I have been thinking about a crown.  They are getting pretty reasonable in price and the RBA looks nice.  I have a tvfv4 (standard).  I never could like it.  I tried, it just wasn't for me.   The mini looks interesting though.
I really like the looks of the Reuleaux,  I really don't like large mods.  I never carry my dual 18650 mods, and I am looking at a triple?  I want a DNA just for the "geek factor" of using the software to build curves.  The lipo versions are all boxy so I really like the look of Reuleaux, not to mention the watt/hours of 3 18650s is much better than the lipos that come in most factory DNA200 mods.
That is hard to do.  I got lucky and found 3 flavors I really liked.  Out of laziness I mixed all 3 and I liked it a little better.  I sent a samples to @Compenstine because I would rather support his business than the A-holes at my local store.  He sold me some Fruit Mash.  Mash was the small pieces left over from mixing fruit flavored juices.  It got popular, so Frutti Tutti was born.  He mixed 15 - 20 different flavors to make it.  It has been my ADV ever since.  I keep a dripper around and use a coffee flavor in it during the evening.

I personally like the Cthulhu V2, but I don't use it much any more since I switched to the NEBOX.  I also like the looks of the OBS Crius RTA.  I am really just a single coil guy, but I love the Velocity style posts and build deck of the Cthulhu V2 and the Crius, it is so much easier for me to build on.
I really prefer a tank that uses a factory coil in combination with a RBA, just in case.
Off topic, but are you enjoying the Reuleaux RX200?  I was holding out for the DNA200 version, but am seriously thinking about getting the RX200.  The SS temp control really looks intresting, and at $100 less than the DNA version, I may have to pick one up.

I have had a couple different Genie style tanks and did not like them. they do leak when on their side. and are a PITA to build. Once you get it built just right it works ok for quite a while. Most of the ones had had plastic tanks as well. and that became a minus for me. Air flow was also an issue. I found a rebuilt KPT head in a KPT 3 was a better performer.

I doubt it is getting dry.  I run most of my mods in the 40 watt range, but they normally level off at 20 or so when the TC starts working.  I am not familiar with the Reuleaux RX200 but in most of mine if it gets to the point that the screen changes, you may need to turn your power down a bit.  I have not used SS, but with Ni200 and Ti01 and .25ohm coil, 50 watts should be more than enough.  When a you have it set right, you will barely notice it is working.  You will have a bit of rattlsnaking as it trys to keep the temp steady.  It should provide a consistent vape from the time you fill the tank, until it is nearly empty.  It will then slowly get cooler and quit putting out vapor when it gets dry.

Those that blow themselves up are usually using inferior batteries, defective mechanicals, or running resistances (Ohms) far below the ratings of their battery.  These are things the media leave out... they just play the blame-game on those evil e-cigs... [shakes head]
Mechanicals are safe, as long as you know what you are doing and use good equipment, the right way... that being said, even a regulated mod can have issues... poor chipsets, batteries, or just stupidity by the operator...  This is why we always preach about battery safety and knowing what your device can and will do.
Don't let the media scare you... the media no longer reports the news or public-services... they are interested in ratings and awards, agenda pushing, and fear-mongering...

Yep, your settings are  ON or OFF, lol... the only true settings are in the resistance of your coil-builds, and if you go below 1.0 Ohms, you should be using a really really good battery.  Amp-ratings of your battery are very important, as well as an Ohm-meter, when working with a mechanical mod.

I do not envy the new vaper these days.  In only 2 1/2 years the market has gotten so much more complicated than when I started.   I like your advice Aufin. We grew up with the changes but someone new has dozens and dozens of options more than we had and a lot of those options require a bit of experience before taking advantage of them. It's a wonder these complications don't turn some people off of vaping.
Many of our "sticky" threads that contain definitions and descriptions of devices probably need a serious upgrade.
my advice is buy a simple kit - a basic ego battery and a refillable tank and a bunch of coils and get started.  You can find that kit right here at VT.  Then, take the time to visit a good brick and mortar store and have somebody friendly show you the options available.  You don't have to go complicated to get started.
The noobie should probably stay away from high watt, direct to lung, high airflow devices at first as these are way different than regular smoking and the noob is more likely to want something that simulates real smoking at first.  In fact many of us still use these simple devices for their simplicity.

