  1. I was about to call ******** on the story, but then I read this. And you know what? Even if it happened the way he said it did, that's still no reason to demand the FDA nanny the rest of us... If someone overdoses on something, that's his own stupid fault. I don't mean to be rude about it, but that's the truth. Why should the rest of us suffer for one person's stupidity?
  2. I just wanna say... It's not about making sure there's absolutely no risk. The lower the risk, the better, for sure... But whether or not vaping is 100% safe is completely irrelevant because we KNOW cigarettes are absolutely, 100% NOT safe, and people are still allowed to smoke. Also, I wanna point out that I think people should have the freedom to do whatever the hell they want to their own bodies and lives.
  3. Technically, it's 306, but 306 and 510 are the same thing. But just so you know, lorillard, the company who owns newport, now owns Blu. You may want to keep in mind the fact that by buying blu, you're supporting big tobacco.
  4. Hey mega, do you still build mods? I REALLY REALLY REALLY want an NES controller mod. I was supposed to get one from josh jolly back in the day, but that all fell apart. Is there any chance you could build one of these for me? USB passthru would be fine with me, but it would be much better if it could have at least some battery. The best option would be to make it like an ego passthru.
  5. have you had anymore issues with this mod? How are the threads holding up? I'm interested in picking one of these up, but I keep reading about threading and switch issues. It's only about $20 depending on where I get it, but I don't wanna waste my money.
  6. It's an 18650 mod made by Joye in the style of an ego. http://www.ecigsupply.com/JoyeTech-18650-MOD_p_582.html has anybody tried this? At $20, it seems like a GREAT place for people to start, period(although most start wanting a cigarette sized device), but definitely a great starter for someone looking to get into mods.
  7. Is it really all that difficult to understand why? The people who run this world don't give a rat's *** about us beyond our ability to make money for them and keep them in power.
  8. Yes, I feel the same way. I get my 100% VG juice from www.vaporrenu.com. Their prices, selection, and customer service are excellent. They have an assload of flavors to choose from, and you can choose your level of throat hit and flavor intensity. They'll even put caffeine and certain nutritional supplements in your juice if you want them to. If there's a flavor you want, but they don't have it, send them an e-mail, and they'll add it to the list for you. They ONLY sell 30ml bottles of juice, but those 30ml bottles only cost about $7.50(cost varies depending on specific flavor chosen and other options). My original reason for disliking PG was that I apparently got some bad PG juice(not sure what was wrong with it, but it made me sick to my stomach when I vaped it, and I thought the PG was the problem). Now I'm back to mostly PG juice because I'm sick of dripping, and my VG juices don't work in my 510 tank. I do notice a bit of an aftertaste now, but it hasn't bothered me much. You can't go wrong VapeRite either, but their prices are too much for me. Vapor Renu is my absolute favorite juice vendor. They just make the juice exactly how I love it.
  9. You can also get M400 series parts at www.mypvshop.com. I just discovered, they're discontinuing that series of e-cig, so they're priced rather low. They're trying to clear them out.
  10. I'd recommend a Riva 510 lite Bundle from www.liberty-flights.com. After the 20% discount(there's a button on the top of the page), the kit costs like $30-$35(An Ego will cost you at least $60). The Riva is essentially the same thing as an Ego, but it has slightly longer battery life. It's a really good place to start. I would also like to recommend the Megalodon(or just Don for short) from www.electronicstix.com. It's about 100 bucks, but it's incredibly versatile. Once you get into vaping and start learning more about it, you'll probably want to try different voltages. The Megalodon accepts various different battery types, which allows for changing voltages without having to buy multiple mods or spend a ton of money on a variable voltage mod(I haven't looked in a while, but last time I checked, the variable voltage mods were quite a bit more expensive than the Don). And, if you use a standard 3.7 volt battery at 2400mah, it'll last several days to a week, possibly even longer, depending on how much you use it.
  11. I can't say for sure without seeing the threads, but it looks exactly like a lot of others I've seen, including one my mom's friend had, which I determined was a 401. She bought extra 401 batteries and atties, and they worked with what she already had. I never bothered to find out if the 401 has the same threads as a 510, but reversed gender, though, so it could be something else entirely.
  12. I still smoke, but nowhere near as much as I used to. Some days I don't smoke at all, some days I'll have one, some days I'll smoke 5-10... It all depends on what's going on in my life. Cigarettes seem to be better at relieving stress than e-cigarettes. I've never really... craved cigarettes, to be honest, except maybe when I'm stressed. I've always just enjoyed smoking and the feeling i get from the nicotine.
