I'm sure glad that I don't crave that 'I just smoked a cig feel'... nothing sounds worse than something that reminds me of, or tastes like, a real analog! :pukes:

Most everyone here knows that I used to be a die-hard carto user! I mean, I used to be 'anti-atty' for the most part, and I wasn't about to start using atty's again! Well, things have obviously changed for me, and I couldn't be happier about it. It didn't necessarily happen with me on my first or second attempt... but the fact is, it DID end up working and it's just another great way to enjoy vaping for me now. So, I will still say to you, I honestly still feel that if you were to keep trying different things something would eventually click for you. I know, you say you are totally happy with cartos and that you don't really care for atty's, and that may very well be the way it is for you. It was certainly like that for me for a long time actually... until I basically just got bored with cartos and felt like giving 'dripping' a go again. I am certainly happy that I did too... because it is my 'go to' thing now at home. That is not something you would have heard me say 3-4 months ago either! I don't know but with the new stuff that has come out lately like variable voltage, dripping atty's, drip shields, and drip tips(The Universal)... once I found the right combination of them it all just came together. I honestly DO NOT ever worry about flooding an atty anymore with my setup... and that is probably the thing that bugged me the most about dripping... never knowing how much juice was there or what was needed, and having juice spit back into my mouth while vaping. Now, I honestly drip 6-8 drops, and have enough vaping with that to satisfy me until I'm ready to pick it up again and repeat! Simple as that... no flooding or no dratty! Not no more!

Once again... You may be a carto user for life... but I too was one not so long ago and things have changed. Just keep that in mind, lol.

The cisco LR 306 costs around 8-10 bucks just like other lr attys. Cisco's business also carries a very special atty called HH.357 and it costs 20 or so bucks.
    ___________space___________
The tricks for longer life? 1, start off new atty or session with a presoaked in joose atty. (let it soak for a good 10 minutes). 2, let the atty cool between drip sessions. Drip/vape/vape/vape/cool/drip/vape

The 306 atty itself puts out a much warmer vapor... just because of how the 306 is made. You might find it hard to match the same warmth with any 510 atty. The only thing you could do is try a standard resistance 306 (2.5-2.8 ohms) and crank it up on the Lava Tube. The LR 306's just get so much hotter faster... let us know what you end up trying... I would like to hear the results.

This is meant for VV mods it says: http://www.avidvaper.com/sr306-standard-resistance-atomizer-2-5-ohm-cisco-spec/

Dripping will work great with your high VG juices! I personally feel that's the best way to enjoy those thicker juices.

I'm gonna jump in here bc nobody has actually answered your question.

A CE2, also known as a fluxomizer or clearomizer is essentially a "tank." They typically come in .8ml and 1.8ml sizes, but no one refers to them as "tanks."
When ppl refer to tanks, they are talking about MAP tanks or similar. These typically hold 3ml - 5ml in juice. There are tanks designed to use CE2's and tanks designed to use dual-coil cartomizers.

The actual tank you get depends on whether or not you prefer ce2's or dual coils, bc the tank itself is seperate from the atomizing unit that is placed inside it. Once the unit burns out or quits working, you can replace the ce2 or dual coil without having to buy a new tank.

A simple google search of MAP tank will produce many vendors selling tanks. You just have to decide if you want to use ce2's or dual coils.

I personally have a provari and use a 5 ml ce2 MAP tank. I like the ce2's bc you can get a 5 pack for $12 from gotvapes.com
I've never tried dual coils because they are typically around 1.5 ohms. With such a low resistance the provari's protection circuit wont allow you to vape them at higher voltages.

Well, I do think a cig is a lot different than pipe or a cigar, the tobacco quality is way different. I tried a cigarette once a couple months after I quit, and it was absolutely disgusting.

I started as a pipe smoker, because I really do enjoy the flavor. I love my PV, but it just doesn't pair with the glass of scotch and a book the way my pipe does. It just helps that be the very occasional activity, as it should be.

The best way to start with DIY....Pick a flavor (premixed liquid) already in your collection....can be a flavor you like or don't like.
    1. in a separate 3ml or 5ml bottle, put 1-2 mls of your premixed liquid. PG= 30 drops to a ml, VG=20 drops to a ml. Give or a take a bit.
    2. Pick a flavor you want to mix with can be another flavor premixed liquid or flavoring.
    3. If using flavoring...start with a couple drops of flavoring, add to liquid, mix and vape test. Dripping works best for testing.
    4. if using premixed liquids...You can mix them 50/50 to start. or if you are fixing a flavor you dont much like....add less of the flavor you don't like and more of the flavor you want.
    5. Creme de menthe is fairly strong....a couple drops will go a long way. You can add this to any liquid you want to spice up a bit..works like a menthol. A Little will add a bit of added flavor without being to minty/menthol.
Always mix small until you find a combination you like.

