Patricia reacted to Bebop in What creates a less pull 2.5 ohm coils or 1.8 ohm coils?
    Do the following:

    1) raise the post on your battery a little
    2) with your tank assembled, use a paper clip to rock the pin of the atomizer "out" a little bit so it hangs a little lower
    3) screw the beauty ring down all the way then screw your tank on only until it makes contact with battery and it fires. Then, screw the beauty ring "up" to the base of the tank. Don't over tighten

    You should be good

    All of the above....

.... and, you being a 2 1/2 packer a day smoker I would prob recommend 18mg or 24mg ejuice (nicotine strength). You are a chain smoker and nicotine levels and enjoyment of the juice flavor will be key in your success.

Hi Brenda. Welcome to Vapor Talk! You've come to the right place to ask questions. More than likely you'll get more answers than you thought you wanted.

Vaping is a very personal thing. What's right and "perfect" for one person will be the worst for another. Only you will be able to judge what's "best" for you. A lot of it is trial and error, but that's also half the fun.

From what you wrote about the ENCORE e-cig, it's not a good one. You have to wait for the coils to cool down after four draws? Um...no. If all e-cigs were like that I'd still be smoking.

When I get going on one and have the time I can chain vape for an hour or more before getting the feeling that I've gotten too much nicotine and have to stop for a bit. My set-up would still go as long as it's got a charge -- and that's what it should do. I've been vaping for a little over a year and a half now so my arsenal has grown to embarrassing proportions (for me).

My go-to would be the Vision Spinner variable voltage battery. It's a great beginner's one, in my opinion, because it's easy, has just enough bells and whistles so you can customize it a bit and can grow into it, is a workhorse and should last you for a good long time. I would get two for each person so one can be used while the other is charging. Always have back ups. And back ups of back ups so you don't have to go without should something happen.

With the Spinner, get a charger and add a wall adapter for it. Never charge using the USB port on a laptop or computer for safety reasons. You get added protection with the wall adapter.

Add a Kanger Pro Tank mini or an Anyvape Davide mini to put on your battery and at least one 5-pack of extra coils in whatever ohm level you prefer (my preference is the 1.8 - 2.2 ohm) and you'll be set once you get your juices.

I'm sure others will be along soon to give you their recommendations. Good luck!

dannyk, you are absolutely right. I do not think I have ever been told to send back an item, especially an $8.00 item, that I had already spent $6.00 in shipping before they would send the correct one to me. So I just sent him an email telling him I was just going to keep the ugly drip tip to keep from having to spend more money on shipping then I already have for an $8.00 drip tip. I also told him of the previous complaint we had about GotVapes and how many forum members came forward to defend GotVapes because we had not had that experience. I also told him that now that I have experienced the poor customer service for myself and feel that there has been some kind of less then tastful change at GotVapes that it is my duty to inform the rest of the group to be cautious when ordering anything from GotVapes. Personally, I will not be doing any further ordering from them. There are far too many places I have learned to order from who sell good quality hardware and juice and GREAT customer service. Many of them we know on a first name basis and treat me very well, like a friend that they can trust because they know I keep coming back because if there ever is an issue there is no third degree. We work it out and I always come away very satisfied. I could name them, but you all already know them.

If you take some time to read on this forum you'll find a wealth of information here.

One of the most trusted vendors is The Veteran Vaper. Brian, the owner, will answer your questions, troubleshoot any problems, and gives the very best customer service around. I've recommended him highly to many on Vapor Talk and have never heard anything but positive (rave) reviews back. You can get some 1300 mAh Vision Spinners at $24.95 here: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/vision-spinner-1300mah-variable-voltage-battery/. Don't forget to get a charger and a wall adapter for it, using the USB charger on your laptop/computer is never recommended for safety reasons.

This is just my two cents but, as a beginner, I would set your iTaste 134 aside for a little while and pick up a couple Vision Spinners (you must have back ups). This is a variable voltage battery that has proven to be a great workhorse, not complicated, and very dependable, especially for a beginner. Pair that with an Anyvape Davide mini or a Kangor Pro Tank mini (these have a glass tank, no plastic so you shouldn't get any plastic taste), with either a 1.8 ohm or 2.2 ohm coil, your favorite juice and vape. Once you're more familiar with vaping and the various nuances of vaping, then go back to your iTaste 134.

Vaping has so many different variables that it's better to start simple before getting into the fancy stuff. It's best to learn about the differences in juice: PG/VG, nicotine, what sweeteners and dark juices do to coils... What ohm coils go best with what voltages and juice, the ways to tweak your set up on the lowest levels...

As with anything, you need to learn to crawl before you take off running full out. Like I said, it's just my two cents.

