The iStick is just your power source. What tank are you using? What resistance is the coil? What is your PG/VG level in your juice? Those all have a part in making more vapor.
-
Well, this is all good news. It sounds like he's getting you trained pretty quickly. Good boy!

So cute! I can't believe how much he's grown... and how can you resist those, "C'mon, play with me" eyes?

Today when I was at the vet's I saw a St. Bernard/Great Dane mix. Never seen one of those before. He was a beauty! Too bad I didn't think to snap a pic. He was 115 lbs, his little buddy of the same breed was 12 lbs but only 7 weeks old. So cute! I want to see what Bo looks like now. He must've been busy growing up a storm since you made the initial post.

Wanting to make juice that tastes like soda

There probably is. What's the actual drink you're trying to make? -
We frequently get asked, "What's the best..." from new members / new vapers on this forum. "Best" is a very subjective thing in the world of vaping. What's best for one person will not work for another. Yet, despite us saying this over and over and over again... we still get asked the same questions. What's the best battery? What's the best mod? What's the best tank? What's the best beginner's kit? Let's have a discussion. What's the best for YOU and why is it the best? Okay... go!

Most of us on this forum use vaping as a means to get off cigarettes. While we believe that vaping is less harmful than smoking tobacco, there are no long term studies that have proven research that conclude vaping is safe. If you still want to take the risk, then I would encourage you to start reading threads on this forum to gain information about vaping, different tanks, coils, coil resistance, PG/VG ratios for different vapor output, heat output, watts/volts, different metals and wires, battery safety, amps, etc. There is much to learn in vaping. We stress safety. Always.

help me decide between these vapes please!
Tam replied to charliemen's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Scroll down the page on all three links you put down and you'll see this disclaimer/warning: Advanced user item. Use at your own risk! There's a reason why they put that kind of warning on their page. You are not an advanced user so I would recommend you skip these and keep looking. For someone who is just beginning, there are better starter kits that will ease you into vaping. -
Earthling gives very good advice. I'll add one more - do not buy your first rig from eBay, there are too many knock offs and a beginner wouldn't know the difference. Safety is the issue with knock offs.

You are posting on a forum. What you're calling "conversations" are called "threads" on a forum. Why are you so eager to begin vaping? Are you trying to stop smoking?
-
And that's what should matter, that it works fine for you. Whenever I hear of things that are new to me I like to dig deeper, do more research to learn more about it. You can never be too careful, especially when you're dealing with batteries. All too often, the wrong batteries are used in the wrong way and things explode in people's faces. It's a good idea to know what your equipment can and can't do for what you want to use it for. Just my opinion of course.

new to vapes, lpease help really wanna start vaping!
Tam replied to charliemen's topic in New Vapers Forum
All too often the news stories you hear about e-cigs blowing up in someone's face are gotten from places like eBay where you may or may not get an authentic name brand instead of an unsafe knock off. We generally don't suggest or recommend vapers to shop there -- especially new vapers who probably don't know what to look out for. Not to say there aren't good vendors there selling quality items, it's just too easy to get knock offs when you're inexperienced. -

You only have to post this once, someone should be along to answer your post. Probably. I deleted the duplicate. -
The last box of Triton 1.8 ohm coils I used only lasted 5 tankfuls where the earlier versions lasted easily 10. *sighs* And... I'm off to change another damned coil now.

What resistance coils are you looking at using with this battery? That would play a part with what kinds will be recommended for you. Be careful of rewrapped counterfeit batteries, you only want genuine original name brands to be as safe as possible. I'll leave the rest up to @jasonculp for the geek speak. He's really into batteries and can steer you in the right direction. @mozelley This is the first time I've heard about AWT 40A 300 mAh batteries. Can you give some details on why "these batteries are good" and what's you background with vaping? What resistance of coils are you using in what tank? Are you building your own coils or using stock coils? I'm just very curious because you're new.

What's the PG/VG ratio of the juice you're using? The nic level of the juice would have very little to no effect on the burnt taste you're getting. It sounds more like you're getting dry hits. If you've already fried your wick, no matter what you do now, it will continue to taste burnt until you rewick your coil and clean out the juice in your tank and replace with new.

All too often we forget the learning curve we had to go through when we first started. I'm old school and prefer to go with the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Better to have people learn to ride a bicycle before we put them on a Harley.
-
What watts/volts are you using on it and what is the coil's resistance?

Welcome to Vapor Talk.

From the information I googled, you will need one 18650 battery for your TOPBOX mini. That means you need to pay special attention to which battery you put into it, not just any 18650 will do. If you're going to be using the 0.5 coil, you will need the right battery. @jasonculp @Earthling789 Either one of the above should be here shortly to give you a lesson on batteries and safety. We emphasize safety a LOT here.

No problem. I hope the help works out well for you. And, with that, it's time for bed.

Yes, they do. http://www.discountvapers.com/international-shipping-policy/ I've done business with them quite often and have had good experiences. Don't know what they'd charge for shipping though.

I wouldn't go with a kit like that, that tank looks like a knock off of an old CE4 or CE5, which are pretty much junk. Go for something like this: http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger-evod-twist-battery-1000mah-black/ That's a 1000 mAh variable voltage battery so it should last all day before needing to charge. This link here: http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger-mini-protank-3-clear/ is for a Kanger Pro Tank 3 mini. Get the 5-pack 1.8 ohm coils here: http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger-protank-evod-coil-replacement-5-pack-1-8ohms-1/ That would be a good starter kit for anyone who is just learning about things. Then, before long you'll want to get more advanced stuff but by then you'll have a good idea what you'll be looking for.

With an EVOD coil, there will be some leaking from the bottom of the coil, that's normal. Just make sure to clean it periodically and keep it clean. Be sure to clean the connection end of the charger as well. Go through and read some of the threads on the New Vapers, ask a question and the General Discussion parts. You'll learn a lot. Don't be afraid to ask questions, that's how we learn. If your EVOD doesn't have a little knob at the end to turn the volts up and down, I would suggest you upgrade to one that does. You said that you didn't know what the resistance is of the coil you're using. I would suggest you get a 5-pack of 1.8 ohm coils when you go back to the shop tomorrow. Always have back ups. I can't stress that enough. Have an extra battery, an extra charger, more tanks, more coils, another charger... You'll never be sorry that you have too many back ups. Seriously. 11 mg of nicotine is about middle of the road. Are you vaping to quit smoking cigarettes? If so, how much did you smoke? There are many variables that will decide what nic level you want.
