  1. I have a subtank mini as well. Not as free flowing as my Baby Beast, but not too bad. The main thing I have found with the subtank mini is that the coils themselves vary greatly with the "freeness" of the draw. One coil is not the same as the next even out of the same 5 pack. I also have a MELO 3, again not as free flowing as the Baby Beast, but more consistent than the subtank mini IMO.
  2. One of the 2 cells could be weak. LiPo cells act funny when they get old sometimes. I have a couple batteries for my RC cars that do that too. I took one apart and one cell was dead, the other was fine. No fix for it that I know of.
  3. I also prefer removable batteries for myself. I have a couple Kanger 50W boxes that I like the way they work, but I like to use sub ohm tanks when not at work and hate having to carry 3 or 4 spares when out for the day. I liked my IPV4s, but it has gotten wonky, prob just needs a good cleaning of the button and the 510 connection inside(it's adjustable center post). I had a iStick 50 that the button quit working on after about a year, got an Ipower 80 to replace it in Jan, still going strong. I've also got a Picco and a Picco mega, the 26650 lasts a full day, but the button is really easy to push, I turn it off when putting it in my pocket. At work, I carry an Athena eNVy plus. It holds a subtank mini with just a bit more than the drip tip sticking out. It's slightly smaller than a deck of cards except for the thickness, I run a 1.2 or 1.5 ohm coil with 50/50 juice for stealth vaping at work. I love the submerged tank design. I wish more companies made mods like it, it's a smaller lighter and more stable VTR basically. My only gripes with it are the always loosening screws (even red loctite didn't help), and that it only adjusts in full 1 watt increments. I also have a Smoant Knight V1, but the buttons are not in the best place, really low on the mod. The Kangside Luxury box is not bad, but the shape of it pokes holes in my pockets. I got the iPower nano just for my wife because she loves the small size. I also got her a C.O.V mini, but she hates having to turn it on every time she picks it up, as it turns off after not being used for a minute or 2, so it usually sits unused. I am trying to get her us use the Picco, but she thinks it's too big.
  4. My wife still loves the little unit, but it seems to be aging fast. The fire button has begun to not work intermittently, and the battery seems to be loosing it's staying power. She has to charge mid-day now so it does not die while watching TV before bed. It used to last all day. So what does a guy do???? Just got a new one in the mail from the VT Store today......
  5. Hell I'm only 42 and forgot about it until someone told me it was happening. I went outside and said "Yup looks darker than it should be." Went in and went back to work. My wife says i need to be more personable to others.....
  6. Sounds like your clear juices are a lower vg, like 50/50 and the tinted juices are 30pg/70vg. Juices with higher pg are a bit harsher.
  7. I'd just get a new set and recycle those. No sense taking a chance on unknown/old batts.
  8. Not trying to be a grammar nazi, but promise is misspelled. Sorry if I missed something making the misspell purposeful.
  9. I like a .5 kanthal coil at 25 watts on the pico, my wife runs hers around 15 watts. We both run similar juices, but your juice may work better at a slightly different level. Starting low and working up is about the only way to find the right setting for you.
  10. "pot" in this case refers to the Potensiometer (sp) I believe.
  11. I have noticed this to be very true. I have also noticed that the larger the tank, the sooner letting it sit below say half full will cause it to start leaking. My Subtank Plus will start leaking if I let it sit overnight half full, where as the subtank mini will sit for a full day or longer before any issue arises. I remove my tanks and sit them upside down on the drip tip at night or when I change tanks.
  12. A little late to the game here, but here it goes. I use a subtank mini with a 1.2 or 1.5 ohm coil or a nautilus mini with a 1.8 or 1.6, what ever is available, coil at work for stealth vaping so I don't have to go out to the "smoke shack" with the smokers. I pair those with a 50/50 juice at 11mg. At home I have several tanks in a free form rotation, kind of what ever seems right to use at the time: A Freemaxx Starre that I prefer the .25ohm coils in. A Melo III Mini currently runnng a .5 ohm coil (waiting for the .75ohm coils to come in to the VT store). Another subtank mini (the Plus has a torn oring and I can't seem to find a replacement) running a .5 ohm coil. A Ephro morph running kanger .5 coils. I primarily use Black label or a local juice at 70vg/30pg at 3mg. My wife uses a nautilus mini with the 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coils primarily. I did get her an iPower nano that she has taken a liking to an she prefers the .75 ohm coils over the .3ohm (comes with 1 of each). When home, or generally not at work, I prefer DL with subohm, but I trade off using a ton of juice by compromising and sticking around .5 ohm even though the Stare with the .25ohm is my favorite tank. The wife doesn't like it when I fog up the living room while we watch TV. I think I would really enjoy one of the varieties of the Beast tanks, but don't want to go through as much juice as they are reported to use.
