So after winning a KPT in Brian's contest,I decided I wanted some other goodies to go in the pkg. with it Shipping was fast,I ordered Sun. and it was here Wed. The KPT is in my wife's possession but I hear it's very nice lol. I had some trouble with my new goodies so I opened a ticket to see if Brian would walk me through making it work since I couldn't figure it out. After a few e-mails and a phone call we decided it wasn't working as it should. Now we all know that when a vendor sends out a sealed pkg. they have no control over what the Mfg. puts in it,but Brian went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with my new toy.The replacement arrived today,just 3 days after I first contacted him.Not only did I receive fast courteous service but he went the extra mile in a number of ways. Brian is definitely a White Hat kinda guy as most of us already knew even before he became a supplier.I'm happy to have even more proof of what a great person he is. Chris has developed a great forum full of awesome folks and is himself top notch. When we add in Mark,Jeffb,Birddog,Brian,Uma and many many others it's no wonder so many of us have found a home here!!!

Hey everyone! Picked up smoking (after 10 years off) in September '11. Tried e-cigs as a last ditch effort in March of this year, and seriously haven't even thought of an analog since (I even gave away the half pack I had left)! Needless to say, I'm in love with this technology and honestly enjoy vaping more than I ever enjoyed smoking. Looking forward to learning more about the ins-and-outs here... cheers! K

I loved those machines. They had a tendency to calm the adults in our mist. Today everyone is road rage crazy angry. Except, of course, the Vapers, who seem to carry around their own portable machines wherever they go. You can spot a vaper by the backpack(s) they lug around

This has nothing to do with 'ecigs', so i guess it goes here. Anyway, I saw a post on another thread by 'Nana' about the old analog 'vending machines' way back when. I had forgotten all about those. Now I don't recall if I ever used them or not, but I sure do remember my dad using them when I was a kid, and I even remember when, depending on the price at the time, the analog companies would sometime include your 'change' inside the cellophane wrapper. Yup, I can still see those packs he would buy with two pennies inside the wrapper. Wow. Anyone else recall that?

I remember those machines! Don't remember the change part though. I think it has been about 10 years since I actually saw one. It was about the time all the restaurants and bars went smoke free. I don't think those machines were ever updated either, like soda machines. I miss that spring action pull knob. I wonder if there is a graveyard for them, like the old Casino signs in Vegas. I am pretty sure when I was in high school the legal age for tobacco products was 16 in my state, the drinking age was 18 at the time. I used to buy chewing tobacco for all my guy friends my sophomore year and I was the only with a car too. lol

Every time I see prices go up on analogs I'm so thankful that I was able to switch to vaping.

I remember those. When I first started smoking cigarettes from the vending machines on base were 15 cents a pack. You put in a quarter and got the pack of smokes with a dime taped to it for change. Shortly after that prices went up to 25 cents per pack. I also remember saying that I'd quit when they got to a dollar each because I wasn't paying that much for cigarettes. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Me quitting, that is. Prices just kept climbing from there.

Do you mean ruin or run them down?If it is just running the battery down quicker a higher resistance clearo would probably do the trick.As a rule low resistance less than 3 ohms anything will run down batteries quicker than high greater than 3 ohms.There is no reason a clearomiser should ruin any battery.I would suggest switching over to an Ego type battery to use with a Vision clearomiser or Vivi Nova,I think you would be happier in the long run and you can still use your V2 with refillable carto's .

Yep.... I didn't see the responses until now - thank you guys! The wife and I just upgraded to a "Uno Vapor" brand for $34.00 each with a (manual) 650 battery and a clearomizer - he threw in some juice - which was nice, but the juice wasn't what I was used to or it was just not good for my taste - either way, I already was filling my Krave filters with a mix of nicotine juice (Tsunami 18 tobacco flavor and mixing it with Wilton Glycerin)- so putting that into these? WOW! What a difference - better hit - more vapor - - - the Krave was great for starters, but these are miles above that - The guy said it was part of the Ego company at the local weekend flea market - but I can't see that they are off hand, but at least the battery is a replaceable one without much grief because it looks exactly like the ego brand , and the wife LOVES the clear - and the ease of filling these .... pretty cool ! ! ! ! I'm afraid of what my next upgrade will cost me!!!! LOL!!!!

