    Welcome to VT
How long did you smoke, and how many packs per day?  Emphysema (a lung disease, proven to be accelerated by smoking) is something that you've probably had for a long time prior to starting vaping, and I find it hard to believe that your symptoms just began, 18 months after quitting smoking.
Vaping normally has a positive effect on lung tissue of an ex-smoker.... meaning that once you quit smoking and replace your nicotine and hand-to-mouth habit with vaping, your lungs will begin to repair.  Many of us ex-smoking vapers have received very positive results from our doctors after just a few months of vaping, and those of us who have vaped for years (after 30+ years of smoking) may never have the lungs of a 20-yr-old athlete, but we have greater lung capacity, stamina, and better overall health because we quit smoking.  Many ex-smokers who have taken up vaping have reported their COPD and other breathing issues have lessened or even subsided after starting vaping (and quitting smoking)!
Vaping does not cause Emphysema... not ONE documented case...  Vaping may be newer than cigarettes, but it's been around over a decade, and if any of the vaping products caused a lung disease, it would be wide-spread and documented....

@Tam and @Walt are correct...  Increasing the volume of creamy flavors (Vanilla, Malted Milk, Cream, Ice Cream, etc.) will reduce the "bite" of the fruit flavors.  Like Walt, I've found that certain brands of fruit flavors are much harsher than others, and some of the "candy" flavors are very citrus-acidic and artificial tasting (just like Tam said).  I also prefer Capella and TFA (The Flavor Apprentice) fruit flavors over others.... CAP are some of the best IMO...
I would also suggest lowering the candy flavor (or eliminating it all together) and play with the ratio of Blueberry and malted-milk/ice-cream flavorings until you find the right balance.  Mix in 5ml - 10ml batches until you find the ratio you like best... then you can make gallons if it if you wish

Yeah, the Magneto is a great mech mod... of all the ones I own or have owned, those with magnetic buttons are my favorites... I really should get one out of mothballs someday and fire it back up?
I really liked my Copper Penny, but it had a spring-fire-button... so I ordered the magnet conversion for it, lol... the magnets are the only parts of it that aren't pure copper now, but the button is 50x better... and it wasn't horrible with a spring to begin with!

Schools do test for Nicotine, but not always.  If your son is an athlete, then, YES, they will test for Nicotine.  If they do a urine test, it is not always conclusive or accurate results for Nicotine, but if they do a hair or blood test, it will be more accurate, and hair tests can show Nicotine (or drug use) from many months ago.
Our school does not require annual drug screening of students (state law forbids it), but if you are a student-athlete, your parents must sign consent for random testing.  Thanks to our "betters" in Legislature, Nicotine is considered as bad as Heroine, so they do test for it (as well as steroids and a host of other drugs), and will suspend/expel any student who tests positive (unless of course they are the star quarterback and/or child of a school admin... grrrr).  The only way to get them back into school is to PAY for independent lab test to disprove the school's test... TWICE over the course of 2-weeks.  Even if you prove your child is not using any drugs or performance enhancers, they're branded with the label, still not allowed to participate in sports, and their record will still show the suspension/expulsion... without any apology...

Earthling789 got a reaction from Wajd.David in Burnt taste after replacing the coil
The "glass" tank is normally Pyrex, which is a tempered glass which perfectly fine to boil... think of your glass baking dishes or a laboratory beaker... they are made of Pyrex glass...
BUT, you should boil the water, then set it aside to cool... THEN place the parts in the hot water (after the heat is removed)... allow them to cool with the water so they will not warp or crack due to extreme temperature changes.  Putting metal or Pyrex in hot water should not break them, but taking them out of HOT water, into cooler air will cause warping, cracking, or breakage in extreme cases.

Earthling789 got a reaction from Wajd.David in Burnt taste after replacing the coil
Once you burn a coil, the taste permeates the entire tank.  The best way to clean it is to take it apart, clean with dish-soap and hot water (tap-hot)... use a brush or small sponge to get into all the crevices and don't forget the drip-tip, too.  Rinse well!!  Now, take a pan of water and boil it... once it boils, set if off to cool and put the tank parts into the VERY hot water... leave them there to cool with the water.  Once cool, you can air-dry them overnight and the tank should be good to go.
You can also rinse with rubbing alcohol after you've cleaned and used the boiling water soak, but be aware that you MUST air-dry it for a day to ensure all the alcohol is gone... or you can soak in alcohol for a few hours... then air-dry overnight, then let the parts soak in boiled water again to flush out any alcohol residue.
Many of us will soak our tanks in drinking alcohol (Vodka, moonshine, Everclear, etc.) which would be safe to vape any residual that may be left, but being 17-18 years old, I would not advise it for you...

Same here... fruity, tart juices tend to make a coil last way longer for me.  My heavy vanilla or heavy sweet juices tend to last half as long.
On my RTA's, like @Walt, I get a month or more out of the coil, but I may have to re-wick it every 7-14 days?  A small price to pay for the convenience of a great vape and long lasting coil...
Another thing to consider is the number of tankfulls you're going through, compared to your roommate?  Sometimes, when we look at the number of days, we're compare apples to Buicks... If you were a heavy chewer, you may be a heavy vaper... a coil may last you through 10 tanks, but you rip through 10 tanks in 3 days... whereas your roomate may vape a tank a day, thus his coils last 10 days (same 10 tankfulls)?

