  1. Again, welcome to vapor talk. I know you said you wanted something that's similar in size to a cigarette, but as snubb mentioned, the ones that are like that don't have very good battery life. Your best bet is an ego or riva. Either one will last you a minimum of like 5 hours before needing recharged. Mine lasts all week using it at work and to and from work before it needs recharged. I have both the ego and the riva. I prefer the riva for its button. It's made of rubber, and the ego button is made of plastic. The plastic button on the ego gets stuck sometimes. Also, you said you're looking for something relatively cheap. The Riva is about half the price of an Ego, and in some cases, even a little cheaper than the 510. I know next to nothing about the KR808 besides the fact that it's a 2-piece design, meaning it uses cartomizers(an atomizer - the part that heats the liquid - and cartridge - the part that contains the filler and holds the juice - combined in one piece). Cartomizers tend to be more convenient than cartridges, but they are disposable and don't last as long as atomizers(they're also cheaper than atomizers). A 510 kit will cost you about $40. An Ego kit will cost you like $70 - $80, and you can get a Riva kit for $37.49 at www.liberty-flights.com. Neither of these come with PCCs(portable charger case, which is a cigarette-pack shaped portable battery charger. They also make some of them to look like an clamshell-style cigarette case). If you get a 510 or a KR808, you'll definitely want a PCC, which will cost you another $15-$20. The Riva/Ego practically eliminates the need for a PCC unless you plan on being stuck in the wilderness with no electricity. The Ego/Riva looks nothing like a cigarette(I say it looks more like a kazoo, sort of), and it's about the thickness of a cigar. You might not realize it now, but trust me, it's worth it. You will be much better off and much less frustrated when you don't have to change your battery every couple hours.
  2. Don't bother with the 510 unless for some reason you feel you absolutely NEED it to be about the size of a regular cigarette. You might not think so now, but you definitely will want manual batteries, so it's still not gonna feel like a real cigarette in your hand. Automatic batteries get activated by dropping them, loud noises, wind, etc. Plus you can flood the atomizer by putting in too much liquid, then liquid seeps into the hole in the battery and the battery stops working. With manual batteries, they are only activated when the button is pressed, and there is no hole for juice to get into. So you can overfill all you want and not worry about destroying your batteries. Just go right with an Ego/Riva. Allow me to recommend the Riva. It's essentially the same thing as an ego, just very slight differences. It has a larger standard capacity battery than the Ego.(Riva is 750 mah, ego is 600 or 650 mah). It has a rubber translucent button instead of a plastic one. The plastic ego button sometimes gets stuck when you push it in. It's no big deal, but it's an inconvenience for me. The band on which the button sits is recessed on the ego, while on the riva the band is flush with the rest of the battery. And finally, the ego will cost you at least 60 or 70 dollars, if not more, but you can get a Riva for as low as $40. I own both, and I prefer my Riva. You might feel a bit awkward with the large size of the ego/riva, but trust me, you'll be happy you got one instead of a 510. A 510 battery will last maybe 2-3 hours, depending on how often you use it. By comparison, I use my Riva on my way to and from work every day, as well as while I'm at work, but not at home(i have an ego passthru for at home). It lasted me from Monday morning all the way until about 10 PM on Friday. You will greatly appreciate the battery life of the ego/riva. The cheapest you'll find a 510 kit for is about $40. The cheapest you'll find an Ego kit for is about $70, and the cheapest you'll find a Riva kit for is about $40. I say go with the Riva, and here's where to get it: http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=55 scroll about halfway down the page until you see "Riva 510 - Lite Bundle." The price for a kit is $37.49.
  3. Yeah, I know, but that still seems steep to me for just one atomizer. I mean, a regular 510 atty is like 6 bucks, and a riva kit is 30 or 40. I guess if it lasts a long time and works well it's worth it. It just seems like a lot just for an atty. That's just under half of what you pay for the whole kit. It's probably my Pennsylvania Dutch instinct kicking in. I'm definitely gonna buy one as soon as I can to give it a try, I just wish I could get it cheaper than that especially since I'm gonna have to buy carts for it too for another 7 or 8 bucks. Don't mind me, I'm just a cheapskate.
  4. Does anybody know if there are any other suppliers selling this yet? I have no problem with TW, but holy crap, 16.99 for a single atty, that seems like a lot to me.
