Adversarious1 got a reaction from Nickvaper in The Templar AIO by Vapor Talk - First Impression
I just received a Templar AIO kit by Vapor Talk in the mail yesterday.  Since setting it up I have been vaping on it exclusively.  Here are my first impressions.
Packaging: Very nice box art.  It is definitely representative of the Vapor Talk brand.  If I hadn’t already seen photos of the device I would have been tearing into the box in anticipation of checking out the contents.  Instead, I tore into the box in anticipation of actually getting my hands on what was inside.
The contents:  It’s no frills.  You get the mod, 2 coils, the standard USB charging cable and a manual that is easier to understand than most I have seen.
The mod: Very simple to set up and operate.  The hinged cover for the charging port (located on the bottom of the device) easily swings out of the way and has a magnet to keep it in place when the cover is in the ‘closed’ position.  The top comes off easily, even with the child proof design.  I had no trouble screwing a coil on and filling the reservoir/tank couldn’t have been simpler.  The appearance is sleek, fits well in my hand and appears to be constructed well.
There do appear to be a couple of minor differences and/or omissions between the manual and the device.  The manual says the charging light will flash 4 times to indicate a successful connection.  I connected the device to 6 different ports with two different charging cables and each time I got a solid red light.  This was after the initial “charging” because the fact the light didn’t flash 4 times was actually brought to my attention after the fact.  The device also must have been mostly charged because the charging light went from red to green in a matter of minutes.
The other omission I noticed from the manual is the battery mAh rating.  It isn’t listed in the manual but is listed on the VT website – 1000 mAh.
Operation: Charge it, 5 clicks to turn on, press the fire button, inhale and enjoy.  It doesn’t get much simpler than that.
Experience: Overall it will serve as a very capable backup for me.  I have been using it exclusively for close to 24 hours as of this writing and other than the fact that I might need to step up the nicotine it has served its purpose.  I normally vape 3mg between .1 and .2 ohms, so going to .5 ohm just isn’t giving me the same “hit” I’m used to.
I have done everything from short 1-2 second drags to longer 8-10 second drags.  Casual hits every few minutes to chain vaping.  The tank does get warm when chain vaping.
I will admit that I was actually hoping it would serve as a nice little stealth vaping device, but with .5 ohm coils and the way I do DTL hits, that just isn’t going to happen for me.  It might be a little stealthier if I up my PG, as the juice I have in it right now is a 10/90 PG/VG ratio, but even if I switch to a 50/50 or even a 60/40 I think I’m going to be producing quite a bit of vapor simply based on the way I vape.
The airflow does not appear to be adjustable.  That’s fine and doesn’t take away from the operation of the device; it’s just tighter than my personal preference.
Appears to vaporize the liquid and utilize the battery very efficiently.  I am still on the original 2ml of liquid I put in the tank, though I’m definitely getting toward the bottom end of that.  By comparison, I would have easily gone through 6-9ml of liquid with one of my normal setups with the amount of vaping I have done and I would have easily drained 2 2500 mAh batteries, though I have no idea how close to drained the battery is.  At 1000 mAh I would have though I'd have had to charge it a couple of times by now, but I'm still on the original charge.

That would be great, I'd definitely order some of that from time to time if you get it in.  Yeah I've noticed that trend too.  I get that a lot of people are vaping nic in that range, but it makes it hard on the folks just starting out that need a bigger Nic dose (aka 12 to 24+ range).   Hell, one guy I know started off at 48 mg, but that dude was puffing down like 3 packs of analogs a day.  Then his wife came down with heart issues, and that finally made him realize that he needed to start making smarter choices for himself.  Fortunately she recovered, he's still puffing away on his Smok GX350.  Was def excited for him when he finally made the switch.  Anyway, here I am derailing topics myself, carry on as you were.

ROFLMAO!  That's hilarious!  And absolutely appropriate cravings considering the content!
I will admit tho, that seeing someone blowing a cloud from a mod did increase my desire to want to take a hit.  Anything else either made me hungry or disgusted (cheapy cig-alikes), or didn't do much of anything at all for me.

I'm taking the survey now.  Funny thing about all the pictures...none of them has created an craving, urge, desire or need to vape, but some of them have caused a craving for red vines, created an urge to use a pencil to write this response by hand and an inexplicable desire to pick my nose.

It's research man, nothing inherently nefarious about research.   Research itself is a good thing. We can learn from it.  I took the survey, I'm sure they'll see a pattern in my responses.

