  1. Yep, if you also take a good look at the device, there are no controls anywhere...
  2. Saw a very brief one-line mention of this but not the whole article. Thanks for posting. Now, if we could just get more lawmakers to open their eyes...
  3. Most of us just have different tanks with different flavors in them. It's much easier to switch one tank for another rather than to try to keep track of which coil goes with which flavor. This leads to one of the main things we try to stress to all new vapers: get back ups. Then, get back ups of your back ups. You can never have too many. If you're going to go the change coil thing, I would put the coil into a small cup of vodka. That will take out most of the flavor of the previous e-liquid.
  4. What you're going through is more like tongue fatigue. After vaping one flavor for a while you lose the ability to taste it. That's when you change off to a different flavor that's totally different. For example, you vape a baker flavor (apple pie), after awhile you can't taste it anymore. You change to something with mint in it. When you can't taste that, you go to a heavy fruit flavor. You keep rotating through a couple of different flavors to keep your taste buds working. Since you're just starting to vape, your taste buds are all wonky from smoking. They will get better with some time. In the mean time you can take some fresh ground coffee and take a few sniffs (just smelling it). That usually helps to "cleanse the palate." Or, it could be your juice and some different flavor or something from a different company might better suit your needs.
  5. If your resistance is at .5 ohms, then I would suggest a higher VG juice like a 40 PG/60 VG or higher. Also, go down on the nic even more than you have. At higher temperatures, you're going to get more nic out of your juice. I'd go at least a 6 mg or so. You'll know when you're getting too much nicotine, you may get dizzy, a little light headed, a slight headache forming.... All you need to do is to stop vaping for a bit and you'll be fine. In case no one told you, vaping dehydrates you so be sure to drink more water (not coffee, tea, juice or soda), just plain water. It's also good for flushing your body of the toxins from smoking cigarettes.
  6. If you could give us some more information, it would be easier for us to help you. What's the PG/VG ratio of your juice? That could make a difference in how hard a throat hit you're getting (harsh vape). More PG = more throat hit. More VG = smoother vape but thicker juice and gunks up coils faster. What battery/mod are you using? What tank or RBA/RDA/RTA are you using? If you're using pre-built coils, what resistance are they? Also, try starting at the lowest (or lower) power setting. Vape. If it's not doing it for you, then turn it up just a touch. Vape. Repeat until you get a harsh vape or a slight burnt taste. Back it down a notch. That's the sweet spot for that juice/coil/tank combination. Each different juice or variation in coil resistance or different tank will need a different setting for best performance.
  7. Lol! And I'm just the opposite, I prefer the battery built in. That's the lovely thing about vaping... everyone has their own favorite. Whatever works and what you like is what's important.
  8. Welcome to Vapor Talk and thank you for your service.
  9. If you can't let go of the analogs, I would say that your nic level isn't high enough to satisfy your cravings. When I first started I went with 24 mg of nic (smoked a pack of Marlboro Lights per day). That's what got me off of smoking. Once I had it under control and hadn't had a cigarette for nearly a year, that's when I started lowering the nic level a little at a time.
  10. From what I found this does not have variable wattage, it operates at a standard battery at 4 volts.
  11. Might try going over to GearBest and put in Dovpo in their search engine. None of the places I usually go for hardware have any of them available.
  12. Dovpo has a good reputation for being a good mod from what I've heard. Since I don't have anything from this brand, I really can't say more than I've not heard anything about problems with their mods. Eleaf makes the iSticks. I have experience with these. Don't even bother with the 20W, it's nothing but problems and not worth the money. I've heard they fixed the problems encountered with the 20W in the 30W version. I prefer the 50W personally, I have six in rotation that I use daily. There have been a few problems reported on these such but I've never encountered any. As long as I keep the connection clean and free of liquid, take the tank off and turn the unit off to charge, everything has worked perfectly for me. The convenience in an encased battery, long battery life (4400 mAh), and versatility are things that I especially like about these. Add some wraps and I'm in love. Eleaf iStick 40W has temperature control like the Pegasus if you want to go that route.
  13. Just ordered a 5-pack of Vaporesso Ceramic cCELL Replacement Coils from Heaven Gifts, but these were preorders. Saw on a PBusardo video of the Vaporesso about these coils and he said they're usable in the Triton so I'm curious and want to give a ceramic coil a try.
  14. What they said. ^^^^ Just because you can doesn't mean you have to. Vape it at whatever temperature/power level that works best for you. It's always a good idea to start low, vape, turn it up, vape, repeat until you get a slightly harsh vape or a slight burnt taste. Turn it down a notch and that will be the sweet spot for that juice/tank/coil combination.
  15. From what I've seen lately, all the new mods that are coming out are the ones where the batteries are removable. Like you, I prefer the battery enclosed, it's so much more convenient for me. Then, with all the different wraps...
  16. Does it matter if the battery is enclosed or removable? Right now I have six iStick 50W in rotation and none of them have given me problems like you describe. Maybe you just got a bad one? I know there have been reports of major problems with these by others. Quality assurance needs to be upgraded.
  17. All the subohm tanks suck juice, but as long as it works for you... that's all that matters.
  18. Welcome back! Good to have you vaping again.
  19. If you're going to post a review, please post the review here and not just post a link to it.
  20. Late to the party, but when I have juice that's too thick, I fill tank almost full, add a couple of drops of distilled water and shake to mix. That way I don't screw up the whole bottle and it thins the juice just a bit. Add more juice or more water as needed.
  21. How interesting, Jason! Yes, the lettering is in white against an almost white background, which is why it's so hard to read. @Christopher Is this an easy fix?
  22. Couldn't find the quote you were asking about so I'm not quite sure what the context was. I believe the "banner" I was talking about is the black box that says, "I've been smoke free for..." And nope, you don't sound like an idiot. It's good to ask questions. How else are you going to learn?
  23. Glad you liked it, it's been my favorite for years now. Give it a week or two and the flavor should knock your socks off... if it lasts that long.
  24. Earthling gave you some great recommendations: "I would suggest simple to get you started... A Kanger ProTank 2, Kanger Aerotank V2, Nautilus, Nautilus Mini, or AnyVape Davide. Coils are cheap for these, and they WORK! As for a battery device... simple is best, so I would suggest an iStick 50W, not for the power, but for the longevity of the battery." So, I'll narrow it down for you. My recommendation would be an Eleaf iStick 50W for a battery. It's simple enough for a "super noob" but has enough power to keep you from having to upgrade too soon. It should last you some time. There is a 4400 mAh battery that is enclosed inside and not removable, you just plug it in to recharge. I would buy at least two to get started. One can be charging while you vape on the other. Because the battery is so large, it's going to take five hours or more to go from dead to completely recharged. The kit comes with the charging cord, AC adapter, and 510 to eGo adapter. As for the tanks Earthling rec'd for you, I'd go with the Kanger Aerotank V2. This tank is pretty easy to use, has some adjustments for airflow and you can use either a dual coil (more expensive) or a single coil (much cheaper and in my opinion, performs just as well as a dual coil at a fraction of the price). Get at least two if not more of these. Now, I'm going to give you the "lecture" about having back ups. You want to make sure to have back ups and back ups of your back ups. Seriously. The last thing you want to have happen is for something to go wrong and you have nothing else to turn to other than another pack of smokes or, in your case, another can of chew. Many noobs (not even super noobs ) don't take us seriously about the back ups... until something goes wrong and they're having to do without until a replacement comes in the mail. I've gone through four batteries, two tanks and several coils one time when I was out and about. One thing went wrong after another. Thankfully I had enough back ups with me to get me through until I got home. You can never have too many...
