I picked one of these bad boys up and tried it for the first time the other day. First few hits= yuck (even after watching the video like 3 times on how to prep it and blowing out the priming fluid). But after that... Pow!! Right in the kisser!! I am learning how exactly to draw off the .357 to get the best hit. If I don't suck steadily I get a dry hit or bad taste. But... That is the deal everyone says on this atty's, there is a learning curve, but once you get it down, it really is good.

I made a mistake and ordered the short barrel... Next time I would order the long barrel for sure!!

My brother took advantage of the arctic weather we just got hit with. He built an ice rink on his property. He is a hockey player. Hopefully it will stay frozen for awhile. Knowing Colorado, it will probably be in the 70's next week. lol Looks like I might some ice time in during the holiday! This was his first attempt ever building a rink.

You have no idea how much I would just love to sit around and do nothing, and sometimes I just feel so tired, but that Marine Corps in me from nearly 25 years ago won't allow me to relax too much. But at least now after years of training and older age, I've learned to listen to my body a bit more and take time off to let the aging body....well just age a little.

While I'm not a professional athlete, my job does require me to maintain a very high level of fitness. Smoking did hamper my fitness level and I found that I was always out of breath or if coming back into a physical regime after a couple months break I would notice that it took me nearly twice as long to get back into cardio shape.

For the first couple of months although my body was felt physically good my lung capacity just wasn't there. It took me about 4-5 months to really feel good again. I can honestly now say that I can maintain my heart rate at 160-180 beats per minute for about an hour and a half with a short recovery period.

So for me vaping has helped out tremendously. Yes I will still get a burn in my lungs, but I think thats just because I push myself hard.

I"m a washed up typical 40's jock/athlete.. I ran cross country and track all through high school. I did a lot a distance running; so I believe I have a good grasp of the true meaning after going from running 60-70 miles a week when in HS to a pack a day smoker for 25 years. My lung capicty has changed a signifigant amount in the 5-6 months i"ve been vaping. So I do believe vaping has been a very good alternative for me.... Please keep in mind that I have tried quiting cold turkey lasted 3 years; been on chantix 3 times..yaddda, yadda..yaddaa..

Let me state the obvious by saying I think that vaping is by far the best alternative.

Former Athlete turned "old fat guy"now lol. I can tell you though, as a scout leader that is an avid outdoorsman-hiker-camper-boater etc.. the last almost 8 months have made a drastic difference in my cardiovascular stamina. I have done the same hikes now 3 years in a row and BY FAR this year was the most enjoyable. There is no doubt my lungs, heart, and overall health is exponentially better since switching from analogs to vaping.

Sweatervest13 got a reaction from guht in Closest to hookah experience?
There are some companies out there that make e-hookah juice. When I first started out vaping (not too long ago), I was on a search for e-juice that I could buy locally, so I would stop by local smoke shops. One that I found was a hookah shop, I went in and they had some electronic hookah's and e-hookah juice along with some stick batteries (like the ego-C you tried). I bought a couple small bottles to try. The flavor was very bold and rich, and pretty darn smooth if you ask me. To be honest it was a bit too much for me, so I would mix that juice with some tobacco flavors to cut it a bit. The name on the bottle was Blak e-hookah juice. But I tried to google them and did not find a match. I think it is a small company just getting started.

So yes, they do make some out there, but it may be hard to find. As a side note, I went back and tried the flavor again after about a month of not vaping it at all, way too flowery tasting for me.

I get the same attitude from the vape shop closest to my house. Every since they figured out that I know a little more then their usual customers due to Vapor Talk education and the fact that I purchase most of my stuff online they act like they don't like me very much. They want to take away our choice to buy online if we want to. They want all online buying shut down so we would be forced to buy from them. That's why I do not frequent their establishment.

Unless she is the one in charge of ordering, then I would have to chalk it up to ignorance. Just giving the benefit of doubt. But, I must say I have seen a few web sites that try and pass off clones as the real deal. This when you knowing what you looking at goes a long way in getting what you want and getting duped. What is real bad is when a web site posts photos of the real deal and then send you a clone. Fast Tech is one place guilty of that. Look at the Chi You for example. They show a pic of the real ma-coy. when in fact is it a clone. They do though tell you it is a clone.

