  1. Hi Blair. As I tell all non-smokers who are interested in vaping... not all long term studies have been done to assess whether vaping is completely safe or not. I would strongly suggest vaping for a smoker trying to quit, but for a non-smoker? My suggestion would be to not start vaping, but find something else that would interest you with possibly less chance of harming your health. Just my two cents.
  2. Very pretty! Congrats on your new set up.
  3. Did you mean an Ego AIO and not Egoa10? In any case you didn't mention filling the tank with eliquid. If you did, how long did you let the new coil sit after placing the liquid into the tank? It needs to be sitting in the liquid/tank for a few minutes to let the filler material get saturated first. We call it "vapor" and not "smoke". If you see smoke coming out, that means something is burning.
  4. Well... you are on the Vapor Talk forum, which is also connected to the Vapor Talk store. The Amethyst is their new line of pod based vape sticks. You can find them here: https://www.vaportalk.com/us/shop/the-amethyst/ You get the battery part, four different flavors of pods, a USB attachment for charging and voila! The pods contain nic salts, which are very smooth but fairly high in nicotine so you take a few hits and satisfy your craving. You don't have to keep hitting it. I love these for being very discrete, it's small, slim, and easy to use (pop a pod in and vape - no buttons to push, no settings, just vape). The bottom part of the pods do leak a bit, but every time I change pods or take the pod out to charge, I swab the inside with a Q-tip and it's good to go. I got hooked on the Fruit Fusion flavor. In full disclosure, though, some of the pods leak more than others. Depending on how much you vape, the pods only hold less than 1 ml of liquid so you go through it pretty quickly. The replacement pods can be purchased for 4 for around $11 dollars or so plus shipping. If your sister can handle refilling a pod, I'm really enjoying the GhoSTick. It's pretty similar to the Amethyst but the battery's a little longer (longer battery life), the pods are refillable (they don't come prefilled, you have to buy your own eliquid), it charges with a micro-USB cord. These pods hold 2 mls of eliquid.
  5. If you change your settings from TC to watts, you might get a better vape from your mod and tank. I'd start around 20 watts and take a puff. If that's not doing it for you, go up a few watts and try again until you get a harsh vape or a slight burnt taste. Back it down a touch and you should have your sweet spot for that coil. Just a thought.
  6. Another thing you could try is to thin out your new eliquid. In your original post you said you used the 60VG/40PG with no problems. Your new juice is 70/30. If you can get some regular PG, I would take a little of the 70/30 juice and put it in a separate bottle to experiment so you don't screw up your whole bottle. If you don't have access to plain PG, get some distilled water (don't use tap), and add a few drops to 1 ml of eliquid and mix well. Then, try to vape to see if you're still getting dry hits. If so, add another few drops of distilled water to your eliquid and try again. I've done this with some of the old set ups when I first started vaping, it works well but you have to do it only a few drops at a time or you risk getting watery eliquid you can't fix or vape.
  7. What kind of tank are you using this on? What resistance coil? Is it a premade coil or an RDA? If it's premade, did you prime the coil/wick before vaping?
  8. What mg of nicotine are you using? Also, what's the PG/VG and flavor ratio?
  9. At the very least I hope they can nail him for theft across state lines.
  10. My vote would go to the batteries. Bad batteries can also affect how your coils act.
  11. First, I would like to say to you that, if you are not a smoker, I would not recommend anyone to start vaping. While we believe that vaping is a safer alternative to smoking combustible cigarettes, there are no long term studies to show it is totally safe. Why did you want to start vaping in the first place? You never said what you are using to vape the 0 nic eliquid. Eliquid in general tends to have a dehydrating effect. We always recommend increasing your intake of plain water - not juice or soda or coffee or tea - just plain water. If I were you, I would look for something different to start and leave vaping to those who are trying to get off cigarettes. Just my opinion.
  12. Sorry you got burned so bad, @MRSpivey What can the FB Vape Court do for you other than to ban this guy?
  13. If you're still smoking cigarettes and vaping along side, then 3 mg of nic in eliquid probably is too low. I would go up to a 6 mg, if I were you. The Baby Beast drinks eliquid, which is why you're going through so much of it. If you're also vaping a lot at 3 mg, you'll go through that much more in order to satisfy your nicotine cravings.
  14. It's also unusual that a new forum member names himself/herself with the name of the eliquid vendor and posts the link to their site and then complains about their service. Please do not spam the forum with spammy links or you'll find your account banned. If you have a legitimate post, you're more than welcome on the forum. Thank you for your cooperation.
  15. Holy cow, Jack! You should only post about your issue ONCE and then wait for a reply. Please do not spam the forum by posting the same thing multiple times in different topic areas. Thank you.
