Welcome naturallyhigh to the forum. I have to agree with DayVape and Snubber. Snubber was able to express the general opinion of The Safe Cig a little more polite and eloquently then DayVape, but no matter how you add 2 + 2 the answer will always be 4. Myself and quite a few other vapers started out vaping on e-cigs similar to The Safe Cig. After spending a great deal of money, I ended up frustrated with the product. It wasn't until I found this forum, did I find quality personal vaping devices and I have been a happy vaper ever since. The Vapor Talk forum is a wonderful community of vapers who want to support and encourage one another on their vaping journey. In all honesty, its a good thing you got your feet wet here and not on some other forums.

Electronic cigarettes have been a lifesaving alternative for so many smokers and so many more to come. If you want to have a long and successful business in this industry, consider selling a more cost effective quality product with more longevity. Otherwise, your customers are going to find themselves on a forum, frustrated and searching for a better option. Good luck to you on your personal journey.

I would honestly say NO, don't start. Most of us here do it because we were so addicted to tobacco that we just couldn't quit even though it was killing us. The honest to god truth is...We have no idea what the results of our vaping is. Do we think it's safer than smoking 1 or 2 packs of cigs a day? We sure hope so, but we don't have any real idea of what the long term effects of PG / VG /Flavorings really are.
I know how it sounds and I never did listen but just don't smoke. Even with how great cigars are.....it's NOT a hobby. If you like them so much I think you would be better off smoking 1 or 2 a month IF YOU MUST instead of vaping.

Again this is all just my opinion. I wish you all the luck in the world and the best of health and smoking/vaping is not the way

Pardon me... but who are you to judge just how much she should be vaping?? I, along with many others, vape all damn day long and have no issues with doing so. At least they are cigarettes like she used to smoke, right?

This is more for you noobies since most of us that have been here for a while already know this.

For you that have just joined us, you're in for a treat. You have found what we here feel is the best forum on the internet. Many have tried other sites and can say with out a doubt that you will not find a more friendly or helpful group of people anywhere. This forum is set up to help and inform every one who is interested in learning about vaping and e-cigs. The staff and members are always ready with insight and help for any and all questions that you have. From the simplest to the complex. Someone is always ready to help or send you to someone who can. Unlike some other sites that are more interested in slamming each other or trying to make you feel stupid, the members here all remember what it was like to be just getting started with vaping and how confusing all the jargon and products can be to the beginner. If someone asks a question you can be sure that a response will be forthcomming in a very short time.
There are many years of experience here on the forum. And the atmosphere is friendly and family friendly as well. As long as the topics in the general area are kept decent there is never any threat of being banned or removed from the forum. There are other areas of the forum to vent your frustration in a more shall we say verbal expression if needed.
The forum also has a store that is second to none. The customer service is far and away above any you will find anywhere else. Chris is the most dedicated vendor on the net. He goes above and beyond what most would do for a customer. I can't begin to say enough about his thoughtfulness and concern for his customers. You wont find a better supplier or friend anywhere, period! If you were to take a pole of the members who have been here for any time the testimonials would be staggering. He is constantly looking out for his members and keeps his forum running like a fine machine. Always trying to improve on what we already think is perfection, he is neverending in his diligence and dedication to both the forum and the store. The Vapor Talk staff as well are always ready to do what ever it takes to keep this forum up and running in a manner that is just excellent. So..this is my view of what I feel will be a great experience for all who join us. Like I said...It's a love story for the forum and all the members and staff that make this the best place on the net for vapers to get together and enjoy the mutual experience of vaping. The Food and Drug Administration said Monday it plans to regulate smokeless electronic cigarettes as tobacco products and won't try to regulate them under stricter rules for drug-delivery devices.

The federal agency said in a letter to stakeholders Monday that it intends to propose rule changes to treat e-cigarettes the same traditional cigarettes and other tobacco products.

The news is considered a victory for makers and distributors of the devices, which continue to gain popularity worldwide.

E-cigarettes are plastic and metal devices that heat a liquid nicotine solution in a disposable cartridge, creating vapor that the "smoker" inhales. A tiny light on the tip even glows like a real cigarette.

Users and distributors say e-cigarettes address both the nicotine addiction and the behavioral aspects of smoking — the holding of the cigarette, the puffing, seeing the smoke come out and the hand motion — without the more than 4,000 chemicals found in cigarettes.

First marketed overseas in 2002, e-cigarettes didn't become easily available in the U.S. until late 2006. Now, the industry has grown from the thousands of users in 2006 to several million worldwide, with tens of thousands new e-smokers every week.

No timeline has been set on the proposed rule changes.

The FDA said e-cigarettes could still be regulated as drugs or drug-delivery devices if they are "marketed for therapeutic purposes," — for example, as a stop-smoking aid.

