Local Vape Shop Says No More E-Cig Supplies coming in Mail

Recommended Posts

I stopped by our local vape shop today because they had been burned down and I wanted to see their new arrangement. Well there was a new girl behind the counter whose' people skills are less than desirable. When I started talking about the juice and hardware like I knew something about it her whole demeanor changed. She looked at me suspiciously and her answers to my questions were cold. I told her that I did know a good bit about the hardware and juice because I did most of my buying on the internet but I make regular purchases from them to support my local vape shop. She said smugly" well you won't be doing that much longer. It is fixing to be illegal to sell any of this stuff online because kids are having access to nicotine and nicotine delivering equipment. She added "and that is only right, we cant sell cigarettes online so why would we sell this stuff online". She said "it is already a federal offence to sell anything with nicotine in it online". I'm sorry but I could not help but smile when I say "oh ya, well I just bought a boat load of juice with nicotine in it". You could tell that put a fire under her when she said "well that was illegal and it is fixing to be stopped. You are not going to be able to buy anything, hardware or juice". I did not argue with her I just said Oh ya? and smiled. Her juice is $7.00 for 10ml, $20.00 for 30ml and $35.00 for 50ml. Your only choice in nic is low, medium or high. She did not know what mgs were in each. Also the only ratio you can get their juice in is 50/50. She had a total of 28 flavors to choose from. I also checked out some of the hardware prices. 1100 batteries, which she said is eGo but the eGo logo is no where in sight is $18.00. and she did not have any VV that I saw. I saw 1 mini KPT 2 that she said is $26.00. The replacement coils are $3.00 a piece. She also said that it is a rumor that EVOD and KPT coils are interchangeable. She said if you try to use them like that you will have leaks, burn outs and a whole lot of problems so she tells people they have to buy EVOD coils for EVOD BCCs and KPT coils for KPTs. I just did not like her attitude. She seemed to be getting a great deal of satisfaction that soon no one but whole sellers would be able to purchase supplies online so we would be forced to buy everything we need from her.

I am sure she is a minimum wage earner with little training or experience. I do however expect to see online sales go away once "big tobacco"gets geared up and requests a ban from their dependents(government entities who like the tax revenue).I suspect the tax will be based on the common lie that a full cartomiser equals one or two packs of analogs. My advice to everyone is get yourself weaned off the nicotine while you are still in control.

Doesn't require the FDA .Already classified as a tobacco product . Internet sales in general are an untapped source of tax revenue that the government will not be able to ignore much longer. And tax revenue on traditional tobacco sales are drying up quickly not just from vaping. There are going to be more changes in store for us besides "Obamacare"

The only thing they can possible stop online sales of is Juice containing nicotine. You can not stop me from buying "flashlight accessories"! Which is what everything would turn into. As it is now, the only thing i purchase now that might change is nicotine. Flavorings for diy - around before ecigs - Batteries - lol . A1 Kanthal Resistance wire - How many lightbulbs are in your house? Cotton or Hemp - another lol :D

This is one of the reasons I DIY my juices. Wizard Labs has 500ml bottles of 100mg fluid on sale for $54.99 i bought one and it will last me a long while. But having said that, It will just create a black market and become a bigger issue if the FDA does block Internet sales. I do see them forcing a tax and like porn forcing proof of age for sales. You May even see fluid popping up in gas stations around the country just like the cigalikes you see now.

She is wrong! You can buy cigarettes, pipe tobacco and cigars online. Those companies that sell online have to follow state import and international customs laws along with age verification. Also you still have to pay your state tax if you order from a company in your state. If you order from another state you might receive a tax bill from your home state (Jenkins Act).

As I am typing this...I see how we are all going to get hit on tobacco tax. :wallbash:

Yeah, it was classified as a tobacco product when the FDA originally sued to get it classified as a drug delivery device. The judge said no, it's atobacco product. That was YEARS ago though. Not sure why they are making a big push on it now. It will seriously piss me off if I can't order online anymore, and if that happens, I hope its just juice, not hardware. Franly, with the money brought in with the vaping industry, it would be like collapsing a mini economy.

And that reminds me Medic, does your site allow for credit cards, or just PayPal?

OMG, you are right, I forgot from when hubby was into cigars. I think that is the thing - they see how much money is getting paid into this mini economy, and they want to add some sin taxes.

