  1. This should be in the news area but I found it important enough to post here. Costco and Target are already selling the E Smoke online and Walgreens is next up. Walgreens also plans to sell the NJOY in stores in the near future...! faint_32.png

    http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/ ... y0124.html

This is going to be great especially if we run out of liquid and need a quick refill. The NJOY carts will work seamlessly with the PeeWee/RN4081. A little pricey but I hope NJOY works to change this in time

  2. As Royce pointed out the Janty Minifogger is not the same is the PeeWee, Janty is sort of on their own. I'm sure they are also re brand but I'm not sure who their supplier is.

Check out the memberlist here on the forum and look up Parked. Send him a PM, he will be able to answer wether or not the PeeWee will work with that charger, he owns the PeeWee, Dura and Minifogger.

  3. Well you gotta hand it to the guy at least he was straight up and honest about it. Most politicians would just lie. What would be great is if someone could send him an electronic cigarette to try out. (How would you go around doing that anyway lol) Then again I'm not sure if they are going to let the new president ingest something that has very little research done on it. Nevertheless it could be a way for it to become permanently sold in the United States or at least a way for the FDA to kick into gear and start testing these things.

  4. 1.) Dry Throat and / or Sore Throat - PG is a humectrant and when vaping the back of the throat gets coated. You can find that after sleeping, you wake up with a sore throat. Things that can help are drinking a glass of water before bed, gargling with a mouthwash to cut the PG coating before bed, drinking water throughout the day, using hard candies and drinking liquids with honey liquid thru the day to keep your mouth moist.

2.) Acne breakouts - Many e-smokers find that if they switch completely they experience small breakouts of acne. This seems to be a reaction to the body expelling toxins and is consistent with the symptoms found when quitting smoking.

What else have folks experienced ?

3.) Hiccups - Hiccups are common among smokers and tobacco users. They're a result of swallowing nicotine. Hiccups are most common among those who use chewing tobacco, snus, dissolvable tobacco tablets. They swallow tobacco juice and hiccups can result. They are not common among pipe and cigar smokers, who neither swallow nor inhale smoke, or users of nasal snuff. If you tend to "gulp" your vapor or let it sit in your mouth and then inhale sharply - you're sending part of the inhalation to your stomach, part to your lungs. The stomach part produces hiccups from the nicotine you put there.

4.) Headaches, Nausea & Shakiness - These are common nicotine withdrawal symptoms. If you are using a low dose of nicotine and not taking in as much as when you normally smoked, you can experience these withdrawal symptoms. These withdrawal symptoms typically last only a few days to a week.

5.) Muscle Cramps and Aches - some people report increased muscle pains. The PG in most nicotine mixtures breaks down into Lactic Acid, which needs to be eliminated from the body. Increasing water intake usually addresses this problem. Not reported as much when using VG (vegetable glycerin) mixtures.

6.) Night Sweats - a few people have reported this and they have generally found out that they have an intolerance or allergic reaction to PG. There are a few pre-packaged liquids available with VG instead, but most people end up making their own liquid if they suspect a PG reaction.

7.) Diarrhea - this is another symptom that seems to be most commonly reported by people that have a reaction to PG and switching to VG seems to solve the problem.

8.) Coughing - this is very typical, and the severity and duration will depend on how heavy a smoker you were before switching, and how many real smokes you still have while e-smoking. Even when quitting smoking without using e-cigs, people find that their body starts coughing up all the junk they've been putting in - tars, chemicals, etc. When e-smoking, some folks find they start coughing up this junk within a week or two - some faster. The duration will vary, but most people were finding that the morning cough went away in the first week and the rest of the junk came up within the first month - but it's very common.

9.) Mouth Ulcers / Canker Sores - multiple folks have experienced this. Oral ulcers are a common result of ceased cigarette smoking, affecting about two out of five quitters. The nicotine being absorbed through your mouth can also exacerbate this, as folks using nicotine gum also have experienced these mouth sores. After you vap, drink something to rinse your mouth out. This will get the nic out of your mouth and not give it a chance to sit there and irritate your mouth tissue and cause a sore.