Have you tried any other batteries? Sometimes after a while I have heard of metal shavings getting into certain areas in the mod, causing it to conduct heat or short out, it usually happens within the button mechanism. Try taking it apart and cleaning the button assembly. I could be totally wrong, but it's worth a shot.

A KTS I had for a bit had the same issue you are describing. I sold it to a guy who cleaned it really good and he said it works fine now, but who knows.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even organic has VG. There is Organic VG. True organic E-Liquid needs to tested and registered as organic. They may use All organic ingredients including the water use to thin it out. and yes that would make it "made with organic ingredients', but unless it is "certified organic" they can not legally make that claim. Just make sure that there "Certified Organic" and your good to go. I have seen some that make the claim and do not have it truly certified.

Well said, Christopher.  I can't argue with that at all.  The truth is,. I have no idea what I'm vaping.  I place a lot of trust in liquid manufacturers and i might be more forgiving of them just because I'm glad to be not smoking.  But ultimately without full disclosure and actual unbiased scientific testing (if there is such a thing) we don't know ****. And no group or country has any claim to know better than anyone else.  There are still a lot of unknowns.  My instincts tell me this is better than smoking but no free ride.  My taste buds tell me diacetyl is delicious, lol.  My heart rate, blood pressure and skin tone tell me I'm OK.
I trust there are more well meaning and competent people of any country, than there are bad guys.  After all, it's their families and friends addicted to smoking too.  It just bothers me - I find this kind of reporting irresponsible.  I don't really care if you want to publish how vaping contains formaldehyde, just make sure you publish right along side of that the conditions under which it's found.
If someone is going to run around screaming "Fire! Fire!", there had better be a freakin fire, is all I'm saying.

For the most part I agree that China vs US has little to nothing to do with studies like this. This not about us vs them in a geographic sense. This is a us vs them in a governmental agenda sense. It is not about multi million dollar clean rooms, or DIYers making juice in their home or B&M shops making it in a back room.  You can have the cleanest environment possible and still have an issue with some of these chems in the e-liquid. It is not introduced by the environment it is mixed in. it is introduced by the flavorings used 99.9% of the time. When it comes to Diethylene glycol it is introduced when manufactures try and cut corners to compete using low grade Propylene Glycol. The heavy metals come in from contaminated water (ie Tap Water), what it may be mixed in or even the coil that is used. This is all true be it Made in the USA or Made in China.
Having said that, This is about governments that are hell bent on destroying the vaping industry and have billions to back slanted studies to fit an agenda. This is about the bottom dollar and losses that occur from people switching to vape products that affect the bottom dollar of Governments, Big Tobacco, and Big Pharma. How many of these studies do testing or report results of the products put out by Big Tobacco ((Made in the USA)? Rarely do these type of tests name what products are tested and when they do, non are the Big Tobacco brands... hummmm...
Flavor manufacturers are stepping up to the plate and are giving test results of the flavorings they sell. This is giving the smaller e-liquid manufactures information about the chems that are in the flavorings sold. Responsible e-liquid manufactures need to know what they are putting into the end product. By having this information it makes it easier for the small companies to determine what is going into what they produce. These chems don't just magically appear in the product it has to come from somewhere. If the flavorings are clean of these chems, it will not be in the end product that is just fact.
IMO The real enemy here are the the agencies that continue to further the agenda of the ones that want to kill the vaping industry. An industry as a whole that potentially will save thousands if not millions of lives over the whole planet.

