To add to the idiocy -- let's just ignore all the years people have been vaping before this "crisis" came up and we're all healthier than we've ever been... but don't let facts get in your way. SMH3 points

The Independent published this article from a doctor. He is saying what we've known and is actually using common sense. I'm an American doctor. I work with a girl who's SO became deathly ill "due to vaping". (When I questioned her, she admitted that it was black market THC her SO was vaping EXCLUSIVELY for a week, when she became ill and then CONTINUED TO VAPE THE STUFF!) Some of the other employees were blasting vaping on the spot because of this person's illness. So I posed the question, "ok, if vaping as a whole is responsible, why am I not ill or dead? I've been vaping for nearly 6 years." The room got totally silent. Then I explained, that I KNOW what's in my juice, because I make my own. What they NEED to be upset about is WHAT this person vaped and WHERE they got it, NOT with vaping as a whole. A few of the employees actually apologized, stating, if they had known that there was black market/tainted juice out there and that could have been the cause of the illness, they would have kept their mouths shut. I just reminded them there is always more to every situation than just what you hear/see on the surface, get the facts before you blow off steam.3 points

The latest CDC report 26 dead and 1200 ill. but then they say only 75% confirmed THC. so, what, the other 25% are liars?...... of course, I'm being facetious, I have no doubt that some of the deaths may have involved vapers with pre-existing health issues and were nowhere near THC. but I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers are fudged here. I just watched a news interview with a couple who's college age daughter got I'll "by vaping" - 5 minutes of the girl's parents professing the innocence of their sweet little girl and when the interviewer pressed further, "oh well, there was that one time when we caught her vaping THC but we believe her that she is not doing it now"......right..... I don't want it to seem like I have no sympathy for these people who are actually suffering from this. I do. It's a terrible tragedy. But the truth will set us free (get ti the bottom if this). Is that too much to ask?3 points

Hey Vapor Talkers, In an effort to keep spammers in check and to ensure new members take a few moments to get acquainted with Vapor Talk's features, all new members will be required to have 3 posts before being placed into the unrestricted 'VT Member" group. How does it work? What limitations will I have when I first join the forum? When first joining the forum you be limited to posting in these sub forums: Introduce Yourself New Vapers Forum Site Features, Requests and Help Vapor Talk Store Support Forum After 3 posts, you will automatically be moved into the standard user or "VT Member" group. From there you can post on the forum normally. But how do I get three posts? What if I don't have a question? What if I want to reply on another topic! The easiest method is to simply introduce yourself (see the Introduction Forum). Say hello! At the very least, a staff member will reply. You're also free to ask a question about your new device in the New Vapers Forum. I can't find the forums you mentioned This is partly why we have this minimal restriction. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the forum. This ensures you post in the correct area (ensuring your questions or topic is answers faster) whilst easing the workload on our awesome forum admins and moderators. I feel... feel so chained. I just want to ask my question. We know, we get it. But unfortunately, when dealing with a forum of this size, spam can be a real hassle. We're quite good at spotting it and removing it quickly. Too harsh
VapeMama and 2 others reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
@Tam and @Walt are correct... Increasing the volume of creamy flavors (Vanilla, Malted Milk, Cream, Ice Cream, etc.) will reduce the "bite" of the fruit flavors. Like Walt, I've found that certain brands of fruit flavors are much harsher than others, and some of the "candy" flavors are very citrus-acidic and artificial tasting (just like Tam said). I also prefer Capella and TFA (The Flavor Apprentice) fruit flavors over others.... CAP are some of the best IMO... I would also suggest lowering the candy flavor (or eliminating it all together) and play with the ratio of Blueberry and malted-milk/ice-cream flavorings until you find the right balance. Mix in 5ml - 10ml batches until you find the ratio you like best... then you can make gallons if it if you wish3 points -
Looking to get a Pod
cany and one other reacted to hungryvaper for a topic
I've used the Vaporesso Zero, which is actually the "Renova" Zero (just one of Vaporesso's brands). I think I've had 3 or 4 of them by now. I don't use one anymore but I used to appreciate how small they are. My qualm with them though was that they leaked somewhat often and it was annoying enough that I switched vapes. They might have improved it but it seemed to leak pretty frequently. They'd leak both in my mouth and inside the area where the pod connects to the device. I remember regularly pulling the pod and cleaning the connection area with a paper towel to keep it nice and clean, which is frankly not something I think you should ever need to do with a vape. As if regular leaks weren't enough, I purchased one Zero that had a defective battery where the opening to slip the pod in was too tight for the pod to fit properly and it would squeeze the pod, which seemed to spawn regular e-juice leaks - it was awful. Despite the problems I've had with the Zero, the worst pod vape I've probably used is the Juul. And the best one to date is probably the Vaporesso Xros, which is kind of surprising seeing as Vaporesso is also behind the Zero that I've come to despise lol. If you need a good reason to choose one vape over another, you might consider what I consider: can you buy it and replacement pods at your local smoke/vape shop? With both the Xros and the Zero I know I can always find pods at at least one of the local shops here so I'm stuck searching online and then waiting for my pods to arrive in the mail.2 points -
USB-C! No power button, no airflow control nothing. Just filling the pod and taking a puff. The draw is definitely an MTL draw. A comfortable kinda loose MTL, but no restricted lung hits for this device.2 points