My wife uses these designer bedazzled 650s I got her and they burn at 4.2 and last about 18 hours. I have been amazed how long they last especially the way she vapes lol.

Could be the way the air is directed. I have a twist and a non VV I also prefer the twist. I get better vapor and flavor. Look at the notches right above the threads mine are different from both batteries.

I wouldn't be that concerned about vaping around anyone, kids included. Unless you live on a space station with canned air, there are much more damaging pollutants in the air than what you exhale while vaping (much worse, in fact, than even second hand smoke from analogs). I knew a girl (vegan.../facepalm) that would go into fits of rage because someone would be smoking in their car while she was waiting in a drive-thru. I told her, "you have your window down and there are two cars in front of you, with another three cars behind you. All those cars, including yours, are spewing out deadly toxins as you sit here with your window down waiting in a McDonalds drive-thru to order a fast food salad that you have deemed healthy. And you want to complain about the guy in the car ahead of you sitting by himself smoking in the car with his window down. ReAlLy?"

Actually, atomizers predate cartomizers by quite some time, but they did have a lot to do with the birth of cartomizers. The very first e cigs were fed by poly-filled cartridges that you filled with e-liquid and slid into the end of an atomizer. The saturated poly-fill in the cartridge pressed against a stainless steel "bridge" above the atomizer's coil to transfer the juice into the atty's internal wick & coil. It didn't take long before some more adventurous early vapers tried dripping juice straight onto the atomizer's coil (bypassing the use of the cartridge) and found it to be quite tasty. Later, the atomizer & cartridge were combined into one unit for convenience and the cartomizer was born, but due to the excellent flavor it provides, the "dripping" trend remains alive (and very popular) to this very day. Sorry...I got off topic.

Yeah, that brings back memories. They still had them at some grocery stores when I was in high school. So, we would go hit those places during our lunch, and get as many packs as we could before the store manager would chase us off. Then, we'd run back to the park, and sell those packs to our friends for an upcharge. True dat!!! My girlfriend keeps urging me to get a "man-bag," as my pockets are usually overloaded these days, LOL!!!

I remember those, wow that was almost 20 years since I seen 1. Speaking of vapers when I see 1 I always wonder what kind of gear they lug around, what flavors, any back ups, do they stealth vape or do like me and vape anywhere without caring if people stare.

true that! especially since here in ohio analogs went up another dollar a pack so instead of 5.63 a pack.... i would be paying 6.72 a pack after tax for my marlboro virginia blends.

Ok, I'm a happy camper! I just picked up a PG batch from the shop (The self-proclaimed "juice nazi" was hesitant to brew it 100%PG - not really sure why, but who am I to judge lol). I did a quick mix by topping off my tank (probably about 4:6 PG/VG) and giving it a good shake. The difference is shocking. No pops, just smooth, silent vapor! Could the solution really be this simple?! I'm going to make a proper 50/50 mix when I get home, but this is promising!

My grandfather actually purchased one for his garage and had a delivery guy come every week and fill it up. He ran his business out of his garage and alot of the customers smoked and bought them while they were there. I always wondered what the hell it was and why these guys bought little boxes of candy cigarettes instead of getting the 4 pack at the dollar store. LOL!