10.) Racing Pulse, Dizziness, Slurred Speech - these are very common with a nicotine overdose. Sometimes we overestimate just how much nicotine we were getting with regular cigarettes, and underestimate how much we are vaping - particularly at the beginning. Racing pulse is the most common, slurred speech less so - but usually too much nicotine. Try cutting down the dosage in your cartridges or liquids or vaping less frequently. However, some people experience this even with a low nicotine liquid and find that switching to Vegetable Glycerin (VG) solves their problems.

11.) Heartburn - some folks have reported heartburn / acid symptoms. Not enough information yet to guess why - but these symptoms seem to come after a couple of weeks of e-smoking and then go away again. Could just be an adjustment symptom, but users have reported it happening.

---- AND SOME GOOD "SYMPTOMS" ----

Since we don't want to focus on just the negatives, I wanted to put in some positive words from our experienced users.

First, most people adjust in the first week to symptoms. Dry throat and sore throat are easily remedied, and things like headaches or gas tend to go away quickly.

Sinuses clearing up - this is a wonderful thing when it starts happening. Your sense of smell starts to come back, stuffiness goes away, etc. You start noticing the smell of other people's smoke, or more subtle smells you've forgotten about as a smoker. The downside is you also start to smell the nastier smells too.

Smoker's Morning Cough going away - most people find that the annoying first thing in the morning coughing session goes away. Depending on how bad that was for you as a smoker, this is a definite milestone.

Deeper, Clear Breathing - as your body clears all the toxins away, you start breathing deeper. Some folks actually find they get dizzy initially, as they are taking in more oxygen. Many smokers actually breathe really shallow, especially if they've been smoking for a long while - so the change can be quite dramatic.

Smoke Smell Begone - no more stale smoke smell in your hair, your clothes, your home, your car. Downside is once your sense of smell comes back, you're prone to go on a massive cleaning spree - especially if you smoked in your home because you suddenly realize how bad it smells.

  5. You know at this point in time it's really to hard to tell. But I'm sure if you had a NIC overdose you would know right away.

I think the most important tool that we can use to avoid a nicotine overdose it to listen to our bodies. I personally smoke the medium e-juice. For the most part I haven't had any issues, what I have noticed however seems to be a constant headache. Now this could be a number of things, either A: I spend WAY to much time on the computer B: I'm using to much nicotine or C: I just found I need special reading glasses for the computer. I was smoking high carts at first but I have since switched over to medium I may move to low but I'm not sure yet. Every so often I get a strong urge to smoke an Analog and the medium doesn't cut it, I have a few high carts laying around and as soon as I smoke those I"m good to go. smile_32.png

The honest truth is we are guinea pigs in this brave new world of smoking. There really isn't enough research to back up the long term effects. nothing_to_say_32.png

    Summery:

First off we would like to note Christians friendly and prompt response to any questions sent via email. The E-Juices are very flavorful and the none PG formula creates the exact same amount of smoke that the PG juices do. I also noticed that the none PG formula seems to be a little easier on the lungs than PG, the throat kick is mild which I personally prefer. At the moment our favorites are Vanilla Ice Cream, (really does taste just like French Vanilla Ice Cream) and Peach Cobbler <!-- s:love: --><!-- s:love: -->

So just how does Johnson Creeks's Juice taste compared to your normal run of the mill E Smoke Juices? I'd have to describe it a little like going from store brand soda to name brand soda. The quality and flavor is higher and richer. E Smoke Talk proudly certifies <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/">http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/</a><!-- m -->

I would also like to note that apparently JC juice had some issues last year (their prior extraction process) in which the juice was causing customers atomizers to go dead. They have since changed the processe in which they filter the liquid, I have used the liquid now for a little over 12 hours and have yet to see any drop in performance on my atomizer.