Just paypal at the moment. We are looking into getting a secure gateway up and running though. :)

I hope that the B&M's pop up, but their benefit is that you can try it and buy it there.

One of my local B&M's has been saying the same thing. The owner and I go back and forth all the time on the issue. I hope it never happens, but he thinks it will, and very soon. If I have to buy everything from him, at his 30% markup...also, what about REOsmods?!?

I couldn't live without ever having tried a reo. Better get on this quick.

Already here in Albany Ga they have the juice for sale right beside the cash register. $3.99 for 5ml. I have not tried it, I figure it is probably some low grade stuff. I really hope I am not forced into buying that.

Cool. I can never remember the PayPal information (for when I get to a point where my tastes have evened out from the damage done from the seizures) as it's in hubby's name (he beat me to making the account, and you can only have 1 Pay Pal account per bank account). Despite the fact that I have a TON of flavors already, and probably some I'm going to think about trading away at a vape meet in the future (I just don't know how long to wait to see if I ever get to the point I can taste that flavor vape again - pretty sure I have an unopened bottle of milk chocolate juice, and a nearly full bottle of hot chocolate, and since I can't taste chocolate vape, they don't do me any good), I will hopefully still be trying new flavors out - possibly seeing, "well, maybe I can replace this in my rotation with that," or keeping something different on hand for when I can't taste the other stuff.

I hope that the B&M's pop up, but their benefit is that you can try it and buy it there.

Personally, I don't think they'll go after hardware sales online. And I don't see how they can ban juice sales online without taking the extra step and banning cigarette/cigar sales online (I just checked it out, and yes, you can buy them online domestically). I personally just think they want a piece of the money pie....and yeah, they might restrict flavors....oh, that reminds me of something.....but I hope they don't restrict flavors. I personally think that it should be a federal mandate that e-cig stuff can't be purchased or possessed by anyone under the age of 18, instead of leaving it up to the states or municipalities to pass the law.

I know when I started smoking at 15, the law in my state was 18 to buy analogs, 16 to possess - not that it meant that I didn't know where I could buy from. Of course, that was around the time you could go to your little corner market with a note from your mom saying something like, please sell this type of cigarette to my daughter so and so because I'm sick, or I have a sick baby, and I can't get up there, and the market would do it.

Part of the juice I buy comes from Better Vapes. I guess their prices are so good (on Evods, coils, the limited amount of drip tips they have, and juice only) because of that - they kept their storefront prices the same as their online prices. But the mark up, even on their website, of the other hardware is hard to justify. Their "bottom of the line" tank prices are good including Evods, and I don't know HOW they are selling the Vivi Novas cheaper than I'm finding them anywhere online, coil prices are good, but once you hit Tumbler level up, the mark up is up to 1/3. They are charging for an original Pro Tank what people online are charging for a Pro Tank 2 online (or in Discount Vaper's case, more). With the mini Pro-Tank 2, I could actually order it off DV website plus pay shipping, and end up paying about the same, or maybe less. The price difference in the Davide isn't THAT drastic, but they weren't even aware of a mini Davide existing. And I'm pretty sure they aren't familiar, even the owner, of APV's that they don't carry. They have APV's and mods in their store - some of them - but not on their website, so I have no idea of the prices of them. All I know is the Natural mod clone is, I think $65.

But the juice prices are great - $9 for 22 ml, perfectly in line with what you would expect online.

That don't surprise me at all. I would hesitate as well, might try it once just to test it. Problem is the Juice is more than likely cheap junk that will taste like crap to me. I'm too used to adding as much flavor as I want to my own vape juice LOL.

You know what really pisses me off about the whole e cig ban?. They have these new drugs being made every day and with all kind of side effects but the FDA don't care about. Your all ways seeing it on tv and the radio stations. But the drugs are not FDA approved. That's the big kicker about it.

All it is about the money. Most of your drugs these days do more harm then good. That's why we don't see the back woods doctors and proven medicine anymore. What happen to the all nature stuff?. I've been told there making synthetic drugs? It's on all who you pay really it's sad but true.

I hope this FDA thing does not stop B&M stores from selling nicotine based liquids.

I have no idea where I would get it to make my own juice. I don't want to mess around with pure nicotine either, it is dangerous stuff.

Yes, and 'regulation' means 'revenue', so they can buy more votes......... always done under the guise of 'for your own good'.