Jason Healy, president of e-cigarette maker Blu Cigs, called the news a good first step, but said the pending rule changes will be more beneficial for "weeding out the shady companies."

Right now, "you can potentially sell snake oil," Healy said.

Nearly 46 million Americans smoke cigarettes. About 40 percent try to quit each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But unlike nicotine patches or gums, e-smokes have operated in a legal gray area.

The FDA lost a court case last year after trying to treat e-cigarettes as drug-delivery devices, rather than tobacco products, because e-cigarettes heat nicotine extracted from tobacco. It had until Monday to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In December, a federal appeals court ruled electronic cigarettes should be regulated as tobacco products by the FDA rather than as drug-delivery devices, which have more stringent requirements such as expensive clinical trials to prove the products are safe and effective as a stop-smoking aid.

Some sellers of e-cigarettes sued the FDA in 2009 after the agency told customs officials to refuse entry of shipments into the U.S. A federal judge ruled that the FDA can't stop those shipments, saying the agency had overstepped its authority.

Last September, the FDA issued warning letters to several makers of electronic cigarettes or its components, saying the companies are violating the law with unsubstantiated health claims and poor manufacturing practices.

The FDA also had said that its tests found the liquid in some electronic cigarettes contained toxic substances — besides nicotine, which is itself toxic in large doses — as well as carcinogens that occur naturally in tobacco. Most e-cigarettes are imported from overseas.

However, some public health experts say the level of those carcinogens was comparable to those found in nicotine replacement therapy, because the nicotine in all of the products is extracted from tobacco.

In short, this is great news - for now - essentially the FDA publicly announced that it is conceding to Njoy's victory in the lawsuit, and will NOT be filing a petition for review by the Supreme Court.

I'm sure there are other battles ahead, particularly what type of regulation they will conjure up. My guess is it's going to be very strict and the strong will survive the weak. I have no doubt the FDA will start targeting small operation liquid makers. Doesn't mean they'll be closed down, just mean they may have to setup facilities following strict FDA guidelines. (Which for the consumer is a good thing)

Regardless for now, this is good news.

And yes, I meant Chocolate chip cookie. If you want to get technical, Chocolate chips are not always a substitute for melted baking chocolate. Chocolate chips are designed to retain their shape (for cookies naturally) when baking, they contain less cocoa butter than typical baking chocolate. So while yes, it is still chocolate, it's normally intended for cookies. Regardless it was a sarcastic comment made towards the FDA and their nanny like attitude.

Of course none of us are trained medical professionals who have conducted detailed clinical studies so much of the feedback you have so far and will continue to get is anecdotal of course.

Like those who have replied before me I feel better, although I am a bit spend crazy, but even that feels good. So far several months in, based on what my body is telling me I feel better, I breathe better, my snoring has decreased (or so I am told) and my friends ask me to blow my vape exhale IN their direction. I also am more social as I am constantly asked about what it is I have there in my hand and what is that "smoke" I am exhaling that smells so good.

I have done some reading and there is only limited studies and materials available but based on research done decades ago on PG inhalation I am comfortable that this primary ingredient is well understood and considered largely safe since it is so common in other products.

I am curious why your message has such a sense of urgency?

Ecigs to come from China but the profit created does stay in the states. It also helps supports this community and I thank everyone who supports not only Vapor Talk but any US supplier.

US suppliers use the post office which helps keep their job, purchase bags and tape etc which helps someone else keep their job, we pay servers costs which helps some tech keep his job. When you purchase direct sure you save a few bucks but I mean seriously, you where spending far more on cigarettes. But people will choose to do what they do.

I can say that the more customers shop China the harder it is to stay afloat. But hey that's economics. I can say if we have another large seizure or customers keep moving over to the Chinese sites, I've already told my wife I'll step out and shut this place down. Last year we lost so much money I had to cash out my 401k to keep this place afloat.


Someone mentioned "cartomziers are just rebranded.." Well so is your refrigerator, iPod, cellphone computer etc. That's how business works. The difference is that consumers have more information in this industry than others thanks to forums like this. We don't sensor it. Though we could if we wanted to. When you purchase toilet paper for 5 bucks at Wal Mart, trust me, Wal Mart didn't pay more than 1 dollar for that bag. The mark up pays for all the overhead and of course profit.

e liquid that costs a "whopping" 7 bucks and last 3-4 days even longer for some. A pack of cigarette is 6 bucks and lasts maybe a day....

personally, i find it distasteful that such contests these days come down to who can gain the most online support, i dont vote in these things for anyone as this has taken contests to a whole new level of low as far as i am concerned, nothing personal, i see these things all the time on facebook and i just ignore them all