EmmaSGoldston and one other reacted to Tam for a topic
Since Blucavvy got the thread going in "Bump when you buy something new", I thought it would be good to get a thread going on what we receive in vape mail. I'll start here. Just got three of the four custom HH.357 hybrid spec atomizers I sent back to Hanna to clean/repair. The fourth was beyond help so it was discarded. They're just like brand new again! On Monday I'll be shipping out two more of these for similar treatment. I probably wouldn't need to do this but I insist on using the dark, sweet juices so they gunk up faster and don't clean out as well. Great customer service has Avid Vaper. So, what did you get in YOUR vapemail today?2 points -
I am the type of person that researches new things to death before I start them. I have the safety glasses and gloves were included in the supplies I ordered. Kids and pets won't be a problem. We don't presently have any pets and the kids are now adults living on their own. I haven't ordered any flavorings yet. I suspect that will be the hardest part. I'm not one that jumps form flavor to flavor. I usually find a flavor I like and stick with it for long periods. Unfortunately the flavor I'm on right now is pretty complex and making it would be difficult. It is a popular flavor so I'm searching for recipes for it.2 points

My pleasure. Here is a link where DJlsb opens one up. You can see where the 510 is held underneath by a nut. That is probably loose. Unfortunately there is a good probability that the ground wire may have disconnected while the atty was spinning. You may have some soldering to do. You can watch how he puts it back together and get a feel for how much work might be involved.2 points

People believe they are way too busy and over stressed even though they can babble endlessly about Game of Thrones or Walking Dead and the like. If they don't vape, they are not going to dig. They will just parrot headlines. We lost the biggest battle by not getting in front of this. We knew it was coming. Now the anties have got their agenda well published which is effectively the rules of engagement. We got slapped with proving them wrong which is exactly opposite of rules of law. It is their burden to prove their accusations are correct.2 points

I read another article just today about a high school girl who became very ill after vaping. She at least admitted that she sometimes used THC cartridges... but it was only rarely. I'm with you, @Bebop. I, too, think the numbers are fudged, it's more likely to be something along the lines of 95% vaped THC and 5% were from other previous health issues. My numbers are much more likely, but that's just my opinion.2 points

When Michigan gets 2.1 billion dollars a year from the master tobacco settlement, sin taxes, and of course campaign donations while cigarette smoking is at it's lowest ever, the mystery becomes pretty clear. Add to that that Michigan issued bonds against anticipated master tobacco agreement income, and is, as always hurting for money. I'm not freaking out but I'm madder than a hornet. I've watched numerous "hearings" and they are paid political propaganda. Cherry picked panel members as well as politicians putting on a B rate movie. Hardly a thread of truth in the entire production. One panelist with a prefix Dr. called the U.K. Royal College of Physicians a couple doctors sitting around making unfounded decisions. The FDA is bumbling around obviously incapable of drafting even final guidelines. The CDC is obviously under pressure to support the political stance on vaping. Our president sites pillow talk as his decision to ban flavors. Insane!! Maniacally Insane!!! Mass media jumps in singing the same song. No wonder, every other commercial is from big pharma who has a vested interest in seeing vaping disappear. Tomorrow I have more nicotine and flavor concentrates coming in. Soon I will be set for the rest of my lifetime. In the big picture that does nothing for the countless people who will go back to analogs, the black market that will fill the void, the people who will never have the opportunity to try vaping. These decisions will kill. Good for the government as the average smoker dies 10 years sooner than the non smoker and will not be collecting social security or medicare. Leave it to the government. This time their taking a health crisis that was created by the black market and driving an industry deeper into that black market. And I'm sure the black market will do a better job of checking I.D.'s.2 points

