joe2003 got a reaction from csimmons in 5 Years a member here!
So I joined VT 5 years ago and I have to say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made!
There's no way I can fully express my thanks to Christopher and many others here for the help and support they've provided. All the fun I've had with Birddog,Jeffb,Mark and all the folks who used to stay up all night in chat BS'ing on vaping and any other subject that came along is priceless.
I still miss seeing posts from folks like MiataFrank,Brian,Snubber,Uma...Oh and one of my all time fave trolls is back too: Hi Dayvape

Vaping really started out as a hobby for me,always lookin for the next PV or the search for a
coil that would last indefinitely lol.
I never was a cloud chaser and sub-ohming holds no interest for me,Building coils is beyond my patience and skills too.I have made a few nice mods that I still occassionally use though.
These days the hobby aspect has kinda dimmed and I just use vaping as a habit replacement.
Mainly I use Boge or Smoktech cartos in a tank with Spinner style batts.Convenience is the main thing I look for now which is why I still sometimes use cigalikes.Greensmoke are my faves in this area.

The message I have for any smoker who wants to get away from tobacco is:VAPING WORKS
If you give it a chance and learn some basic safety guidelines it can be a life changer!

My thanks to all the newer members who've stepped up to offer help and advice to any who ask,and for giving them the technical and safety info they need to make this work.
    Yall Rock!

Yeah I know this was rambling and long winded,us old folks get that way sometimes

BTW any suggestions for a tank or CE style clearo that is not a juice hog,has inexpensive, long lasting replacement coils and is hassle free as to filling, maintenance etc. would be wonderful
    Thanks Yall.

Technology has improved sooo much in the ecig werld from where they started
    THAT...

After 40yrs of hardcore smoking (2 1/2 + pks daily non filters)

    I finally QUIT!!!

    Here's my story
I werk n a Steelshop where we ALL smoke
the guys I werk with started vaping a couple of yrs ago & watch'd them do both ecigs & cigs..
They coodnt get enuff satisfaction in ecigs that they need'd a bigger kick than ecigs wood give'm
I told'm that when ecigs cood kick like a mule I'd try it...
One of the guys gotta new one a while back that had variable voltage & he was cough'n his lungs up & I ask'd him that cood be strong enuff fer me,,
    I tried it.. WOW
Technology had changed enuff fer me ta give this fad a try...

My mother-n-law gimme an old Evod tank & some cheapass battery & some "tabacco 24mg"
& I started banging that thing like a screen door in a tornado...
That was on Jan 7, 2015
By 1/9/15 I was ebay order'g bigger batteries & tanks
I had variable batteries overnited which I got in following Tues mail (still cheaper than buy'n local)...
    WOW whatta difference that made..
    I hadda go better now...
I hadda Sigelei Zmax mod coming in on Sat mail & hadda have a nice tank ta fit on it,,
I got on Craigslist & found a guy that hadda Aspire Nautilus mini fer $10.
(cuz he coodnt get the cinnamon his gf pit in it out)
We met up atta safe location fer the transaction & blazed back home waiting fer the mail lady ta deliver my Sigelei..
18350 charged & ready,, mini filled up with tabacco 24 & mail lady up the street,,
    tick tock tick tock
I still dont understand why it takes 20mins fer her ta get 300yrds on a Sat???
Got it open,, tank on,, battery in, turn'd on & HIT FIRE BUTTON......
thought my lungs were gonna explode.....
I WAS HAPPY with the kick but COUGH'd up a lung. Hahagaaaaa
it came outta the box with voltage set on 5v & wattage set on 10..
Hmmmmmmmm lets turn it down some???
My Bitter 1/2 says I needa stay on cigs if I'm gonna cough like that (she's a comic)..
Got it turned down after a short YouTube video cuz it didnt have any instructions in sealed box..

    Ahhhhhhhh this is the ticket,,
    Good mouth hit
    Good flavor
    Good cloud
Hmmm (lets try this like my young & stupid days of high skool)
    BONG HIT???
    Ohhhhhh yeah...
Hadnt hadda cig since last Fri nite
Dont get me wrong,, I went through 40ml last week soooo yes I hit this thing a lot...
BUT NO CIGS FER ME SINCE..

My findings & what really made me give up the ashes,,
    Was the warm/moist inhalations
& from the change of variable voltage battery ta a Digital MOD & good tank
Digital MOD gave my the OMG kick I was looking fer
& the Nautilus verticle dual coils give me the taste I was looking fer

The Bitter 1/2 says I can prolly save enuff fer the NEW BOAT I'm wanting???

Ps. I know I spell funny but its easy cuz I'm from OKLAHOMA... Hahagagagagagaaaa

I do the same thing. I try to buy in 120ml batches and it lasts a while. I can tell a difference in mine though. I can taste a bit of "chemical" taste in nearly all juices I buy. I assume it is the nicotine, but it isn't as bad in high VG juices, so it could be the PG. I just leave them in a cool, dark cabinet for a few days with the lid off and it goes away. I then seal it up and use it as needed.