    Email Response Time

Not the fastest. Although Steve is very friendly I think the large amount of traffic he is getting at the moment is causing a little bit of overload. Steve however has mentioned on another popular Smoke Forum that he plans to hire more employees in the near future. Regardless of the response time Steve is always helpful and willing to give advice when needed.

  8. Smoke-free cigarettes

Or, how I learned to stop smoking and feed my chemical addiction

    Colin Schultz

    http://www.theontarion.ca/viewarticle.php?id_pag=2164

I'm sure every smoker has thought of their health at least once when going to light up. But, maybe that same smoker can't, or doesn't want to, kick their cancer sticks. What if I told you there was a way to keep your nicotine, but lose all the nastiness? That seems to have been the line of thought researchers had when they developed electronic cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes, or e-cigs from here on out, contain a few marvels of modern electronics. Inside the small metal casing are a rechargeable battery, a miniature atomizer and a chamber for a nicotine cartridge. The cartridges contain water, nicotine and propylene glycol. When the user inhales, the battery warms up the atomizer, which causes nicotine vapour to be sprayed into their mouth.

At $80 for the e-cig itself and $12.50 for 100 cigarettes worth of refills, it seems competitive.

Of course, none of this means anything if a few important questions aren't answered: What are the effects of nicotine on your health? Will anyone actually use these contraptions? Additionally, if they do catch on, will people start who never smoked before?

"I definitely see people taking interest in it if they've already smoked, because most smokers are aware of all the things that smoking does to you," said Kristin Earles, team leader for Leave the Pack Behind campaign at the University of Guelph. "I see it as maybe being an alternative, but I don't see it as something that people are going to start doing . . . because they're told that it's safer."

One of the common complaints about other nicotine delivery devices used by smokers is that they don't satisfy the routine involved with smoking. To try to address this concern, e-cigs contain a small red LED to simulate a smouldering tip, while the user blows out water vapour instead of smoke.

    But are they really safe?

The cartridges contain a hazardous, or even lethal, dose of nicotine. The magic number in toxicology (the study of poisons) is the LD50, or the dose required to be lethal to fifty per-cent of the population. The LD50 for nicotine is 0.5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. This means that it would take 22 mg to kill the average cheerleader or 55 mg to kill the average defensive lineman. Your weight likely falls somewhere in between, but at 16 mg of nicotine per cartridge, you'll probably at least get pretty sick.

What makes the cartridges especially dangerous is the possibility that nicotine could enter the body as a liquid, rather than strictly as a gas, if you're clumsy. In that case, it would only take between four or eight milligrams to do serious damage

"None of the medical doctors have ever said that this is a healthy alternative," said Earles. "They are taking out all of the carcinogenic compounds, but there is research being done proving that nicotine might actually have different transformable compounds. That once they are in your body, they can transform and become carcinogenic."

The studies linking tobacco to diseases usually consider the cigarettes as a whole, instead of just the nicotine. So, not much is known about nicotine's effects or metabolites.

To try to cope with the risk of overdosing, manufacturers have installed safety devices that cut off the e-cig's operation if too many puffs are taken in a short time frame, or if they last over eight seconds.

E-cig users must realize that nicotine is a potentially lethal substance, and should be treated respectfully. Still, it's better than getting nicotine and all that other nastiness.

"From what I can understand talking to smokers [is that] even though nicotine is what they're addicted to in the smoke, I don't think they're going to feel that sense of relaxation or euphoria that they get from the cigarette," said Earles.

The chemical addiction to nicotine that smoker's feel should be satisfied, but whether the smoke and mirrors are adequate to replicate the routine of lighting up is up to them to find out.

  9. I did refill while cart in tip cuz the paperclip trick held the cart up. So with your commentary i will definately NOT do that again -- live and learn.

Not sure if I understood you correctly. So long as the "white cart" inside the orange cart is OUT of the cart, or at least exposed enough that you can actually get the liquid in the cotton rather than the walls of the orange cart then your good to go.

I do find that in the morning i do crave an analog but eventually that will pass. I also noticed how stinky my car is since I really don't smoke in there any more. Surprised that only in a couple of days my sense of smell has returned.

