  1. Thanks, IMEDICx90... This morning, the filler is actually vaping BETTER than the wick did. I have had this a short time, but the flavor seems better than before ! I was thinking as I looked at it this morning that the filter material is designed to hold liquid and heat up in a cart, and in theory it should be fine... If this helps someone else out in a quick fix... I've helped another ! I will try the embroidery thread though! We'll see how long this lasts for me. The wick was just over a week and it was done, so if this lasts a week... I'm really happy and the taste is way better! The Krave was ok but original cart got a "dried out" taste half way through a cart... once I dripped it wasn't an issue. Now, this way in a clearomizer - it's thicker than a wick but it's doing the same thing and it seems to be delivering the taste better as well! I'm using tsunami and I'm cutting it just a little with Wilton vegetable glycerine... ordered some PG off ebay to try it - this forum has given me ALL kinds of help, so I figured I'd share what I've tried! I saw somewhere on the carts that some were using foam from aquarium tanks, I might try that too! It seems that these are sold wick only, wick and atomizer or complete new tips... I wanna go around it safely and where it works - so far so good!
  2. I'll assume this is form of "modding" - and forgive me if I don't use the right terms yet, I'm still new to the vaping world and loving every minute of it! I had a Krave kit with about 10 filters left, was reusing/dripping into them until I realized there are other TOYS out there! I laid those down but kept them as backups for now and I bought an EGO for the wife and I about a week ago, well... We are LOVING it ... Batteries are 650 and 1100mah so we're set for backups........when suddenly the burnt taste showed up on my Ego this afternoon! ( I AM using it alot ) I thought it was the atomizer........ maybe it's the wick......sure enough it was the wick. I was thinking - what do I have that can act as a wick right now! Candles? Nahhh... wax would be hard to get off!!! I'd read on here somewhere of the dreaded burnt taste - and I do have an extra clearomizer, but wanted to figure it out without wicks. I popped it open and sure enough the wick was dark - burnt... I thought what can i do? I know some of you might not "like" the idea, but I popped open one of the old Krave cartomizers, pulled out the filter (which was pretty dry). I unrolled it, cut it into a U shape pretty thin, and used it for a wick on my clearomizer - I primed it - and it worked right away. No burnt taste, but the difference in 24 mg and the 18 I'm using now is evident by taste at the moment until it soaks in and clears it up but I can taste the difference a little. The draw is also a little "harder" I assume from it being filter material not wick material - but it's working in a pinch! I haven't been a member long and I figured someone else probably thought of this, but figured I'd share - and it's been a couple months for the wife and I not using analogs... and I LOVE this forum!!! On a side note, we went to Taco Bell last week and it tasted like slop, so I quit Taco Bell as well! Has anyone else used something besides wicks.... as wicks? Now... to order those wicks......
  3. Yep.... I didn't see the responses until now - thank you guys! The wife and I just upgraded to a "Uno Vapor" brand for $34.00 each with a (manual) 650 battery and a clearomizer - he threw in some juice - which was nice, but the juice wasn't what I was used to or it was just not good for my taste - either way, I already was filling my Krave filters with a mix of nicotine juice (Tsunami 18 tobacco flavor and mixing it with Wilton Glycerin)- so putting that into these? WOW! What a difference - better hit - more vapor - - - the Krave was great for starters, but these are miles above that - The guy said it was part of the Ego company at the local weekend flea market - but I can't see that they are off hand, but at least the battery is a replaceable one without much grief because it looks exactly like the ego brand , and the wife LOVES the clear - and the ease of filling these .... pretty cool ! ! ! ! I'm afraid of what my next upgrade will cost me!!!! LOL!!!!
  4. We're still cigarette free - thinking of upgrading though! You were right!
  5. I've only been a couple weeks not smoking , but my "chronic" cough has stopped, I'm not wheezing at all, I'm able to go up and down stairs without getting out of breath, and it's definitely a noticeble and noteable difference... I'm loving this ! Keep trying with your friend! I like what one comment was that the COPD patients are not going back !!!! NICE !
  6. Thanks for all your support and humor everyone ! "And the vape goes on".... Still not smoking ! Now I should be considered a non-smoker !
  7. Hello - I've been a smoker 30 plus years.... about 8 years ago I stopped buying brand name smokes and have been "rolling my own" pipe tobacco instead of cigarette tobacco - to cut the cost down, but get my fix. I went into my local tobacco shop two weeks ago and asked the woman about the ecigarettes. She said she wouldn't let me buy the ones that were in the case and told me to wait until she received the "real" ones. She's been there since the place opened and is always sweet and personable... so I trust her... the e-cigarettes I were pointing out were 2.99 each and she said they junk........ I went back in Tuesday afternoon. I bought my pipe tobacco and tubes with no intent of quitting. I bought her suggestion of a "Krave" disposable, was AMAZED. I went back and picked up the starter kit, when the battery went out - I did smoke a few cigarettes - after using the disposable - so about 5 on Tuesday, about 4 on Wednesday. This morning will be 24 hours without one. This is indescribable as to how this is working on me. I bought a second starter kit because they don't have a "second" battery separately and I would rather use this than to actually smoke. Anyone wanting to know if this works, well... I've been called a professional smoker by co-workers over the years. From just wanting to "try" it - to not smoking within a couple days is hard to describe. I've been through this board and love it, learned a lot in the past couple days from your posts, and so those who want to know what I'm using: Krave 1001 starter kit - 1.8 nicotine - the lady at the smoke shop said I'd like 'em and she's right. I haven't got the hang of how long they'll last me per filter yet, but this is amazing. I wan't intending to quit. I've been thinking about it for years and tried the patch about 10 years ago. That lasted two weeks. I hope to be smoke free and never going back as of yesterday at noon. I'm liking this A LOT ! ! ! ! ! ! ! My wife is doing it also - she's not had a cigarette since Tuesday night. WOW ! ! !
