I've looked at the HG2 as well... but haven't tried any of them. I figure as more of my older batteries reach retirement, I'll try something newer/better, and the HG2 are at the top of my list. I've been running 25R's almost exclusively since January, and so far have only lost two of them (probably older stock?), and still have 10 running strong. My VTC4's have been work-horses for more than a year, but I've retired them to use only in my Cloupor's where they will see lower Wattage demands, and hopefully will last even longer that way? Even though they are only 2100mAh, they still last nearly 2-days in my Cloupor's (running 8.5-12W avg).1 point -

I have really loved my 25R's. My first 2 batches that I bought are starting to get a little weak. I have PIF a few, but I don't feel like it is best thing to do, so as I replace them, I will recycle them. I recycled my last set of VTC3's, but all of my VTC4's are still running good (they are all married). I think I am going to start replacing my 25R's, HE2's, and HE4's with HG2's and possibly 30Q's. I can tell a noticeable difference in how long they last. The HG2 preforms nearly as good (Total Amperage) as the 25R but lasts longer. I am also going to try out the 30Q's. They are only rated at 15A, but tests about like a 20A battery. Since I only vape at 40 watts I should be ok because that is only 14 A. ((40/3.2)*1.1) I have a pair on order, I will post my very unscientific findings as soon as I try them out.1 point -

If they sell supplies for CPAP machines, they should, but I can't guarantee all of them will carry 18650's, or what brand they will have, if they do. I may have gotten lucky that my local store carried LG's... But, yes, it won't hurt to ask1 point -

Awesome! Thanks for the recommendations guys! At under 30 bucks for the charger and a couple of batteries, it seems like a no-brainer. I like the auto-detect feature on that charger. Probably because I have no idea what kind of battery is in there now, aside from the size, which is kind of scary, come to think of it. The shop I bought it from rewrapped it to match my mod, and never mentioned the brand. I'll have to stop over there and ask them what the heck they gave me.1 point -

Interesting. Is it automatic? In other words does it adjust for change in coil resistance? Or maybe I should ask - does it limit by voltage or by actual temperature, and how does it sense this? Just curious.1 point -

I don't have a huge problem with them being taxed but states that pass laws making it illegal to vape (or smoke for that matter) in open outside areas are places I do not care to visit. You could not get me to move to NY or Cali if you quadrupled my salary and gave me 3 months off a year.1 point -

ALWAYS RESEARCH who your buying from, if you have a good feeling about them then buy,, its always BUYER BEWARE.....1 point -

When California puts out anything to discourage vaping I'm very suspicious that they really don't want anyone to quit smoking. They get too much tax money from the sale and continued sale of cigarettes. Not so with vaping gear and e-liquids. Thanks for the link, Jason.1 point -

A family member (a former smoker who quit at least 21 years ago, never tried vaping) took a cousin into a local vape shop (the only time he's gone into a vape shop, ever, the family member, not the cousin), and he was definitely NOT HAPPY. The same shop I was talking about in my previous post. There were a couple of cloud chasers sitting on the couch watching TV just hanging out, and he said it was ridiculous. He's seen us vape, of course, over the last year and a half, and knows that it's not what we do, but it annoyed him that some people were purposely doing that.1 point -

That is definitely a turn off, i think to lots of newbies. A few weeks before i started vaping i went into a local shop to look around and when i opened the door it was worse than walking in a Smokey bar. It was a dense cloud everywhere and had an unpleasant odour. Talking with the owner i asked him how busy they had been. He said not busy at all, just him and his brother most of the morning. It was a total turnoff. I figured what would the purpose of quitting cigarettes would be if that was what vaping was like. I eventually came around by reading some more online and have ordered all my stuff online. I really have no desire to go into a local store1 point -

I cannot speak as to the tact you used to convey your message but this specific post I couldn't agree with more. I see cloud chasing competitions and all the pushing the limits of equipment overall as the biggest single threat to our continued freedom to vape as we want. It's a lot of the reason I post so much less than I used to because it's all you see anymore and instead of complain I abstain lol. And I mean no insult by anything I said toward anyone but it's just how I feel and in no way directed at anyone. Right now we have our right to vape and you can do it any way you want but that could change quickly and things like competitions and cloud chasing highlight the small % of Vapers out there and take the focus off quitting smoking cigarettes imo.1 point -

I think most of us that vape are casual in that choice, meaning we vape but don't keep track of every political impact across the country. This doesn't meen that we don't care. As with any cause, some are more active than others. I aslo believe we all want the same thing, to have the ability to vape and enjoy a less harmful way than analogs. For us, as a comunity of vapers to push and pull constantly against eachother is not going to help anyone IMO.1 point -

