Stickies are good... and I agree that some could use an update, and I like the Quick-Start Guide idea

Search is an underused tool (although I'm guilty of not digging too deep in the searches, too)...

And points #4 and #5 seem to be an issue lately, don't they (not just on the forum)? Noob's chasing huge clouds is not something new though... just like guys who drop $15K on a fancy, over-powered sport-bike (without learning how to ride first) with the sole purpose of popping wheelies and doing 'stoppies' because they look cool on youtube "SQUIDs", in the bike-world... And when one of them gets hurt doing something stupid... they give the rest of us a bad reputation...

And did you buy an ohm meter while you were there? I heard those are needed while rebuilding coils and what not....

Hmmm..... buy an ohm meter! You seem to have the general concept of building even if you did overlook the simplest and most important part of it. If your using 28g at 5 wraps, I don't necessarily think your resistance is your issue, unless of course you vented your battery and now your battery is toast, because you didn't have a ohm meter to check if the resistance on your coil was in a reasonable level for your particular battery to handle the amps. But hey at least you still have a hand so that's a plus! Check the center pin on your mech mod, some are adjustable and it may just be too low and isn't making contact with the center pin on your RDA's. Oh and in case it wasn't mentioned, buy an ohm meter, they are fairly cheap. Cheaper then replacing batteries or paying a hospital bill from losing your hand or something.

One thing I will add to this is lately it seems the aspire coils have been sub par quality. Also running at 9watts, although not bad, can decrease the life a little in comparison to using lower watts. But I would say you probably just had variance in coil quality mixed with different juices. I honestly wouldn't pay much mind to it. I use to try to calculate coil life all the time, but it can be maddening, there are too many variables.

I was just about to post this as well, glad someone else got on it. I did my part already, super quick and easy to do.... EVERYONE in one of these states should be doing this if you TRULY love vaping and aren't just here for the cloud chasing fad!

I don't know what a Ph.D. was doing seeing patients, but they certainly weren't wrong. You probably saw an MD (Medical Doctor) rather than a Ph.D. You did have gastroenteritis. What caused that gastroenteritis is anyone's guess. However, if you did not tell the doctor that you had been sucking on poison in recent days, they have no way of knowing that you have "nicotine poisoning." Still, you likely did not have nicotine poisoning because that condition is an acute condition in which the symptoms typically subside and the patient stabilize in ~4 hours. If you had nicotine poisoning, you would have been experiencing ataxia, tachycardia, hypertension, etc., all of which the worst medical doctor in Ethiopia would have caught.

People, when you go see a doctor, you are not just seeing that doctor so that s/he can assess your symptoms with some magical algorithm - you are seeking objectivity, experience and judgement. When you go to WebMD and start typing in symptoms, you are in no position to assess your condition properly. Get off of WebMD, go to iTunesU, and watch some biology lectures. An understanding of science should start there.