I got my latest from the VT Fire-sale...
I picked up the last of the Kanger Top-box minis (a red one), and the last of the Kanger Subox Nano kits (a black one).  I also picked up another Kanger Toptank Nano in black because they were cheap and I could always use another.
The Subox Nano kit and Topbox mini kit will be Christmas presents  Love a good sale price on gifts

I pulled this (well written) answer off Reddit, where I read it a while back...

I know exactly what problem you are having. I have the same unit and I run into this almost every time I refill the tank. The problem is the coil is not making a connection to the base of the unit. There's two solutions to this problem, first one is pushing down and turning the top of the unit left (basically opposite of what you would do if you were taking the top off to refill) as you rotate you will feel a series of grooves. Try stopping in each groove and firing the unit.
Second one is loosening the coil a bit. I have always tightened the coil as much as possible, I realized backing out the coil just a rotation or two would make it closer to the metal base of the tank.
I'm guessing it is flashing five times rapidly? If so, it means resistance too low. Which would mean you don't have the coil screwed on tight enough to the top or it isn't reaching the bottom of the tank solidly enough. That or the coil is slanted and causing the short circuit warning.
    The manual here says:
    Functions: Short circuit protection:
1, When the short circuit occurs before working, the button light flashes for 5 times and then powers off. 2, When the short circuit occurs while working, the button light flashes for 3 times before short circuit (reset).
    Atomizer protection:
eGo AIO has a 15 second run time protection. The light will flash 10 times if the button is pressed for more than 15 second.
    Low voltage protection:
When the battery voltage drops lower than 3.3V, the button light flashes for 40 times and the device will power-off. Charge the device to power device back on.
    Resistance test:
1, When the resistance at the output end is >5ohm, the light flashes slowly if you press the button. 2, When the resistance at the output end is <0.3ohm, the light flashes quickly for 5 times, suggesting the ohm is too low or potential short circuit.

To wrap coil wire, I've used drill bits and even the ink cartridge from a ball-point pen (Zebra metal ink cartridges work great, lol)... as long as it is round and the proper diameter, and you can slide the coil off after you wrap it, you're good to go...
As for wire... it is BEST to use proper coil wire, designed specifically for making vaping coils... Kanthal, Ni200, Titanium, or one of the variants of Stainless Steel (SS316L is my preference).  I would be cautious of using make-shift wire from a craft or hobby store because you have no idea exactly what is in it or how it would react to heating... or what type of toxins would be released as you heat it....

Have you considered the Kanger Subtank Mini?  They're great tanks, good flavor, plenty of pre-made coil choices available, and they come with an RBA deck so you  can build your own coils to suit your needs/preferences.

Yeah, the K3 is like a large eGo... 1200mAh battery and 1.8 Ohm coil (with 2ml tank).... I suspect it vapes like a Nautilus with 1.8 Ohm coil (MTL only)
Since you don't have any real adjustments, and I don't think coils of any other resistance are available... the only thing you can control is the juice.  @VapeMama suggested moving to a thinner juice, and that will be my suggestion as well.  Most of MTL all-in-one devices prefer juices that are of a specific thickness... The Templar AIO likes 50/50 (PG/VG) juices, but can handle 30/70 if you don't chain vape it.  I'm willing to guess the K3 is more like the vape of a Nautilus (the coils even look like the Nautilus BVC), which works best with thinner juices... 70/30 (PG/VG) to 50/50 max.  Some "clear" juices can be a bit thicker, but 60% VG is about all they can handle (most likely what your problem is being caused by).
Try a thinner juice, or add a few drops of PG to your existing juice (a few drops of distilled water in the tank also will thin a thick liquid), and see how that works out for you?

Congrats on getting engaged, too!  Once June rolls around you'll find you'll be moving into the best time of your life   Just don't stress over wedding plans or over-extend your budget... you can be married for free or $100K wedding... but the end result is the same... you're still married... so put that into perspective and save some $ for the two of you AFTER the wedding, rather than a big show for family and guests.

Ahh, yes, we have several where we live in the woods... and they are quite the little thieves too, lol...  I just put out new solar sidewalk / driveway lights and noticed the "heads" started going missing.  The other day I watched one climb down from the tree, run over to the driveway, pull the head from the stake, and run back into the tree with it!  Now there are several of my solar lights about 40' up in the big Hickory tree at the bottom of my yard
They also clean out my bird-feeders regularly, and are quite vocal when it's empty...  I've not put anything in the feeders since mid-summer, so I think stealing my lights is their way of retaliation?

I've yet to have an eLeaf / iStick product make it a year... most have died within 6-months or less... usually it is a battery failure (failure to charge, failure to hold a charge, circuitry problems), or outright hardware failure, usually with the buttons.  After my 6th one, I finally learned my lesson and went back to 18650 mods... and won't buy eLeaf products anymore
Oddly enough... I recently ran into the person I gifted my MVP 2.0 (purchased in April 2014), and she said it is still working (she gave it to her mother)... No, it doesn't last all day like it use to... but it still WORKS!