I have a tendancy to talk this way in real life. I try to not sound too "Hillbillyish", but it just slips out. Everyone is Ma'am and Sir, no matter how old or young, and a lot of y'alls... I guess it is part of my upbringing and being raised in a small ranching/farming community. To make matters worse, my wife, who is hispanic, has an accent that is closer to a Southern Belle, with a little South of the Border mixed in.... We can't use any voice activated technology...lol

As for me, I feel better now that I vape! I know the studies are still going on when it comes to vapeing, but the studies are long since in on analogs..... and it leads to death! I like to think that worse case it's not perfect, but I still feel better than I did before I switched! It goes beyond the act itself, I don't have the stress "knowing" that every time I lit an analog it was just one more nail..... I think we have some room to improve when it comes to vapeing, but that's just another step farther down the right path!

joe2003 reacted to Compenstine in Sub Ohming has gotten ridiculous.
I don't think it is fair to bash or belittle anyone that sub ohms. Yes there are issues with kids doing this and that is a shame. There has always been issues with the attitude of Young Dumb and full of %^$. That will be the case no matter what it is. Go to Daytona Beach during spring break.

I think there needs to be some tolerance here for those that do Sub Ohm and do it for the simple fact to stay of analogs. Yes Vaping is a touchy issue because of the FDA, but we all know that will not change. I remember when people making homemade Mods from flashlights were bashed for bringing on the wrath of the FDA and blah blah... Now look at what we have today, that is what has brought us to point of having Vamos, Provari's, Twist batteries, and so on. If it is not for you, that is fine.... If is then that should be fine too. If a person is good with a Twist battery and KPT pro 2 and it is what keeps them off analogs... More power to them. If a person needs more than that to stay off analogs, who are we to tell them they are wrong for doing so? Sub Ohming is only silly to those that don't feel the need. How boring would this world be if every one did the same thing because it was what a few people dictated to you that you could do. It is no different than the person that Bashes and belittles vaping as whole because they quit cold turkey. They think anyone that vapes is silly and weak minded. I did it why can't you attitudes are insensitive to others and narrow minded.

Ok, so I'm not naming names, but a few people from this group helped me out immensely. Lets just say its like Christmas around here.

Buuut.... Someone provided me with an aero base for my protank 2, and I have to say, it is the best thing ever! I filled my protank with the usual juice (dopey drops), put the tank together using the aero base, and 2 things are immediately different. 1. it does not leak! no more flooding the battery head! and 2. the flavor is soooo much better now! This may all be in my head, but I am so happy right now!

To those of you that decided to bless me and my hubby, I thank you again. I honestly can't believe how helpful everyone on this forum has been (I don't have very good luck on forums and such, I seem to be a troll magnet).

Thank you for reinstating my faith in humanity, apparently there is hope.

    Hugs to everyone!

I can't say for sure if your auto switch has the amp draw to make it worthwhile but
you should try a SmokTech 1.7 ohm prepunched single coil carto in that pipe.
I use them in my mech switch pipe with tank and they work great.
Oh and I use IMR 18350 batts in mine and get about 4 hrs/1.25 tanks per batt before the
vape drops off too much and I need a recharge.

Ummmm You referring to me? A lot of people call me Comp here... BTW Yes I do CC from time to time so that makes me a Dumbass? I think it is lame to insult and Judge all for the stupidity of a few.

    ------------------------
"Though the explosion occurred during a cloud competition, the mod that blew up was not owned by any of the competitors in the contest."

"the rest of the evening was hushed and subdued as conversations focused on the importance of safety"

"(added 08/20/14) A NOTE FROM THE SHOW ORGANIZER: Please note that as a precaution; we, the event organizers decided to cancel the second cloud comp that was scheduled for Sunday. In light of what happened on Saturday, we used the time to have a battery safety class. It was very well received and I believe better attention was paid due to the events of Saturday evening. The entire rest of the day’s give aways focused on encouraging people to ditch bad/unsafe batteries. Many exhibitors stepped up with valuable prizes for surrendering bad batteries."
    --------------------------------

Those that do this and ignore the safety precautions are not too bright, that I agree on. The ones that think this is toy for amusement are the ones that should think twice about those around them. This is why when new people come on the forum we emphasize safety! Most friends I have that do these competitions are extremely safety conscious. It is the few that don't do the home work and follow ohms law that blow their face off and can harm others around them.

I'm glad no one got hurt and hope this person learned a valuable lesson. Seems the people running the event were also doing the wise thing and teaching safety. Maybe what these events should have is a class in safety at every event, spot lighting things like this to show how dangerous it can be. Also add the old standby warning "This can be dangerous and should not be attempted without proper training."
