  1. I just order the Cola and the Risky (caramel) and I am very excited to try them. I will order the Chocolate next. Hmm' date=' I am thinking this could very well be useful if I get a craving for chocolate I can take a vape and satisfy my nicotine craving and chocolate craving in one hit. Could this thing end up as a dieting aid too?!?! yeehaw!![/quote']

Ha ha who knows it just might! The Cola is great. So good in fact that I can't stand the tobacco flavor anymore. As for the Caramel I should be getting mine some time today (along with more Cola as well) so I'll let you know how it tastes. From what I hear though it's great.

I thought about getting the Chocolate but wasn't sure, post back and let us know how it tastes I'm curious. icon_e_biggrin.gif

  2. So I had an issue with my battery not to long ago in which I would take a hit on my E Smoke and the light would go dim or flicker before I finished taking a drag. I thought my batteries was going bad but turns out there was a way to fix it that may work for everyone else.

If you have issues with your battery follow these steps

    1. Unscrew the battery from the atomizer

    2. Blow and Suck (easy kids) on the battery FROM THE L.E.D. side. Do this about 3 times,

    3. Then again smoke from the other side as if you had the atomizer on. Do this also about 3 times

Apparently this helps loosen the switch inside. Who knows, but it worked for me and I'm getting consistent drags again. Hope this tip works for you!

  3. As it turns out we are in such crappy state here in California that the state may Issue IOU's instead of tax returns! Now that's bad. Take a look at this...

Calif. taxpayers may get IOU instead of tax refund

By JUDY LIN, The Associated Press

    4:41 p.m. January 14, 2009

SACRAMENTO — In just a few weeks, California is expected to begin issuing state refunds to more than 10 million taxpayers – a welcome injection of cash into the ailing economy.

There's just one catch: The state may delay the checks or issue IOUs instead.

California, the most populous state in the nation, is running out of cash with a $41.6 billion deficit that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and lawmakers have thus far been unable to resolve despite more than two months of negotiations.

The situation is so dire that the state controller has warned he will have to delay payments to taxpayers, businesses, social service programs and student aid to conserve money in the state's checking account. Finance officials project the state will run out of cash in late February, but the state controller will have to make a decision by Feb. 1.

It would be the second time the state has issued IOUs on tax refunds since the Great Depression but the first time it would be felt widely because the delay comes in the middle of tax season.

For residents such as Cheryl Hubbard, 62, a home care worker from Pasadena, a missing tax refund would throw another wrench in her already tight budget. She said her schedule at her $8-an-hour job already has been slashed by half due to the budget crisis.

"I feel bad because we always end up using it to pay bills," said the grandmother, who is planning to use her refund this year to fix her car. "At one time, people looked forward to their taxes for things they wanted. Now they use it for things they need. If we can't get our tax refunds, we can't pay our bills."

According to the Franchise Tax Board, the state returned $10.7 billion to individuals and businesses last year. The average state refund was $853 for individuals and $13,284 for businesses.

The state normally borrows cash to cover operating expenses until tax revenues come in at the second half of the fiscal year. But this year, the state is collecting billions less in sales, income and business taxes while it has struggled to obtain loans in a tight credit market.

To slow the bleeding, the state last month froze financing on thousands of infrastructure projects in California, halting nearly $4 billion in loans for everything from freeway interchanges and carpool lanes to classrooms. A state panel is scheduled to decide Friday which critical projects to save.

Mac Taylor, the Legislature's nonpartisan analyst, released a report Wednesday ahead of the governor's annual State of the State address. It signaled California would fall into a cash abyss unless elected leaders act quickly.

"If the massive budget gap is not addressed promptly, the state's insolvency may significantly erode for years to come the confidence of the public – as well as investors – in state government itself," Taylor wrote.

State Controller John Chiang has not said whether he will delay or issue IOUs on tax refunds. But Taylor noted that IOUs could bear up to 5 percent in interest costs to the state.

Beth Mills, a spokeswoman for the California Bankers Association, said banks have not made a decision on whether they would accept IOUs. Mills said the organization has asked the controller's office to clarify a number of questions, including what the IOUs would look like, when banks could cash them and how much interest the state would pay.

"Right now, there's really a lot of unanswered questions," Mills said.

The last time the state issued IOUs was for two months in the summer of 1992, when many banks cashed the registered warrants for a short time to cover state tax refunds, vendor payments and other expenses, according to the legislative analyst.

