    Quitting smoking

It took me three days to kick smoking. I used a DSE91 PCC kit and a 10ml bottle of 24mg 50/50 Cocoa Mint juice. The juice choice wasn't because it was chocolate and tasty...it was because the flavor actually aproximated the flavor of a Camel Jade for me. Aside from that...I never said that I was quitting and I didn't let that mindset settle. I wasn't quitting, I was simply making the choice to use an eCig instead. There's a huge psychological difference in that and it really helped me. Naturally, there was a ton of willpower involved and Day 3 was a white knuckle day for me. But everything after that third day was fairly easy and, two years later, I haven't had a cigarette since.

    Questions about dripping...

If you're getting into RDAs and building your own coils, I highly recommend picking up a coil winding jig. They're simple to use and they're cheap at around $4. It makes life a lot easier than winding around a mini screwdriver or drill bit.

Your nicotine absorption can be effected by your equipment too. I quit smoking almost 2 years ago and have been vaping ever since. I started with 24mg strength and a DSE901. When I switched to an Ego style (and later an Innokin SVD and Smoktech SID) and a CE4/5/6 style tank, I was able to drop down immediately to 18mg with no ill effects. I've since upgraded to mechanical mods and rebuildable tanks and drippingg atomizers. With an RBA Kayfun Lite I was able to immediately drop down to 12mg with no cravings for more. With the RDA Patriot dripper 0.4 ohm dual coils, I'm just about ready to drop down to 6mg. If you are experiencing cravings at relatively high strengths, you might look at upgrading your gear.
  4. LMAO...I like the clown hat. The other thing I hear a lot of people complain about is how a battery rated at 30a, 35a, 38a, etc is actually a pulse discharge rate and that they only get a continuous discharge rate of 20a or 25a. Well...I have news for you...they ALL list their pulse discharge rate. You'll never find a battery that will have a continuous discharge of 30+ amps. It simply doesn't exist.
  5. Exactly. I hear this from time to time. "Efest are just rewrapped LG batteries that couldn't pass the test." Or "Efest are just rewrapped batteries that couldn't be called VTC4." The funny this is that 1.) There's never any photo evidence showing this to be true and 2.) The claim is never for the same brand of battery. It's always a grab bag. I also hear a lot about Big Foot sightings. Similarly, I never see any credible photo evidence of that either.
  6. Here's the pics I promised.
  7. I received all the parts for my wife's birthday present today. Honestly, they're even better than I expected. The Kayfun Mini 2.1 1:1 clone is incredible. As soon as she's not around, I'll post some pics of the finished unit.
  8. I generally just use a mech mod, myself. But some people want vv/vw or the protection that a circuit can provide. In my wife's case, her ability to adjust the wattage saves me time wrapping coils to get it exactly the way she wants it.