Nice article, but my thoughts are it is a bit light on pointing fingers at what's/who's driving the vape persecution. I smoked 50 years, was introduced to vape and vaped 4+ years till I quit everything about 2 years ago. Even though I'm no longer an active participant in the vape community, this vilification of vapers/ing still has me pretty pissed. I understand the anguish and hurt around the sickness and deaths, but a knee jerk reaction to ban everything is just plain wrong. From everything I've read or heard, the culprit seems to be a new ingredient to the vape scene, a type of vitamin E. Which brings the question ..... how to successfully ban just one ingredient. Instead, the answer seems to just ban everything. That should make tobacco and pharma happy. Stupid!! If I were still vaping I would be stocking up on my fav flavors. Just in case.2 points

Looks like @Bebop is doing a great job of getting you through this. Just as a couple of side notes: 1. Smok coils often are flaky. We get a lot of problems here with them. 2. Sometimes a mod will not read a new coil. One thing you can try is to fire the mod with no coil a few times and see if it indicates no atomizer. This may help it read a new coil when you put it on. 35 Watts into a .4 Ohm coil causes the mod to put out about 3.74 Volts. If the mod doesn't read the new coil and puts that 3.74 volts into a .15 ohm coil it will be developing about 93 Watts.2 points

We all mostly call is Slowtech around here. While the prices are low with free shipping, you usually have to wait a lot longer for the stuff to get to you. If you don't mind the wait and can get by without whatever you ordered, it's usually a good place to buy gear. EBay is a place we mostly warn people about due to too many knock offs being sold there masquerading as original name brand items. It's buyer beware, especially for mods and batteries. If you're getting things like wraps and drip tips, it's a great place to shop.2 points -

Low Res Error on Aspire Evo 75 Kit (please help im new to this)
Philthy Phil and one other reacted to blecchi for a topic
Hi All, I came across this thread when looking for solution for the LOW RES problem on the NX75/EVO75. I started suffering from it after I had dropped my mod by accident. I'm posting my solution here in the hope that it may help others. In my case, it was a large surface mount chip in the center of the back of the PCB that had come loose on one point. (I'm guessing it's some kind of regulator, it's the biggest package on the board) After soldering it back in place the mod worked like before. You could also wedge it in place by putting a small piece of paper behind it, if you can't solder it. Looking at the size of the solder joint, that chip should not have come loose. I blame bad solder work. You will need a T5 Torx screwdriver to open the modbox. Best of luck.2 points -

First Look on Smok Stick M17
christina2017 and one other reacted to Walt for a topic
Well, I am glad they care about their bottom line as prosperity is a good thing and I love to see companies stay in business. Having said that, I'm just not impressed with Smok. It seems like they release three new mods a week. Half of their "innovation" is gimmick. They will put lights, buzzers, and whistles on their mods then press fit in the 510. They will claim TC and half their mods really are poor in TC. I have a paint-less Alien and a beastly king atty that will dump its contents over night. Just not the kind of stuff I like laying around. I think their are a lot of mods and tanks out there that don't have the hype factor of a Smok that are far better deals in terms of form, fit, and function. I just dropped twenty bucks on an Hcigar Nemisis. Oops I dropped it! Crap, too late. It cracked the tile.2 points -

@cany @Tam @VapeMama Ok, it all come in yesterday, the wire and the mod. I spun up some K1 2x26+36 parallel and wound up a 5 wrap on a 3mm rod. Put it in a 22mm Tsunami. It was a little confusing. The mod came with a bunch of extra tubing for different batteries and no instructions. I found a video. So here it is in all it's glory. Honestly, it was a little anticlimactic. I was half expecting a monster flame thrower or something. It is a nice little vape though. The raw simplicity of the thing is kinda alluring.2 points

Take short breaks and have them spirit you away to some dark corner for "band meetings" to talk about the set list or something. Yeah, I can relate all too well. Thankfully, I'm a Navy brat so everyone I went to school with are scattered to the four winds. I've gone out of my way not to have a FB presence/account but some do manage to track me down every now and then.
