    ***Not a battery expert

I have never read or heard of a credible story of a battery exploding while in use, always when being charged and for me 100% of those i have read about were either being charged on a laptop or in a hot car which are both no-nos in my book. I have yet to read of one that exploded when using the wall outlet adapter which I am pretty sure adds another layer of protection.

Also cheap knockoff batteries seem to be more prone to these problems. I think when charging a battery there are 3 layers of protection. First the battery itself should have overcharge protection and be vented, second the USB adapter has overcharge protection, and third the wall outlet adapter adds another layer of protection. I will only buy brand name batteries from reputable sources and will only charge it in a wall outlet and I feel completely safe doing so BUT I still never leave one charging unattended and always have them in a metal container while charging.

If any of the above is incorrect, someone please correct me.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The only thing I ever sucked directly into my lungs was hand rolled and we arent supposed to talk about it here lol. I never thought people actually did that with PVs. I do it exactly like I would an analog back when I used tobacco.

The only exception was the first and only time I let both batteries die when I first started vaping and had to lean on an Njoy disposable. Sucking on it like it was a straw in a soda was the only way to get any satisfaction out of it. Of course since then I have amassed a collection of various Ego batteries that I could last through a week without having to charge lol.

2 AW IMR 18650 2000mah and another KPT2, this time from Sweet-Vapes since they carry the AW batteries I like better.

Going all KPT2 for my daily drivers and using my Davide Minis for flavors I use sporadically but not every day. The more I use the KPT2 the more I like it. Its just so easy to fill compared to the Davide minis that I love, but are sort of a pain in the *** to fill every night lol.

Reminds me a Big Bang Theory episode I saw, um, last week? Sheldon and um Penny, went into a Best Buy type store (this was a rerun) to get Leonard a birthday gift....and Sheldon ended up helping everyone there, hacking into their computer system, and ordering parts from a neighboring store to be delivered to that store before Penny found an employee to stop him. The guy said, "What do you think you are doing?" and Sheldon said, "Evidently your job. By the way 1234 is not a secure password."

Well, for me, I could possibly see getting a couple of different APV's.....I was drooling over a Darwin last night, until I realized how much it cost.....

BTW, Dayvape, how long have you been a member that you have over 2k posts?

The flavor is what keeps me off analogs, that, and the knowledge of what I know NOW that is in analogs that was way more addictive than nicotine. BUT, well, if I couldn't get this....yeah, I might go back to analogs if I hadn't beaten the nic necessity yet.

I know right? I just bought 2 EVOD kits and I love them one pink and one yellow. That is 2 total batteries of each color and 4 BCC of each color. And get this for luck, I won 2 more pink EVOD BCCs in the contest and because the coloring was not exactly right in the yellow kit they are sending me 2 more yellow EVOD BCCs, their idea not mine, I did not complain. The only problem is I have blown threw 4 coils in just 2 weeks so I know what yall mean. I wish I could find a place that sells coils that really last. The place where I bought the kits said they are getting new ones in and are sending me replacements when they get there. I hope they work.

Before you start to rebuild your own coils I would strongly recommend getting an ohm meter so you can find out what ohms you're building in the coil before putting it on your pen battery.

And getting back ups for your back ups like Kitsune said is a very valuable piece of advice.

CE4s are a disposable product and not readily serviced, and usually last for less than a month. If they are tasting burnt its time to pitch. If he enjoys vaping time to upgrade to a unit that allows coil replacement..vivi novas, Kanger products, Davide products the list is long....

Ordered two more KPT2s from Brian at Veteran. Still love my Davide minis but after using the KPT a little more I think I might use it for the "Top 3" liquids I have in my rotations and the Davide Minis for those that I occasionally want but aren't all dayers. Its just so much easier to fill AND coils are seeming to last longer in it than my Davide minis.

As always Brian thanks for the awesome service and prices. You might save $1 going somewhere else but you will not get better service!

Okay, you bring up a couple of questions, Prot. The chipset that the Vamo uses - since I've seen the KMax referred to as essentially a more expensive clone of the Vamo (and you pay for the pretty), I'm assuming the Kmax uses the same thing. But isn't that the same chipset that the Zmaxes use? Could the chipset itself be what is causing the problems?

Does anyone who have a Vamo here use a Pro Tank (original or two) or a full sized Davide? Because there was a notation about the Vamo 5 (as all Vamo models and some other APVs) have with KPTs, but it didn't go into detail, or provide a workaround, and I have, well, FIVE KPT2s.

