I just wanted to add my 2¢ to the "to chuck or not to chuck" topic of recent debate.

IMO, whichever style of vaping you choose, whether it's mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, it should be the one that satisfies you the most. I see nothing wrong with either style, and both have their benefits.

If you enjoy a vaping style that feels the most like smoking an analog, then mouth-to lung (slight to moderate air flow restriction) is probably the way to go. If you enjoy "chucking" huge clouds, then direct-to-lung (sub-ohm with low nic & plenty of air flow) might be for you. Granted, cloud chucking is mostly performed as spectacle, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with a little showing off every now and then, if that's what you're into.

Basically, there's no "rule book" on the correct way to vape (that I know of), so it's up to you. I typically vape mouth-to-lung, but I occasionally like to show off to vaping buddies with a Mount St. Helen-style eruption of vapor. Just remember that filling a room with dense clouds of vapor can be a little off-putting to some people, so "vaping etiquette" dictates that you use a little common sense before doing so.

Also, I've heard many times that cloud chasers experience little to no flavor in their vapor, but I've found that this is definitely not the case for me, as the juices that I use provide plenty of flavor from both methods.

Lastly, vape safe...know your equipment and its limitations, and however you choose to vape, do it because it makes you happy.

Hahaha I know, I first tried it when I called my vape shop and asked for wick and they said they had cotton bacon. I was so confused lol.

Rixter and Tam, yeah you're right. Looks like my fluke multi is going back to school with me. I just tested a build in my new RDA, it's a tricoil with 7 wraps of 24 gauge. It's reading at 1.1 ohm ! I really thought it'd be a lot lower, somewhere in the mid sub ohm, to tell you the truth........just goes to show you don't really know till ya know!

That was some really good information that you provided, but I have to disagree with you on one point:

"I really don't hardly ever test my coils anymore because I just don't build that low, nor do I find scorching hot builds really that enjoyable."

You should ALWAYS check your builds before firing them. It doesn't matter if you've done it a bazillion times...you can't know whether your build is safe without metering it first. You can do the same wrap over and over and still have small (and sometimes not-so-small) variances in resistance that could lead to disaster.

Granted, modern high-amp IMRs are pretty safe and, when shorted, take a substantial amount of time to actually pop, but like you said, "it's best to be safe".

You don't have to spend a ton on a meter either...you can get ohmmeters online for around $10-$20 that should do the trick just fine.

I smoked for about 35 years. I got a Leo 800mAh on 4/8/2012, and never smoked another cigarette...never even had the first craving for one.

I just picked up some US organic this weekend. Usually deseed it and boil in distilled water and let it dry.

I made the dual twisted on a whim the other night. It was super easy. I just chucked an gun cleaning patch holder in the battery powered drill and a c-clamp on the bench and went to town... It was kinda fun.

I am going to have to get me a better build deck, like the Plume Veil. The 454 is getting to be a bigger pain than it is worth to play on. I like the fact it has a 2 positives and 2 negative screw holes. I guess I am getting old and grumpy...

Tiger coils can be up to 1.5 in a dual set or even single. It takes about 13 wraps for per coil for the dual. It just depends on the wire used for the twist. If you want higher resistance use 30g round and .5 flat for the twist. You will get a good cloud and good flavor. The Tiger coil is the best of both IMO. If you are using 28g round and .9 flat you can still get a 1ohm single coil with around 11-12 wraps.

Innokin iClear 30B and iClear X.1. Both 2.1 ohms, 30B came with the kit. Also have replacement 1.5 ohm coils, but I am certain that the coils are fine.

What kind of "tanks" are you using, and have you checked the resistance on them?

Patricia, when I'm looking for drip tips I go to Google and put in "drip tips" and do the search under "images". Then, I look through all the pretty pictures until I find something I like. Then, I go to that page to find out what it's called. If the page/site is a vendor I've used before I just buy it. If it's not a vendor I've either purchased from before or heard good things, then I do another Google search under "web" and try to find a vendor that I know who carries it. Easy.

    But very dangerous.

How do you think I wound up with well over 200 drip tips?

I have to recommend the Smok Pyrex & Stainless Steel 510 drip tips. They are absolutely the most comfortable and best fitting drip tips I've ever used, and they don't get hot. You can get the whole set of four different styles for $24.74 shipped on eBay...it's where I got mine.

The site looks really good on my tablet, but a little bland on my PC. Small and light text is the main thing. I give it 1¾ thumbs up.

A little redundancy is fine. A little redundancy is fine.

Since I would trust any of your recs, Rix, I just ordered a 30 ml bottle of this juice. I've been looking for something that's similar to the FLaN I've been vaping for so long and I love blueberries and coconut...

Thanks for the rec! I'm looking forward to trying this out.

What was the PG/VG ratio and nic level you got? How's the throat hit? These days I'm not looking for any throat hit, just flavor so I'm curious.

My Provari mini is the only one I use an 18350 for and I only use it with a KPT2 and 1.8 ohm coil so I don't need anything high performance for that. My AW IMR 18350 is fine for that. If anything, though, I'd like to get longer battery life than the 700 mAh. Guess I'm going to have to invest in an extension so I can use my Panasonic 18650 3400 mAh in it...

    Sorry, Rix. No help here.

I am no help either, but would like to know the answer too! I bought a couple of Xtar and later found out that they are only rated at 7amps my go to build is .4ohms. So this is a no go. I have seen the purple Efests and they are said to be rated at 10.5 amps. This is right at my limit and have read they exaggerate their amperage claims. I really like the size of the 4nine with the 18350's and would like to use it.

I have really quit using my drippers, it is just too much trouble. I only use them in the evenings sitting in my recliner. I enjoy the experience I get from them, but sometimes it isn't worth the added effort.

At 1 to 1.2 Ohms I would say any Efest or like quality would be fine. IMO I would stick with one that is at least 20amp. I don't use them so mine is only a guess.