Just in! Two beautiful Pyrex drip tips from Gotvapes.com. One in a very light lavender and one purple. Might need to order some more of these.

They were well packaged, looks like they've never been used, fast shipping even though I didn't order it Priority, great customer service...

IMHO, I would rather the FDA ban analogs than put up the stink about E-cigs. I'm a long time analog smoker and I would say if E-cigs were around when I started, I doubt I would have even looked at an analog. Unlike a few, I started vaping to quit but, was very skeptical that it would work. To my surprise after just a few months I didn't even want an analog. No one here has the right or wants to judge anyone that smokes an analog and vapes. It is just that most of us, just don't want analogs any more. I haven't ever had a tasting problem with E-Cigs. The only time I had an issue was when I flavored straight USP Glycerin from WalMart when I first started out. It coated my tongue and throat, was very unpleasant. I have since learned to only use 100% pure Vegetable Glycerin and mix it with GP. I have to because of my T2 Diabetes, but the other reason as well. Don't stress over it if you end up one day deciding you don't want analogs any more.... Rejoice!

For me, the horrifying effect of my clothes, my hands, my breath stinking like bunghole and not being able to truly taste food and not to mention the health issues that smoking causes was enough for me to quit smoking.

I have had the dekang RY4 and never had that problem. liquids come from all over these days, many make their own. but, like food, there are many likes, dislikes and reactions, depending on the person. nothing is added to the liquids to affect cigarettes (yes the dekang liquids have been tested). another flavor or brand might work better for you. you can always ask the shop what liquids they use or if they make their own. personally, I stay away from tobacco flavors....they don't taste right to me.

However, I personally much prefer vaping to smoking....mind you its been 4.5 years for me, so its the memory of smoking. I really, really don't miss the nasty taste of tobacco, I have tried it since I quit smoking and given my choice I will stick with vaping.

BTW...I was like you, just looking for something to use when I couldn't smoke. I quit smoking the day I started vaping.

Our hospital here who also owns all the clinics in many surrounding counties already will not hire you for any position if you smoke or have any nicotine in their systems. They draw your blood before hiring anyone and do random checks. I cannot believe that crap is legal but it must be because they have been doing that for over a year.

I didn't even realize it, end of year for me in my business is nuts but a few days ago I passed the 8 month mark. At this point I am 100% confident I will never pick up another analog, actually have been for quite a while. I have slowed posting due to being way too busy and launching a new department at the dealerships but again, thanks to everyone here that has been instrumental in my success at this!

I took your advice on this Bebop. I now use all 8 of my Spinners and the last of my 1100s in rotation. I thought about what you said and I remember I have seen batteries before that were just left in a drawer over a long period of time and you can see the yucky stuff coming out of them and all rusted up. I do not want my beautiful Rainbows to get like that because I neglected them so everybody gets used till drained then recharged and put back at the end of the line. That means they are getting used about 1 time a week so that should keep them active enough. I see that is about what Tam does too. Thanks for the advice.

Patricia reacted to aufin in What creates a less pull 2.5 ohm coils or 1.8 ohm coils?
As I understand the ohms thing, ohms is a measurement of resistance to current flow through something - such as the heating coil wire in your tank. The lower the resistance the quicker and hotter the coil can get, thereby producing more vapor at a faster rate than a higher ohms rated coil. Also has a chance of burning your coil out quicker, too. If you want easier "pull" you'll have to open up the air vents to allow more air to pass through and over the coil as you draw (suck). But, opening the air holes too much can be a little counterproductive, too. Too much airflow can cool the coil and keep it from heating the juice to optimum vapeing temp.

I second everything Havamal said. That is the set up I am using now and it is the best set up I have found since I started vaping 8 months ago and I tried almost everything, it feels like anyway. Just one thing to add. The Vapor Store is having a MAD sell right now. 50% off most of their stuff. If I was not already loaded down with enough equipment for a year I would go shopping crazy with 50% off.

I think you will find the recommendations as varied as the products!

I think you are safe going with a 1300mah Vision Spinner and a Kanger Protank 2
For some reason I can not post links or anything... but if you google Vision Spinner Kit you will get several.

I got a Vision Spinner and some Kanger T3S's which I am happy with, but if I knew then what I know now I would have gone with the Kanger ProTank 2 because of the glass tanks...

Pay Pal messed up my mailing address and sent a package to my old address. It is also my fault for not updating my home address after my move but, didn't have an issue before. lesson learned. Luckily I know my neighbors well and they are going to get the package and hold it for me till I can get down to pick it up. When talking with them today they are thinking about starting vaping. I think I will take them a thank you gift to get them started down the vape trail for helping me with this package issue.
