What flavor are you vaping? Also, what's the PG/VG ratio? Like @Walt said, the bad taste could also be coming from the fact that you have a bad cold, have vaper's tongue, and bad taste buds. Make sure you're drinking lots of water (not soda/pop, coffee, tea or juice -- just water). Vaping dehydrates you and the "vaper's tongue" you mentioned is basically dehydration.

Haven't posted in this thread in a long while.  It has always been one of my favorite threads.  Kinda like a log of the vaping journey.
Today I learned that I keep learning.  I pulled out an atty that I haven't used in a very long time.  I remember it as a "fair" atty.  Pulled it apart and re-wicked it.  Noticed as I pulled the old wick out that the coil placement was really not in the best place and that there was a lot of cotton stuck in there.  Long story short I now have a great atty.  Been suckin on the thing all day.  Had no idea how good it was, lol.  I love this hobby.

Bravo on the knee!!!!  That is amazing compared to other stories I have heard.  Now the ankle!!!!

Well, I am glad they care about their bottom line as prosperity is a good thing and I love to see companies stay in business.  Having said that, I'm just not impressed with Smok.  It seems like they release three new mods a week.  Half of their "innovation" is gimmick.  They will put lights, buzzers, and whistles on their mods then press fit in the 510.  They will claim TC and half their mods really are poor in TC.   I have a paint-less Alien and a beastly king atty that will dump its contents over night.  Just not the kind of stuff I like laying around.  I think their are a lot of mods and tanks out there that don't have the hype factor of a Smok that are far better deals in terms of form, fit, and function.  I just dropped twenty bucks on an Hcigar Nemisis.  Oops I dropped it!  Crap, too late.  It cracked the tile.

Great! Vaping wouldn't really be required. We're not looking for reviews and things of that nature, more general industry news, regulation, laws and things of that nature. Easily found online but naturally would have to be re-written/researched. It's pay per article so please reach out to her if you think she'd be interested

Got a new toy, Athena Squonk Mod Kit. Comes with the bf rda and i have to say i am in love. I have really been missing squonking since i got rid of my Therion squonk. It is a full mechanical single battery mod and it works amazing, 6.5ml bottle lasts me all day as well as a single battery. Also the rda has amazing top airflow and a deep juice well. Mod also has a great safety feature, a lock switch just under the fire button. So no need to worry about auto fire when it is in your pocket.

With the airflow wide open it's much looser than a Nautilus, imo. Just a little tight for direct lung but plenty loose for a MTL device. I usually have it set at 3/4 open and that works for me. 

Mixed up some Apple Pie Ala Mode (Gelato to you @mattythornton!) Will give it a taste in a day or two. I did add some TFA Apple. We shall see............

I am using my 2/3 reading about your issue. When you fire the mod your puff timer is counting up and showing the amp out put?
The video Walt referenced I did to fix mine but it read no atomizer on the screen.
My suggestion is to flash the fermwere again. There may be an update too. Keep us informed.

If you're looking for a tank that takes 1.5 ohm coils or higher, if you can find them, the Kanger Pro Tank 3 or 4, the Aerotank V2, or my personal favorite is the Aspire Triton V2 take those coils.
