Congrats on getting your ego !!!
are you using carts? or cartomizers/

if using carts you can also dry blowing out the atomizer.
    1. disconnect from battery
    2. over a paper towel (or such)--blow through the battery end of the atomizer.
    3. use the corner of the paper towel (or such), twist and push into the open end of the atomizer and let sit for a few minutes.
    4. add 4 drops to the atomizer, reattach the cart--may need to top off the cart (add a few drops to the top of the filler)
    5. vape !!

    hope that helps a little.

another thought is that it might be the primer on your new atty giving you a bad first impression. Pick up some 510 carto's with soft tops and see if they taste better. Until then, blow out the atty, let it drain on a kleenex/paper towel, re prime with 2 or 3 drops of eliquid, prime puff it like a pipe, re drip... now inhale.

np. I probably could've went more indepth but didn't feel it neccessary to write a thesis here. Hopefully that eases your mind though.

I read a report of a test they did on some rats. Two groups were used, both in containers; both groups exposed to the H1N1 flu virus. The first group was also exposed to vaporized PG, the second group was not. As it stands the group that had vaporized PG with the H1N1 did not get sick. The group that was not exposed to the PG got the virus and died. As I recall, the test was done to see if vaporized PG has the same effect of preventing microbial growth as pure liquid PG.

I, personally, am doing a controlled experiment with vg and pg used seperately as in an agar growth medium -along with a food source- to test fungal growth. It's in it's first week of testing with no signs of growth, either fungal or baterial. I'll post any test result at the end of the experiment.

    Dude.

Let me go ahead and ease your mind friend. For any microorganism to grow certain conditions must be met: Temperature and humidity must be high, typically over 85% but ideally over 90%; food must also be present; this food should be in the form of simple sugars. This is one major reason plants store the food for their seeds in the form of starches! And finally, access to water is needed to fuel the fermentation process of breaking down the sugars for food.

Propylene glycol has a magical effect of preventing mold growth. It is used in humidifiers for this very purpose. Along with its emulsifing properties and very low toxicity, PG, even when mixed with water, keeps humidity levels at 70%. It also prevents water uptake by these microorganisms therefore preventing germination of the spore itself. Indeed, PG is a truely magical substance!

Also, if the carto is made of inorganic material as opposed to, say, cotton, that will inhibit mold growth as well.

Hope that makes you feel better!

    * Maybe this thread should be moved to the "concerns" forum?

Hi, while it is interesting to read a concern about mold spores in cartomizer filling, there are mold spores, viruses and bacteria free-floating in the air around us. As an ex-smoker, I always have to weigh the fact that the chemicals and amounts of tar I was ingesting into my throat and lungs was destroying my health. All the 'testing' on analogs has not made people stop using them. Is it prudent to err on the side of caution? Yes, of course. Most everything we do in life has a risk factor. But am I going to become an alarmist over the fact that I use cartomizers on a regular basis, absolutely not!

Depends why you vape. I was mostly satisfying a hand to mouth addiction. No doubt borne from the physical, but for me, it was really about the brain thinking it was getting satisfying nicotine just going through the motions. Once I got to zero, habit kind of died out. Went out this morning without anything for a few hours, haven't vaped yet today. A little over a year ago I forced myself to wait an hour between smokes. I highly recommend trying to cut down on nicotine to everyone, if you get freaky, bring it back up.

Welcome to Vapor Talk! Not sure what greensmoke is compatible with. From the link below, looks like KR808-D2. I'm not sure how the KR808-D2 differs from the KR808-D1.

    Great stories!!

@2beSmokefree.. yes! Would love to see some pics. Maybe a link to your pb?

I don't have any spook stories to share, but I do have sentimental ones.
Our place is an old homestead where the rancher raised sheep and cows. Every once in awhile we can hear the sheep baaaaaaing in the barnyard as they await their shearing. Only thing is, there hasn't been any sheep there for over 20 years or more!
Second one: I had a great mustang that loved to run, loved to race. Every once in a while we hear his hooves pounding down the dusty dirt road towards us, in greeting. He's been long gone for over 30 years. (even strangers hear him, not just us).
third one: We were sitting at the table, trying to enjoy our morning coffee when the leg of my pj depressed from the pressure of our Dobies nose as she gave us her morning greeting. She had died the day before. Hubby and I both not only felt her pressence, we witnessed it.

