It also takes longer in my opinion for a coil to crud up when using TC. Maybe its because the juice doesn't get as hot.

Wow gang... I just realized this morning that my two year anniversary of being smoke-free has come and gone already (3/31), and I've been so busy I didn't even notice
I've not been active much lately, but I do read the threads every chance I get... and comment when I can.  Hopefully, my life will be a little less hectic soon and I can at least participate a bit more, lol.

When I bought my juices from the shops or online, I found the only way to vape less was to go to a higher Nicotine level, but that's not a good idea if you're using sub-ohm coils
Now that I mix my own, I just mix what I need, when I want it... and I buy all my materials in BULK, lol.  It takes a few bucks to get started (about $50 to get bare minimums... $150 to get your own mini-lab, lol), but in the long-run, you'll save a fortune and have full control of what you vape.
Just today, I mixed 1200ml of our ADV (600ml of mine and 600ml for my GF), and have maybe $20-25 in those two 600ml batches?  We each vape about 40-50ml/week of our favorite flavors, so this will keep us vaping for another 3+ months!  Paying vape-shop prices, that would run us $20 per person, per WEEK, instead of $3-4 per person, per MONTH... so you see the savings almost immediately when you mix your own juices
Yeah... I'm an advocate for mixing your own

    Long story short...
Dashed out to a brand new B & M in my neighborhood.  It is literally 1 1/2 blocks from me.  Now, this B & M is the newest one of a very successful chain around here.  I had to pick up a quick juice.  They make a decent house brand that is very vapable and priced reasonably.

Any way.  Of course they don't have 3mg in what I want so the girl pops off the top of a 0mg bottle and drops 3 drops of (presumably nic haha) in to a 30 ml gives it a couple shakes (its a 30/70 blend) and hands it to me.  She does this right on the counter in front of me.

Am I reacting badly? Wtf?  I've never seen this before.  Has anybody seen this before?  I gotta tell you, it didn't sit well with me and I dont know, it was just a little too casual.  Plus,  i felt like I had to mix that sucker up a little more, lol.

It just struck me as odd...

    Welcome back to vaping!

Im just going to leave some tips and advice.

Rich is correct - the lower the ohm of your coil, the higher the wattage is required to fire that coil.  That leads to shorter battery life.  And that drops significantly fast below .5ohms.  It also leads to lots of heat so it's not unusual that your tank is getting hot.   I find vaping around .6 - .8 to be a happy medium, especially if you are in a situation where you can't easily swap out batteries. It's a good trade off between battery life and vapor production.

next is airflow. Airflow over the coil is key to good vapor production. The lower the resistance, the more airflow you need to get the vapor production.  So vaping below 1 ohm you'll likely be using wide open airflow on your tank.  Good airflow also reduces heat. Tanks differ and you may find yourself experimenting with different tanks to find the differences and what you prefer.

Vaping at at lower resistance and higher wattages can really shorten coil life.  This is why many of us get in to building our own coils and rebuilding/rewicking.  Keeps the coil fresh and optimum vapor production and flavor.  Store bought pre made coils are pretty good these days but they don't last as long as your own builds.  Pre made coils also vary in performance so there is some experimenting there to find what you like.

juice - juices vary as well.  Some like lower wattages and some like higher.  Some burst with flavor and some are dull.  Not all juices are created equal. Dark sweet juices will wreck a coil faster than lighter juices. Airflow plays a part here as well. Low airflow tends to cook the juice on the coil reducing its life. Thinner juices tend to vape faster with lower vapor production while thicker juices can take more wattage and produce more vapor.

Temperature control (nickel/Titanium etc) adds another level of complication best left alone for the new vaper.  Or have somebody who knows it well demonstrate it for you.  It requires proper settings and experimentation to set it up correctly and make it satisfying.  It is more significant to low ohm/high watt builds where "dry" hits are a problem (wick running dry).

Hope that helps.  Feel free to ask questions.  Many here to help you.

