  1. At first, I thought it was my cell too because I was on my last bar indicator the first it happened, but the last 2 instances I just put in fresh cells. I am still on the lookout for check bat issues to rule out my initial observation, as I could be very well be wrong. On IPV4, I know I can vape even higher than .6 when I was curious and manually check my res out of curiosity.
  2. I am not sure if it related or not. I have had the "CHECK BAT" on the D2 but only on TC mode, and only when active resistance go above the high .3 range (above 0.35). My initial res was locked at 0.18, and active res rises as I vape. I was chain vaping and ignored when I was hitting 0.3 range. I just let my tank cool off a bit and back to normal. It happened to me a few times. That is the only instance where I have seen "check bat" error As for Efest 35A cells.... danger_efest_18650_battery_venting_at_14amp_
  3. There is a direct correlation between nicotine delivery in devices/wattage use. The study is a bit dated comparing EVODs vs cigalikes. I wish there is a new study . Looking at forum posts(here and other places) those coming from EVODs (or similar type), and say trying a subtank for the very first time, their primary complaint was it is very harsh and had to drop down their nic level. Not saying that a more efficient nic delivery systems is necessary any better. Some just do not like higher wattage setting regardless of nic level. So staying with an EVOD is just as good so long as they remain off analogs. I now vape 1-3mg nic, and can remain without vaping for several hours and only vape when I am at home or work. This something I could not have done with my starter set-up of Evod/ego.
  4. I ordered mine from smogdistro.com and FT but I rec'd the one from FT first. Those are the 2 cheapest that I have found. I read others claiming Uwell Crown is better or a close second to TFV4 (depending on who you ask) on the 100w+ range on quad/triple coils. The triple and quad TFV4 coils are kanthal. All their TC coils (yet to be released) will be dual and comes in 2 versions. 1 is standard and the other in "Air Core". I don't know what that means but I think it has more airflow? SMOK TFV4 Coils Airflow is superb. A little to airy for me so I close the bottom AF partially but I could get used to it. STM and Lemo2 are restrictive for me too (especially now compared with TFV4) but tolerable. It has 4x 4mm (possibly larger, dont have a caliper) The coiler shown inserted is 3mm. Deck AF hole is at least 4mm 1 of 2 large liquid hole on the RBA
  5. I ordered another D2. This one is going to sis-in-law so I can get my SX mini back. I can send you the sleeve if you want it. SMOK is planning to release 11 coils for TFV4 - 3 RBAs(single, dual, and single vertical), triple and quad coils, and the rest are NI or Ti coils but those are not out yet. I bought this mainly for the RBA decks, and the TC coils for when I am too lazy to build. I think I saw a couple of sites that sell them for $19 for 5-pack. Some sites are just gouging since it is not widely available. I remember STM coils were going for $20-25/pack when they were new. The quad and triple coils are juice guzzlers though and not meant for single cell mods (you can but you'll go through cells like no tomorrow). I went through 20ml in 3 hrs yesterday. lol If I am not DIY'ing, I'd cry over how fast I'm running out of juice. But for special occasion use, the triple and quad would be alright for a binge.,
  6. I got mine from 101 yesterday too but was not expecting it. I forgot that I had pre-ordered from them too.Mine did come with the sleeve (not shown) but it is a PitA to remove and put it back on when swapping cells. I like the surprising heft to it's weight - solidly built. Smok TFV4 Kit is wonderful though. All my tanks are now dead to me (sort of ). The coils and RBA are huge... easy to build on but still on the triple coil and have not tried building anything yet. Surprisingly no overhang on D2 but there is a slight overhang on IPV4.
  7. ^^ This^^ Plus it is always free shipping with no minimum purchase.

    Help

Did they change the STM airflow? On mine, it has a small, medium, medium + partial cyclop making it 2 medium holes, and then the cyclop slot... and double them since they are dual airflow control. On the smallest air hole, it is a very tight draw (for me anyways). It's as tight as an evod for me. Stock driptip is way too wide for a mtl draw though.
