  1. The wall adapter I use came with the iPower 80W TC, I also use the ones that came with the iStick 50W. Your adapter should NOT get hot when in use. If it does, I'd be looking at getting a new one. Never, and I mean NEVER plug the charger into a USB port on a computer or laptop. That's a good way to losing your PC/laptop should the cord get too hot. I always use a wall adapter and never leave it unattended (read: never charge it overnight while you're sleeping).
  2. If you take reasonable care, you shouldn't have a problem. The majority of the news stories you see about batteries exploding? When you dig deeper, it often times turns out that it's user error -- like your boss putting her batteries in the wrong direction, carrying around a battery without a protective case in a pocket full of change and car keys, not turning a mod off and sticking it into a pocket where the battery could be triggered into the 'on' position, etc. My personal preference is for the mods with built in batteries simply because of convenience although I have many mods that use external batteries. For me, the convenience of having 5000 mAh (Eleaf iPower 80W TC), and not having to charge it but once a week is so much better than having to carry around extra batteries (in a case). Everyone's different and have their own preferences. I like the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid).
  3. We speak 'Geek', not Greek. lol
  4. Sorry, but we're an English speaking forum. If you want members to answer you, it will need to be in English, please.
  5. If I were you I'd go back to the vendor you bought it from to ask for the replacement coils. Did you do that already and are just trying to find a better price?
  6. Personally, I've not heard our members talk about the Herakles other than when it first came out. If I remember correctly, and I could be wrong... it didn't make that big an impression on most who did try the tank. Then, tanks like Smok Beast and Baby Beast came along and knocked the Herakles out of the water. Hopefully, someone who has at least tried this tank will come along to give more insight. Sorry I can't be of more help!
  7. Of the mods I have with a built in battery, when they go bad they just stop working. That's just my experience, though. Like @Bebop said, by the time you need to worry about that, you'll have several more new SHINY toys to play with.
  8. Got a VT Templar in the mail today. Playing with it now... Oooh, shiny new toy!
  9. Let us know if this works or not. I'm hoping it does!
  10. I would really like to see the 'deeming rules' go the way of the dodo. While I agree the vaping industry needs some oversight, they do not need the ridiculous amount the deeming rules proposed. Thanks for the link!
  11. Did you take a good look at the O-rings on the coils that leak versus the ones that don't? I seem to remember something like this in the past with different tanks and coils, of course, but it was the O-rings in that, too. In that case, just changing out the O-rings on the coil seemed to do the trick. Might give it a try?
  12. I'm gonna go with... no, but I did, and found it to be informative (for the time), and interesting. None of the article's message said that PG is supposed to be "pretty toxic stuff."
  13. Mmmm Vanilla custard filled cinnamon danishes... Can you tell I haven't eaten anything today?
  14. If inhaling PG is unsafe, then you have to ask yourself why they put PG into asthma inhalers?
  15. See? And you can put this into "what you learned about vaping today."
  16. If you still like those flavors, get 0 mg juice of the same flavor and mix it down to 3 mg.
  17. Okay, for the most part with a premade coil, two weeks or a little more is doing good. If your new coil sat for that long and it still tasted burnt, I'm wondering how high the wattage is that you're vaping at? With a new coil or using new-to-you juice, set the watts low, vape. If that's not working for you, turn it up a bit, vape. Repeat until you get a slight burnt flavor then back it down a bit. That's the sweet spot for that coil and juice. Don't go by what settings others tell you to use, use your own judgement to let it tell you when the right wattage is (if you're using lower than what's recommended).
  18. Just a few questions to satisfy my curiosity... What brand and model of tank are you currently using? How long is the coil lasting before you have to change it? What is it doing for you to think it's defective? What resistance is your coil? What kind of juice are you using (PG/VG ratio and is it really dark and/or sweet)? With the answers to the questions above we might be able to help you make a coil last longer. Dark, sweet juices will burn out a coil faster then light, not as sweet flavors.
  19. Congrats, @Bebop! Four years isn't anything to hide in a corner, you should've shouted from the rooftops. @VapeMama, glad to see you! And we need to see you more often around here, you've been pretty quiet lately.
  20. Saw that the other day, it's an interesting article. We need more like this!
  21. Thanks, everyone! @Bebop you weren't too far behind me when you came on. I'm glad you came to VT -- and stayed, this place wouldn't be the same without you and your wit and knowledge that you pass to new and experienced vapers alike. @Edna, you've been a very welcome addition and a very quick learner! I look forward to seeing your first year vaperversary soon. @Earthling789, you know... I might actually have some old CE4s in my stash o'stuff. Might need to take a look one of these days and go through all that to see what gets unearthed. Sort of like a vaping time capsule, lol. Thanks for sticking around and being such a valuable resource to old and new vapers. @Walt, this place is special because we have members like you so come, ask questions, listen to the answers given, and then pass that along to new people coming in. I'm looking forward to seeing you around for years to come!
  22. Even after year of trying everything that was available, I was never able to stop smoking. One day, five years ago, I saw a co-worker outside sucking on what looked like a pen (eGo T 650 mAh) and exhaling plumes of what looked like smoke but smelled so much better. I stopped and starting asking questions. That night after work I stopped by the B&M and bought myself my first vape gear: an eGo-T 650 mAh battery, two CE4 tanks with 1.5 ohm coils with a 5-pack back up, an AC adapter, a charging cable, and three bottles of juice. Back then, it cost a total of $165.00 A few days later I went back and discovered that eGo had a new battery out -- a 650 passthrough! And Kanger put out a new tank -- a T2 with top coils/short wick. I started vaping and collecting more back ups, more juices, never really looking back. The six packs of smokes I had in the fridge remained there for another two years until I finally threw them away. The first six months or so, I'd tempt fate and would light up just to see if I still liked it or not. The answer would be... not. Haven't looked back since. Around the first six month mark, I was playing on the internet and discovered a different vape forum. It was too big, the people weren't very patient with "noobs", nor were they very kind or friendly so I continued looking around. Hey! Check out this new place I found! It's called Vapor Talk. The people were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and I felt welcomed here. It's where I call 'home' now. The people are wonderful, they are all about helping new vapers with their questions no matter how many times they answer the same thing. They enjoy derailing threads, but that only makes the conversation more interesting and the subject comes back around... eventually. Yes, we do periodically get some bad apples here, but it's rare and they usually get tired of our slower pace and go away. The good ones stay. Eventually, I was asked to become an admin here, and it was a scary thing, and I'm still learning. This long-winded thing is my way of saying a BIG THANK YOU! to @Christopher for starting this forum, to my fellow admins and mods, and to all the wonderful members here (both old and new), who make the forum a place to hang my hat. These days, after all this time, I no longer have any doubts that I'll ever go back to smoking. Vaper Talk has played a huge part in helping with this. Happy 5-year vaperversary to me!
  23. So far I'm liking it a lot. The Ace of Spades sampler comes with two cartridges (basically cartomizers) filled with a higher nic (16 mg I believe) juice in menthol and one in tobacco flavor. The automatic cut off is about a four second draw? Decent vapor and throat hit too. I would definitely recommend this for those times when you need more nic, less time to vape-types of situations. You'll need a thinner juice for the filler material to absorb -- I would go more VG than a 50/50.