  13. I mostly use my megalodon. It's not technically a manual battery, but it is a manual device. I still use my blu/volcano batteries and atties/cartos every now and then, though, so I use both. I'm predominantly manual.
  14. I've been told in a wal mart that smoking wasn't allowed once when I was vaping on my blu inside, and I saw some old couple get very upset and tell a waitress in a diner I was smoking, only to have her look at my table with a puzzled facial expression(there was no smoke, no smell of smoke, and I put my PV away before she could see or say anything). Other than that, I don't really get much attention. Some people give me weird looks, but if anyone ever says anything, it's usually "what the hell is that thing?" They tell me it looks like some sort of drug pipe, to which I usually reply, "What drug pipe do you know of with a button? And where would the drugs go?" I only really carry my megalodon with me anymore. I can understand them being confused about what it is, but a drug pipe? These people must not be too familiar with drugs or what a pipe looks like... I've had a few friends tell me it looks like a dildo too, which I thought was kinda funny(and more accurate of a description than a drug pipe, really). Most people seem to know what e-cigs are now, and they understand once I tell them, but they never know that my megalodon is an e-cig in the first place. Also, they always say, "I've never seen one like that."
  15. I just drip because I've found cartos and cartridges too much of a pain in the *** to deal with. I tried(very briefly) an ego tank at a friend's house, and now I'm strongly considering getting a 510 tank atty and some tanks. I no longer have my ego or riva, only my Megalodon, my 510, and my blu/volcano, so ego tank isn't an option. What I want to do is use the 510 tank on my Megalodon so I don't have to drip anymore(especially while driving, that's the biggest issue). I can't seem to get a cartomizer to not leak, plus the vapor and flavor suck, and with cartridges, I find myself adding drops almost as often as I need to drip. Plus I tend to overfill them. And the flavor, while it's a little better than with a carto, still sucks.
  16. He might be referring to cartomizers as carts since quite a few places are doing that now too
  17. You can get it with a 901 or a 510 connection. The version I have does not have the ability to use ego tanks, but I know nothing about any other kind of tank, and I haven't even used an ego tank. I just know they won't fit on this version of the don. But, according to his site, there is a newer version that does work with ego tanks.
  18. Just stay away from processed prepackaged food as much as possible, and you should be fine.
  19. Alright, cool. I live like right in the middle between Shippensburg and Carlisle.
  20. LOL, well one lives really close to george street. I forget exactly what street it was on, but I remember taking george street to get to her house. Anyway, I don't really expect to have everyone move the meeting place for me, I just don't wanna run into her again.
  21. Awww, damn, I just saw this now... I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway, as I had to work last night, and I think York is kinda far for me, but I'd really like to attend some kind of meet-up. I'd prefer a location not quite so close to one of my ex girlfriends though, if at all possible.
  22. I found this part kind of funny... "The new ban does not cover offices. Employers will now have to warn their staff about the dangers of smoking, but they cannot stop them."
  23. Oh, I'm very familiar with Mr. Reagan's crap, and it's one of the reasons I hate him and don't understand why so many people considered him great. I've heard that the head of the FDA at the time actually refused to approve it, so Reagan had him fired and replaced with someone who would approve it. I don't know how much of that is true, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. This whole thing stinks, and I can't understand for the life of me why ANYONE would want regulation. I mean yeah, I get it to a point. Standards of cleanliness are good, as are ingredient lists, and making sure we're getting what we're paying for, but to think for one second that the FDA will do anything at all to protect us is just plain absurd. And I have yet to be ripped off by any vendor. Prices are reasonable, and I'm pretty much always satisfied. The FDA will not do this industry any good whatsoever, only make everything more expensive, or possibly even ensure that the juice IS bad. They allow fluoride, an industrial poisonous waste, into our water. They allow monosodium glutamate and aspartame, and only god knows what else into our food. Do you realize there is actually an acceptable level of RAT FECES in food? Yes, that's right. Things were certainly much worse before there was any regulation, but now we've come full circle, and the agencies that were originally put in place to protect us no longer do that. Instead, they protect whoever can shove the largest wad of cash in their pockets, and every single facet of this government works the same way. It's not about ignorance or being un, or even mis-informed. It's all about money. It's certainly better that these are going to be regulated as tobacco products and not drug devices because it means they'll still be around and available without a prescription, but it doesn't change the fact that regulation, especially by the FDA, sucks and will not be helpful one bit.
