Just an observation and of personal experience. There is a whole lotta people in this country and the world who are hurting this year and I'm no exception. It blows my mind to look at my own fb page and see all the happy photos, motorcycles, guitars etc., you might think I'm loaded and very well off. Well I am well off, I have my health(sometimes when I'm not insane) my daughters are doing well in school and I have lots of great friends but that doesn't mean I'm not struggling. I got very behind on my mortgage, crashed my truck last year, my girlfriend's car had no heat all winter and when I did have work it was outside in a unusually cold New England winter. Gotta tighten the belt even more but I'll always look to the bright side, at least I have a job. My new work truck broke yesterday and I'm back to only having a motorcycle and we might get more snow this week, ugh. My Dad passed last November from a fast acting cancer and the ex-wife is still a ******* fruit loop. All this stress has made me stronger and I never went back to analogs. --Just thought I'd share, I'm sure many of you are experiencing tough times also. Don't give up, it gets better. ---Peace

I chose this method to keep my "junk" out of sight. This is how I had it before. I was a little easier to find what I was looking for but I don't get to DIY very often so it was becoming an eyesore.

I have to agree with CASEACE. These rip-off artists have gone too far. That just isn't right. It's one thing to try to make your own version of a popular juice but to steal the ideas and identity of the original creator is the actions of a thief. What else would they do for a buck? Maybe they would steal a little from everyone who orders from them. I wouldn't deal with them either.

The shelf life of PG or VG is not much more than a year when kept in a dark closet. Your better off getting your base in a size that you will be able to use up in 6 months or less. To give you an idea, I order a 120ml of PG with nic and that lasts me 3 months. I have a 20 fl. oz. bottle of VG that is will last me several months also. A gallon of anything is way to much unless you are a supplier and plan on making a whole lot of e-liquid. Even a liter of base should last you over a year but I would recommend that you get a smaller amount. I don't believe that nicotine base will ever be unattainable.

@ Sonja: Cartos need to be wet inside. If they go dry and you continue to use them it could develop a burnt taste that won't go away even after you fill them again. Keep them topped off or stop vaping them if they might be going dry to avoid this. I don't think the position of them makes much difference in a carto. In a clearo it is helpful to tip them when they get low on juice.

@ icrarussound and Sonja: Not all cartos are made equally either. Some may be much lower in resistance than is marked or just plain defective.

So, there i was at my local smoke shop picking up a few ce4's, an extra eGo batt, and some juice when i see a little Blu ecig stand. Now, i've always been at least somewhat interested in Blu. I know that the batts are insanely low mah, the cartomizers are overpriced, etc.....However, they are doing what no other ecig is, pushing electronic cigarettes into the eye of the consumer. Tv commercials, magazines, billboards, etc.

I won't lie that when i go out to a bar or something it's always been kind of awkward asking if i can use my ecig there, they always say no problem and then i pull out an eGo with a tank on it and, lol well obviously eGo's are not what the majority of people think of when they think ecigs. They're thinking a cigalike.

Well, the one thing that's kept me from ever picking up a Blu kit is their kits have always been like 60-70 dollars for two stick batts and a few carto's. Sorry but not gonna happen. Well, on this stand they were marked at $35. So that paired with the desire to carry something halfway normal around with me when i'm out led me to walk out with a Blu kit. Here's what i've observed so far.

    The kit:
2 batts- assuming the 90mah version (very small)
blu pak charger- holds 3 carto's, charges one batt and holds the spare
    5 carto's-vanilla, 2 tobacco, menthol, and cherry
    car usb adaptor

First impression, simply-impressed. The packaging is by far the most professional packaging of any e cigarette i've ever seen. Very sleek and clean. Batteries and charge case all came charged. I'm a pretty mild vaper, only a few ml's a day. So, the small battery size won't be a problem for me for a night out on the town. They last me at my vape pace, probably 2-2 1/2 hours of use. And since the case is a charger if i decide to shut the bar down i'll still be ok .

Flavors, i believe Blu still uses Johnson Creek for all their juices which is nice since they're an American supplier. So far i've tried Vanilla (my favorite so far), it's not a bad flavor. Nothing to write home about but i could easily vape this all night with my favorite beer in hand. Cherry, nothing good to say about it. Tastes like *** to be completely honest. I'll update after i've tried the menthol (i'm not a big menthol fan for the most part), and the tobacco.

Vapor production. Surprising out of such a small ecig. I hit the cutoff timer every drag, but the vapor is worth it. Pretty decent clouds. Throat hit, honestly this little guy packs quite a punch. Not sure of the nic content in these (didn't pay attention before i threw the box out) but there's a solid th there.

All in all, i consider it $35 well spent. I know the cartomizers are like $15 for a 5 pack which sucks, but, considering i'll basically only be using it on the weekend nights, i don't think it'll be that expensive to keep up with.

    Thanks for reading

    French Pipe

3% - 7% French Pipe flavor imported from China(RTS Vapes) ---Let me know if anyone else has this DIY flavoring, I haven't seen it anywhere else.
93% - 97% Unflavored base of your choice

It all depends on how strong a flavor you like and I like it kind of strong so I go about 6%
I've been going back to this flavor time and time again for over 3 years and it remains to be my fav tobacco flavor, it needs nothing else to compliment it.