  9. I like the D2 for it's single cell, and Cloupor looks a lot smaller for having dual cell. For me, the only drawback for both is no USB port, which means no chance to upgrade firmware. For this reason, I canceled my pre-order of D2 and will wait awhile for reviews to roll in. One advantage D2 has over Cloupor GT is having Ti01 mapping. Ti01 is much more forgiving than Ni200. You can easily re-wick without re-coiling or twisting Ni with K1 wires, and it takes less coil wraps that Ni, and making it easier to dual coil or using decks that were too small with Ni builds. Of course you can run Ti01 on any TC mods that do not support Ti. You just need to set your device approx. 100 degrees or so lower than you would on Ni but results are device dependent. I read that D2 comes with DC-to-USB cable for charging, but not sure if you can update firmware with it. It would be great if it is... I would grab one in a heartbeat.
  10. I have the same issue with Velocity RDAs running Ni200 - very cool vape and I do not like it so much. But great on Kanthal and Ti01 wires.
  11. I'm able to update IPV 4 firmware on Win7 64 bit. Hopefully, your work IT won't freak out so much if you talk to him/her ahead of time. If your IT is anal retentive, I can assist with that if you do not mind the drive. New firmware features are: Ti01 goes up to 100J, Power Mode at 120W, and Ni200 remains the same at 50J
  12. I have not that happened to me vaping but it did when I was smoking. I was smoking outside a store waiting for my gf - about 6-7 parking stalls away from the main entrance and downwind. A car pulls up directly in front of the store and a bunch of teens hop out. 2 walks towards me coughing mockingly all the way until they are in front of me. I was about done any way so I just flicked my cig but I really wanted to stub the butt in her mouth. lol But that was nothing compared to my encounter with one self-righteous vegan (wannabe) militant a few years back who had the audacity to walk to our table and lecture us about eating meat is inhumane and something about methane and the environment lol. All this while she was rocking some designer leather pumps and handbag. haha But that is life I suppose. There are always a small group of people who think the entire world revolves around them... and only them, and all the rest who are doing things differently from them are just flat out wrong, and they make it their life's purpose to bring others according to their "standards" - Don Quixote-esque.
  13. I have an Ology and screws look like standard machine screw. I do not own a caliper so I cannot help with providing size. Sorry. You probably have better luck with your local hardware store. At the very least, they can probably tell you what size it is and source it somewhere else, if they do not carry one.
  14. When I first started vaping, I vaped everywhere I could because falling back to analogs was not an option for me, and I could get away with it with my ego and KPT2 - easy to hide and be a ninja about it. As I discovered that lung hits and a more fuller vape works best for me, I do not have the need to vape as often. I vape in public where it is socially responsible without hiding it - no indoor vaping whatsoever except at home, office, or hotel rooms.
  15. I seldom visit B&M stores, and the few times I did, most of what they sell are clones. 2 of those stores trying to pass Kayfun V4s as "authentic" for a bargain price of $100 for a limited time. One of them still has FT green sticker on the back of the box. lol That is why I seldom buy anything from a B&M store. I buy both clones and authentic. For toppers less than $50, and mods under $100, I will buy authentic. Sometimes I am willing to pay more for if I think they are worth it. I have more RDA clones than the real deal because more often than not, I end up modifying them... or at least it is on my project list.
  16. Best RTAs to use for IPV4 or any TC mods for that matter are single coil RTAs. But Adverserious is spot on. Best tank is highly subjective as with all vaping gear. If you are a mouth -to- lung (tighter draw) vaper consider Taifun GT II, Kayfuns, Achilles or Prometey V2 . If you prefer deep lung inhale, Lemo drop/ Lemo 2, or any of the many, many subtanks out there. Subtank mini is very versatile. The air draw can be as tight as kayfun or you can leave the airflow wide open. You also have the option to build your own coils or use replacement coils. In my opinion, subtank mini or RTAs like it, are great for those who are not sure if they prefer moth-to-lung, or direct lung inhales.