A cheapo 'try it and see' can be a double edged sword. It lowers your risk, but....it may not tune, or hold tune well, or it may be difficult or harder to play, or it may just not sound good. Any or all of these can make one think it is not for them. My first guitar was a 12 string acoustic 'Framus', made in Germany and bought at a PX in 1971. I still have it. It has been a six string most of it's life, as I found in 12 string mode, it was pretty much just for strumming. And that 'strumming' is only effective on the downstroke as the pick never touches the top four smaller strings on an upstroke. I've used the Framus to perform, and have kept it all these years because it is as well built as many guitars that cost much more. I wouldn't mind having a 12 and a 6, but if any 'picking' is to be done much, I find the dual octave sound of 12 string notes to get irritating. As for tuning and stringing.......it's basically like doing two 6 strings at the same time. As for tuning, All strings are the same notes, the top four pairs being an octave apart, and the bottom two pairs being the same. BTW, my advice for a try out is ALWAYS buy a quality instrument USED. Chances are you can get exactly what you paid for it if you sell. But my hunch is that if you get a good 12, and once the thrill is gone, 9 times out of ten you will reach for your 6 string.

Cartridge+atomizer=cartomizer, like a 2 in 1 Cartomizers typically don't last as long as atomizers without a bit of maintenance, but they hold more juice at at time and you can get a tank carto that will hold enough for days. Dripping is when you drip e-liquid onto the wick of the atomizer, which should help with the burnt taste you get. Try 2-3 drops at time directly in the atty and see how that works

If you're not sure you want to play again (yeah, right....I know its killing you inside), then the El-Cheapo No-Name Craptastic Beginner's Wonderbox will do you just fine until you make the inevitable decision to return to where you belong, and buy the damn Ovation. Honestly, if you can afford to drop the cash for the Ovation, you can afford an extra $150 to "see if you still like playing."

Thank you Ulma, you are most kind. I appreciate your concern. As vapers, I think we ought to be sticking together and looking out for one another, especially when it comes to safety issues. I want to clarify, that although it seemed to me that vapor production suddenly ceased, it may indeed have been trailing off, I just wasn't paying attention because I was so busy enjoying my quad chocolate blend (I really did vape the hell outta it!). I was also occupied on the computer. But I have pretty much put it behind me now. And am ready to move on. I will be monitoring the battery and vapor output in the future. I guess with a purely mechanical mod, that is the only way to prevent over discharge (I don't think any external fuse or onboard battery protection circuit kicks in at exaclty 3.2 volts, the threshold for my battery I believe is 2.75v before it trips. The good thing about those vapesafe fuses is they can also be used whilst charging your battery to prevent damage to the battery or other catasrophe. As far as a not totally closed endcap, I have heard it mentioned with other mods before. The mod fires fine with the fuse in there, and it is only fraction of a milimeter we are talking about. Almost a hair. Really, I am not worried about it any more.

Hmmm... I hadn't considered that. I'm pretty sure the juice is 100%VG, and it's definitely a lot more viscous than most liquids I've seen people use. Hopefully I can swing by tomorrow and have them brew a 50/50 to see if it makes a difference. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I am far from expert on this but..... it does sound like the liquid is having some trouble wicking to the heating element fast enough. VG liquid is pretty thick and can have trouble wicking, especially at the lower resistance. I use 90% PG and 10% VG. still occasionally get crackling, but much less burnt hits.

That was my first set up and totally happy with it, even thinking about ordering another to have back ups.

The term "drip tip" is a little misleading as they are not solely for use in loading a dripping atomizer. They are also simply used as a mouthpiece for cartomizers, tanks, RBAs, RDAs, or pretty much anything vapeable.

I got the base for my T3s, but the set of Evod heads that I have won't fit into the base. The metal disk (seperate the thread and the wick) on the evod head is larger than the hole on the T3 base. The disk will stay on top of the base in stead of going inside the rim. So, the base won't screw all the way in and the top of the head don't make contact with the center air tube.

Prepare to be more amazed. You'll probably start feeling better in short order. Smokers are going to start smelling funny to you, lol. I wish great success to you and your wife. It's so worth it. Keep reading and learning. There is more to discover and even greater satisfaction not to mention cost savings.

Unless you are like me....I am flavor challenged. I have always had a very hard time with flavors being too weak. Mind you, I can taste food etc without any problem. I got into the world of mixing my own because I like strong flavors and they can be hard to come by out in the vaping world. cinnamon is a nice strong one. But I haven't noticed a big problem switching flavors after cinnamon...so long as its one of my mixes.
