The only issue I have with them, is they cant seem to keep up with me! If ya hit it too many times in a row, ya burn the wick. Then everything has that burnt taste. Yuk!

You can buy different adapters for the enercell. It some with a long cord and you can attached a variety of adapters on the end. The SB/PT uses an N adapter. Or you can get a USB adapter and use the cord that came with the SB/PT. I posted a vid (not a very good one) that tells a little more about it.

    Hope this helps!

BTW - I got mine at my local Radio Shack. Make sure you get the one that is 2 Amp.

Good to hear! I must give credit as well. I was all worried about receiving PG juice instead of VG (due to miss-labeling). Not a big deal, but my acid-reflux won't let me do PG, it hurts too bad. Anyway, they called me twice and emailed a few times as well, to make sure everything was all good. They're even tossing in a complimentary bottle on my next order!
You're right Uma, above and beyond. It is a breath of fresh air!

Manual eGo batteries are sealed. You are not going to ruin your ego. You can burn up your atomizer if it is dry. I add a drop or two directly into the atomizer before using cartridges. Most eGo kits come with pre-filled carts of some kind. You can take the filler out and rinse out the pre-filled juice, dry it, put it back in and use a different juice. Direct dripping is excellent using at home. I didn't think I'd get into it, but it's about all I do at home now. Dripping has generally better flavor and you can switch easily between juices. I found this forum a great way to lower the learning curve and read about all the options available.

I only used carts for a very short time before going all direct-drip. I seem to blow through attys like crazy. I have no idea if it's related or not, but I only get a couple of weeks out of an atty it seems. Most of them still work, but the flavor and vapor amount is so poor that I need to just replace it. I would imagine that dripping would gunk up more easily on the coil, just because of the amount of juice that would coat the coil per drop...? I don't know, I'm just wasting time I suppose, no real info from me, sorry! LoL!

David - the problem is that there are a lot of suppliers out that that take a standard KR808 or Joye 510, slap a fancy name on it and sell it for $150+ to unsuspecting/uninformed customers. Any standard type starter kit will go for around $50. Even a Joye eGo, which comes with two 650mAh batteries and two attys is priced around $70.

Sorry if we seemed a little hostile, but we all try to look out for each other and the community.

Think about the process like this.

There is a coil that is at the center of every e-cig. It heats up the liquid and produces the vapor. IF you increase the power(wattage) of the coil you increase the heat which will change the output of the vapor. How it changes it can be a little subjective but higher voltage typically produces greater vapor volume and can diminish the flavor. Once again this is subjective but it is important to recognize that the variable that I am discussing is the heat of the coil.

A higher voltage battery will increase the power, therefore the heat of the coil. You also must realize that there is another factor of the equation and that is the resistance of the coil/atomizer. If you were to use 3.7v of power with a standard atomizer that has a resistance level (ohm) of 2.2 your wattage output would be 6.22 watts, this is the amount of power that is being applied to the coil. Let's say you were to use a 5.0 V power source, with the same atomizer, the wattage would be 11.36 watts, almost twice as much as a 3.7 power source.

Another approach is the use of a lower resistance atomizer, usually rated around 1.5 ohm. a 3.7 power source would them produce a wattage of 9.12 This allows you to produce power that is close to a 5v power source without needing a new device or batteries. These are pretty easy to get and not very expensive, many suppliers offer these, including the Vapor Talk store.

In both of these examples, what we are effectively doing is increasing the power to the coil, elevating the heat of the coil to manipulate the vapor that is being produced.

A couple of notes: a LR atomizer will not work on the standard 510 battery as it does not have enough battery capacity for the output. Also a LR atomizer should not be used on a 5v power supply as it will overload the coil and break it, similar to a power surge on a light bulb.

I hope this is not too complicated but in essence, this is exactly what the power discussions are all about, end wattage. It can be easy to lose this principle as everyone talks about devicess, atomizers, batteries, passthroughs, etc. At the end of the day, the end wattage is what heats the coil and will produce more or less vapor/flavor.

Power is calculated through Joule's law. You can find an easy to use calculator here:
    http://thelocust.net/ohm/

A wiki post with a good explanation is here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joule%27s_laws

One option that is available to you that was not to me a few months ago when I was starting was variable voltage devices. These allow you to adjust the end wattage through the use of a variable regulator. It can give you 3.7v up to 6V and everything in between. However, it does require batteries and sizes. I did a review of one of these that can be found here (includes size comparisons).

    http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/topic/6307-the-buzz-final-review-update/

The eGo is a tremendous device, one that I used and it works well with a LR atomizer. There is no shortage of eGo or eGo similar devices.

I strongly recommend that you read all the reviews and discussions you can before you buy. You may also want to stop into the video chat room where you will never find a shortage of people to discuss this with you.