Frankly, what I would LOVE to do is actually HOLD the prospective models in my hand. While hubby is gone tomorrow, I'll call up the two local stores that I'm not SURE of what they have in stock - Cloud 9 and the new one I haven't visited yet - and see what they have in stock other than the MVP 2 (although I THINK Cloud 9 may only have the MVP 1 in stock, but it will feel the same) and the other, but I think they have the Smoketek SID in stock (which I almost ended up getting instead of the Sigelei) and the MVP2, but I don't THINK they have the Innoken SVD in stock.

Frankly, I'm pretty split between the SVD and the MVP, but I will need to know how the MVP feels in my hand, frankly, because sometimes I have issues in my hands. That and, well, since the batteries can't be replaced, the MVP's basically die when the batteries reach the end of their life, which I've heard can be as short as a year and half. With the MVP, even though it's better for a battery to be completely discharged (or discharged to the point where it can no longer be used) frequently, what I believe I'm going to have to do is set it up to charge every night, and use one of my original eGo 900 mah stick batteries when I go upstairs before I go to sleep, and when I get up in the middle of the night, and when I get up before I get downstairs, if I went the MVP route.

If I go with the SVD, is there a lanyard that would fit with that? I know NOW that a Provari lanyard would have fit my Sigelei, but what about the SVD?

Oh, and I'm sure I'll still be researching all weekend. It will take until at least Monday or Tuesday for DV to get my package, and she didn't say how long it would be before Eric would be able to test it (and it would require consistent use for a bit, just firing it up for five minutes won't necessarily bring out the problems).

I went to the semi local flea market yesterday in hopes of finding an e cigarette booth I'd heard someone talk about. All of his tanks were knock offs, however the ce4s seemed to be better than any legit ce4 I've seen. His juice though! I sampled every juice he had (was on the verge of over dosing on nicotine by the end of it since they all had nicotine in them, haha) and they were all pretty good. I didn't taste one single that was gross, some just didn't appeal as much as others. His prices seemed pretty decent for a local place (3 10mls for 20 or 7 each and 5 for no nic). I got to talking to him a bit and he said he mixes them all himself and takes requests for juice flavors. I finally found a tobacco one I like, called classic pipe tobacco. I also got a strawberry ice cream one and a aqua berry blast flavor (I don't taste any berries, just watermelon and bubblegum which is fine by me). The reason I liked it so much was because he didn't bash the other local places, was very kind, and his prices were definitely reasonable considering the quality of juice. My only gripe is, he uses a 80/20 pg/VG mix standard and some juices only come in certain levels of nicotine. Other than that, he's the best local place I've seen so far! His website is smokeless-u.com if anyone wants to check it out!

The guys that opened the shop are the same guys that have been running the Smoky Mtn Vape group for 5 years and are very knowledgable. That is the biggest difference between them SVD the others. They also know how to make a profit by packaging items together at a somewhat reasonable price overall and a very reasonable price when compared to the other B&Ms. Plus their liquids are as tasty as Fuzion and $1 less for a 30ml.

I had this issue when rinsing off my pt2. It was simple to see where it went and put back in, my wife however lost hers without noticing it, and wasted a whole tank of juice before she told me and I was able to find out why and get her a new o ring in there.

The biggest problem with any atomizer not being able to fire on a mod is overtightening. New vapers have a tendency to crank down atty's onto their devices. It doesn't even have to be snug, just screw down until you get a little resistance and it's down. The Vamo was very susceptible to pushing the center pin down causing no connectivity, i can imagine most any mod can have this problem.

My opinions regarding the vamo. It is a good starting mod. It's heavy. If you can deal with the 33mhz chipset (rattlesnake sound) great! Personally, i can't stand it. To me it gave an inconsistent vape, due to the pulsing, no matter how fast it happens. I noticed a humongous difference when i went past the Vamo.

If i was purchasing one of the mods you have listed it would be the MVP, it can go all day on a charge, has 510 and ego threads, can vape while charging if needed. MVP 2 has variable wattage and an ohm checking ability as well. All around a solid device.

However if you really want to go with replaceable batteries i would go with the SVD. I progressed from my vamo to the svd. It is capable of all 3 types of batteries as it is telescoping. variable voltage/wattage etc all the same bells and whistles. It is lighter then the vamo as well. It also has the cool distinction of looking like a lightsaber! Can't lose with that!

Enjoy your choice whichever it is.

Okay, so I finally took the plunge. Went to my local B&M and got a stainless steel Evic starter kit, the matte black replacement body, two 18650 B 3400 mAh batteries, the Nitecore Intellicharger i4 battery charger and a 5-pack of 1.8 ohm KPT coils as a late birthday present to myself.

When I got home I found my package of juices from Medic. Yay!

All in all, it's a very good Friday. Now, I just gotta go through this novel that they call a "users' manual" to figure out how to work this Evic. Can't wait until my batteries get a full charge to give it a go.