Hi Comp, Not singling you out, I`m sorry you came to that conclusion, a bit premature on your part maybe? But in all honesty, that is your prerogative. I really don`t know how you would take it personally, but that is beyond my control. I tend to abbreviate, that`s just me. I am NOT JUDGING people, that`s your opinion only and I wont own that. I AM however JUDGING actions. You like Vaping in public places? Even in dedicated lounges? Well, every anti-vaper now has the power of the internet to prove to others why you should not have that freedom. To be able to tell you not to, to pass laws prohibiting you to do so, to even pass laws making the ownership of such devices completely ILLEGAL if they get enough dumbass`s to believe their argument. All in the name of public safety they`ll say. The internet never forgets, and now the radical self righteous know it all`s have the ability to pull this up and show it to all the "Unbelievers"! FOREVER! You think we are the only people talking about this specific case? Each and EVERY time this happens (and it can only happen more if this is encouraged), the anti vaping agenda will get a little more proof that they should be in control, you want that? A little more proof that anyone even having such a device on their person while in a public space is a serious danger to all the other nose led sheeple. Realize that even with the bestest most fantastic gold plated clergy blessed battery, it can be inherently dangerous. And to encourage young adults who in some case`s may even be children to do this is counterproductive to the rest of us vapors. I am not against cloud chasing, we all like to see that big cloud, but to ENCOURAGE an inherent dangerous activity in a "competition" setting, just for "balls" sake, well, Iv made my argument. Final comment. I`v personally been treated like a child beating scumbag because I chose to vape instead of smoke, encouraging this "competing" attitude will only ensure that I`m treated even worst. I`ll stick by my logic. And no harm no foal buddy, :?) Best, Randall1 point

Banana will overpower most flavors. I usually only add about 3 drops to a 10ml batch otherwise its too much. I have also noticed that too much flavor doesn't necessarily ruin the juice, what will though is when you are not calculating the ratio of the juice to your PG/VG content. However, a good tip to remember is.... sometimes less is more.1 point -

Not sure if my taste buds are revolting or I'm doing something wrong. Been playing with DIY for a short while and sometimes my mixes are ok, sometimes not so much. Which brings me to the question I have been pondering ....... is there a point at which a flavor starts "going backwards" and the finished juice mix just tastes crummy? Lately my mixes have not been tasting as good as I remember - or think they should, but people around me say the odor of the flavor is quite noticeable, and some who I allow to sample my vape, such as mixes blended with Black Cherry, Chocolate, Tosted Marshmallow, say the taste is there, sometimes to the point of being too much for them, but I can hardly taste it. I'm beginning to think it's me getting familair with the flavor to the point where my taste buds ignore it and I need to change directions for a while. I'm mixing at 20% flavor so before I go bumping up the flavor ratio I would like some guidance from some of the more experienced DIYer's.1 point -

Question 1. Yes, you can use different types of flavoring but not all are going to give good results. Most of the flavorings I use contain artificial and/or natural flavors, PG and not much else but sometimes contain small amounts of water, alcohol, and so on. There are some ingredients that are un-friendly to attys and cartos but I can't give you a complete list off the top of my head; for instance you shouldn't use any anything that contains sugar or honey. Most of the flavorings I use (Lorann's, FlavourArt, Cappellas, FlavorWest, Perfumers Apprentic, CK products, Tasty Puffs) are fairly strong and sometimes very strong and it depends on the flavor. A very strong flavor might only need 2%-5% in the final mix but most fall into 15%-20% range. If a flavor requires more than 25% to flavor a DIY recipe it probably is diluted to the point where it is no good for vaping. Question 2. There are flavors that add sweetness without changing the original flavor much or sometimes enhance it. Cotton candy and Marshmallow are 2 examples. Ethol Maltol(EM) is the ingredient in cotton candy and it is what a lot of us use. I've also used suclarose. I know to use these in small amounts because too much will ruin a recipe. VG may add a bit of sweetness along with more vapor, this is why I like to use some in all my juice but I prefer mostly PG. Question 3. You can get a better TH by using a bit of menthol flavoring. As for extracting your own nicotine, well that sounds like tricky business and I don't think it can be done safely without proper testing equipment and knowledge. I've extracted a tea and tobacco flavoring by heating leaves in PG but I wasn't trying to extract nicotine and I don't think that I got much if any out but I was able to get a diluted flavoring that was usable.1 point -
