    1. How often should you clean your clearomizer and how long do they last? Should you clean them each time you fill it or just when you switch to another juice.

With the Vision (Stardust) V2 clearomizers I just clean those out when the juice gets really dark and the flavor isn't what it's supposed to be. If I'm refilling with the same juice I don't clean it out, I just drain the old (if you need to) and refill. If switching to another flavor, yes, I'd wash it out and let it dry overnight.

The T2 clearomizer with the replaceable coil is easier for cleaning, imo. If the wick doesn't let go of the old flavor it's easy to change it to a new one and it's like having a whole new set up without the cost.

    2. The kit also came with the atomizers and cartridges.

Not familiar with cartridges. I've tried them but didn't care for them at all.

    3. What is a drip tip? Do they replace cartridges?

A drip tip is the tip that goes on top of the atomizer. The tip makes it easier to drip e-liquid into the atomizer and keeps you from burning your lips should the atomizer get hot when you're vaping. I'm still new to this but I love it now. It took quite a bit of trial and error (it's still a learning experience for me), but the pay off in the intense flavor of the e-liquid has been worth it. Kitsune is a great resource for dripping advice.

    4. I know the nicotine leve affects the TH but does it affect the taste of the juice too?

Um... still too new to vaping to be able to give you an answer. There are others here who are much more knowledgeable...

    5. I am a 30 year smokers smoking Marboro 100's. What level of nicotine would you recommend. The sample bottles are 10ml but I did get 20ml of a larger flavor. I still am craving the cigarettes though.

I smoked a pack a day of Marlboro Lights (shorts) for over 30 years and started with 24 mg of nicotine. That didn't last too long, though. Now, I have juices from 0 mg to 12 mg and I switch off -- depending on how I feel. You'll have to play around with the nicotine levels to find what works for you. I think it's different for everyone.

    6. My throat seems to be sore. I am wondering if this goes away eventually. I'm trying to drink lots of water. Is there a danger of vaping TOO much and getting nicotine overdose?

YES! Once I finally got it right with the direct dripping I got so happy (and the juice tasted so good) that I wound up faintly nauseous, more than a bit dizzy with a nasty headache. You'll know if/when you're getting there. I'm much more careful now.

Good luck with the vaping! You'll find a whole bunch of wonderful people here who are more than generous with their expertise and advice. They've certainly been helping me get the hang of things.

The whole battle cry of, "I need BACK UPS!!!!" was what made my original arsenal of one eGo battery, two clearomizers and one bottle of juice into the monstrosity of stuff I now have. Mentioning that brick and mortar store in Colorado is not helping, Kit.

This forum and all the lovely people with even better recommendations is very bad for my wallet. I recently went totally overboard, lost my mind, went nuts and ordered:

    From EmpireMods:

    1 glass drip tip (purple)
1 metal 910/510 straight drip tip
1 stainless steel 901/510 countoured drip tip

They also threw in one very pretty purple swirled acrylip drip tip as a free gift. Um... yeah. Now that I've gotten the hang of dripping I've discovered the joys of different drip tips. Just a few days ago I got two swirl acrylic fat bottomed tips (1 blue, 1 purple) from ecigexpress. So far my favorite is the straight metal one.

From EC blend (all 15 ml, 50/50 vg/pg, 6 mg nicotine, extra flavor unless otherwise noted):

    Eggnog
    Irish Cream
    chocolate malt
    vanilla malt
5 ml. white peach ala Zoe

and they sent a free disposable safety tip for sharing with friends and a 5 ml "The Twinkle" *squints at tiny print on bottle* ...or it could be "The Twinkie" I can't tell which.

Still waiting for my order from TVR and two orders from Sweet-Vapes. I should be set for e-juice for the next millenia now...

Wow. Who would've thought that an innocent link could bring about so much damage to my wallet! :laughs: I have a drip shield/cone/thingy but don't care much for it. It could be just me, but when it's on, the vapor seems warmer than I like so I just leave the atty nekkid. But the drip tips on that site... I just ordered one metal, one stainless steel and one glass drip tip. Can't wait 'til they get here to try them out.

Now that I seem to have a handle on this dripping thing I'm really glad I stuck with it. The difference in taste is just amazing! So... when do I get my sooper sekrit dripper-decoder ring?

Have you made something that you are proud of? Post it here and describe it!

    Lemon Meringue Pie

    36mg pg base(flavorless) 50%
    VG 30%
    Capella Lemon M.P. 12%
    LorAnn Marshmallow 6%
    Flavour Art Vienna Cream 2%

    This makes 18mg e-liquid, 70/30 pg,vg

I also used a couple of drops of suclarose but EM (cotton candy) or no sweetener at all will also work.

This is sooooooooooooo good!! No steep time, just mix, shake and vape. I don't have to describe what it tastes like do I?

I think I was predisposed toward vaping prior to knowing anything about it. First off, I'm a gadget freak. I love anything that requires pushing or clicking a button to do something else. So ecigs had a built in appeal for me.

Secondly, I wasn't getting much satisfaction from smoking anymore. I'd continue to go through a pack a day, but it was more habit than enjoyment. When the price jumped $1 overnight, I decided to find a cheaper cigarette source. Put out some online queries and someone recommended an electronic cigarette. Purchased one and "that was all she wrote".

    But I'm not you.

And you're not the people who share their vape experiences online, so it's unfair to rate what you experience against everyone else. If your goal is to quit smoking and you smoke one less cigarette than you normally would, that's PROGRESS. Before long you'll be smoking TWO less. If you toss your ecig in the trash and say, "to hell with it"...

