I just love "Battle Los Angeles". It will be a definite favorite. Of course, I love just about anything sci fi, but "Battle Los Angeles" is in a class all its own.

I posted this on another thread, but I felt it needed its own topic. It's been 2 months that I've quit analogs and now that I've gotten the nicotine dosage correct, I still feel like I'm withdrawing. I know it's not the nicotine, and someone referred to there being other chemicals with addictive qualities in cigarettes, perhaps even different ones in different brands. I did some research couldn't find much on it other than a thread on another site talking about it and how, due to these other addictive chemicals, there are setbacks after 2 months, 4 months, 9 months, 1 and a half years, and 10 years. Apparently, it was on some news program years ago. There's so little information, it's frustrating.

Has anyone ever heard of this or experienced extended withdrawals after having quit? Of course, the nicotine is the most addictive, and with e-cigs that pretty much takes care of that. Did anyone feel like they were withdrawing even after they began e-cigs?

I usually try eliquid out by dripping on a Joye 306 or 510 atty, they will fit 510 and Ego threaded devices, are very tolerant of flavor changes and you don't ruin a tank or carto with nasty liquid.A lot of us just drip around the house for better flavor and use tanks or carto's out and about for ease of use.

One more note of encouragement here. I can't add anything to the wonderful advice that's already been given here, but I will say that it does get better - every day. I was a smoker for 34 years, too. As of six days ago, I've been smoke free for 3 years - thanks to vaping and the Vapor Talk family.

Took until my 3rd week to finally get past the loopiness, everyone is different, but for me my chest already quit hurting, I sleep soo well now being able to breath.
when I smoked a cig i I smoked the whole d*mn thing, no sitting in the ashtrays for me almost 2 pks a day for over 30 years and not being able to stop was killing me fast, literally.

for those times i seem a little edgy I up the nic level, i found changing the flavor helps as well. In the beginning what I thought I would like turned out to not do the job like I thought it would and now im still w bacco flavors but nothing like a marlboro light or parliament like I originally wanted.

then you need to factor in the equipment your using it may beat the urge but not satisfing the craving to just smoke a cig. there too once I found something to give me a choker hit i slowed way down (after gagging for 5 min lol) and had alot less urge to feel the real smoke, the feel of the hit is one of the most important parts of all this.

then theres the worst part, some of your physical symptoms are your mind playing tricks on you, trying to get that cig back between your fingers, why?
You said you smoked over 30 years, as I, I couldnt figure it out, the nic was under control, the feeling of smoking was there, but why did I start to get edgy at work or after a good meal and still want a real one?

Becuase its not just a mindless addiction, or chemical attachment, iits a part of you, what you do, who you are
it defined you, good times, bad times, breakups, new job, new house, parties, depression, sadness and triumph. that cigarette was always there, the friend who never judged, never faltered, never changed, and we made sure we went out of our way to get another.
now your simple trying to tell your brain and body "cant touch that anymore", and your gonna get cranky, hell most people cant throw away a pair of worn out jeans if they still feel good, why should we expect something we have done for 30 years to be any easier.
it can keep the addiction in check but some people have to mentally adjust to the fact that its working but its not completely the same thing.

i cant suggest anything for your health as i dont know the general condition your in. but drink lots of water(very important), rest if you feel you need it, and try to take a walk or something active to get you breathing again.

I found some juices, no matter what it says on the label just dont get it done like something the same strength from someone else does (different grades/quality of nic maybe? anyone?).

maybe change the equipment up a little, like stated that feeling/taste of the hit helps sooooo much.

good luck and dont give in without a fight. It's tough, you feel crappy at times but everyone is telling the truth, you WILL start to feel better, and dont feel guilty if you slip in a real smoke once in a while, not everyone does a complete switch at once, at first I didnt I smoked 2 or 3 a day then week 2-3 I couldnt stand the taste of real smokes anymore and went nuts with the vaping. 5 weeks in I still think about cigs but cant find any reason to go get one.

for me 5 weeks= 70 packs of cigs=$525 not spent on killing myself.

We have all been there to one degree or another. I felt like my head was stuffed with clouds for about 2 weeks, week 3 still a bit tired, but getting better.
For me, at least vaping took away the pacifier effect of smoking and curbed quite a bit of the craving....what was left was all the other crap leaving my system.
Honestly, I never thought I would quit smoking pack and 1/2 for 30 years....If I can do it, anybody can do it....and I really, really have very little willpower !

