I remember how excited I was at 30 days, then 60, then 90 then 6 months and before you know it you are thinking in terms of years not months or days. The MAIN thing is today, it is what is in your immediate control. Like Jeff said years are just a whole bunch of "todays" strung together! Keep it up!

A lot of the bars in my area allow it. One place in particular has a a great "bungalow", as the call it, a second bar that's outside with a cozy little fireplace adorning the place. It's a smaller bar than the one upstairs, which is pretty big...but they allow me to vape there. And they are always curious as to what I'm vaping, how to get into it etc...

Exposing healthy lung cells to immersion in purified water will not only harm the cells, it will kill them... by causing the cell membranes to burst... SO, I call bias on the whole study. I need to do a study (with $5M in gov't grants) to prove that drilling holes in your head "may" lead to death.... and start with all these pseudo-scientists as lab-rats for my study [and people wonder why I got out of Medicine, health-professions, and research fields... I was tired of the bias, adjusting experiments to reinforce the conclusion they wanted, and big-pharma (or other interest groups) funding the research to provide data to back up the claim they wanted to show]

Absolutely most of your standard setups with higher PG ratio liquids will put out less vapor than a cigarette does smoke. There is also very little lingering smell. It is something constant I battle with since I use a higher VG blend. I use standard tanks, single coils and Vision Spinner 2s. I hold it in longer when I want less vapor. Just holding your draw in for 10-15 seconds will reduce the vapor exhaled by 75+%. I vape about everywhere I go and never have had a issue when holding it in and being discreet.

In essence, YES, it is water vapor. The PG and Nicotine are rapidly absorbed by the body, and on the exhale, trace (but measurable) amounts of Glycerine are found, but mostly it is water. There is an older study (which was quite conclusive on these findings), which found the exhale to be mostly water, with trace amounts of Glycerine, extremely low traces of nicotine (1/35th the level of passive second-hand smoke of a traditional cigarette), and zero findings of toxic or carcinogenic substances. Also notable in the study: No glycerine was detected in air during cigarette smoking. On the other hand,72μg/m3 were detected during e-smoking. This amount is much lower than the threshold safety imit (TWA-TLV10mg/m3)and much lower than the threshold for moderate risk. However, it’s important to note that acrolein, a molecule formed by dehydration of glycerine due to high temperatures, was present in the air of the room during cigarette smoking test (20μg/m3). In fact, it is well known that glycerine is often added to moisten tobacco. During combustion glycerine is transformed into acrolein. The fact that no combustion is involved when using e-cigarettes probably plays a fundamental role in the absence of acrolein from indoor air during their use. As everyone knows, acrolein is a very toxic and irritating substance. Moreover it is currently suspected of having a fundamental role in the carcinogenic process.

Not an inhaler, more of a cig-a-like, but without a battery or vapor, delivering 0.028 mg of nicotine per 10 puffs... Looks kinda gimmicky to me... and from Arista labs (Accredited tobacco testing laboratory). Which immediately makes me suspicious...

It might be something I would use on a very long flight or something like that but the rest of the time I will be vaping. I feel bad for those that cannot vape openly; it is such a great means to educate people about it. Almost all my clients at work know about it and many have made the switch themselves. I bet over 100 people now vape that used to smoke after they saw how successful it was for me. Its a great feeling. I would continue to try and educate those around me so maybe the doors open a bit.

The main proponent of the anti-vaping information on the website is a PsyD. (doctor of psychology). This is a known branch of psychology that promotes drug therapy. Again, big pharma raises it's ugly head..

I remember family members who were Fire Fighters 20-30 years ago... and they were ENCOURAGED to smoke, to condition their lungs to tolerate the environment of their jobs... oh, how times have changed Tam's info is really good... you just have to try a few juices to find what you like, and what suits you. Tobacco blends of e-liquid do not "smell" like traditional cigarettes, because the nasty smell of those is from BURNING of the plant material (and the 4000+ added chemicals). There are some juices, however, that will have a very good "taste" of tobacco... again, flavor is subjective, so one that I think is "good", you may think tastes like wet socks Another thing to consider is that as you vape, your taste and smell receptors will HEAL, which means you will begin to taste/smell things you forgot existed... and foods/drinks will all taste differently next week, the week after, and perhaps in 2-3 months, you'll regain 99% of your pre-smoking taste-buds. Equipment is subjective too, and you'll have fun trying different devices... TRUST ME! As for something pocketable and stealthy, you'll probably want to go with an iStick (the new iStick mini is due out any day, too), or an eGo-style battery (stick-battery with button near the top) in a 650mAh, 900mAh, or one of the XL's in 1300mAh (fatter, but same height as 900mAh battery). Higher mAh just means more puffs between charges... higher the better, but that also means more size Tanks, also subjective... but most will agree you can't go wrong with Kanger tanks (best prices), Aspire Nautilus-mini (or full-size), Davide tanks, and there are a few other preferred tanks, too... Kanger, Aspire, and Innokin tanks are probably the most readily available from your local shops, though... Feel free to ask more specific questions... we all have opinions, and are happy to share

