My GF is starting to Vape to Quit Smoking
cany and 3 others reacted to VapingBeginner for a topic
Thanks guys. I told her all of you guys advice and she is finding vaping much easier. She has now gone just over 1 month without smoking, so we are both really happy with her progress4 points -
To add to the idiocy -- let's just ignore all the years people have been vaping before this "crisis" came up and we're all healthier than we've ever been... but don't let facts get in your way. SMH3 points

The Independent published this article from a doctor. He is saying what we've known and is actually using common sense. I'm an American doctor. Here's the truth about Juul, vaping and legalizing marijuana https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/juul-ban-flavors-vaping-marijuana-legalize-a9161971.html3 points

I work with a girl who's SO became deathly ill "due to vaping". (When I questioned her, she admitted that it was black market THC her SO was vaping EXCLUSIVELY for a week, when she became ill and then CONTINUED TO VAPE THE STUFF!) Some of the other employees were blasting vaping on the spot because of this person's illness. So I posed the question, "ok, if vaping as a whole is responsible, why am I not ill or dead? I've been vaping for nearly 6 years." The room got totally silent. Then I explained, that I KNOW what's in my juice, because I make my own. What they NEED to be upset about is WHAT this person vaped and WHERE they got it, NOT with vaping as a whole. A few of the employees actually apologized, stating, if they had known that there was black market/tainted juice out there and that could have been the cause of the illness, they would have kept their mouths shut. I just reminded them there is always more to every situation than just what you hear/see on the surface, get the facts before you blow off steam.3 points

The latest CDC report 26 dead and 1200 ill. but then they say only 75% confirmed THC. so, what, the other 25% are liars?...... of course, I'm being facetious, I have no doubt that some of the deaths may have involved vapers with pre-existing health issues and were nowhere near THC. but I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers are fudged here. I just watched a news interview with a couple who's college age daughter got I'll "by vaping" - 5 minutes of the girl's parents professing the innocence of their sweet little girl and when the interviewer pressed further, "oh well, there was that one time when we caught her vaping THC but we believe her that she is not doing it now"......right..... I don't want it to seem like I have no sympathy for these people who are actually suffering from this. I do. It's a terrible tragedy. But the truth will set us free (get ti the bottom if this). Is that too much to ask?3 points

Hey Vapor Talkers, In an effort to keep spammers in check and to ensure new members take a few moments to get acquainted with Vapor Talk's features, all new members will be required to have 3 posts before being placed into the unrestricted 'VT Member" group. How does it work? What limitations will I have when I first join the forum? When first joining the forum you be limited to posting in these sub forums: Introduce Yourself New Vapers Forum Site Features, Requests and Help Vapor Talk Store Support Forum After 3 posts, you will automatically be moved into the standard user or "VT Member" group. From there you can post on the forum normally. But how do I get three posts? What if I don't have a question? What if I want to reply on another topic! The easiest method is to simply introduce yourself (see the Introduction Forum). Say hello! At the very least, a staff member will reply. You're also free to ask a question about your new device in the New Vapers Forum. I can't find the forums you mentioned This is partly why we have this minimal restriction. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the forum. This ensures you post in the correct area (ensuring your questions or topic is answers faster) whilst easing the workload on our awesome forum admins and moderators. I feel... feel so chained. I just want to ask my question. We know, we get it. But unfortunately, when dealing with a forum of this size, spam can be a real hassle. We're quite good at spotting it and removing it quickly. But this makes it much easier for us to keep spam limited to a single area. It makes clean up easy. We appreciate it. Feel free to start a new topic and jump in. Vapor Talk is well known for it's friendly members, help us keep that vibe going. If you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member. You may also want to take a moment to view the forum rules.3 points -
For me, I didn't notice any difference at all, but that was some time ago. Since then I've cut down the nic amounts and now I vape 0 nic - when I vape at all. Working on putting that down as well but I'm in no hurry.2 points

USB-C! No power button, no airflow control nothing. Just filling the pod and taking a puff. The draw is definitely an MTL draw. A comfortable kinda loose MTL, but no restricted lung hits for this device.2 points

A Vision Spinner 2 is just the battery part (the lower part with the on/off button). The tank that holds the eliquid and screws in on top of that is what has a coil inside that will need periodic replacement, what you're calling a 'cart'. If you're using a pre-filled cart/tank, they come preinstalled with the coils inside and it does not need to be replaced. Not knowing exactly the type and style of 'cart' you're using, I can't give you more specifics than that but all the pre-filled units I'm familiar with, none of them have coils that can be replaced, they're all one piece. That said, I'm also not familiar with any all-in-one carts that are used with Vision Spinners, only tanks. Good for you to start vaping instead of smoking.2 points

We just got the "use non-medical masks" whenever you go out order a few days ago, too. My SO was telling his boss that he's thankful I never throw anything away because a few years ago I purchased a box of 50 charcoal infused masks when there was a lot of flu going around. We had them on hand and now they've become very useful. I feel vindicated. *sniffs*2 points

I am the type of person that researches new things to death before I start them. I have the safety glasses and gloves were included in the supplies I ordered. Kids and pets won't be a problem. We don't presently have any pets and the kids are now adults living on their own. I haven't ordered any flavorings yet. I suspect that will be the hardest part. I'm not one that jumps form flavor to flavor. I usually find a flavor I like and stick with it for long periods. Unfortunately the flavor I'm on right now is pretty complex and making it would be difficult. It is a popular flavor so I'm searching for recipes for it.2 points

