If I were you I would just get an Ego ,some Boge cartomisers ,and a Vision Vivi Nova .Either a 2.0 mini Nova or a 3.5 Nova. All of that should be in that price range and you will have quite a variety to make sure you have what you need.VV is just adding another variable to confuse you and you can get similar results with different resistance on the cartomisers and Nova's.

Kanger MT3 Replaceable Clearomizer with viewing window (Bottom Coil) - $5.99

The link above is to Carolina Vapes, and they only carry the chrome and the black versions so far.

The Kanger MT3 is the same thing as the Kanger T3 but with a slotted metal sheath around the tank. The T3 was the winner of Phil Busardo's recent Clearomizer Shootout.

    See if this helps...........

E-liquid is a mixture of varying amounts of about 4 different ingredients. Nicotine, PG (propylene glycol), VG (vegetable glycerin) and flavoring. Some liquids can have additional ingredients, but for the most part, these are the main ingredients to all e-liquid.
The amount of nicotine is dependent on the strength of nicotine in your e-liquid, but let’s say it is around 10% nicotine. Somewhere around 10% of your e-liquid will be flavoring. That leaves 80% of the liquid in your bottle for fillers, which dilute the flavoring and the nicotine. This is where PG and VG come in, and depending on how you like your vape, that determines the percentage of PG and VG in your e-liquid.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a thick, sweet liquid. VG produces luscious clouds of vapor. VG also imparts a sweeter taste to your liquid.
Propylene Glycol (PG) is a much thinner tasteless liquid. PG produces more of a “throat hit” than VG does, which simulates the feel of smoking better. PG also has a higher rate of sensitivity for some people, meaning that some people just can’t use PG in their vape.

I will take the first post here to welcome everyone to the new sub! This space is dedicated to all of the so-called advanced pv's out there. This could be anything from a Darwin to a first gen LT to the tried and true Provari. I hope this space proves to be beneficial to all. So anything dealing with an advance pv can be put here. Questions are welcome.

Well, my first plunge into VV vaping was the eGo Twist, not saying anything bad about it, the Twist is a great device and I have backed eGo from the day I bought my first 510. I purchased the eGo 1000mah VV battery and I must say it was quite long! Put a big tank on it and it’s a bit oversized for me! Now on to the Vision Spinner, I bought the 1300mah VV and the Spinner is a bit different, for one thing it is a fatter battery so the length is shorter than a standard eGo 1000 batt but with more power! The size is about 112mm length by 17mm diameter. Charging time is roughly 4 hours and I vape it at 4.3 to 4.8 volts most of the time and it’s giving me around 12 hours vaping time. It also has the 5 click shut off and offers 3 kinds of protection.
Short Circuit Protection: When short circuit happens, the battery will shut down and not function again until short circuit is removed. Safety Cutoff/Atomizer Protection: If you press the button for 8 seconds, the battery will be locked until the next press. Low Voltage Protection: When the battery voltage is lower than 3.3v, the battery will shut down. Voltage ranges from 3.3 to 4.8 and coupled with a Vision Vivi Nova it is one nice little vaping machine. This would be a great set up for any noobie or even a vet who would like a simple no fuss VV device.

Just wanted to drop in and let everyone who wasn't already aware know that Chris has added a new sub forum under "e-cig technical." This is called "hardware specific" and is a new space that is dedicated to hardware. Currently there are two sections in it with room for more if the desire/need arises. The two that are currently available are Rebuildable Atomizers (RBAs) and Variable Voltage Devices which encompass all VV and VW devices. Bring some traffic and questions to the new area! I think it will be a great new area for vets and newcomers alike! Thank you and come check it out! Yes, sadly I am the only one to start threads in either so I need some company over there!

What comes with these starter kits and how much do they want from them? That kind of information would be helpful before anyone can say whether these were good starter kits, but I don't think you can go wrong with eGo batteries.

For example, here's a good starter kit:

    http://www.theveteranvaper.com/joye-ego-kit-matte-black/

I would also pick up a T2, T2, Vision Vivi Nova or a Vision Vivi Nova Mini clearomizer/tank to go with your starter kit. They're all easy and convenient - just fill and go.

    Welcome!

The unit shouldn't matter Tami. Your twist doesn't put out a certain wattage per say. It produces a certain voltage, that combined with the resistance of the atomizer/cartomizer/whatever is what overall wattage your'e vaping at.