I will probably grab one too when they hit the $30 - $40 range.  Here lately with the work schedule, driving, and general hectic life my  NEBOXes have treated me very well.  I carry 2 and a Presa 75W/Crown as a backup.  I am holding out hope for a better V2 of the NEBOX or possibly the new Smoant Knight  I really love the form factor.

My turn. Well...I took a very big jump into the pond. I am now the proud owner of a Cool Fire IV plus, ISub Apex tank and the Cleito tank. The Cool Fire is nice. Feels good in the hand and the buttons are sturdy. It is 70w with a built in battery. The Apex came with two .5ohm coils and the Cleito has a .4ohm and .2ohm coils.
I have been using the Nautilus and Protanks. These new tanks are kicking my butt. It took me awhile to figure out how to draw on these without choking to death. But the flavor is outstanding! OMG! I can actually taste my liquids now. I have the airflow wide open and the wattage set at the minimum for the coils. Will take me awhile to get used to it before I can fine tune it up or down. The only downside I see is cleaning the Apex tank. It doesn't exactly come apart like other tanks. I will share that with you all later. Today was a good vaping day.

Have you tried prying the center pin up a little? a lot of these mods say they have a spring loaded pin, but experience tells me that isn't always the case. some of my mods the spring works sometimes they don't. try using a pin or something like that. be careful not to press the fire button if you use a metal object to pry with.

I agree with Jason... Those batteries will be great for the Wattage you're using.  I'd not push them (together) above 150W.  I personally run a few of my single-18650 MOD's up to 50W with the LG HE2 batteries and have zero issues with them.  They are great batteries.  Jason's other suggestions for spares (LG HG2 or Samsung 30Q) are spot-on.  You should have at least one spare set to charge while another set is in use, and it wouldn't bet a bad idea to pick up six (two sets for spare).  Be sure to label them with a sharpie so you know which batteries you have mated together.  I use alphabetical... A, B, C, etc. for those used in single mods... A1, A2, B1, B2, etc for dual-mods... this way I can keep track of not only mated sets, but also their position in the MOD, so I can rotate their position each time I change batteries.... 1-2-3, 3-1-2, 2-3-1, and back to start-position, but I"m OCD that way... or as my family tells me... CDO (alphabetical, as it should be, lol).

Those batteries will work great at the power you are using it at.  Personally with a good 20watt battery (which the HE2s are, I would keep it below 150 watts or so, and it will be very safe, no matter how low you go on the build.  I am being a bit conservative by like to err on the side of safety.  At 45 - 60 watts the he2 will not be the longest lasting battery. I would pickup another set of HG2s or Samsung 30Qs to keep charged while you use the other set.  It is really nice not to have to wait for a set to charge.

With a little experience you'll be able to tell when you need to add more juice. You'll get a harsher vape, that's a clear indicator when you're new to it. I usually got 5 - 7 hits before needing to add but it depends on how long of a draw you take. Saturate wick well but don't drown it. When the quality of vapor goes down or you get a harsh hit, that's when to add more. You won't burn the coil unless you dry burn too long, the more likely thing is that you'll burn the wick, which would be very unpleasant but you'll just need to rewick the coil then. Hope that helps.

Like most things in vaping, it depends.  Use Ohm's law to calculate how much draw you are pulling from your battery, and if is below the CDR (Continuous Discharge Rate) you will be fine.
    Here is an example:
If you atomizer is .5 ohms and your battery is fully charged you will be putting 35 watts to the coil, and drawing 8 amps from the battery.  If you are running a 20 watt or better battery you will be fine.
Don't go by the numbers written on the battery to determine what it's CDR is, most are wrong.  Also don't take anyone at a vape shop, or forums word for what the capacity, only trust the testers.  Here is a link to the best battery guy in the vape world: Mooch's blog - picking a safe battery.
Another thing that worries me is if your battery will be able to move only running one battery.  If it flops around it could short on something in the box and it could be disastrous.  You should not put a dead battery with a good one to fill the space as it will cause even more problems.

    CAUTION! unsolicited advice follows:
Save up some money, and pick up a good regulated dual 18650 mod and a couple new batteries from LG, HG, or Samsung.  Good mods can be bought for less than $50 and batteries around $7/each.  You will be much more happy with the additional power and stability of a regulated mod, and you will be much safer at the same time.