  13. I have been using the Nautilus mini for a couple years, much over 10 watts with them will drastically shorten the life of the coil in my experience. I generally run them the way Tam mentioned above. I found a juice I like and primarily run it in the Nautilus to extend the life of the coils a bit, I generally get 2-3 weeks per coil. It's a 50pg/50vg coffee flavor that my local B&M white labels. I personally don't notice the difference between the 1.8 and 1.6 ohm coils, there are other aspire coils that I believe go down to 1.2 ohms that will fit the nautilus, but I don't remember what they are, I am sure someone will chime in with that info. Maybe a lower resistance coil will help you....
  14. I don't DIY, but my local B&M mixes their own flavors. I have noticed that the combo flavors are better, more distinction from each flavor, after they sit for some where between a couple weeks and a month. I always ask if they are a fresh batch or not before I get them. They have not yet figured out that I get an extra bottle or 2 of the single flavors every time the combos are freshly mixed. I let the combo flavors sit for a few weeks before I use them. I used to do the same with Comps Hydrabones after it was suggested here.
  15. Try getting a couple drags in at a stop light with a fullface helmet on, lol. Same results, best to wait for a gas stop.
  16. I'm not a fan of the "latest topics" at the top of the forum. I prefer to go through the subforums and see what is new in each area, having a list at the top of the main page just adds clutter IMO, I just scroll past it and go tho the subforums. Not a big deal on the PC, but the list is "long" on the small screen of my phone. Other than that I like the layout.
  17. I run firefox on both my phone and desktop. Once I decline the notifications they go away for a while. Every few weeks I will get asked again if I want notifications, happens on a few sites I visit. Only one day earlier this week did I have to decline notifications repeatedly on the same visit here. Next time it happens I will grab a screen shot, but I don't think there is a "not now" choice, only yes or no.
  18. Or maybe you could get one and add to what I have written? ( Two can play the "Spend other peoples money" game.... )
  19. Picked up an iStick Power Nano kit from the VT store a week or so ago for my wife, as she thinks even the iStick 40 is too big for her hands. The Nano is about as big around, and about 75% as tall. Only the top 1/3 of the tank and drip tip make it taller than the bare iStick 40, it's pretty compact. I filled it with my favorite 70vg/30pg juice (gotta try it before I turn it over to the missus), and used the factory installed .75 ohm coil. I started out at 10 watts and over several tanks settled in at 14 watts. Good flavor and a decent cloud, but not enough to obscure the TV while chain vaping it. No dry hits, the juice holes in the coil are quite large. The airflow is in my opinion a bit on the restrictive side for DL even wide open, but it is possible. Think somewhere between the full open and mid setting of the subtank mini. I haven't messed with any of the different settings, just used it in watt mode. The battery lasts through 3 tanks give or take with the .75 ohm coil at 14 watts. I haven't tried the .3 ohm coil that comes in the package sealed in it's own blister pack, and probably won't for a while, the missus has discovered the Nano and refuses to give it back. Overall it's a good little unit. In wattage mode it just plain works and so far has no little quirks. Also as far as I can see it works exactly like the full size 80 watt iPower.
  20. I got the mini volt and ipower nano for my wife. She has pretty small jands and thinks the istick 40 is too big. I broke out the mini volt last night and she loves it except for the turning off. I will probably breakout the nano this weekend. If it works anything like the 80w unit it will be a solid device. I run a ipower 80 almost daily. She will not be using the melo 3 mini it comes with as she does not like sub ohm hits, she will be using it with a nautilus mini, her tank of choice for now.
  21. Eleaf pico kit, COV mini Volt, Istick Power Nano kit, 2 bottles of Black Knight and 2 +1 bottles Of King of Churn (Thanks for the +1!) showed up yesterday. Ordered Saturday from the VT store. Going to miss the 2 day shipping when the warehouse moves to Cali, I'll have to wait an extra day
  22. The leaking may be oring related. I have recently run into a leaking issue with my subtank plus. I noticed a few bubbles one day coming from the bottom of the tank around the oring. I would love to find some orings, to replace them, but even Kanger's site does not list them. The orings rub every time you open the tank, over time a little wear will occur even if the orings are lubed up with juice, they could be the culprit.
  23. If she is waiting for a "perfectly safe" option, you could point out that breathing is not "perfectly safe". You never know what is in the air you are breathing. A little extreme, but does have a bit of truth to it, especially if you live in a city.
