The reviews you saw, which version was it for -- the original or version 2? The first version, I had major problems with the center chimney but never any leaking. As for the Triton V2, I have three of them in constant rotation and no leaks on any of them. The only "problem" I've had is with the top fill heat sink being a little hard to get unscrewed but if I use a little rubber mat for grip, it comes right off. The 1.8 ohm coils are what I get because I don't care for sub-ohm either. I like them so much I just ordered two more for back ups.

5 volts seems rather high to me but to each his own. Vaping is all about personal preference. That said, volts is about power, how much power your mod is using. You want to order by resistance for your coil. How many ohm (resistance level) was your old coil? Did you take the old coil with you when you went to the store to show the clerk? Or did you take your tank the coil goes into with you? When you put a new coil into a tank, you need to not only prime the coil (which is putting the few drops onto the wicking material through the holes), but then, after putting the tank back together, you need to let it sit for a few minutes so the wick can get totally soaked in e-liquid. There's nothing worse than dry hits. When is the last time you charged the battery? I know it sounds like a silly question but it has to be asked. Is your battery fully charged? <-- Never mind. Sorry, I didn't read the last line of your post. Are you sure that your battery is fully charged? Sometimes, a full connection between battery and charger is not made so... If you could tell us what battery, mod, and tank you have, it'll be easier to help troubleshoot for you. Otherwise, we can only give you general information which may or may not work with your set up.

What vaping gear did you get for Christmas?
Tam replied to Tam's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Nah, when it comes to PCs, overkill is always better. -
Just ordered two more Triton V2 from Mt. Baker Vaper. Also got two 5-pack of 1.8 ohm coils for the Triton V2, four 5-packs of 1.8 ohm single coils for Protank 2 and they threw in a free bottle of mystery juice. I really like Mt. Baker Vaper for equipment, it's too bad I can't seem to find a liking for their juice.

What vaping gear did you get for Christmas?

Thankfully, video cards are much less expensive these days than before (unless you're going for top end gear in which case you might also need a new motherboard, processor, more RAM... ). Hmmmm. Sounds like a good reason to upgrade your computer, lol! -
Well, Christmas has come and gone, we're done for another year. Were you naughty or nice? Did you get any vaping gear or e-liquid for gifts? If you did, share them here. No vaping stuff for me, I really don't need any more. Besides, I've been put on the "naughty" list this year, lol.

Comp for the win! The Atlantis 2 can use the same coil as the Aspire Triton 2, which comes in a 1.8 ohm coil option. Just a thought.
-
Mt. Baker Vaper has them for $30

If I remember correctly you ordered a couple of tanks before, right? The Triton 2 will work well with your new Dovpo, wasn't there something else like an Arctic tank or something like that?
-
What coils you get depends on what tank you get to go with it. The Dovpo mini 50W on its own is just a battery....

What PG/VG ratios are in your juice? Do you add extra sweetener? Where do you get your juice from?
-
On the left side of the display you'll see two numbers stacked. The top number will be the resistance of your coil. The bottom number will be either watts or volts. To the right of those two numbers you'll see bigger numbers and a W or V. That larger number is what the battery is currently working on. Yes, the other smaller number will change with the larger number to the right but it's the larger number that will tell you whether you're currently on volts or watts. PG is the flavor carrier, it's also thinner and will give you more throat hit. VG is the vapor, it's thicker juice (slightly sweet), and will gunk up your coils faster. With a sub-ohm tank/coil, you want to go with higher VG than the 50/50 ratio. Might be you want to try buying juice online? There are quite a few reputable vendors that many of us use on this forum. Fadora Vapor owned by our own @Compenstine on this forum is a great resource. He will work with you until the cows come home to customize your juice to perfection. EC Blends is also a good, trusted vendor as are many on this forum. Go to the home page and scroll down until you see the vendor section. Read e-liquid reviews and the comments. Those will also help.