What Bebop said is spot on. You'll need to try several different things until you hit on the right combination of battery, tank, flavor of e-liquid, nic level (depending on the tank and coil resistence), and a few other things. Vaping is so subjective that what's right for one person will not work for another, only you will be able to tell what's right for you.
One piece of advice we give to everyone -- and nearly everyone ignores until it happens to them -- is to get back ups. Get back ups for your back ups and back ups for those. Seriously, you'll never have too many back ups. I once went through four batteries, a couple of tanks and several new coils while I was out and about. Thankfully I had one rig that worked until I got home and that was just for a two hour trip. It's a great piece of mind if you don't need them and a means to stay off cigarettes or chew when you do.

The Innokin Endura T22 Starter Kit (IMO) is miles ahead of other starter kits in terms of performance. It's getting raved about by  reviewers for being the best device out there to convert smokers to vaping. The Endura mod provides a constant 14 watts to its tank (or any other 510-threaded tank), and the only settings on it are off and on. I've tried them and they are outstanding.

I am just like @Earthling789.  I am up over 30 batteries, and really don't have one I don't like.  They each have their place.
HB2s, HB6s, and VTC3s are all for my high wattage usage, which is seldom.
VTC4s and HD2s are my mid range batteries, and don't see much use.
I use my 25Rs, HE2s, HE4s, 30Qs, and HG2s are my daily use batteries.  I don't pick and choose, I just grab the next ones and throw it in my battery case or mod.  They all work great.  The 30Qs and HG2s do last noticeably longer.  I also will be replacing the every day use batteries with either 30Qs and HG2s as I pay them forward, or they die.
I also have some Efest and Xtar 18650s 18500s and 18350s that I haven't used in a long time.  I keep them charged, you know, backups for backups....

I'm running 28 batteries right now... ten (blue) Samsung 25R, a dozen LG HE2, four Sony VTC4, and a pair of LG HG2.  I must admit I like them all, and as my aging Samsung and Sony begin to die-off, I'll likely replace them with LG HG2, more HE2, or Samsung 30Q.  I worry far less about the Amps these days because I rarely go over 40W, and welcome a little more life between charges
BTW, 101Vape has great sales on authentic batteries every so often.... I paid $7/pr for HE2 and $9/pr for HG2 on their last sale.  I'm pretty sure I was practically stealing them at those prices
    Their current (everyday) prices:
    LG HE2 - $10/pr
    LG HG2 - $13/pr (out of stock)
Samsung 25R (blue) - $12/pr (out of stock)
    Samsung 25R (green) - $12/pr
    Samsung 30Q (pink) - $14/pr

I really like them too.  I really like the Samsung 30Q also.  It's amperage (CDR) not rated as high as the HG2, but Mooch's tests put them nearly dead even with the HG2.  I am getting equivalent life out of them for a little less money.  I am currently running 6 of each and very pleased with both.
Even though the MFG rates it at a 15A battery, Mooch says it is a good 20A battery.  He is so conservative in his testing, I feel safe recommending it as a 20A battery.  I personally never vape that high any more.  At 50 watts and a single sell I am pushing close to 15, but normally I am never above 25 watts.  If I need to go higher, I use a 2 cell mod.  2 cells at 100 watts is in close to 15A.  If I still need more, I use the 3 cell mod.  3 cells at 150 watts is close to 15A.  If I need more than 150 watts.... never mind....  I don't need over 150 watts.  If I did I guess I would throw the HB6's in it.
    Samsung 30q - Liion Wholesale - $6.75
    Samsung 30q - Illumn - $6.00
Mooch's Testing - Samsung 30Q vs LG HG2 Shootout Round 2 Results...they're still equal performers

I can't really judge battery life quite yet, as I just put a fully charged set in, so we'll see how that goes. Right now the fuchai and snow wolf are parked cause the cuboid is the new toy so I hope to have a better grasp on how well it does with batteries.