Welcome to Vapor Talk! If you're wanting a battery to last all day, go with the eGo. Most report battery life of 8+ hours (8-12 is common) and a kit comes with two batteries. As you'll find out, vaping is a little different than smoking and it's hard to give an answer to "how may cigs is a cart the same as" questions. Carts generally don't last long, maybe 3-5 cigs at best. Many find carts don't work that well and turn to direct dripping (vid posted below). For on-the-go use, I'd get some cartomizers with your order and some eliquid. You can use bottles of eliquid to refill carts and cartomizers. Cartomizers will hold about 30 drops of juice and will last a while before needing refilled. You'll probably find that there's no eliquid that is going to taste like your Marlboro. I smoked about 1 1/2 packs of Marlboro lights per day for 20 years and the eliquid that worked for me was Vapor Talk Tobacco in 24mg. I would suggest getting at least 3-4 different flavors when you buy your kit.

Feel free to ask any questions. I'm sure others will be along to fill in any gaps I may have left out - there's a lot of info out there. LOL!

    What is direct dripping

keep em coming guys, this is too sweet of thread to waylay.

A while back my great nephew came to visit and as he glanced around the place in appreciation his eyes suddenly popped wide open as he exclaimed "WOW!! Your place looks just like that place on the computer... ummm... FARMIVLLE!!! It looks just like FARMVILLE!!"

The other day I found a photo of me taken when I was around 6yrs of age. Naturally, I couldn't wait to show the youngest how adorable I was back then. He alternated looking at the photo and me, taking notes and just as I was about to explode with pride, he says "Yep, I figured it'd be old enough to be in black and white" and walked away. ooooouuuuuucccccchhhhhh! lol. Pride always goeth before a fall.

Jeffery at WordUp went above and beyond the call of service in order to fulfill my order, even my pre-order. The communication was also top-notch, between the forum, private messaging, and even a few phone calls. (hey, I picked one up! lol). He's a great guy and he runs a top notch company. It was quite refreshing to do business with such an outstanding individual who takes the time to communicate and clarify the transaction or any problems that one might have.
Also, the Jeffs Special Blend of eJuice is nice! It has nice vapor, mellow flavor, and gets better each day of use. At first I thought it to be a bit too mellow... but I was wrong on that. My tastebuds woke up the 2nd day and I've been vaping very happily with it... it's a good trustable vape. I've yet to encounter a dud toke with it.
I also love the Jumbo eGo Carts with Jumbo Atty. Even the tip is nice... sure, it took a little to get used to, but now I love it. The cart I'm using is one of the perfect ones and I sure hope they are all perfect. The filler fluff is what will make or break a good experience with cart vaping and so far it's perfect. Just the right thickness. I didn't even have to take it out to fill, I just dripped 70 drops right into it and topped it off with 20-30 drops after 3 hours vaping. (I avg 10 drops an hour I see.). It's been days and it's still absorbing nicely, although a bit less liquid will drip into it now, as expected. A regular good cart for me would be 12 drops, then 8 then 6 then 4 then 2 then 1 then toss. This Jumbo cart took 30 drops consistantly for 2 days and dropped off the third to 20 drops.
This JC stuffing is lasting longer lifewise as well as drip wise. There's also been zero leakage due to the perfect stuffing. I know that the stuffing will let me down on another cart or two later on down the road, I'm not naive. But because I do know that "perfect" really does exist, I will continue buying these in search of the perfect vape for busy vaporers.
The Cartomiser I also ordered is nice, but I don't get the vapor that I do with my JC. It will sure come in handy for travelling though, so I'm going to buy more of these as well and keep them safely tucked out of sight so that they will be handy when I need them.
Overall, an excellent company, service, communication and of course products.

    Where have you been??
I have a "contraption" you could say... that I hook my carto too by the threaded end, put a carto condom half way on the other end, and swing it around. This literally fills the condom with juice from the carto and I'm ready to refill with whatever. This also helps to "fluff" back some of the filler material. And then I grab the trusty paperclip w/ the end bent out and run it through the hole of the carto, wiggle back and forth, and make sure there is a clear path for air. That is key... you should be able to see completely through a carto before you use it. People toss alot of cartos thinking they are clogged but I they need to do is poke something thru the carto and clear a path!

