  1. If you're wanting to start simple and then work up to a more advanced system, I'd suggest getting a couple of Vision Spinner batteries. They are more the pen style with built in batteries, variable voltage so you can easily control the amount of power by turning the round bottom, and are very simple to use. These are inexpensive and are perfect for a beginner who is not mechanically inclined. If you want something a little more advanced, you might look into other mods that are variable voltage/variable wattage. Since you say you're not mechanically inclined, I would suggest getting something with internal batteries so you don't have to mess with dual battery combos where you need to keep track of married pairs of batteries for safety reasons. We each have our favorites and you'll probably get many recommendations here. Me personally, I prefer the internal batteries even though I have more advanced set ups. It's the ease of use (user friendly), simplicity, and convenience factor for me that has me buying Eleaf iStick 50W. It's 4400 mAh, this means the battery has such a large capacity that I only have to charge it once every 3 - 5 days but it's not overly heavy. It fits well in my hand and has a nicely rounded form factor. Add to that an Aspire Triton 2 tank with a 1.8 ohm coil and I have a great set up that works for me. Vaping is a very subjective, personal thing so you'll have to find what works for you. What works well for one person... won't for another. Same thing with juice flavors. To one person the juice will taste like it's the best thing ever! While, to another person, it will taste like how wet socks smell. Seriously. Ask questions. We'll answer the best we can. Good for you to make the switch, you'll be glad you did.
  2. That's cute, Bebop!

Earthling gave a more thorough explanation than I could have. I would get a couple of the tiny one shot type of bottles of vodka to use for this purpose only if you don't want larger amounts. Then, you can put it into a glass jar with a lid so you have a handy receptacle to plop your coils into for a quick bath. If you can see the wicking material, then I would go with a few drops, look to see if the material looks saturated. If not, add a couple more drops. Repeat until it's nice and wet but not overly dripping. Otherwise, I'd add about 3 - 5 drops, fill up the tank and put it back together and let it sit for 10 - 15 minutes or more to let the wick get thoroughly saturated. Take a few dry, unpowered draws before hitting the power and see how that does. Each device/tank will have its own idiocycrasies so you'll want to do a little experimenting to see what works best for you and your tank.

Glad to have you here now.

Nope, the alcohol evaporates faster than water.
  6. I think it all depends on the person. Some people can switch flavors for a short time then go back to the flavor they couldn't taste and have it be fine while others take longer. Vaping is a very subjective thing that is different for everyone. Vaping dehydrates you due to the Propylene Glycol in the e-liquid.

Sure. Rinse in warm to hot water, soak for a bit in alcohol like vodka or Everclear (don't use rubbing alcohol), then let dry overnight before using again.
  8. If you vape one or a very similar flavor for too long you lose the ability to taste it. That also can happen with drinks, candy... anything that has a flavor to it. In your case (and this happens to all of us at one point or another), you just need to either vape a different flavor -- it doesn't have to be tobacco, it can be a non-fruity candy flavor, a bakery flavor... anything other than something similar to what you've been vaping. Doing that can help. Another thing that can help is to sniff a deep whiff of coffee grounds. The smell of the coffee grounds can help to "cleanse your palate." Make sure you're staying hydrated by drinking lots of water because vaping dehydrates you -- this can also decrease your ability to taste. Stick with regular, unflavored water, not juice, not soda, coffee or tea - stick with regular water.
  9. To each his own I guess. For me, I still prefer it for its smoking cessation properties rather than entertainment value. Yes, vaping has changed and will change further with August 8th just around the corner. *sighs*
  10. My batteries are always cool during and after charging as well. What battery charger are you using, Bebop? I'm still using the Nitecore i4 intellicharger.

  12. Welcome back, Chris! I think everyone will understand if you want to take a little while to get rested from your trip.
  13. Welcome back! Glad to hear that your recovery is almost done and that you're okay.
  14. Welcome to Vapor Talk. Help is available, just ask.
  15. What sometimes helps is if you turn the tank upside down and gently -- GENTLY blow into the mouthpiece. That has been known to blow the juice back into the tank.
  16. Try uploading your photo to a free Photobucket account. That should work. It's easier for us to try to identify a coil by sight rather than description.
  17. *joins in* Open it! Open it! Open it!
  18. I hope someone who has one comes along soon. Now, I'm curious about the coils as well!
  19. I still have five of the original Vision Spinners (1600 mAh) and four of the 900 mAh and still use them from time to time with Kanger Pro Tank mini 3. The Coolfire IV TC100 has an internal battery and TC/watts. I like the small form factor and it's light enough and fits well in my hand. Might be worth a look? And you know me and my love for the iStick 50W, it's a little heavier than the Coolfire 4 but then the 4 has 3300 mAh internal battery versus the 4400 mAh of the iStick.
  20. Welcome to Vapor Talk. I moved your post to the Introductions area and deleted the duplicate posts.
  21. The links I gave above to My Vapor Store, I use them quite often and always get fast, friendly service. I'd never recommend a site I wasn't personally familiar with or one where I was given less than good customer service.

  23. According to this website: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kangertech-Subtank-Mini-4-5ml-Tank-p/krstm-k.htm The subtank is 4.5 ml and the top tank is 4.0 ml http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kangertech-TopTank-Mini-Tank-p/krsz60.htm I'm going to go with... no.