I know there is a lot of info in this post and I hope it was helpful. I bought 6 devices until I found the one for me (and I am probably still not done... ) and I hope that this post will help you avoid having to go through the typical progression of devices that most go through to find out what is best for their needs.

Remember, evaluate what your needs are and what is important to you. Just because a device works well for me (or anyone else) does not ensure it is a good fit for you. Find out why people like the devices and match that up with your requirements. Good Luck.

It's totally worthwhile in that once you're set up it's very inexpensive in cost per ml to make your own. There is significant upfront expense, similar to getting set up for vaping itself. But once you're over the hump there, maintenance is very inexpensive, on the order of 25 cents per ml. But the real value of DIY is making your own liquid to your own specs. I vape 6V and commercial liquid just did not work for me. So I've formulated my own mix and it's perfect. This is something you cannot get any other way. So in that regard if nothing else, DIY is totally worth the effort and cost. That's just my .02.

May I add one thing. When you start mixing flavors for your own recipes, there will be some waste; some things will just taste like old socks and you'll have to throw them down the drain. That's right, I've made stuff that was not salvageable in any way! So what I learned to do is to taste new recipes with 0 nic PG or VG so that I don't lose the nic base too. Just a thought. When you hit that first recipe that's everything you hoped for you'll be hooked forever!

Alright, here we go, as promised the Joker is up for grabs! I really was hoping I might be able to tie this give away into the Support our Vaping Troops thread, But Im unable to come up with idea that would make it fair for all those participating. I do hope that those of you who were going to ship a package...might find a way to support our armed forces in another way. So.. in place of that, I came up with....A Joke for a Joker Contest. Here is how I'd like to see it work..I will give you all 3 days to post your best joke, 1 post with a Joke per person only. NO VIDEO Seeing this is on the open forum..lets try to keep em somewhat clean guys. At the end of the 3rd day (Tuesday night say 11pm) the first part of the contest will be over. Wednesday night at 9PM I will post the winner of the best Joke as voted by the Vapor Talk forum members. Each member of Vapor Talk will be given 1 vote to cast for what they think is the best joke. You must vote for someone other than yourself!!!!!All votes MUST be posted by 8PM Wednesday night. Please do not cast any votes til the first part of contest is over Tuesday night. I think that covers it..so Good Luck and make us laugh!!!!

I've been trying to figure that out for over a month now. I noticed if ya ask different people, ya get different answers; different literature will guide ya differently, yadda-yadda-yadda. There's way too many things to factor in to come up with a universal answer. Your best bet is to just try different things (you'll find many ideas to try here) take note of the different outcomes and you will find what you're looking for.
After reading many different sources and trying many different things, personally, I have come to the conclusion that direct dripping is hands down the best way to go. Have ya tried that yet? I went nuts trying everything else and didn't listen to everyone hyping up the dripping thing. Finally, I got tired of crunching numbers and experimenting with how long carts last compared to a pack of smokes and just tried dripping. Since then, all else seems trivial, LoL!
I personally feel carts are a nice temporary fix while driving short trips or something, but I feel that's about it. Everyone's different though, take your time and try different things, you'll find what your looking for.
    Hope this helps

I was driving to my friends house tonight, vapin' on some super yummy VT grape soda. As I pulled into the Tim Horton's coffee shop (usual stop on my way to his house), I was thinking about that super yummy VT grape soda and how I probably would have never tried it if it weren't for this awesome community's pay-it-forward disposition. At that very moment, a warm fuzzy feeling filled my gut and I felt all giddy! (Yeah, it's cheesy, but whatever!) I started to think of ways that I can contribute to the community in a pay-it-forward sense. After a few minutes of pondering, it dawned on me... why limit this to just the on-line community? It felt like some sort of revelation. When I got to the window to get my coffee, I paid for mine and ended up paying for the car behind me too, (figures they had a $10 order!) I told the guy at the window to let the car behind me know I said "you're welcome, just Pay-it-Forward some day". It felt sooo good to do that, even if it cost me $11.55 for a medium coffee! Heck, it was well worth it. Maybe next time I'll get lucky and only have one other cup of coffee to cover!

I was poking around a hobby store the other day and noticed two different types of VG. In the soap/candle making section was a seemingly thinned out VG and in the cake/candy making section was a much thicker VG. Was weird because both bottles claimed to be 100% VG. Anyway, if ya bought the thinner VG you probably wouldn't need to thin it out, but that thick stuff doesn't look vapable at all without thinning it somehow, water I assume, but ya might as well thin it with something that provides TH, eh? I would go for a 100 proof vodka like black label Smirnoff or something (if ya can't get EC).