  17. I keep mine simple now too. lol 8-9 wraps 28g on 3mm for .12 -.13 ohm on subtank. Lemo2 is my current favorite same build but with 10 wraps. No issue with ohms after learning to trap the leads with stock screw. All I needed was patience. I just ordered Ti wire and see how that compares with NI200. Maybe with it I can do twisted with no issues. I use higher VG and it gunks up coils faster regardless of setting. Temp/watts may affect coils gunking up but I am still playing with settings, tanks and juice that I cannot say definitely one way or the other. Average build for me last about a week... give or take a day or so.
  18. In the other TC discussion I mentioned that flavor profile and settings may be more highly dependent with flavor nuances rather than coil type. Then again, the same applies to non-tc mods. lol I guess I associate tc mods with nickel builds too much, and only mentioned it on this thread. haha Is it placebo effect? Maybe Conditioned that some of us find certain flavors taste diffently (better for others) with non-tc mods since we have used it far longer than TC? Perhaps. I am curious with iJoy Asolo and their claim that it does tc function with kanthal. I, too, think that TC is here to stay.
  19. I hear you, man. There are some juices that taste way better with kanthal and I have 3 juice that taste better with NI200. That is the beauty of having a mod that can do both. I can pop in whatever coil that is best suited for the juice I made or bought. However, I have made and bought some juice that is just downright horriible in either build... in whatever topper I use... but that's on me. BTW, I love the Aqua V2. It is on my rotation.
  20. I had the same argument with myself regarding TC and coils builds that low as I never built conventional coils below .4 ohms. After trying my friend's mod several times, I decided that I liked it. I stuck with pre-built NI200 coils until I felt comfortable building my own using NI200. Is it a gimmick? They work as advertised. Whether it is a necessity is another matter. If you are already in a market for new mod, maybe finding one with TC that fits all your criteria may not be such a bad thing, if you decide that route later on... it is one less gear to buy. For vapers who are truly 100% satisfied with their vaping experience and gear, then I do not think it is necessary.
  21. SnowWolf 50W TC looks sexy. I just do not know anything about GX50 chip. It is not out yet but some are taking pre-orders for $99 SnowWolf 50W - $109
  22. I have not decided which is better tasting between Kanthal and Ni200 yet. It is harder for me to gauge since I use Joules and not really sure how that correlates to watts, and obviously the ohm difference. I think it may be dependent on the juice profile and settings? I just swapped tanks just now with same .12 build, used same settings but with a different juice, and it tasted muted. I uppded my Joules to 30 and bumped it 460F from 28J/400F, and was very impressed with the flavor. Compared to the same juice on the same tank (subtank mini) with .5 kanthal @ 28-30 watts tastes good too, but it seems I am vaping 2 different juices. Some taste better with nickel wire but most taste better with kanthal regardless of settings
  23. Same thing happened to me Jason, and it scared me as I hate doing RMAs. I had mine all the way at 500F / 50J, and barely getting anything. I am not sure how different your mod has with mine. But I had to reset my resistance and lock it down (pressing + and - at the same time) which was strange since I have done so after I refilled my tank. Hope you get sorted out
  24. I am also relatively new to TC and very pleased with it. The first few days it was glued to my hand. lol I am experimenting with different tanks and found that subtank mini is the easiest to build on. Lemo is good too but harder to build without replacing the screws. I searched for cheese head screws locally but not able to find any that small, so I sourced them online. Kayfun V4 is a breeze but resistance change every time I top fill K4 ecause of the juice control. Dual coil tanks are much harder for me. Not many tanks out there that can accomodate dual spaced 3mm ID Ni builds without touching the chimney, and I am too lazy to experiment with twisted wires... too soft for me to work it. RDAs are great with TC though. I can vape it bone dry, and switch flavors without re-wicking. Can't wait to get Velocity and Petri RDAs to play with, maybe even try dual coil build with them. It seems their decks are roomy enough for dual. For me, 400-410F at 28J with .12-.16 is my sweet spot. Anything higher and the driptip gets too hot for me. Anyone else notice slightly longer battery life?