State employees who received IOUs sued and won on the argument that it violated the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. However, few taxpayers felt the pinch of that because it happened in July, months after the majority of residents file their income taxes.

This time, though, the state must continue to make payments to schools, debt, state employees' wages, Medi-Cal claims and court-ordered obligations.

John Eastman, dean of the law school at Chapman University and an attorney who has represented anti-tax groups, said issuing IOUs also could invite lawsuits from individual taxpayers.

Lon Sobel, a professor at Southwestern Law School, said it's best for people expecting refunds to file early, but a recent federal extension on Form 1099 income statements from Jan. 31 to Feb. 15 could hamper their ability to do so.

"When taxpayers are late paying their taxes, the state of California charges and collects interest," Sobel said. "I don't know whether the interest goes in the other direction."

And of course last...The Screwdriver! What a beast. I wouldn't be caught dead smoking this thing. I would just feel like a crack head. No offence to other Screwdriver smokers

I can't find a picture of that at the moment, but will update as soon as I do.

  5. Good news to say the least. I'm going to do a couple searches on the US patents.

I do believe it looks like Janty is going to be here to stay. I also think NJOY is based out of Arizona and if either one of them realize the potential long term profit margins they will fight back against RJ and Marlboro.

  6. Interesting, seems that most of the tax goes for a better cause, that is, if it actually goes to whom they say it does.

Now what would be interesting to note is whether or not there is sales tax on smokes as well. If not then California could bring in close to the same amount of taxes with sales tax alone. (If everyone moved over to E-Smoking)

The other concern we should have isn't just the taxes but the big tobacco companies. If they realize (and I'm sure they are fully aware of this new technology) just how well it's working, it could potentially put them out of business. And we all know that many of our congressman and senators are deep in the pockets of big companies like Marlboro.

The good thing is that there are now quite a few companies selling Electronic Cigarettes which is a start. I was looking up some patents that I found when viewing another Online Cig Forum that stated a very similar technology came out back in the 90's however Marlboro bought the rights to it and it was never seen again. I have no doubt that some of the companies in China would be willing to sell out in a heart beat. Especially with the type of Cash Flow these Tobacco companies have.

  7. Welcome to the forum Vacker glad you made it icon_e_smile.gif Glad you like the site.

I had no idea the Netherlands banned E-Smokes as well. It really pisses me off to hear about all these countries outlawing them. For years we have been trying to create a healthy alternative to smoking, once we finally get one, of course, the Governments have to ban it. I just hope the US doesn't follow the same trend.

I'll have to find some articles on the banning of E Smokes and post them here

  8. Interesting. Amazing that because the Government thinks something I do is a "sin" that I get taxed for it, that's exactly the reason we fought against the United Kingdom, anyway that's another topic..

  9. The electronic cigarette has just been released are there actually any laws banning it? I thought you could smoke it anywhere in public

Well there are no laws against it in the United States. Although if you smoke it inside a public or private business I can guarantee you that the manager will have a few questions for you. icon_e_wink.gif But unfortunately there have been a few country's that have outlawed E Smoking. Mexico for one and parts of Australia for another. Although I don't have the exact reason why off hand, most E Smokers and Business owners there all agree it because they can't tax it. Although the government talks about wanting their citizens to be healthy, at the end of the day traditional cigarettes bring in a TON of money for the Government. If everyone moves to E-Smoking, guest what? No more money. It would be intresting to find out just how much money they make off of smokers...

  10. I wanted to purchase the NJOY from njoy.com the price isn't to bad but my main concern is if these things work or not. I have been smoking for a long time now and just don't want to waist my money. I have seen quite a few videos on Youtube but this seems like "its to good to be true" Thanks and any other advice is appreciated as well

Well of course everyone is a little different. But for the majority it's seems to work very very well. I should also note that it depends on what your looking for, if your looking to quite, then this isn't the way to go. Electronic Smoking is an alternative to smoking rather than a quite product.

I have been E-Smoking now for a couple weeks and haven't smoked since! I used to smoke around a pack and a half a day of Marlboro lights. They work so well in fact it led me to create this website. You may want to check out Puresmoker.com as he sells the exact same electronic cigarete for quite a bit cheaper. (I don't work for Puresmoker.com by the way I'm just a bit of a fanboy as you yourself will probably become icon_lol.gif )

Let me know if you have any more questions!