...CONGRATULATE YOURSELF for at least giving it a try.

you will find we all have our preferences on set up, its one of the best parts of vaping....tons of choices. You will probably have to try a few things to find out what works best for you.

the stardust/vision clearomizers have worked very well for me, great vapor and throat hit and good flavor. I also use the 3ml DCT (dual coil tanks)...a little more trouble to fill, and best to add an extra hole in the carto.
For the best flavor is still dripping. Using VG liquids will clog up the atomizer much faster with dripping. It will also burn out pretty fast if you are chain vaping....the atomizer gets too hot.

You will be just fine. Good advice above. Just relax and enjoy. smoke if you need to smoke, you will find soon enough, you will vape more than you smoke.
Finding the right flavors helps and nicotine strength helps. What strength are you using?

Hang in there....It really does get easier.

I can't speak for anyone else but what I did was... when I wanted a cigarette, I just had one. Then, I went back to vaping. By doing that it took the pressure off and by the fifth day I was totally off the analogs. The good thing about vaping is that it's not an all or nothing choice. Good for you that you're working on it though. Welcome and good luck!

Got home from work tonight and found that my new Ego C Twist arrived.

I should've bought this some time ago. OMG.

Someone said that the numbers were very small and hard to read in another thread. Boy, were they ever right! My eye sight isn't the best anymore anyway so without bright light and some squinting I couldn't make out which way was lower or higher. Finally got it set and gave it a try...

This 1000 mAh is nearly 1 1/2 inches bigger than my 650s but it's not bad. I think I just need to get used to the extra length. lol.

So far I've got it set at the lowest setting (3.2?) and loving the cool vape. The flavor of the e-liquid comes through stronger than I've ever tasted before (using a Stardust V2 right now). Eventually, I'll probably play with the settings but I think I've found my "sweet spot" already.

And talk about great customer service! Brian also included two bottles of e-juice in my order. Thanks, Brian, for not only a great product but also a great shopping experience. You've got a new return customer.

In general, the higher the voltage the hotter the vapor will be. The lower the voltage, the colder the vapor will be respectively. The eGo C will work just like your eGo T honestly except imagine the twist part is a boost button. The higher you go, the more vapor you'll get and the hotter it'll be. Like turning a toaster on over drive lol

While I'm using an eGo T at the moment, normally I enjoy a Regular Resistance Boge Cartomizer at 4.2 volts. It's the sweet spot for me personally. Not to hot not to cold.

Your clearos that work good with the regular battery will work just as well with the twist set counter-clockwise to the minimum setting. Try that first and then twist it up just a little bit. You'll notice it getting a little warmer and more vapor. Twist it half way and even more so but at about that point you might start to loose the flavor. It's easy to find the sweet spot, just play with it a bit. Most of my clearos are medium-low resistance and I keep my twist half-way or less(4 volts). Some attys, cartos or clearos with a more standard or higher resistance and you will want to crank it to the max(4.8 volts). Do yourself a favor and don't try to read the numbers on the dial, they are so small it isn't even worth it. Just know that counterclockwise is 3.2 clockwise is 4.8 and the middle is 4.0. and fine tune it by how you like it.

it's actually pretty simple, just remember to pair the correct resistance to the correct voltage. general rule of thumb is as follows.

    lower ohm carto/atty=lower voltage
    higher ohm carto/atty=higher voltage

for instance, a "low resistance" atty/carto (1.5-2.0ohm's) you would want to use basically at 4v or less, this will give you a very warm vapor.

for a cooler vape try a 2.5-3.0ohm atty carto at that same 4v or less

at 3+ohm's 5v or higher will give you a warmer vape.

but just remember that basic rule of thumb, if the resistance of the atty/carto is low you want to pair it to a lower voltage. if it's high pair it with a higher voltage. most sites if they don't list the exact resistance of the atty/carto will at least tell you it's either a lr-low resistance (1.5-2.0ohms), sr-standard resistance (2.5-3.0ohms), or hv-high voltage (not sure y some sites call it that as it should be high resistance not voltage but anyways 3.5-4.0ohms)

I think kitsune is talking about Jeffb's post. Brian is a supplier, who BTW has lots of goodies in his store and used to be staff here at Vapor Talk. I called him Mark once in the comment box and he sent me extra stuff. He said he doesn't mind being called Mark, just don't call him Jeff. lol I don't know how Jeff would feel about being called Brian but I think that's kinda funny. Do there avatars look similar because this is the second time in a couple of days those 2 got mixed up. lol

Laurel, I agree with getting an eGo type battery or, even better, the eGo twist. Here's the type of clearos I like the most and I got them from Jeff's--I mean Brian's store.http://www.theveteranvaper.com/ego-2-4ml-cc-changeable-coil-clearomizer-clear/

When that happens on any of my clearomizers I just unscrew the thing, carefully wipe the battery connection end to get the extra e-liquid out and dry. Then, with a tissue, I blow into the clearmozier (gently but firmly) to get as much of the liquid out and dab a clean corner of tissue into the end of the clearomizer. Screw on and vape. The gurgly sound usually happens when I over tip the thing...

    Hope that helps

And I'll just bet Pink has you rushing to do her bidding, too! Maltese are a wonderful breed. We used to have a male puppy mill rescue, Mikey, but he had to be put to sleep last year. He made it 14 years though, which is a long run for the kind of start he got.

Pink is lucky to have found you and your family. :smiles:

After reading through quite a few threads on this forum this seems to be a wonderful resource for e-cigarettes with friendly, informative people. I've been off analogs since May and feel so much better.

There are so many different options in batteries, e-juice, cartomizers/clearomizers, etc. but it's been fun learning! I hope I don't do anything wrong here. New to forums and such...