    Welcome to Vapor Talk!

I agree with Jeff and Kitsune. Get some bigger batteries (eGo) with LR attys. Try direct dripping with the attys and get some Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers for when dripping isn't convenient.

The 100% VG juice will give you huge vapor, but will probably have a softer throat hit. You may want to look for something in between. I usually use a mix of 20-30% VG.

I don't clean attys or cators. Cartos last me about a week and then I ptich it. I blow out my attys every other day or so and that's about it.

I've also read where you should really never dry burn an atty.... unless it's on it's last leg maybe, and you're about to toss it anyway.

I have a Reo Grand and it does work well. It is well built, very solid, and does not leak. As Dayvape says, the extra liquid gets sucked back into the bottle, so you do not flood the atty. I absolutely love the bottom feeders! I had the Ali'i before I got the Reo, so I was used to the side button on it. That made getting used to the top button on the Reo a bit of a challenge, but I got used to it quickly. For me, it is much easier to use the Ali'i one handed because the bottle and the button are next to each other. You just move your finger up and down between them. With the Reo, the bottle opening is on the side and the button on the top, so I have to turn the unit in my hand to squeeze the bottle, then turn again to use the button. It took awhile for me to get used to that, but then that's because I was used to using the Ali'i first. It's different, but not bad. The Reo is a very square box, without rounded corners, and the corners can dig into my hand if I don't hold it just right. I now 'cradle' the unit in my fingers with the bottom of the unit resting on my pinky finger. That works well for me. I think part of my problem is that it's just a little bit too big to fit comfortably in my hand. Or it could be from being used to the Ali'i that does have the rounded corners and is just a bit smaller so that it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. I choose to go with the Reo Grand because it used the 6ml bottle and the 18650 battery, both of which are favorites of mine. The only negative I can think of is that the battery cover slips a little bit - moves up and down while vaping. Since I changed the way I hold it, that doesn't happen as much as it did at first. In my opinion the Reo is a well made PV, is easy to use, and works great.

It's not too much if you have the proper rated atty/carto! If it's a '6v mod' then I would certainly get yourself some higher ohm attys/cartos to go with it. Madvapes sells all sorts of different ones... rated for HV vaping... such as 4.0 and 4.5 ohms. It's all about putting the right stuff together to end up with the perfect match.

It takes about 22 drops to fill one from the top with the rubber plug out.And you need to let them sit for a bit to soak in or they will do the dry burn.Especially with high VG liquid.I just throw the plug away and use a drip tip or a cut down 510 or 901 cart ,easier to fill and no hot metal in my mouth.

It isn't a drip tip. The Ming or vase top is actually part of the top cap of the tank. It works really well. Doesn't leak and is really easy to fill. I actually have a 2nd one now that is pawn style jonboy also makes.

I use dual coils on all my other mods, but for my LT I prefer the 3.0 stainless steel pre-punched cartos and a tank. I purchased everything in one fell swoop at volcanoecigs and have been very happy. Be sure to pre-fill the carto and you won't have any problems.

The 3.0 lets you zoom up to 5.0 volts without problems. I have mine set at 4.2 typically.
For higher volts I would get a 3.5 carto or a 4.0. (clouds of vapor has them I think). to insure your 6.0v setting won't burn the carto.

I really like my LT, and I think you'll enjoy yours too if you purchase cartos that allow you to adjust your voltage The dual coils don't seem to work very well on VV type mods from what I understand. I haven't yet tried them, because they would be too limiting ... I might as well just stick to the dc on a 3.7 because the vv will buck the v back down to there anyway.

    Good luck!

Tried out a couple of these Volt batteries and I got to tell you I'm really impressed! I was looking for a cig look-a-like for certain parties and functions where I felt a regular looking e cig would be more appropriate. Well I believe I found the ones I was looking for! I'm on the third hour of using it and it is still putting out a great amount of vapor and flavor I even had to change cartos once! And the fact that it's sealed gives you the comfort that you won't damage your batt. Also a three month warranty! So if anyone out there is looking for a small look-a-like this is a very good alterative. Peace and Happy Vapin'
