    Newbie over here,

i have the Alien 220W and using the V8 Babybeast X4

    the coil says the following:

    0.15 ohm

    50-110W

    Best: 60-80W

when i turn on the device is shows .8V

    and 0.158ohms ?

is this normal/ok to use ? Or something is wrong

The coils are often not exactly as stated on the box (though they are usually very close). The device is showing you what voltage you are currently using, I suspect. Switch it to wattage mode instead and then you can set how you'd like.

With that said though, if it's work now and your happy with it, there is no "wrong" setting per say. Go to high and you'll pop the coil, go to low and it just won't work.

    Sweet!  Thanks!

The B&M only had one in a color I could "live with"... and I'd love to snag another one (maybe in the SE version?)... they will be perfect for travel, or when you don't want to carry your "expensive" devices around.

Also, I can't wait to see the VT pod-device version, too... I'm sure it will blow the Joyetech device out of the water...

Me too! I'll admit, we're having some issues with flavor but those should be corrected by the time it's launched. (Vapor production on the new device is solid, but IMO flavor is meh so we've been going back and forth a little on the pods).

At any rate, I'll make sure to carry a wide selection of colors. Anything particular? (In case I missed one)

  4. Actually I just happen to have some of those on order :) There is a trend right now towards pod system as PMTA loomes around the corner and companies start operating in Europe under TPD laws. Vapor Talk has it's own pod device that's being manufactured as we speak! (One of the reasons I was out in china a couple months back).

Once I have them in stock I'll come find this post and let yah know!

Read what I'd posted to you and it sounded funny. In September I'm going in to get a full knee replacement. To make it fun (and my weird sense of humor), I've decided to name my new knee "George". The rehab is for the physical rehab on the knee. LOL

I'll definitely get in touch with you two when I get out there.  :)

Yea I figured that was the case. I had to read it twice and thought, nah, Tam doesn't seem that high on the forum lol

Now we're even. I want an In N Out burger too... And to think I just got an alert that I could fly to LA for around $100 or so but I have to save my leave time for when I go get George in September. *pouts* After I get through rehab I'll have to make a point to get out your way.

Let Jeff and I know when you're here and we'll give hook yah up with the In and Out experience. :D

Is In N Out really that good? I've seen pictures and it looks absolutely decadent.  :yum:  And I'm not overweight, I consider it either under-tall or just fluffy.

i think so. Though 5 guys is a very close second. Five guys has better fries IMO

  9. Man, I'm so petty that last time I was at the doctors I noticed the chart on the wall that helps you figure out if you are overweight. I'd gone from 220 to 211 and I just barely made it to "overweight" from obese. I actually made them update it on their computer so my health portal's weight portion was now "overweight" lol My doctor was like "really..." Obese just sounds so horrible.

  10. Vapor Talk T Shirts are finally in stock (and moving!).

This Vapor Talk Short Sleeve T shirt is built from a hefty six-ounce 100% cotton jersey fabric for natural comfort. Durable double-needle tailoring distinguishes this solid shirt from your average “bargain” tee. For additional shape retention, the neck and shoulders are fully fabric taped.

The shirt is “classic” fit and doesn’t run tight.

    • Chest Size:
    • Small 34-36″
    • Medium 38-40″
    • Large 42-44″
    • Extra Large: 46-48″

  11. Generally speaking, the device doesn't matter as much as the wattage does and the type of coil you using. A basic start is to put the device into a low wattage setting, vape and then take it up from there until you find the "sweet"  spot that works for you. What liquid you are using will also have an effect on flavor. (higher VG blends can take higher heat levels while PG cannot)

  12. We were discussing in another topic about sleeping. I recall when I used to smoke how bad my snoring was, apparently. I'm told that these days, I still snore but to a far less extent than I used to. Probably about 90% better. That got me wondering how many of you sleep better since switching over to vaping.

I should note that I used to primarily be a PG user but switched to VG end of last year. My wife says I snore a little more since moving to VG but that could be chalked up to long work hours.

So do you sleep better now that you vape?

This is a real long shot.  I get that on occasion and it's sleep position.  Lack of blood flow because I have something "pinched off".  I have read about radical dream states as part of stinky withdrawal.

That had crossed my mind as well. I sometimes wake up with pins and needles in my arms but it's almost always attributed to sleeping on my arm. The proof is usually the giant mark left on my face lol And a good point about the dreams, I recall when I first stopped smoking I slept much heavier than previously. Many of us back then used to think the e liquid was causing dreams. What it's probably more likely is that our breathing was improving and we might finally have been getting better sleep and thus hitting a proper rem cycle. (I used to snore pretty bad too which has since become less of an issue these days).

I agree though, probably a long shot but at least worth mentioning.

  14. Though VG is caloric, I don't believe it's metabolized. Though, I do recall reading somewhere it had some minor effect on blood sugar. But it probably wouldn't hurt to try a high PG e liquid and see what happens. Finding higher PG blends these days can be tricky as almost every major manufacturer uses a high VG mix.

But, I'd be happy to send out a sample pack of Vapor Talk's classic line. It's 80 PG. (It needs to be vaped at a lower wattage as it's not meant for high wattage devices). Might be worth a shot. Though, it goes without saying, you should talk to your doctor etc.

  15. Judge upholds that FDA can regulate e-cigarettes

A federal district judge in Washington Friday upheld the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to regulate electronic cigarettes and cigars like conventional cigarettes.

In a 93-page decision, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson rejected arguments by Nicopure Labs, LLC, a Florida manufacturer of liquids used in e-cigarettes, and the Right to be Smoke-Free Coalition, which includes the American Vaping Association, e-cigarette companies and state trade groups.

They had contended that the FDA, in deciding to regulate e-cigarettes and related products, exceeded its authority and violated the Administrative Procedure Act. But Jackson concluded that “the agency acted within the scope of its statutory authority.”

Under the FDA rule, she noted, “manufacturers of e-cigarettes are now required to tell the 30 million people who use the devices what is actually in the liquid being vaporized and inhaled.”

The fight over what’s known as the FDA “deeming rule” is far from over. Another half-dozen lawsuits are pending.