YES! It does get better. It gets so much better. There are many addictive chemicals in cigarettes other than nicotine--harmful, dangerous, insipid chemicals the cigarette companies don't talk about. Your body is flushing it out. But, in about a week or so, you'll notice that you can finally breathe, you'll have more energy, any coughing will cease, you'll no longer feel congested in the mornings, you'll sleep better.. and not long after that, you'll start to taste things.. even bread (if you eat bread) will begin to taste delicious. You can do this. And you are not alone.

You'll find, at least at first, that you will be vaping more than you smoked. This is natural. What nicotine strength are you vaping? And how much did you smoke before?

I've been yelled at for rolling the window down. "What are you doing??!! We love the smell of that flavor, roll it back up PLEASE!!!
and there are other flavors where they roll the window down to get extra air.
I always crack the window, out of habit, and let them dictate whether or not to roll it down more or to close it.
I don't mind letting them choose for me.
They choose my vaping over my smoking... and sometimes the choose my vaping over my not vaping. Gotta love it.

Ive only been to one restaurant this year and rhat was clear back in January when I went to visit my bro in the hospital. But I can honestly say that I had 100 percent blessing from them when I asked for a private table where I could stealth vape. They were totally cool. I used my Volt.

This month I've stealth vaped at the hospital with my purple Reo while visiting my hubby all day. I didnt ask and I didnt get caught but I also never exhaled. Sweet short inhales and hold. I love my portable juice box!!

I,ve stealth vaped in a store if in there for over an hour . Otherwize I wait til outside again. I vape while walking to a door ...getting my fix before touching foot inside.

If there are little kids.around.I refrain or will reach for a Volt with stealth cap on it so i teach them to chew on ink pens instead of pencils lol.

I thought it was fascinating, especially about the nicotine absorption of e-liquid as opposed to cigarettes and the amount of time it takes for nicotine to enter the bloodstream when vaping vs, smoking. I also thought it was interesting that the cardiologist and his world colleagues toted nicotine replacement products, such as the patch, as completely ineffectual--a veritable failure--and how the United States seems to be the few, if not the only, holdout as far as that is concerned. I'm glad I never went down that road. He also debunked the theory that e-cigarettes contain carcinogens. He was quite dismissive on that score. Goodness, there was so much information. I truly recommend you sit through every last minute.

actually what drains your battery is a low resistance cartomizer. whether it's dual or single coil or not has nothing to do with it. it's the total resistance that tells you whether or not your battery is going to work hard.

for example, a 1.5ohm single coil carto will drain your battery faster than a 1.7ohm dual coil carto.

and actually, dual coil's do not necessarily burn hotter than a single coil, here's how a dual coils resistance is figured.

if you have a 1.5ohm dual coil carto that means that you have two 3.0ohm coils running in parallel for a total resistance of 1.5ohms. 3.0ohm coils do not burn hot unless it's on a higher voltage device, but you can't really run 1.5ohms on a 5v battery (very effectively anyways), so at 3.7v (which is what a 1.5ohm carto should run at) the vapor from a dual coil 1.5ohm carto is really just like sucking in the vapor from 2 3.0ohm coils which is not hot at all.

the advantage of dual coils is not that they produce warm vapor, it's that because they have more "coil surface" they produce more vapor.

if you want lots of vapor on a low voltage device use a dual coil carto.
if you want warm vapor (and a decent amount of vapor) on a low voltage device, use a single coil carto with low resistance.

hope that clears it up for ya.

Discretion. I try to not impose upon people--it's just one of my things. If I truly must, I try to be as discrete as possible. After all, it's not their fault I'm addicted to nicotine, and I do realize that there is a minuscule amount of nicotine in the air after an exhale. I know it's not dangerous, but I try to be polite. Plus, I know that Vaping is on sensitive ground. I hope that, in time, people will become less ignorant to the life-saving aspect of vaping as compared to cigarettes. Do I wish I could vape openly at my desk? Of course I do. But, it's probably something that should never happen.

Hey matt, Just pick up a lr306 atty and put that on your eGo battery. Some sites will sell these with the drip tip included, you will need this. Just drip and vape. Tons of vapor and flavor, just like high volt vaping, even better imo. Another Idea is to get the twist c variable volt battery. You can set it at 4.8 volts and a standard carto or atty will hit similar to the lr306 I was talking about. I have to use the lr306 on a standard battery or at the lowest setting on the twist c because it's perfect right there and higher is too much. BTW, I think the Visions kinda suck. They need a better juice feed system and a better coil imo. I haven't had much luck with them at any setting.