For example right now i'm vaping at an even 4 volts on my Provari Mini with a 1.7ohm atomizer and that gives me a total wattage of 9.4some watts.

If i were to use a 3ohm atomizer at say 5 volts my wattage would be roughly 8.3 some watts. I usually like to vape within the 8-10 watt range. Anything more is overkill FOR ME. Remember like everything else with vaping everyone likes different stuff. What works for me may not work for you. What troubles exactly are you having with that specific atomizer Tami? Because like Rixter that's one of my favorites.

Here's a helpful site for you to figure out what wattage your'e vaping at btw if your'e ever curious. All you do is plug in the voltage your'e vaping at and the resistance of your delivery system and hit calculate and it will tell you the overall wattage.

As a matter of fact I just got my order of Boge atomizers from them today. So far I've found them to be wonderful to deal with and have bought quite a few things from their store -- including a couple of Vision Spinners.

Tam reacted to TheSmokingMan in I Keep Returning To Analogs :-(
In 2009 when I started vaping, it took me about a week to completely quit the analogues. That was in August, by January 2010 I was smoke free and only vaping. I started with a very high strength juice (36mg) and weened my self down to Zero. I vaped more when I had cravings, that is how I got through the rough spots. I have again quit smoking (2 days now), I have been just vaping through the cravings, which have been fewer and fewer. I made a deliberate and conscious decision to quit this time, cold turkey with no hidden analogues on the property to fall back on. Since I am not mixing analogues with vaping, the vapor tastes better (in my opinion). In the past when I have "played" with quitting, I'd vape a little and then smoke. The vapor tasted kind of funky, but now that I am not smoking analogues and vaping, I'm just vaping, there is not that funky taste. Another thing that I also have going for me is, I don't go to bars and I don't hang around friends and family that smoke. I was the lone smoker in my circle of friends and family that I regularly see socially, so it isn't difficult for me to distance myself from smokers. If you are really serious about quitting smoking, then set a date and smoke your last analogue and just vape. Try not to hang aroung your smoking friends for a few weeks, until you are firmly off the analogues and just vaping for awhile. That's my advice, for what it is worth. We'll see how it goes for me these next few weeks.

I quit vaping a few months ago because my workplace banned it - I vaped mostly at my desk, which greatly increased my productivity vs going outside to smoke every hour...but corporate America being as PC as it is, I work in a "drug free workplace" and vaping is verboten. I can't use nasal snuff at work either. Figure that out!

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the new site looks wonderful! Good job guys! It made me feel good to stop by again. I hope everyone is doing well, and all the newbies are still getting the excellent and polite help that I got when I started here. This is a special forum.

Everyone have a Happy New Year!

Edit - Ooops! I better ditch that banner in my sig, hadn't I? I'm not smoke free anymore, alas.

Don't think that there is one juice and only one juice that you will like. Just because you didn't change cigarette brands for years doesn't mean that's the way you will vape. Most of us have several favorites which are very different from each other. As far as tobacco flavors I would suggest trying Turkish blend, some type of cigar or pipe flavor, or something that describes a "real" tobacco flavor. Also try Winston, Camel or Mboro, these seem less flavorful but that's how a cigarette is. Don't be afraid to try a desert flavor or something totally different, this could be your evening vape. Your tastes will probably change from day to day or from morning to night and your find yourself craving a different flavor. This is how it is for a lot of us. I don't know how we all were satisfied with the same brand of butts for so long, Vaping is much different that way.

    ,Congrats!!

About that cone thread hiding thing, I have one that is a small threaded collar, cylindrical -- not cone shaped. I don't know where I got it from but if you look around you could find it somewhere. This type will look better IMO. Neither one will restrict air flow.

    Here it is : http://www.empiremods.com/category_s/64.htm?searching=Y&sort=5&cat=64&show=10&page=2

Maybe with a large tank the cone one does look better. I use a small dct and a mini Vivi Nova and this one looks better.

    Christopher,

Thank you for all the hard work and long hours you spend making Vapor Talk a wonderful place for us all!

This morning when I checked VT I noticed the snowflakes falling and thought them lovely. Just now I noticed how the snowflakes change direction depending on where your pointer is on the screen. That's absolutely brilliant! And more than a little amusing for me today.

Just wanted to give a "thank you" shout for all the little things we may not notice but makes our experience here better and definitely more fun!
