joe2003 got a reaction from Mark in Ode to 801's or The Sad Passing
Of some old friends from the e-cig world.
(with tongue planted firmly in cheek)
Many of us **OV's** have fond although sometimes frustrated memories of these
old friends.
The M-401 has sadly passed and the RN-4075 is now defunct.
While the 402 can still be found occasionally and the RN-4081 still has a small cult like following in the NJOY and
Smokestik crowds. The KR808D-1 won the cigalike popularity contest and the 510, and the new kid on the block, the eGo connector won the MOD crowds love.
But perhaps the saddest passing is the venerable and oft venerated
DSE-801/BE-112/JOYE302's.
Often hailed as the best compromise between the TH of the 510 and the clear taste of a 901,with the largest capacity, the now outdated 801 was
beloved (and hated) by many.
the BE-112 seems to be out of production
and very few sellers still carry the 801/302's anymore.
BUT I STILL HAVE A FEW! I haven't had to give in yet to these new punks:The gennies and RBA's and RDA's and and and...
Well I only use 'em to taste new juices sometimes lol.
They still work and taste great at ~5V.
It really is great fun watching the progression of VAPING.
**OV=original vaper(yes a sad play on the gangsters OG)

And I do not think you are a "liar" as much as an *** hole with unrealistic expectations and completely unable to get and handle advice that doesnt line up with your own.

joe2003 got a reaction from ChrisP in Wattage vs Voltage
yep,3.8v with 2.2ohms is ~6.5 watts and 4.2 v with 2.5 ohms is ~ 7 watts
Just remember it may taste a bit stronger when you're on the wattage setting
due to the fact that the twists and spinners etc. have some voltage dropout
under load but the watts setting on the vamo probly won't.

joe2003 got a reaction from Uma in The Veteran Vaper or Brian Rides Again :)
So after winning a KPT in Brian's contest,I decided I wanted some other goodies
to go in the pkg. with it Shipping was fast,I ordered Sun. and it was here Wed.
The KPT is in my wife's possession but I hear it's very nice lol.
I had some trouble with my new goodies so I opened a ticket to see if Brian would
walk me through making it work since I couldn't figure it out.
After a few e-mails and a phone call we decided it wasn't working as it should.
Now we all know that when a vendor sends out a sealed pkg. they have no control
over what the Mfg. puts in it,but Brian went above and beyond to make sure
that I was happy with my new toy.The replacement arrived today, just 3 days after I
first contacted him.Not only did I receive fast courteous service but he went the
extra mile in a number of ways.
Brian is definitely a White Hat kinda guy as most of us already knew even before he became
a supplier.I'm happy to have even more proof of what a great person he is.
Chris has developed a great forum full of awesome folks and is himself top notch.
When we add in Mark,Jeffb,Birddog,Brian,Uma and many many others it's no wonder
so many of us have found a home here!!!

joe2003 got a reaction from Rixter in Wattage vs Voltage
Then I guess ya don't want me to tell ya that the vamo is actually
firing at six volts lol. It's just turning it off and on so fast that it feels lower
depending on where you set it
-
joe2003 got a reaction from Uma in iTaste MVP V 2.0
It's just what I was hoping the V2 would be
variable wattage with an ohm meter
I hope it's reasonably priced when it's released and I hope it releases soon lol
-
joe2003 got a reaction from Rixter in determining voltage, resistance, and current
But don't forget that if the amperage limit of your
Switch is too low it will limit the flow of current.
Without taking that into account it will throw your numbers off

joe2003 got a reaction from DarthVaper in Which batteries should I buy for my new Vamo V3?
This is just my opinion, alternate opinions or arguments are welcome (I like to learn )
I prefer to use a single boosted batt over using stacked batts, not only for safety issues
but also for convenience.
The best performance rated 18650's I've heard of are the Panasonic but they are pricey
and sometimes hard to find.
I like the AW IMR 18650's for their safer chemistry and better handling of boosted power
for higher wattage vaping. They are easy to find in 2000mah rating for good long charge life
but be aware that it will take ~8 hours to fully charge.
There are other IMR batts available but AW has built a rep for good QC.
As for chargers the PILA(sp) brand have the best rep. but again are pricey.
A lot of us use the TrustFire TR-001 without issue and it has 2 independent charging channels
which can charge from 16340's up to 18650's with no probs. but will safely charge only 3.7 volt
styles of batts. ohms of the batt doesn't matter it will charge it correctly as long as it's the right voltage.
My batts typically read 4.12- 4.19 fresh off the charger.

joe2003 got a reaction from Uma in Battery Fire Potential w/noflame ecig battery
I'm not familiar with the noflame brand so no help there.
There are several cig-a-like brands, mostly kr808 stuff, that have good reps
and have refillable cartos:Smokeless Image Volt and V4L(vapor 4 life) pop into mind,
If ya wanna go really small and cig like the joye e-roll/ovale e-mini has gotten
very popular but the carts only hold ~.5 ml of juice. They seem to be super easy to fill
and the PCC is neat too lol.
As for the batts they are all Lithium Ion so they all have the potential to overheat/vent/
cause fires. The autos may be more likely to have problems due to liquid getting inside
and causing shorts or switches to stick.
All batts can be hazardous and there are cases where cell phones, laptops etc..had batts go
bad and cause damage.
The percentage of problems is small but the potential is there so caution and study are advised.

i never hacked up a lung when i switched to vaping, i was just being kinda easy when i first started. but never took a drag and left a lung behind, i think my lungs patted me on the back and said "thank you brother"

joe2003 reacted to bcartervol98 in Random work people wanting to try your e cig
I have passed enough things around in my life it doesnt bother me at all to let someone take a draw off mine. They usually cough their heads off for some reason. That never happened to me when I started.