You know it really bothers me the whole "China bad, 'Merica good." I'm going to be devil's advocate here and say that not all US liquid makers are exempt here. If I recall correctly 5 Pawns had an issues with Diacetyl in their eliquid not to long ago. (And I recall some members on the forum avidly supporting their quality) This isn't a shot at 5 pawns, I'm sure they've corrected the issue by now, but the point is, we should take every study seriously and not simply dismiss it because it's "probably Chinese e liquid."
While there are some top notch US liquid makers, you're naive if you really think China goes out of there way to produce low quality liquid. Sure some manufacturers might, but not all. (The same can be said equally for here in the US) I've visited a number of local retailers across the country some of which carry some seriously shady e liquids. I've seen Dekang facility first hand for example and it's not some shoddy warehouse pumping out liquid it's a literally a multi million dollar state of the art facility. (They make some serious quarterly profits and they have the capital to invest)
Some US liquid makers are mixing in the rear of their retail store. While "of course we don't use Diacetyl" might be enough for some people, why do we extend so much trust and leeway to US manufactures? (or any manufacture for that matter) I remember talking to a vaper who was loyal to X brand of e liquid because it's "safer than that Chinese ****" and I asked him, have you ever requested a breakdown report? Do they have monograph reports up on their website? At the very least are they mixing in an ISO certified clean room? The guy didn't have an answer and neither do most vapers. They just jump on the US bandwagon and say I vape this because I know it's safer.
Thing is, back when us old timers started their was legitimate concern over Chinese e liquids. It was the only source for e liquid at one point and because of trade secrets, very little information about how this stuff was produced. These days most manufactures worth their salt have no issue posting lab reports online along with at least some kind of certification. There is an e-liquid manufacturer on the east coast that I'm currently under an NDA with but they perform testing on 3rd party e liquids. While some of them passed free and clear for Diacetyl they failed for heavy metal traces. Others passed heavy metal tests but were shown positive for trade amounts of Diacetyl or Diethylene glycol. It was eye opening to see some of the reports. I'd asked why they don't display these reports online and because they themselves produce eliquid have been advised against it for legal reasons. But I can tell you, not all US liquids are as "clean" as you might believe them to be. (Same goes for other countries as well)
Late last year I attended a conference with some of the top manufactures in China and do you know what it was about? Safety. It was ensuring their liquid was free of unnecessary additives as well as ensuring the purity of their liquids before shipping out across the world. They were also working with some well known testing facilities out of Europe prior to TPD rearing it's head. I'm not saying you should choose one country over another or that China has liquid superior to US manufactures, I'm simply saying that spouting off that US liquid is good, China is bad is a really lumping some good manufactures in with a couple of shady ones. It's really no different here in the states with some brands mixing this stuff in the basement of their own homes.
Whatever liquid you're vaping, you should go ahead and email your vendor and ask them for reports. I say hold every brand accountable. Ask if they have reports for Nicotine level verification, Diacetyl, Diethylene glycol, Ethylene glycol, heavy metals, HPHC analysis and see how many of them produce results. I'm not voting for a nanny state here, I'm simply saying that some of this liquid costs 20-30 bucks a bottle and if you ask me, someone damn well better be investing some of those high costs in ensuring we have safe, clean e liquid. otherwise what's the point of switching to vaping other than less of a smell. I also don't think you should simply be confident in the brand you're using because it was "made in the USA."

Pink Spot and BeKuali were my go to for a long time. I needed to change things up and I have been using EC Blends and Mt. Baker. Mostly various fruit flavors from Mt. Baker and some of the Tobacco style flavors from EC Blends. My eliquid journey is a bunch of squiggly lines traveling in all directions. I have no idea what I want. I am lost. But having a good time trying out different flavors every few weeks.

UPDATE: put new o-ring in the triforce, no more leaking! The juices I've got for the subvod seem harsh now I've got the triforce running properly. Lol got different juice for triforce with lower nicotine and it's a world of difference! So I think I'm too high on my nicotine levels all the way around now except for the latest bottle. As for backups I think I will build up to that, having the subvod and this mod is awesome, I've been carrying both around everywhere. Can anyone suggest another good tank? I was led to believe the triforce is close to top choice, I do like kanger products but I guess I have to find out what will thread onto my fuchai...  thanks again for all the info. Since the ol lady got her subvod yesterday she had only had 1 cigarette. Here's hoping it'll work for her like it has for me.

I cut the cotton down tho and vent is leaking a little, With the coils that come with the Kanger RBA I was getting a bad taste at times and just had a lot of problems. I think I need the use more cotton as the taste is real strong. Im thinking more cotton will cut down on the juice flowing in. Don't want to crank it up to much and have it in the danger zone. at 22 watts I'm at 5.4 volts.
I cut the watts down to 13 today as if I hit my mod a few times in a short period it started tasting funny, Like right on the verge of burning the wick. Its like a different taste with the RBA and making a wire coil. When set right its just a nice taste without being to strong. I might try a 5 wind at 30 mm and see what that does. I only stuck my fingers 3 times putting the wire in and bled. LOL Thanks for all the help.

Prime means to soak the wick/coil first before firing it. If you don't do that first, it's too late. If you burned that wick when it's dry it will never taste good no matter how long you wait. Time for a new coil and prime it first with a couple of drops of juice or, like Tam said, fill the tank and let it sit before firing it.