    Hi there!

I'm still new to vaping (going into my 3rd week now) but from what I have seen all over this board, EVERYONE does it a little bit differently. For me, I BEGAN with smoking about 3-5 analogs a day. But I wanted to get it down to ONLY 2 every day (one with coffee in the morning and one after dinner at night). I was getting tripped up during the day when I would get on phone calls. I wanted the ecig to use during those phone calls. I never intended to quit smoking all together. I love it too much.

But without even trying, that's exactly what happened. (still freaks me out). I have not had an analog in 2 weeks now. I tried one last week and OMG I sputtered and choked it was so nasty. Threw the rest away.

However, that's but just one outcome. I have seen plenty of others on this board who have smoked for many years, sometimes 2-3 packs a day who have now cut down to 5 or so a day and they are just fine with that. Some quit analogs all together but use vaping at the same nic strength as when they smoked. Some have managed to get their nic down to 0 and STILL vape because it's just fun. (that's where I want to get to now).

I think rather than thinking of it as a "smoking cessation" product, thinking of it as a "smoking REPLACEMENT" product makes more sense. Smoking cessation has one goal: quit smoking. Smoking replacement has so many more options and variations available to you, therefore, more chance of "success" because YOU are in control of what the goal is.

The bottom line is about what YOU want to achieve, not what you think you are "supposed" to achieve by vaping. That's freedom!

You know, almost all of your post have said the exact same thing in one form or another. You want to vape and you want your wife to vape, who doesn't.

I'm not sure what point your trying to make on the forum or where your going with this, but members have already given you their input, many times over. I personally think it's idiotic to start vaping if you don't smoke. Why bother? To relax? Have a cup of tea, exercise or read a book.

Either way it's your choice, but please, stop posting the same topic/post over and over again.

I have to agree with the others. I don't think it's a good idea to vape if you were never a smoker. We have all used vaping to replace the really bad analogs and are rightfully proud of ourselves for giving them up, but if I had never smoked, I would never have started vaping. It just doesn't make sense. Why take something into your lungs if you don't need to? We've all taken a lot worse into lungs and have just replaced with something we feel isn't as bad. We don't know for sure that vaping is safe, we're just very sure that it's a whole lot safer than analogs. And we all know how much better we feel and how much healthier we are because of it. My husband is a non-smoker and I would probably kick his behind if he said he wanted to take up vaping. Just as I would discourage a person from starting to smoke, I'd discourage a person from starting to vape if they had never smoked - despite the fact that loved smoking and really love vaping.

Thats a great idea Thank you, I am going to have to try that one to help with the taste, one way I clean mine is spray keyboard cleaner (air) in a can into the hole with threads and put a paper towel in the other end, it really gets all the old liquid out and makes the carto dry then I just refill it with fresh liquid and its good to go, I am also cheap too, I refill my cartos 50-100 times until they are completely dead, LoL!

Welcome to VT! Hang in there, it'll all come together for you.

You may want to start now on trying to return the Prada. As I understand it, it's quite difficult and it's difficult to get them to stop charging your credit card each month. You may have to go through your credit card company.

Moving on - Below are two of the best into vids I've found and it will answer a lot of your questions. Very informative vids. I'll try to answer some of your questions... I would suggest going with a 510 kit or an eGo. Both use the same attomizer, just have different batteries. The 510 kit has smaller batteries that last about 2 hours (at best unless you're a very light smoker). The eGo has bigger batteries (although they are quite small) that will last 8-12 hours per charge. Ejuice is the liquid that nicotine and flavoring. You'll want to buy some with your first kit. Cartridges are what holds the ejuice. They are refillable. There quite a few models out there, but the 510, 801, 901 and KR808 are the most popular. You can buy adapters for most that will allow you to do some interchanging, but if you go with the 510 you probably won't need any adapters.

Standard 510 kits run from $40-$50, and the eGo is about $70, but well worth the extra cost.