Yea I didn't realized how bad some of my suits smelled until I stopped smoking. faint_32.png As for the morning smoke, that will pass but I"ll be honest I still get that morning crave, I just head up to my office and Esmoke right away while checking my emails and I'm usually ok.

  10. Hey Vacker! No question is lame, you should have seen some of the questions I posted back when I first started <!-- s:D --><!-- s:D -->

    1. I seem to get a lot of juice coming through the tip, is this normal?

It's happened to all of us, and personally I think it tastes horrible, I hate it. Usually the reason for this is when your dripping rather than just using the cartridges, or your dripping flavored juice on an already full cartridge. The carts are to full and thus the liquid is coming up through the hole. Also keep in mind that it's better to push the cart up with a pin or a paper clip as you stated below, trying to drop it in cart without hitting the walls is tough. (if you due get juice on the wall of the cart it WILL go in your mouth) Keep in mind that adding to much liquid can also lead to flooding your atomizer.

I ask cuz it seems to irritate my tongue and lips, slight burning sensation.

Yup this is normal, just swish with some water and spit, or dab your tongue on a napkin, which ever suits you better

    2. very hard to draw,

but i noticed 2 holes on screw end of battery and 2 holes in atomizer were not aligned, should they be. it does make a huge difference in vapor.

This is normal. It does not matter if the screw holes are aligned, there is enough room in the threaded area to allow for air to enter into the atomizer. If your getting hard draws it could be because you have flooded your atomizer, something I just did the other day.

Drawing from the Peewee should be like sucking air through a small straw. If it gets to the point where you feel like your drinking a very thick milkshake or it feels like "sucking sand through a McDonald's straw" then something is wrong. Most likely that you will need to clean your atomizer. Again there is no guarantee that it will work the same again. But if yours was anything like mine was I would have went back to analogs at the rate I was sucking on that thing. Sometime pulling of the atomizer turning it around and blowing in it "the wrong way" will help clear up the gunk.

Side note on Cartridges: i don't care for the NJOY cartridges as the little caps don't stay on if i decide to refill. PureSmoker cartridges actually come with more like a plug in the cartridge.

Very true, I like Steve's carts much better.

Here is some info about how to clean your automizer

    HOW TO CLEAN:

Do not use boiling water, it can damage the atomizer.

The quick change in temperature of the different parts van give in some brands problems of fitting.

The chrome ring at the end of the tube can come lose with risk of broken wires and a dead atomizer.

For the cigarette models only clean the atomizer part in this way.

1 - Let the warm water flow in the atomizer an turn it upside down. repeat this several times.

2 - In the meanwhile fill a cup with the warm water and drop the atomizer in the cup. leave it there for half an hour

3 - then go to step 1 again. do this cycle 3 times.

4 - if it is OK the water stays clean with no smell.

5 - then shake the water out the atomizer en put the atomizer on a warm place to dry. (very gentle blow excess water out can help a little)

6 - only when you are really sure it is dry put some drops 2-4 of Liquid in the atomizer. (drying to drip down the wall of the automizer rather than the on top of the mesh peice)

You Must do this, before placing battery or trying to smoke!!!

If you start smoking a really clean and dry atomizer, the heating wire inside will overheat and the atomizer will die!

SO after putting the drops of Liquid on the atomizer wait for a few minutes for the atomizer mesh to soak the Liquid.

    Now enjoy you're NEW atomizer.

Remark: Every atomizer is filled with some Liquid before leaving the factory to prevent overheating a dry atomizer.

Remark 2: If You really want to clean a Cigar, Cigarillo or Pipe atomizer you can dot it in the same way, BUT in this atomizers is some electronics and a microchip. So for this types leaving it to dry before placing the battery is even more important.

Also always start these types with some drops of liquid, and wait a while before you start smoking.

If you do not have a bottle of Liquid, you can extract some from a cartridg

    e.