Ok, well, it looks pretty.  but....  I went to wind it on a post and it is loose.  Real loose.
So, I did a second one.  Better...  Still ended up with a few mm of loose coil a the end after winding.
Up side, I put a build in a Goon @ 0.17Ω and @ 110 Watts it is producing well.
Improvements can be made with this process.  I will try again later.

Honestly, if you shop around, wire is cheap.  There's really no reason to go a year with a set of coils.  I'm probably in the minority when it comes to how frequently I change the coils in my RDA's - every time I change the wick.  But building coils is something I enjoy.  Sometimes I get a day, sometimes I get a week.  It depends on what type of juice I'm vaping and it depends on whether I'm testing multiple flavors when it comes down to how frequently I make the decision to change the coils.

Adversarious1 reacted to Tam in Time Flies... 5 year vaperversary
Even after year of trying everything that was available, I was never able to stop smoking. One day, five years ago, I saw a co-worker outside sucking on what looked like a pen (eGo T 650 mAh) and exhaling plumes of what looked like smoke but smelled so much better. I stopped and starting asking questions. That night after work I stopped by the B&M and bought myself my first vape gear: an eGo-T 650 mAh battery, two CE4 tanks with 1.5 ohm coils with a 5-pack back up, an AC adapter, a charging cable, and three bottles of juice.
Back then, it cost a total of $165.00
A few days later I went back and discovered that eGo had a new battery out -- a 650 passthrough! And Kanger put out a new tank -- a T2 with top coils/short wick.
I started vaping and collecting more back ups, more juices, never really looking back. The six packs of smokes I had in the fridge remained there for another two years until I finally threw them away. The first six months or so, I'd tempt fate and would light up just to see if I still liked it or not.
    The answer would be... not.
Haven't looked back since. Around the first six month mark, I was playing on the internet and discovered a different vape forum. It was too big, the people weren't very patient with "noobs", nor were they very kind or friendly so I continued looking around.
Hey! Check out this new place I found! It's called Vapor Talk. The people were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and I felt welcomed here. It's where I call 'home' now. The people are wonderful, they are all about helping new vapers with their questions no matter how many times they answer the same thing. They enjoy derailing threads, but that only makes the conversation more interesting and the subject comes back around... eventually. Yes, we do periodically get some bad apples here, but it's rare and they usually get tired of our slower pace and go away. The good ones stay. Eventually, I was asked to become an admin here, and it was a scary thing, and I'm still learning.
This long-winded thing is my way of saying a BIG THANK YOU! to @Christopher for starting this forum, to my fellow admins and mods, and to all the wonderful members here (both old and new), who make the forum a place to hang my hat. These days, after all this time, I no longer have any doubts that I'll ever go back to smoking. Vaper Talk has played a huge part in helping with this. Happy 5-year vaperversary to me!

I've been vaping a number of years and found my chest x-ray was clear taken a few days ago.. in fact my VA doctor said my lungs were in excellent condition.. proof positive that vaping is a healthy choice and won't hurt me... I was stoked as I have COPD:-)

Someone on Reddit just told me that I have been using my CE4s clearos way too long and the discoloration I found is likely "burnt silica".
    *headdesk*
I can absolutely confirm that I've been using them too long. I didn't realize. Just been putting up with the slightly off flavor until it gets so burnt tasting I can't stand it.
This may stand as the dumbest thing I do in 2017. LOL

If memory serves me correctly, the Griffin has an adjustable pin.  Just use a screwdriver to back the pin out a bit.  Try a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn and put it on your mod.  If it fires, problem solved.  If it doesn't, back it out another 1/4 to 1/2 turn and try again.  If you get to the point where you have backed the pin out 1-2mm and it still isn't firing, then it is likely not the atty but an issue with the mod.

No, don't disassemble. Take the center pin of your atomizer and gently pull that out just a tiny bit. That might do the trick if you can't move your center pin of the mod.

Adversarious1 reacted to Walt in Is this a safe setup for dual coils using a regulated mod?
Ok,  I know nothing about the mod or the tank but you did a fine job using the wire calculator to end up with .3Ω.  That resistance is perfectly safe in anything I vape on.  The leg length is the length of the legs from the coil to the hold down post.  Usually less than 5mm but you will see if you change the leg length between 1mm and 5mm the difference in resistance in negligible.  Not to worry.  Set your mod power for the vape you like.  Start low, maybe 30 watts.  The vape will probably be week and lacking flavor.  Turn up the power a couple of watts and try again.  You will find  a sweet spot you like best.  When the power gets too high you will start loosing flavor and eventually get a harsh vape.  Using a .3Ω build you will have a large range of power that will produce reasonable vapor.