Is your iStick on watts or volts? It will be one for the other, not both at the same time. You will be able to tell by the large number and then the w or v after it. The 0.6 ohm coil is what we call "sub ohm" which is because it's lower than 1.0 ohms of resistance. These coils burn hotter, which could be partially responsible for your harsh vape. Yes, you can add plain VG to your juice but it will mute/dilute the flavor a bit. You might want to get the same flavor in a higher VG content and then mix the two. If you buy liquids for a sub-ohm tank/coil, I would recommend a 30 PG/70 VG mix. Any higher VG and your wick might not be able to absorb the juice fast enough and you will wind up with what we call a "dry hit". That's pretty unpleasant and could burn the cotton of your wick. Once the cotton burns, you'll never get the burnt taste out. That's when you'll want to empty the tank, wash it out, fill with new juice, replace coil and start again. With sub-ohm coils, you need to prime the coil before vaping or you'll burn the cotton. Priming means to either put a little juice onto the wick through the holes on the side and let sit for several minutes so the cotton has a chance to soak up the juice and get good and wet first.

Contrary to the propaganda being thrown around, I very much doubt vaping causes kids to start smoking. Most of us on this forum are former smokers. Once we get off the cigarettes for a while, we can't stand the taste of cigarettes anymore. Like Aufin said, you should have a talk with your cousin. No accusations, no lectures, just a long talk.

More PG in an e-liquid = more throat hit. You would want to go a higher VG (smoother vape). Different flavors require different heat temperatures. Start low, vape. If that doesn't do it for you, turn up the volts/watts on your iStick. Once you get a slight burnt taste or a harsh vape, turn it down a notch. That will be the sweet spot for that juice and coil. Also, the new coil you put in, do you know what the resistance is? If it came with the tank, many times a tank will come with one or two coils of different resistances. The new coil might be lower resistance which would explain why you're getting a harsher vape on high temperatures. Just a guess.

The first V2 that I got from... can't remember the vendor... was really tough to get the heat sink off. The two I got from Mt. Baker Vaper is very smooth threading.
-
Mt. Baker Vaper has the Triton 2 ($30 and $14.99 for 5-pack of kanthal coils) and the TFV4 (not mini) but not the crown and free shipping on orders over $50. I see what you mean about finding a vendor with all three at a reasonable price.

Did you order the version 1 or 2, Rix?
-
Boy, Jason, when you go into "hoarding mode" you do it right! LOL Just putting my two cents in - so far I have three Triton 2 and thinking about adding a couple more. The second version corrected all the problems the first one had. It's such a great performer for me that I finally found the replacement for my beloved HH.357s that I've been stuck on for years. With a 1.8 ohm coil, it delivers the perfect mouth to lung tank. If you use the subohm coils or the TC Clapton coil, I'm sure it would deliver a great direct to lung experience as well.

Argh! Eleaf betrayed me!!! They made an iStick with removable battery! UGH. Go with the Reuleaux. They didn't piss me off.

Hopefully, with a different tank system, you'll get what you need to get off the analogs. Once you break in your new stuff and if it's still not doing it for you, then you will want to look at increasing the amount of nic in your juice. Sorry to hear about your stroke. A very dear friend of mine has had three TIAs and another had a full stroke complete with aphasia so I've schooled myself with its symptoms and some work arounds. As for coils, you might want to scroll up to an earlier post of mine in this thread, the answer is there.
-
Mouth to lung is when you draw the vapor into your mouth and then inhale. Direct lung inhale is just that. You just inhale straight into your lungs. If you don't ask questions, how will you learn? Personally, I'd prefer people ask lots of questions (as long as they read the answers they get), and learn how to vape safely.

Happy holidays! Yes, the Triton 2 will fit this mod, any tank with a 510 connection will work. There are two coils that come with the tank, one of them is a 1.8 ohm coil (which I prefer), and the other is a .5 Clapton coil. Because I vape mouth to lung I prefer the 1.8 ohm coils. Mt. Baker Vaper has them for cheap here: https://www.mtbakervapor.com/accessories/5pk-aspire-triton-replacement-coils/ With a 1.8 ohm coil, I use it at 10.4W otherwise I get a burnt taste if I go any higher. Just because you can doesn't mean you need to. Do you also have an 18650 battery and a charger? If you go with the .5 ohm Clapton coil, you will want to make sure to have a battery that can handle it safely. Earthling and Jason can steer you to some good batteries. I prefer to stay with an enclosed battery (iStick 50W) so I know what my mod can handle without having to buy other hardware.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with friends and family. Best wishes for the new year!

Well, that's a new one. I usually have the problem where I can't even break it loose and get it unscrewed! I hope someone comes along to help you with your situation.