I also find that using rubbing alcohol works really well but make sure you rinse afterwards otherwise the alcohol taste will be left behind

  11. This was on the Puresmoker website today

"Wednesday January 21st through Friday January 23rd, PureSmoker will be doing its quarterly inventory. During this time, you are free to order anything and everything you see available, however, orders will not be shipped until Monday, January 26th.

Once our inventory is complete, you will not only see full product available, but also a couple new and exciting products. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We do ask that you give us 24-48 hours to respond during this VERY busy time."

Couple new and exciting products hmmm? misdoubt_32.png I'm on it! Can't wait to see what he bring in stock now.... love_32.png

  12. Alright guys I just ordered some E-Juice from http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/

I specifically ordered this to try out the None-PG formula which uses a high food-grade vegetable glycerin. JCJ says it's a "safe consumable compound used in many desserts and sauces" sounds good to me. I've read that a very few have had issues when smoking the more commonly used PG. I myself don't have to many issues with PG however every so often when I vape during long periods of time and/or take large drags I tend to have a harder time breathing. I wouldn't say it's anything to worry about just very slight and only so often. I'm hoping JCJ can produce a similar amount of smoke with their none PG version. I plan to post a video review as soon as it comes in the mail!

I ordered the sample pack which includes the following flavors: Original Tobacco, Wild Cherry, Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Almond Decadence, Arctic Mint, Tennessee Cured, Peach Cobbler, Sweet Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Madness, and Smooth Hickory

    0061-2T.jpg

  13. Congratulations to Mr.Obama on being the new President of These United States. I wish him the best of luck!

I would also like to note by the way that he is the first president NOT to have been inaugurated before 12 noon. Was it really necessary to have the band play? Could they not have just waited? Anyway that irritated me a little

  14. @ AGS this is a rare case I've been smoking my E-Cig for a while now and havn't had any issues at all. Sometimes I'll get a little bit of a dry throat but a glass of water will usually fix that. We've all had the same issue after a night of drinking and smoking analogs have we not?

@ Crabs it's really to bad this didn't work out for you. I really do think you should give the Johnsons Smoke Juice a try. I think I may order some just to see what it's like to smoke juice without the PG. Plus Peach Cobler sounds good. They where known for clogging up atomizers but after a recent re-do of their juice and a review from Leaford over on Youtube everything seems to be fine now.

  15. As Royce said dripping directly on the atomizer is fine. It's also ok to use the blank cartridge, just be sure that you don't accidentally smoke it dry, meaning you have no more juice left. This will cause your atomizer to burn out. (If it starts to get a burnt taste time to drip!)

You should always keep a spare atomizer on hand. Puresmoker sells them for 10 bucks. Can't beat that icon_e_smile.gif

  16. January 19th, 2009 - 4:45 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend:

Melbourne, January 19 (ANI): Despite being outlawed in Australia, electronic cigarettes that use nicotine-flavoured vapour are still being sold on the website eBay for hundreds of dollars. E-cigarettes were demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last week, and they have been a major attraction for smokers ever since.

With the aid of battery-generated heat, these cigarettes create a flavoured vapour, which is puffed by the user in the same fashion as real smoke. The devices, commonly from Chinese manufacturers, even have tips that glow when the user inhales, simulating the ember of a real cigarette. However, safety fears attached to electronic cigarettes still remain, with reports suggesting that they are mostly sold with nicotine instead of flavoured capsules. “This looks like another insidious, manipulative attempt to hook people on smoking. I”d be very concerned about any attempts to promote smoking, especially to young people,” news.com.au quoted Health Minister Nicola Roxon as saying.

A spokesperson for the Federal Department of Health and Ageing said: “The e-cigarette has not been evaluated for safety or efficacy. Nicotine has well recognised physiological and pathological effects and, as with conventional cigarettes, the e-cigarette would be expected to lead to, and sustain, nicotine addiction.”

On the other hand, eBay Australia’’s spokesman said that the e-cigarette items advertised on the website would immediately be taken down if any of them was found to breach the companys policies on illegal and tobacco products. (ANI)
