There's a ton of articles from the UK and other sites like Natural News that you can use to help convince people.
Sometimes just giving them the gear with a bunch of different flavors to try does it. For My son and his wife, I got them both Joyetech ego AIO's and an extra box of coils and about 15 different flavors and put them in stockings for Christmas. In their card I linked to different youtube videos that explained how to work them. Then I left it alone and didn't say a word until they called to say they tried it and enjoyed it..So I told them when they've been off analogs for 3 months I'd buy them the gear to upgrade if they wanted...It worked
Sometimes inaction is the best action....

Your posts are refreshing...Yep, I was there just 7 months ago and I still share your enthusiasm ....watch out or you'll wind up buying vape gear for everyone you know who still smokes analogs to get them to share your success . So far I've converted both of my sons, my daughter in law and a couple of neighbors and currently I'm working on my sisters boyfriend   LOL
    Congratulations on your vape-a-versary

When I first started vaping, I would burn through a meager 2-3ml per day using a basic Kanger tank (KPT2 or KPT3-mini).  The dual coil burned a tiny bit more juice, but I quickly grew to love the flavor of the dual-coil.  As I have progressed, I've gone from 1.8-2.2 Ohm coils... down to 0.1 Ohm quad-builds... and today I'm perfectly happy with my Subtank Mini using a 1.2 Ohm coil at 15-18W.  I still burn through about 30ml per week which is not much more than I did when I first started vaping, but when I was sub-ohming, dripping, and experimenting with coils... that is when I started making my own juices... because I was ripping through 90-120ml per week, and at $15-18 per 30ml bottle... that was getting too expensive... cigarette expensive

Today is an anniversary of sorts.  One month vaping with two weeks analog free.  Cravings are few and far between.  Easy to dismiss as the memory of all the problems with that habit are still fresh.  I have learned a lot in the last month.  Greatly due to you folks here.  It's hard to imagine myself as an analog user as my thoughts have shifted to the next flavor, mod, etc. I would like to try.  The frequency of epiphanies are slowing down as well.  I have also discovered that I am rather proud of my new habit, to the point of being eager to show off my equipment.   That sounded lewd, lol, but you folks know what I mean.

Another consideration is battery life.  The lower the resistance the greater the current flow.  In an evening of blowing clouds vaping under .5ohm, I can go through an 18650 pretty fast.  Good to have another battery on the charger.  When I'm out and about this is a consideration.

You bring up a great point and something that is so frustrating for vendors. If a customer comes into the store and mentions that their hardware is warm or acting up, we are literally not allowed to assist/asses/ help with the situation. Which is mind numbly stupid.
One the vendors we work with close by is undergoing a lawsuit at the moment because a user stacked their batteries.  Something you should never, ever do. Almost every vendor mentions this as well. And while this particular vendor is not at fault, he still has to fork out the cost of proving himself not liable.

oh,it's me,*again* i picked up the emus from the regulation sale, and a five pack of coils for it.I couldn't resist,it was shiny!plus the fact I'm sick to death of toting full set ups and the price was right, now I have something I can put in one case and go,to my various doctor's appointments, dates (yes it's a jungle out there !!) and squeeze into a small place and be very discreet if I need to.I can run high nic on a 2.5 coil,so I will get my fix pretty fast, not so worried about the small battery, after all I do have multiple power banks I keep charged anyway;)

Late to chime in on this, but one of the least confusing ways to think about it that I have come across is the water pipe analogy.  In this analogy you need think of the following:
Say you have two pipes, one of them a .5 inch pipe and the other is a 1.5 inch pipe.  Now say you have 100 gallons of water and you want to push 50 gallons of water through each pipe in exactly the same amount of time.  For sake of argument, we'll say that amount of time is 10 seconds.  With the smaller diameter of the .5 inch pipe it is going to take a lot more pressure to get the water through that pipe than it would through the 1.5 inch pipe.  The same principle applies to coils.  The .5 ohm coil requires a higher wattage to reach the same temperature than the 1.5 ohm coil.
That is a very basic analogy and there is much more to it, but the main point of the analogy is to explain why a coil of a lower rating requires more power to function in a similar manner as a coil of a higher rating.

