There was a man who came around,
To try and buy some vape in town.
He came upon a stylish place,
And entered in with modest grace.
He took his purse from pocket hence,
And found he had but ninety cents.
He scanned the offerings through and through,
To see what ninety cents would do.
The only thing would do at all,
Was five ml of Veggie Glycerol.
He called the staff from across the hall,
    And softly whispered, "Veggie Glycerol".
The staff man bellowed across the hall,
"This gentleman here wants Veggie Glycerol".
The customers stared, both one and all,
To see who'd ordered just Veggie Glycerol.
The wretched man felt ill at ease,
And softly whispered, "A bit of flavoured PG if you please".
The staff man bellowed across the hall,
"You get no flavour with Veggie Glycerol".
There is a moral to it all,
But damned if I know what it is.............

You know from reading both of your posts I think I have come to realize that the person you want to help has to really want to quit.  The last ones were wishy-washy.  I should have seen it.
I think vaping really only works when you really have the desire to quit.  I know that for me personally, when I started, I didn't want to quit, I just knew I needed to.  That is one reason it took so long to stick.  I went through months of cigalikes before I finally got a decent rig.  Even then it took a push from a great girl at a vape shop. (Sad thing is she has since slipped back into a a bad drug habit and lost her job)  It wasn't until I smoked the last cigarette, out of the last pack, out of the last carton, that I made my mind up to never buy them again, and I haven't.  It is hard to believe that it has been over a year since I have smoked.

A friend of my son's stopped by the house this weekend, and she asked if I could fix her MVP... the 510 threads were stripped-out.  Well, as luck would have it, I actually had an eGo-to-510 adapter, so once I screwed that down, she was back in business with her beat-up, hand-me-down MVP.
Well, after talking with her a little bit, I realized she was pretty poor on vape-gear, and was struggling at times to keep herself in coils, juice, and was having all kinds of issues with her donated batteries (mostly ancient Spinners and that MVP that looked like it had been buried in the desert for 1000 years).  Sooooo, I mixed her up 150ml of juice, gave her two boxes of Kanger BDC coils (1.8 Ohm), one KPT3 mini, and I actually parted with one of my beloved Aerotanks (V1's) AND my MVP 2.0!
She's been a friend of my son's for so long, she's like an adopted daughter to me, so at least I knew the gear was going to "family", and that it would be put to good use!  I know how she struggled growing up and I'd hate to see her go back to cigarettes, at such a young age (25), for lack of decent gear!

This is ridiculous. Think this through logically. We dont know the long term effects of vaping PG OR VG. Who is to say vaping a 50/50 blend is any safer than an 80/20 blend? The fact is we dont know anything. It sounds like your local vape shop employees are completely bullshitting you or aren't very smart lol.

Lately I have been mixing my juices 70VG 20PG 10H2O its been working out pretty well for me. Plus the added H2O helps keep the coil clean.

    HUH??
PG is the primary component of asthma inhalers, and has been for decades.  Granted, an asthma inhaler is atomizing the PG, not vaporizing it, but there is no difference in the "breathing machines" used in hospitals than your basic APV... both vaporize the PG.  A lot of fear-mongering goes on about vaping PG or VG... I even read a report recently talking about the harmful effects of vaporizing the water in e-liquids... Yeah, right... it's called STEAM, and is perfectly safe... unless you inhale gallons of it and DROWN!
Many companies offer 50/50 juices because that is what the customers prefer... it is the best mix of flavor, TH, and vapor... it has nothing to do with "safety"!!

This is why I'm such a big advocate for DIY. If things do go south, I will make sure people can still make the flavors they like even if they are nic free. I do have backup plans for the day that may put me and others in that position.

Rixter, other than first two slip ups within my first, heck, less than a month of vaping, I've had an actual hard to get over craving ONCE. That Thanksgiving, we were at my sister's, and darn near everyone was smoking except my mother and my brother and his family. The smell hit me, and I wanted one. I mean, it hit me hard that I wanted one.

Occasionally, through the last year and a half, I'll just out of the blue want a cigarette, but it's not a nicotine craving, it's more of a mental thing.

It reminds me of when I was trying to switch from cigarettes to a pipe.  That thing was always in my hand whether I was toking on it or not.  I used it for pointing, gesticulating, making a point etc.  Now with these big wonker batteries and tanks it's kinda the same thing.

My regular pub recently installed an air con room.  Prohibits smoking, although I enjoy watching the guys trying to get away with sneaking one.  I'm actually allowed to vape inside; chase clouds if I want, but..... most of the guys I drink with are smokers and I prefer the cool company over cool air.  Oh year, they charge a 50 sen premium for each bottle of beer drunk [(drunken? drank?) and I profess to teach English as a second language].in the comfort of air conditioning.

That is so awesome!  Congratulations. When I see numbers like this it gives me pause for thought.  I think at my age, and number of years smoking, ( I too was never without cigarette, pipe or cigar) I'd be close to signing up for the oxygen tent.  So many of us must have a great tolerance for poisoning ourselves, as I seemed to really make strides in recovery from the effects of almost 50 years of two plus packs a day.   Of course we all have been told ad nauseum that there's no recovery from COPD etc. yet somehow I'm now able to bound up stairs without wanting to make a heavy breathing phone call at the top, and swim now 1.5 lengths of the pool underwater.  No matter what the naysayers say, I can now wake up without hacking up a lung, sleep without limbs going numb, breathe through my nose while sleeping, never have panic attacks because I can't get to the top of my breath, no more making sure I have cough drops so I don't disrupt classes I'm trying to teach, on and on and on.  VT has been a big part of this journey.  It's very helpful to be able to see that others have had the same experiences along the road.

I did too.  those cigalikes were terrible and expensive for very little satisfaction.  I almost gave the whole thing up as a bad job till I saw a salesman toking on an eGo VV and saw that the damned thing actually worked.  My sig other surprised me with a starter kit after I raved about the salesman's showmanship.  The rest is satisfaction, analogue free, fun hobby history

2,240 days without a cigarette,15,123 dollars saved and 67,216 cigarettes not smoked.  I think it's the 67,216 that floored me the most.
no wonder I feel so much better !!!!

I started with e-cigarettes, the ones that actually looks like an analogue... those come with cartomizers with some crapy cigarette flavour, and they are just plain terrible... Vaporizers are designed for e-liquids, and they are a totally different thing.