It is sad. I don't think people want to believe how corrupt these agencies are. I don't blame them. I would love to believe these agencies were working to protect me. A person has to go through something like this vaping "crisis" on a personal level to accept the corruption, deceit, and deception these agencies propagate.2 points

I read another article just today about a high school girl who became very ill after vaping. She at least admitted that she sometimes used THC cartridges... but it was only rarely. I'm with you, @Bebop. I, too, think the numbers are fudged, it's more likely to be something along the lines of 95% vaped THC and 5% were from other previous health issues. My numbers are much more likely, but that's just my opinion.2 points

Nice article, but my thoughts are it is a bit light on pointing fingers at what's/who's driving the vape persecution. I smoked 50 years, was introduced to vape and vaped 4+ years till I quit everything about 2 years ago. Even though I'm no longer an active participant in the vape community, this vilification of vapers/ing still has me pretty pissed. I understand the anguish and hurt around the sickness and deaths, but a knee jerk reaction to ban everything is just plain wrong. From everything I've read or heard, the culprit seems to be a new ingredient to the vape scene, a type of vitamin E. Which brings the question ..... how to successfully ban just one ingredient. Instead, the answer seems to just ban everything. That should make tobacco and pharma happy. Stupid!! If I were still vaping I would be stocking up on my fav flavors. Just in case.2 points

Forget the wattage. it's not important. whatever coil you put in, set the voltage at about 3.7 V. then vape it and adjust up from there. somewhere in there you will find a sweet spot. Make a note of the wattage (watts are a product of voltage accross the resistance (ohm)) whenever you use a different ohm coil, do the same thing. If your using the same coil, vape the wattage you found works. the higher the voltage (or wattage - same difference) the more you will shorten coil life. So if you want longer life, be conservative in your power settings. A brand new coil will take higher power for a while. But you are likely to burn it out faster. there is always a trade off. I usually vape any coil I make at 3.9 - 4.2 volts and let the wattage fall where it may. (I get long coil life - 2 to 4 weeks). You can't adjust voltage and wattage separately. they are tied together. When you "raise the wattage" you are really just increasing the voltage across the coil. Raise the voltage and the watts goes up. lower the voltage and the watts go down. Its fine to remember the wattage and use that number to set your mod as manufacturers seem to realize that people focus in the wattage. But it's really the voltage you are changing. It's like a car. The speedometer doesnt make the car go. You dont "raise the speedometer", (wattage), you give it more gas (voltage).2 points

If you change your settings from TC to watts, you might get a better vape from your mod and tank. I'd start around 20 watts and take a puff. If that's not doing it for you, go up a few watts and try again until you get a harsh vape or a slight burnt taste. Back it down a touch and you should have your sweet spot for that coil. Just a thought.2 points

Pretty simple and good for summer: 3 mils Srawberry ripe TFA 1 mil dragonfruit TFA 1mil raspberry loranne 1 mil cranberry capella 1 mil sweetener I like it at 70/30. It could be good 60/40. My husband is a picky vaper and loves it, also good if you swap the percentages on strawberry ripe and cranberry. It is something you can tinker alot or a little with. That is for a 30 mil bottle.2 points -
So the point of the salt nic is to deliver high nic without being harsh? If that's the case, then I need to stop thinking I need to try it. About 3 months ago I started cutting 3mg in half. Been trying to reduce my nic intake since March of 2011 when I started vaping.2 points

Holy Crap! You're a machine today. Let's see, I've been up for about an hour and a half and I've stared at the PC monitor a lot. I did build one TC coil and tested a Cylon. I found out it runs about 40°F hot. Also discovered another battery bit the dust. 100% Sag right off the charger. Probably time to replace that one, lol.2 points -

We all mostly call is Slowtech around here. While the prices are low with free shipping, you usually have to wait a lot longer for the stuff to get to you. If you don't mind the wait and can get by without whatever you ordered, it's usually a good place to buy gear. EBay is a place we mostly warn people about due to too many knock offs being sold there masquerading as original name brand items. It's buyer beware, especially for mods and batteries. If you're getting things like wraps and drip tips, it's a great place to shop.2 points -
Good for you! The "wicks" that you speak of are included inside the 0.4 ohm V8 Baby-Q2 Dual Core and the 0.15 ohm Octuple core. These two coils (or "cores" as identified here), are already pre-built heating coils with wicks included inside.2 points

@Tam nailed it. Nobody can tell you which you will like. It's also a pretty tall order to do a full comparison of the two devices. I suggest you google the two with the word "review" after them and look for video reviews. Three reviewers that I like to watch are DJLSB Vapes, PBusardo, and Mike Vapes. Zophie vapes is pretty good to come to think of it. The rest to me are just salesmen.2 points

I'm going to do you a huge favor and not answer that. You have to understand what you are doing with a mech mod. Learn how to use this site: http://www.steam-engine.org/wirewiz.html Study this: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/blog-entry/14-ohms-law-explained-for-vapers.6293/ Use this to find accurate amp ratings for batteries: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/blog-entry/list-of-battery-tests.7436/ Use google and read up on "mechanical mod safety"2 points

Walt is right on. I can just tell you what I do. I stick with Clapton's or fused Clapton's. I build to .28 to .35. I use a ohm meter to build on like the coil master 521 and if not sure I will check the build on a regulated mod to be sure. I will be hunting for a dead rabbit on Black Friday. What I do works for me on a series mod. Duel coil. As long as you hit the right ohms you will be ok. More ohms is better till you learn. Have fun2 points -