I realize this is information that is not necessary for vaping, but it's just bugging me.
I have one tank that has an element which offers .5 ohms of resistance and it vaporizes my favorite juice @ 32 watts dissipated. Another tank is at 1.5 ohms and does a similar job at 9 watts. Watts = I2R. Current through a coil produces heat. The current in the first tank should produce much greater heat than the second.
What am I missing? Different coil metals used with different coefficients of heat per current conducted?
I'm confused. It seems as if a sub ohm coil should require much less wattage to produce the same heat as a coil greater than an ohm.

Good point... and you can also score some freebies from your local Health Dept.  Thanks to the don't-ask-don't-tell drug-guidelines, if you ask for some, they have to give them to you.  Yes, they are usually just a bag full of 1ml syringes (and paperwork for rehab locations, etc.).  You can keep the standard needles and grind them down, or do what I do and leave them with the receptionist   And, if you know someone who works there, you can get them to toss in some additional sizes too, especially if you let them know you are using them to measure liquids accurately (and not get high)

I have come to believe I like subtle flavors.  That is only based on one experience where I picked up a bottle that was overwhelming.  The flavors I like so far are:  Mr. e-juice Pink Lady, Cyclone Dis Dat Ish, VTMN Island, and Miss Michigan Apple.  All of these are subtle in flavor to me with a little sweet after taste.  I'll keep pokin around and see if I can get a handle on all this.  Kriticalmass.com sounds like a great starting point!

    That will work
Kriticalmass.com has some great information but just remember that taste is subjective and what might taste good to me might not taste good to you. There are a couple of places that sell "kits" to begin learning to DYI and starting small is best until you figure out what you like.
It's a lot of fun to DYI

I found that my local (livestock) feed store carries larger size syringes (20/50ml) and they work better than the 10ml for VG. They're sterile and perfect  size for DYI ejuice. Earthling is 100% right that it would be a bugger to get straight VG thru that small a needle. I just pull out the plunger and pour the VG into the syringe to the measurement I need then put the plunger back and push it into the bottle. Works like a charm and makes measuring easy
Basically I use 3 syringes for a 30/60ml bottle of juice.... for larger amounts I use graduated pyrex beakers as a rule though.
    1ml (for nicotine)
    10 or 20ml for flavors
    20 or 50ml for VG

14ga is fine for most things, but you will find pure VG will be a little rough through them.  For pure VG, I prefer NOT using a needle, but if I have to, I try to stick to 10ga or even larger.
For flavors or pure PG, you may even find 16ga or 18ga to be sufficient (for less dripping or drops slipping through).

There's an old joke that "Wind-chill" was invented by a meteorologist that also smoked...  The dialogue went something like this:
Meteorologist:  "I'm going out for a smoke"
Producer:  "It's cold out, better bundle up... the thermometer says 10-F"
Meteorologist:  [Jokingly]  "I think I'll strip down to my underwear and see how cold it 'feels"... that will give people a better idea on the effect of wind on your skin" [strips and goes outside to smoke]
Producer:  [after a couple minutes - pokes head out  the door]  "So, what's it feel like?"
    Meteorologist:  "F-F-F-F-Feels more like t-t-t-t-two"
Producer:  "You better come in before you catch pneumonia"
    Meteorologist:  "I w-w-w-w-ill ... in a m-m-m-m-moment... gotta f-f-f-f-finish t-t-t-this cigarette...."

This morning I realized that things are changing fast.  First thing in the morning I vape my little ego or nautilous mouth to lung to get some nicotine in the system.  That is no longer satisfying.  I want that wonderful direct to lung vape with the airflow wide open.  How relaxing!  So nice!