    Menthol Question

I was a menthol cigarette smoker for 25 years. While I usually rolled my own (a bag of 4 Aces "Mint" and 200 count box of Gambler Menthol tubes), I would sometimes buy Kool, Marlboro or Camel Jades. I have yet to find anything that is exactly like a menthol cigarette of any particular brand, but I have found two things that are close. AquaVMax Cocoa Mint in a dripper or a good old fashioned DSE901 tastes almost exactly like a Camel Jade. It's minty with that chocolaty under tone and if you get it at 26mg strength, it makes for a good alternative. http://www.aquavaporcig.com/AquaVMax-eLiquid-CocoaMint.html The other one is NWVapors DAKool Menthol. Not exactly like a menthol cigarette, but a pretty good facsimile of natural flavors without the burning combustion. http://www.nwvapors.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_26_28&products_id=315
  10. For comparison on the batteries, these are the high amp batts that I'm currently using in my mech mods. These are only 2500mAh but still will last me between 8 and 12 hours on a single battery, depending on usage...but for a day where I'm working, moving about, doing stuff....I only find myself swapping the battery once throughout the day. EFest IMR 18650 2500mAh 35a Batteries http://www.amazon.com/Efest-18650-Rechargeable-Battery-Purple/dp/B00IKTCZ9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413260006&sr=8-1&keywords=Efest+18650+Battery My real test for these came when I went camping for four days over the summer. I took 4 of these batteries with me and only ended up using 3 with a spare ready for the ride home and during the recharge time. And I vape like this thing is an oxygen tank and I'm stranded on Mars. Especially when camping and drinking. ;-)
  11. I went back through my list and some of the prices have fluctuated, so the basics of what I was building her runs $48 now. Still fairly inexpensive. I'm building this for her for her birthday. Nemesis clone https://www.fasttech.com/p/1849502 Kayfun Mini https://www.fasttech.com/p/1805804 Kayfun drip tip https://www.fasttech.com/p/1775803 Sigelei 5w - 15w Variable Wattage Kick Module https://www.fasttech.com/p/1670801 Those are the basics. I added these for her too... Aluminum Stand https://www.fasttech.com/p/1692304 Zipper Multispandex Pouch https://www.fasttech.com/p/1851007 I picked this up for myself, since I build all the coils.... Vaping Coil Winding Jig https://www.fasttech.com/p/1882303 ---- I absolutely do not buy batteries from FastTech anymore. Evidently, their postal system is terrified of rechargeable batteries and you'll be lucky to receive your order inside of 6 months. Instead, I order all that through Amazon. They usually get to me inside of 3 days. (I didn't really need this...but it's a good charger at a really awesome price that we can both use....) Nitecore Intelli Charger i2 http://www.amazon.com/i2-2014-Intellicharge-EdisonBright-converters/dp/B00KBEJ6SC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413259579&sr=8-1&keywords=Nitecore+charger (I have 4 standard 800mAh EFest batteries that she can use, but I wanted to get some of the higher amp batts for her) EFest 10.5a 700mAh 18350 Batteries http://www.amazon.com/Newest-Efest-700mah-purple-battery/dp/B00JDSOR1S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1413259640&sr=8-3&keywords=Efest+18350+Battery So, that's her entire birthday package.
  12. On the go charging is the hard part. But with an 18650 battery, there is little need for that since a 3400mAh battery will generally last you between 10 and 15 hours. Simply carry a spare and you're set for well over a full day. Bottom fire button isn't going to be found in a typical device. You have to go mech mod. But that's not to say that you can't get a mech mod with the other features you desire. I'm building one for my wife that matches your other criteria. Nemesis Mechanical Mod Siglei 5w to 15w kick module It is 510 threaded and will support the Big Dripper, as well as any other RDA/RBA tank (for her, we're going with a Kafun Mini). Will support varying sizes of batteries, 18650, 18500, and 18350 (she's going with 18350 to keep the device small). Price? For her setup it was around $30 for just the device and two batteries. I added some extras for her that brought the total up to around $50 (aluminum stand for her desk, zipper case with caribiner to attach to her purse, etc).
  13. Been almost a year with no cigarettes. Started with an AquaVapor Pro DSE901 PCC kit and a couple of 10ml bottles of 24mg juice. I was able to quit smoking completely in three days and I haven't picked it back up since. I've graduated to an Innokin iTaste SVD at this point, but I still like to use my trusty 901 from time to time.
  14. Almost every gas station, liquor store, and mini corner market in my area carries both cig-a-likes and eGo express kits as well as CE5 clearomizers and a variety of different juices. The prices aren't great, but over the last 5 months you can literally get any kind of vape you want at nearly any street corner. Even if you want something fancier, it's a short drive to one of a dozen different places that carry APVs, mech mods, RDAs, etc.

    newbie here

Congrats! I discovered in my switch to eCigs that it's more than just fullfilling my nicotine habit...it's a fun little hobby too. I started last Feb on a DSE901, moved up to an eGo kit in July, and will be moving up to a Smoketech SID in the next couple of weeks. Oddly enough, I still like the DSE901 with a tank atomizer on it at times. Especially if I have to dress up for something, since the cigarette case is small and fits in a suit jacket pocket nicely. But nothing beats a vape where you can adjust the voltage and wattage!