That "inhale feel" you're talking about is referred to as "throat hit" in the vaping world. While vaping will give you a similar sensation, it's not going to be exactly the same as inhaling on a real cigarette. The amount of vapor you get depends on several different factors. You can lessen the amount of vapor with your e-liquid ratios. Inside e-juice, you have the option (with most vendors), for how much nicotine, PG/VG ratios you want. Here is a rough breakdown for you, it's not exact but will give you an idea of what does what. higher nicotine = more throat hit If you smoke full flavored cigarettes, that's about the equivalent to 24 mg of nic. Lights are 12 mg, ultra lights are 6 mg. Keep in mind that when you start vaping, you're going to be getting off of a lot of things other than just nicotine. Many of us on the forum will recommend you start at around 24 mg of nic to get you through the cravings and withdrawal from the 4000+ carcinogens that your body got used to smoking cigarettes that you'll no longer get with vaping. You can work on lowering the nic level later when you're totally off the analogs. Here's an example: When I smoked, I used to go through a pack of Marlboro Lights per day.When I took up vaping I started with 24 mg of nic in my juice. That got me through and within a few months I got a few other lower nic juices and bounced around a bit. Even now, two and a half years later, I keep everything from 24 mg (when I can't vape as often), 12 mg for my "normal" vaping, some 6 mg and even 0 nic for when I'm chain vaping and/or an hour or two before bedtime. With nicotine being a stimulant, I don't want my sleep disturbed because I'm hyper on nicotine. PG is propylene glycol. This is the flavor carrier in the juice and also gives you that throat hit. Higher PG = more flavor, thinner juice, more throat hit, less vapor VG is vegetable glycerin. More VG = thicker juice (can gunk up coils faster), slightly sweeter flavor, more vapor, less throat hit, not a good flavor carrier Keep in mind that, although you want less vapor, if you're wanting to get off of traditional cigarettes, seeing the vapor is part of the psychological "satisfaction" we get from smoking/vaping. Most people start out at a 50 PG/50 VG ratio and go from there. If you inhale and hold it for 10 seconds, you'll see a noticeable decrease in the amount of vapor that comes out no matter what your PG/VG ratio. That's how we "stealth vape" in situations where we're not supposed to be vaping. Ask lots of questions. We have a wonderful group of friendly and informative members here. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

Bought some coils and some pyrex replacement tubes. Also looking for a new tank ($20-$30 range) for my Spinner 2 or/and iStick. Hopefully Raptor Vaper gets back to me about the tank he has for sale or the Vapor Talk store on which one I'll be buying.

If your concerned that it is metal, put a magnet to it and see if the magnet picks up the particles. If it does, then you know. If it don't, then it is as Bebop said, it is just bits of char. Bebop is correct though in this case in that It is a 99.9% chance of just being char.

I've gotten that with the stuff that I have from the vape store... Unlabeled and I'll tell you that I never got to wat it was.. I was first starting to build attys and I started seeing the same thing... No clue wat the stuff is I figured it was my juice cooking into the coils and blackening gunking up to coils... It dry burns away ect but it's always back.. I have pure kanthol 24 and it's too low for way I vape and build so I have not compared the two? Btw.. One days vaping too..

Hahaha I know, I first tried it when I called my vape shop and asked for wick and they said they had cotton bacon. I was so confused lol. Rixter and Tam, yeah you're right. Looks like my fluke multi is going back to school with me. I just tested a build in my new RDA, it's a tricoil with 7 wraps of 24 gauge. It's reading at 1.1 ohm ! I really thought it'd be a lot lower, somewhere in the mid sub ohm, to tell you the truth........just goes to show you don't really know till ya know!

I keep saying I've been vaping for over 2 yrs now..I've learned alot, always try to help others and upgraded to where I'm at now..mostly from 6 other different vaping forums...I just recently joined this one but I'm not gonna stay ..There just isn't too many people here that are into high-end mods, or cloud blowing competitions that are held all over the place here in southern CA.. Thousands of people attend these competitions as alot of us enjoy blowing good clouds..and learning about how it's done along the way..I'm one of them, and at this point all I can say is Keep'on Vapin'on..so long, take care..

Well if you truly believe that you won't crave another one, and that this was the only time, then get rid of them now!!!] Better safe than sorry. Because more than likely, the urge to have another will sneakily arise within you again. A feeling that can easily enough be distracted if you don't have a handy pack of smokes. However if you so (in)conveniently have a handy pack, the temptation shall surely be as strong as the tricky devil on your shoulder telling you that you are strong enough to just have one, and no more again EVER! ....just like last time!!!! CIGARETTES MEET THE GARBAGE CAN!!