It seems as though clones or knockoffs are super common in the vaping world.

My first starter kit I ordered was supposed to be eGo Twists, but I was shipped out Vision Spinners ( I know not that big of a deal, but I just read on this forum last week that eGo battery's are better than Vision). So, now I feel a bit ripped off.

If a vendor represents a product as a knockoff or clone, I am completely fine with that. Representing it as the real McCoy and selling for full price is not only, not cool, but should be illegal. But so far it seems like this industry is kind of like the Wild West. Anything goes.

Personally, I see no need to get an RDA or RBA for it as my KPT2 is amazing with the K100. If you want, you can get whatever, but I'm enjoying it just as is without a kick or anything else.

Sweatervest13 got a reaction from Jeffb in B&M store
I think a lot comes down to convenience... In your example, you bought 4 KPT's and knew that you needed 4 KPT's, so you shopped for the best deal. When I bought my first KPT2, I bought it from a B&M store. I knew I was paying a little more for it, but I could see what it came with, and the rep showed me how it worked and the difference between the mini version. I was able to take it home right then and there... To me it was a plus experience (and for that I was willing to pay the mark up charges). Now if I were going to buy 4 more, I would not go back to the B&M store, I would research to find the best price.

A lot of current and former smokers are use to buying a pack or two at a time from their local gas station/convenience store. I did not know many who would calculate how many packs they go through in a year and then purchase a years supply to drive the cost per unit down. Heck, I don't know many smokers who buy cartons. I know that I never liked it... To me it was committing to staying smoking for the at least the length of time it would take me to finish a carton. I did not like that. I would have rather paid more per pack and not have a huge commitment.

B&M stores are needed (and I would love there to be a lot more), and I have no problem with their costs being slightly more (I do not like the ones that mark up way too much). But I don't look at them as being apples to apples comparison to online vendors, I feel that both are needed and can coexist. If the government bans online e-juice sales, B&M stores are going to be very busy.

An almost 10 minute story on NPR. It seems pretty impartial, giving a balanced view.

    http://www.npr.org/2013/10/21/239269426/e-cigarettes-a-nearly-2bn-industry-a-regulatory-wild-west

I hope I am not in trouble for posting a link. Mods, feel free to remove it if it is a no no.

The story talks about the dual users, smokers who will vape indoors and smoke everywhere else. IMHO I feel that it will be a low percentage of the population of vapers. For me, I went to vaping to get away from analogs. I liked that I could do both for a couple of days until I felt comfortable moving all the way to vaping. And to tell you the truth, I probably had more analogs then I really wanted to just to finish the pack. I would have one burning in the ashtray while I was taking a toot on my PV, not even thinking about it. I realize that ecigs can not be sold as a smoking cessation product, but I hope that changes in the future. Because for me it was the tool I needed to get me over the hump.

I love the part at the end where the guy says that all of the PV's make you look uncool. That struck a positive cord for me... I'm not doing it to look cool... I'm doing it so I don't smoke!!!! That is the message that should be put out there.

    Hey there Smokemare!!

Welcome to the boards. I am brand spanking new here as well. I am just starting to quit and just getting into using a e-cig vaporizer.

Congrats on quitting, and congrats on your first born son (I take it this is your first child boy or girl? LOL). How long did it take you to quit analogs after taking up vaping?? What equipment are you using?? Any challenges you have come across yet?? Whats your favorite flavor of juice??

I have been a smoker for like 18 years. I have had limited success quiting (nicotine patch) in the past, but always picked it back up in social situations. I feel that vaping will give me the tools to stay quit this time. Sounds like it has worked well for you already. Congrats man!!! Keep it up.

    Hi all,

I am still very new to all of this. But loving this so far.

I just picked up a Kanger Pro Tank II. Pretty excited. I had read that glass tanks are the way to go for best flavor and no leaching.

I found a LVS (local vape shop) close to my work. I probably paid a few extra bucks but did not have to wait for it to ship. So I'm okay with that. They had a pretty good selection of juice. All made in the USA.

Another option for batteries is a passthrough. I have two joyetech ego-c upgrades that I can still use while charging. They are variable voltage but not quite as nice as the visions. I think its 3.3 volts on low and 4.15 volts on high with a full charge.