  16. For me, the SMOK Infinix is a good stick "pod" system. I like that it has a side fill and refill option. The thing I'm not crazy about is that juice will get into your mouth if you suck just a little too hard, but it's good otherwise. It's between the GhoSTick and the Infinix so far. Both are refillable, the coils seem to last -- I'm still on the first pod without having burned it out just yet.
  17. Don't know if syrup is safe to vape or not, but personally, I wouldn't chance it. Use it for your pancakes instead and go get a vanilla flavoring that's most commonly used for vaping to be safe. You also left off the "e" in "cane." LOL
  18. Not all pods require salt nic, some refillables can take lower nic, just make sure you use 50/50 juice. I'm using the SMOK Infinix with 3 mg regular nic and am perfectly happy.
  19. With the refillable pods, since they have 1.0 - 1.2 ohm coils in them, you really don't have to increase the nic if you don't want to. Just sayin'.
  20. For me, I wanted anything that wasn't cigarette flavored but would supply the nic I wanted/needed. Then, the race was on to find the all day vape flavor. After that, I was looking for performance in way of vapor production and longevity of battery. These days I'm using the Eleaf iPower 80W TC with the Aspire Triton 2 with a 1.8 ohm coil, 3 mg nic, and vaping like a train. This is why I want to find a good pod system that's lightweight, easy to conceal and carry, gives me the nic and vapor to satisfy and not vape as much.
  21. I'm interested in what you find while you experiment. You'll have to report back when you find something good.
  22. Salt nic is fairly new and I'm not sure what the heck they are other than they're high nic, most are in the 35 mg range, but that keeps me from chain vaping and it doesn't offer a harsh vape. Yeah, the years fly by don't they? I'm happy to see you're already at the 5 year mark. Next month I'll be at 6 years... wow. Never thought I'd be off cigarettes for this long. Good to hear you're doing well. I hope to see you around a little more often, I've missed spending your money.
  23. You rang? First, congrats on your five year mark. I remember when you first came on to this forum... you've been missed lately. I've been trying the pods lately. Like you, I'm tired of lugging around a fist sized brick although I do still use them at home. The first pod I've tried is Vapor Talk's Amethyst with the nic salt pods. I'm in love with the size, it's perfect for stealth vaping and so easy and light to carry around. The mixed berry flavor is amazing (the kit comes with four pods - menthol, tobacco, mango and mixed berries). That said, it's small -- something like a 250 mAh? and the pods are small so they don't last long. I could live with that - to a point, but the major downside to it is that many of the pods leak ( @Christopher said they can be refilled but Vapor Talk doesn't sell the liquid by itself, you have to buy the pods). When it leaks enough to get into the battery part, the battery stops working. Chris is aware and said they're working on it but for now, the leaking pods being so expensive ($12.99 for a 4-pack), it's not my favorite although it easily could be if they fix the leak and sell liquid by itself. Bought the SV MiPod, it's a little square thing with a refillable 1 ml pod. You can refill 5 - 7 times before the coil goes out. Of course, if you're using sweeter, darker juices... you know the drill. While it's cute, I'm very disappointed in the little button (five clicks on/off), it never turns off and the vapor is hot. I've burned my lips a couple times already despite changing out the pods -- of course I bought extras! This one is a no for me. The GhoSTick is another pen style refillable pod system. The pod holds 1.5 mls of liquid, 2.0 ohm coil, 350 mAh battery and comes with the charge cord and two empty pods. All the pods take a minimum 50/50 juice. Any more VG and the coil burns up faster, too much PG and the pods leak, which is what I think is the problem with the Amethyst pods, it's too high in PG. Anyway, this is the winner so far for me. It's got refillable pods, it's a little longer than I'd like, the Amethyst's length is perfect but you give up battery life for shortness. I've been using this one a lot lately and have bought some of my favorite juices in 50/50 at 12 mg regular nic (higher nic so I don't vape it as much). I have a SMOK Infinix on its way with some extra empty pods, they should be here tomorrow. It's very similar to the Amethyst so we'll have to see how that one works. If I were to recommend one of the ones I've tried, so far I'd say try the GhoSTick and mix some juice to 50/50 and give it a whirl.
  24. In my experience, some fruit mixes that start out smelling perfumy need to sit for a bit to let it settle down. Most creams, like @VapeMama said, need to sit awhile as do many of the bakery flavors.
  25. Not all pods use the nic salts, it depends on the brand. Some of the newer pods like the GhoStick have a 1.0 ohm coil and you can refill the pods with the juice of your choice. Same goes for Smok's Infinix, it has a 1.4 ohm coil inside the pods so you'll want to use a 50PG/50VG juice at a "normal" nic level such as a 12 mg or 18 mg depending on what you prefer instead of going the lower nic (3 mg or 6 mg) like you would in a sub-ohm set up.
