  1. You may want to make sure your air is open far enough, if you don't get enough airflow across the coils they get pretty hot, and burn the cotton. Other than the airflow the only other thing I can think of is you are using too many watts, or you aren't priming the coil well enough.
  2. I'm the same as Bebop right now, not spending as much time here as I was. In my case I'm spending more time riding down the road on my bike, and less time on the internet. Been thinking about a road trip, and if I do I may not have room for a laptop. So if you don't hear from me for awhile you will know what I'm doing. When the snow starts falling again I will spend more time here on VT, but until then I'll try to check in every day to see what is happening.
  3. Post your recipes, and I'm sure we can figure it out.
  4. There is a subforum for DIY recipes and there are some recipes there, also there are some sites that have DIY recipes. I'm sure some people here will provide you with links to their favorite sites. Didn't see that you already found the subforum.
  5. I sometimes play Fallout 4, not really into the fighting part but I like building things. Tried Skyrim, but don't like all the magic. Both games are modded, it makes them more interesting. Modding FO4 gives me more building options.
  6. Some juices need more steep time than others, seems like the longer they steep the better the flavor, but I have been known to mix and vape some flavors. There are ways to fast steep juices, I either use a ultra sonic cleaner or a small crock pot. I have also loosened the cap and put the bottle on the exhaust vent of my laser printer, which runs about 130f.
  7. When I first stated vaping a lot of the atomizers had the coil at the top, and had silica wicks that went down into the juice, I think the first bottom coil atomizer I had was a KPT tank. I currently use a Aspire RTA that works very well. The cotton wicks in a RTA have to go to the bottom of the tank.
  8. You seem to be well organized, I keep most of my mixing supplies, and my bulk juices in a mini fridge, I only have 8 mods, and 14 tanks that I use regularly so keeping them on my desk isn't a problem. (I have a large horseshoe shaped desk) I also have quite a few unopened still in the box mods and tanks, which I keep in a box in the closet. I use Avery labels with a printer for labeling my juices. You might want to give that a try.
  9. Check out Wizard labs, or Heartland Vapes. Don't know about WL, but HV has a DIY starter kit with a lot of different flavors in it.
  10. I bet those are the same people that don't know that most vegetables contain nicotine in trace amounts. I'm down to 2mg nic in my juice, and 0 nic in a couple of flavors, so someone who eats a lot of vegies might have a higher nic consumption than me.
  11. Welcome to VT It took me about 2 years of not smoking for me to get my taste buds back. It varies with different people.
  12. Some mods don't have a wattage setting for TC, just temp setting. I use Kanger mods exclusively, and there is no wattage setting in TC, it doesn't matter if I set it to 5 watts or 160 watts, it still functions the same, some other brands are the same, depends on who makes them. Kanger says the initial wattage depends on the coil resistance, I did read somewhere that the initial surge is at a specified voltage which would make sense. Whether that is at 3.3 or 3.7 Kanger isn't saying, or maybe it is higher than that I don't know. Some people say the initial surge is at max watts the mod will go, but I find that hard to believe since my .7 coils would burn the cotton using 160w, even if it only lasted a fraction of a second.
  13. I find that the anti vaping crowd doesn't rely on facts, but would rather make up something that suits their agenda. My opinion is the air in any major city in the US is more harmful than second hand vapor. Just my 2 cents worth.
  14. I like the aspire quad flex, it has a dual coil velocity style deck that's easy to build. The only downside is it don't have much of a juice well, but I use the RTA adapter, which holds about 2 ml of juice. After I modified the center pin I now have a RTA that I can fill using my dripbox which holds 7 ml of juice.
  15. Most people don't use SS 304 (food grade SS) for coils, but most do use SS 316L (surgical grade SS). 316L has a lower carbon content, and is more resistant to corrosion than 304. Most of the tanks manufactured do use SS 304 to make the main body of the tank, I believe most of the drop in, and premade SS coils are made with 316L wire.
  16. I don't know about a year, but I have been using some for a long time. Usually I change the coil when I want to change the resistance, I know I have been using a dual coil setup in one of my tanks for at least 6 months, just changing the cotton occasionally.
  17. Usually when using a rebuildable deck only the cotton needs to be replaced once a week or so. I can go longer, but I find after a week or so the flavor seems to be the issue, and replacing the wick after dry burning the coil makes it like a new coil.
  18. Good luck to you with your DIY mixing, remember what tastes good to someone else might not taste good to you, and the other way around too. Draino is easy to mix, and also wet sock flavor.
  19. When I get down to my last 30ml I mix up a 120ml batch, It usually sits for at least a week at room temp before I use it. From past experience the Bavarian cream needs to steep, like most other creams. The orange is usually ready to vape after mixing. After you DIY for awhile you will know which flavors need to steep a long time, and which don't need to steep very long. I mix a Big red gum flavor 3% cinnamon and 15% bubblegum, the cinnamon can be tasted right away, but the bubblegum needs to steep for a week to really taste it.
  20. I mix a orange cream juice, I use 15% blood orange, and 5% Bavarian cream, works for me.
  21. I no longer need or want a throat hit, I'm down to a 2mg nic mix, and in a couple of flavors I use 0 nic. I think it makes the juice sweeter when there is no nic. I also don't add PG to thin juice, I use distilled water instead, I find it makes the vape smoother, and a little cooler. The only PG I add to my juices is in the flavoring.
  22. Might give it a try, have everything but the milk chocolate, and the sweetener. maybe a little extra chocolate, and Bavarian cream will be a good substitute. been wanting to get some sweetener, but keep forgetting it when I order flavors.
  23. Them Sampans are very slow, ever hear the term slow boat from China? Whenever I order anything from Gearbest I figure on a 6 week wait.
  24. Usually in a case like that the problem is the center pin, probably needs to be lifted a little. Some 510 connections are a little shorter than others, and the spring might not be strong enough to push it up.
  25. I believe the Kanger non TC 50w Kbox will only read down to .3 ohms, the 75w TC Kbox will read down to .1, and the 160w will read down to .05. Why someone would use a .05 coil I couldn't imagine, but some people might.