Question 1. Yes, you can use different types of flavoring but not all are going to give good results. Most of the flavorings I use contain artificial and/or natural flavors, PG and not much else but sometimes contain small amounts of water, alcohol, and so on. There are some ingredients that are un-friendly to attys and cartos but I can't give you a complete list off the top of my head; for instance you shouldn't use any anything that contains sugar or honey. Most of the flavorings I use (Lorann's, FlavourArt, Cappellas, FlavorWest, Perfumers Apprentic, CK products, Tasty Puffs) are fairly strong and sometimes very strong and it depends on the flavor. A very strong flavor might only need 2%-5% in the final mix but most fall into 15%-20% range. If a flavor requires more than 25% to flavor a DIY recipe it probably is diluted to the point where it is no good for vaping.

Question 2. There are flavors that add sweetness without changing the original flavor much or sometimes enhance it. Cotton candy and Marshmallow are 2 examples. Ethol Maltol(EM) is the ingredient in cotton candy and it is what a lot of us use. I've also used suclarose. I know to use these in small amounts because too much will ruin a recipe. VG may add a bit of sweetness along with more vapor, this is why I like to use some in all my juice but I prefer mostly PG.

Question 3. You can get a better TH by using a bit of menthol flavoring. As for extracting your own nicotine, well that sounds like tricky business and I don't think it can be done safely without proper testing equipment and knowledge. I've extracted a tea and tobacco flavoring by heating leaves in PG but I wasn't trying to extract nicotine and I don't think that I got much if any out but I was able to get a diluted flavoring that was usable.

A husband, tired of his wife asking him how she looks, buys her a full-length mirror. This does little to help, as now she just stands in front of the mirror, looking at herself, asking him how she looks.

One day, fresh out of the shower, she is yet again in front of the mirror, now complaining that her breasts are too small. Uncharacteristically, the husband comes up with a suggestion. “If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds.”

Willing to try anything, the wife fetches a piece of toilet paper, and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts. “How long will this take?” she asks. “They’ll grow larger over a period of years,” he replies.
    ...
The wife stops. “Why do you think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts everyday will make my breasts grow over the years?” she asks.

The husband shrugs, “Why not, it worked for your ass, didn’t it?”

I didn't know Capella had a peanut butter flavor, I'll have to try that. I found that Signature has the most realistic flavor. I think it is made by Perfumers Aprentice, not 100%. sure. I just ran out and I'm getting by with a Blue Mist peanut butter cup flavor with a touch of Lorranne peanut butter. Word Up ecig has a real good peanut butter juice and so does Mrs. T's. They are very different from each other but both very good. I wonder what they use....

Hey there new guy. It is quite unanimous around here that vaping is much less harmful to a person's health and by not lighting up we all seem to benefit in many ways like getting rid of that smokers' cough, being able to taste food in a better way, not smelling like an ashtray, etc., the list the list goes on. What I like the best is not having to spend $100/week on cigs. E-cigs and accessories can be expensive too but I've saved thousands by not buying butts. That's what kept me going when I decided to quit(after vaping for a few months). I just told myself that I wouldn't spend more on e-cigs in a week or a month than I would on cigs... and I never did. Now I feel better than ever AND I gots mo money. Everybody is different and that's my story, Welcome to Vapor Talk.

I've added different crust type flavors to some of my bakery recipes by simply adding a little bit of graham cracker flavoring and also I have a flavor called pie crust which also does the job pretty well. You may have to use your imagination and a lot of trial and error(small batches) to create what you are going after. Sometimes a flavor or combo of will take on a taste that you don't expect and sometimes you get lucky and come up with something great(tell us when this happens!) I don't have the perfect answer to your question but I know the flavor you are describing. Not sure which flavors will take you there but if you keep trying different things you'll probably hit on it sooner or later. It might take a nut flavor, molasses, bread, danish or who knows what. I'm thinking that the flavor(s) needed to get that crunch taste on top of your other recipes will be considerably less % so that it doesn't drown out the main dish.

Don't let these bozos confuse you, Grant...everyone here is too nice and helpful, LOL!!! :p The world of e-cigs can sometimes be really confusing even to the veterans. There are hundreds of vendors selling thousands of products, with more being released, tested, and reviewed daily. Knowing which one to go with is never a "for-sure" thing....no matter what the Provari fanboys on that "other" forum will try to have you believe. The best advice I could give you at this point is to not put too much pressure on yourself. You've already taken the first step towards a cleaner, healthier lifestyle by having the desire to make the switch. So, be patient and take some time to do some research, and ask questions before jumping headlong into anything. In time, all this foreign terminology you're now encountering will make perfect sense. May I suggest that before you do anything else, get on YouTube, and look up Pbusardo. His channel is jam packed with product reviews and tutorials. However, the one video of his I'd recommend as "Required Viewing" would be his "Beginners Guide to E-Cigs" that he did at the beginning of this year. That video alone should clear up a lot of confusion you may be having at this point. Welcome to the forum, and the world of Vaping!!!
