  1. Kind of a "redneck fix", but if you sheared off kanthal and left the pieces of kanthal in the over drilled hole until it was filled with the pieces of kanthal it might get you going.
  2. As far as I know Nickel coils should not be used in wattage mode.
  3. While in Denver for work last year, I stopped at a vape shop (Don't remember the name). They mixed their juice right at the counter as you ordered it, not really at the counter but close enough. They had a nice clean area, the bottles looked well marked and wore gloves, but I thought it was weird. I passed on getting juice, the mix area was neat and tidy, but the rest of the place looked like someone's living room, couch, coffee table and the staff was eating pizza and playing Xbox when I came in.
  4. Maybe I read it wrong, I will have a look next time I stop in for Juice.
  5. Tam, thanks I will look into the Triton 2. Jason, the mod itself seems to be basically an eGo but regulated regulated to 3.7V from what I read in the manual. If what I read is right, it regulates the voltage to 3.7V so it will be a constant hit from full charge to dead. I was able to everything with it but put juice in it and try it. The magnet is pretty cool, and it screws off so you can use the tank on any 510 mod.
  6. Just got a first hand view of the Basic at the local B&M. Does anyone have any experience with it(or more precisely the tank that comes on it)? I am thinking it might be the rig for my wife. She is currently using an IC30S on an istick 30W 1.8ohm at 11 watts, but wants something that can run thicker juices as she doesn't like the 50/50 that the local B&M has but likes their 70vg/30 PG flavors. She gets dry hits (no surprise) with the 70/30 in the 30s. She is a mouth to lunger, and rarely chain vapes. I have a couple subtank minis she doesn't like because thy are to "loose" even on the smallest airflow setting, and she doesn't like the Nautilus mini either, it also has issues with the ticker juices IMO. I tried thinning the 70/30 juice with distilled water but she didn't like that either..... The juice holes in the atomizer look big enough to handle the thicker juices, but I wanted to see if anyone else has tried before I shelled out the cash for something that may end up sitting there unused. Also, the reviews I have seen are mixed with people either loving them or they bricked for some reason or another after a few weeks.
  7. I have the V4, and occasionally use the 2amp feature when I am in a hurry, 2 18650s will fully charge in and hour to hour and a half when starting from 3.2 volts. Comes in handy when I get up for work and realize the pair in my IPV4s is dead and I won't have a spare set to take with me for the day if I don't charge the dead ones before I leave for work. Guess I need a couple more sets to marry up for it, but the 2amp setting is getting me through for now. I usually use the .5amp setting though.
  8. If my V4 dies, I am now aware of the replacement........
  9. IMHO, check out Fadora Vapor. A couple flavors from there I recommend are Hydra Bones, Banana Nut Bread and Snicker-doodle.
  10. Nose bleeds and the bleeding gums could be attributed to being dehydrated, you need to drink a lot of water vaping will dry you out.
  11. My understanding is Kanthal is not to be used for TC, only wattage mode.
  12. I use a Nautilus mini, same coils just a smaller tank. I run between 8 and 12 watts with the 1.8ohm coils. Much higher than that and the coils don't last long.
  13. You have a couple options. You can just refill with the new juice, it won't hurt anything, but the flavors will be mixed. Or you can rinse out the tank and change the coil. With a new flavor that I am trying I will rinse out the tank and put in a new coil to get the full taste of the new flavor. If I am just changing flavors I am familiar with I will just refill the tank. My wife tells me she can taste the old flavor mixed with the new even after a few tanks of the new flavor, I don't notice the old after half a tank or so of the new. Over time I have bought extra tanks for my wife so she has a tank for each flavor juice she normally uses.
  14. I am not sure if the juice I use contains alcohol or not, but I get random tested for work (aircraft mechanic) and vape on the way to the test, never had an issue. And this is FAA/DOT testing.
  15. Earthling is right,IMO, the subbox mini kit is a good starter, I have 2 of them. A decent 18650 is less than $10 from a reputable seller. A second battery and a charger (nitecore, all of them are decent from my experience, or the LucV4 from efest, my go to charger) can be gotten at a later time if/when needed.
  16. I agree as well, the horizontal coils have better taste. You can improve the taste from the vertical coils though, at least from my perspective. I take a pin or needle and pluck the cotton out into the juice holes just a bit, it seems to help. I think the cotton is too tight in the vertical coils and doesn't wick as well.
  17. Mine is the Mini, so the pieces may not be an exact match, but I believe the top cap and chimney are the same.
  18. There are a couple other possibilities: As far as I can tell the chimney s pressed into the top cap, maybe yours isn't pressed in all the way. I currently have mine disassembled for cleaning. I have never been able to get the chimney out of the top cap, which is why I assume it's pressed. I haven't tried pliers as I am afraid of mangling the chimney, the walls aren't that thick. The threads in the chimney may be damaged or not complete, making the coil lock to it when you tighten it. Mine is currently apart for cleaning, I'll snap a couple pics before I put it back together.
  19. Had this happen to me. When changing coils, the little oring on the bottom of the old coil got stuck in the base and shoved the new coil up. Check the base to see if there is an extra oring stuck in there.
  20. One thing I have found is make sure you stay hydrated. Vaping dries you out, I drink way more water than I ever used to. It really affects the vapor's tongue. Also, if you are chain vaping, a 60vg/40PG is as thick as I recommend for the subtank, I have several. I am currently running 60/40 juice 4mg nic (Fedora's Snicker doodle) with a .5 ohm coil at 20 watts. Lower and I still get a good hit, but I like the vape on the warm side.
  21. I don't have a suggestion for replacement, but I would be really interested in a teardown to see what the switch looks like. My istick 50 sometimes swaps from watts to volts too, none of the powering off though. I have always thought it was because the button was so much stiffer than all the oher boxes I use, and I was unknowingly clicking the button rather than holding it in.
  22. This isn't a big deal, but is a small annoyance. When I click the Go to first unread post, the"first unread" post is cut off behind the page header, especially if it is a short post. Bebop's post is the first I haven't read in the attached screen shot.