  5. It has a cherry flavor that kinda reminds me of chocolate covered cherries, but it's subtle. It's not like cherry candy or cough syrup, and it's not very intense of a flavor. I don't know if it's supposed to be a mix of cherry and tobacco or not. I'm not really sure how else to describe it, you'd just kinda have to try it. I wouldn't even know where to start.
  6. I don't know how many responses I'm gonna get on this one, but for those of you who have tried Blu's Cherry Crush, do you know of a good substitute that tastes really close to that? That's the only juice my girlfriend really liked, and she hasn't vaped since we ran out of blu carts. I can't find it in bottles anywhere, and Blu carts are a ripoff.
  7. Yeah, I know, I was just pointing out that watching it was annoying and headache-inducing.
  8. you know, as much as I hate when people can't just do their own thing and have to follow what everybody else does or what their favorite celebrity does, I'm all for this... Not necessarily these particular celebrities that we're talking about at the moment, but the more well known people who get into it, the more people we have to help spread the word, making them more popular, and increasing the opposition to having them banned/seized. Public awareness is what we need, but we also need the public to view these things in a positive light. As it stands right now, there are quite a few people out there who view us like crackheads just continuing our "terrible" addiction, some that thing this is just as bad as smoking, and some who think it's worse(for us and for everybody else near the vapor). For some reason people care more when celebrities are involved, so the more of this we can get, the better. GO CELEBRITY VAPERS!!!! EDIT: Okay, we definitely don't need celebrities vaping while engaging in "this is why I'm better than you" typical female drama arguments... Holy crap, how can anybody watch that garbage? It's like being back in highschool, but worse cuz there's only women, and they don't shut up.
  9. ... When will this crap end? This just further proves that the government/FDA has absolutely NO interest in our health whatsoever. Oh, and the way I see it, if they take away flavors on the basis that it's being advertised as kids simply because fruity/candy flavors are attractive to kids(obviously they are to adults to, or we wouldn't have them...), then I say they can't make alcohol taste like anything good. The same goes for cigars, and what about energy drinks? If nicotine and caffeine have an almost equal effect on your body, then energy drinks should be considered just as dangerous and therefore not be allowed to have sweet or fruity flavors. What about Cigars and blunt wraps? What about That Tasty Puff crap you can put on your cigarettes to make them taste like fruit or candy? This is a big bunch of hogwash. God, I hate the government... This just keeps getting more and more asinine each and every day... Oh, and if these are drug delivery devices, so are a cup of coffee, a can of soda, an energy drink, A CIGARETTE, and a friggin' eggplant.
  10. Yeah, Jolly, it seems to be the same as the zero filler cart mod, but if I'm not mistaken, this holds more juice than a regular 510 cartridge, doesn't it? And according to the video I posted below, this uses a different kind of atomizer. It almost looks like a big fat carto with a juice reservoir(cartridge) stuck on top. What I'd like to know is what keeps this thing from just feeding juice into the atomizer, causing it to overflow and leak juice everywhere.
  11. Oops... My bad, I didn't see that. Feel free to delete this thread.
  12. http://www.ovaleeurope.com/index.html They call it the "ego-T." Check it out. According to the site, they improved the batteries to make it more efficient... probably a bunch of crap, but what I'm interested in is that new type of cartridge that uses no filler. It's like a super T vapemate in a simple little mouthpiece and with no bottle hanging off your e-cig. There isn't a whole lot of information available currently, but I for one am very interested. One thing that has me a bit confused, though, is the fact that you can only click on 4 links at the top of the page. There are plenty of other things you would think you could click on, but most of them aren't links. odd... Here's a video:
  13. I've been vaping for about 4 or 5 months now, and I still smoke. Some days I don't smoke any, some days I smoke as many as 5, but most of the time it's one or two a day. While I realize that these cigarettes I smoke aren't good for me, I also realize that it's a long shot from half a pack or a pack each and every day. Even if one never completely quits smoking, at least that person will smoke a crapload less than what they originally would have, had they not vaped at all in the first place. So take comfort in that, at least. It's not gonna happen overnight, as you already know. Don't be in such a rush. But one bit of advice I can give you, and I don't know of this will work for you for sure or not... But here it goes. When I first started vaping, I noticed that while it definitely made me feel better, it didn't provide exactly what cigarettes do. That's to be expected, and that's a VERY good thing. There are tons of horrible chemicals in cigarettes, and you get addicted to chemicals besides just nicotine. So you're going to feel like you're missing something while vaping. Just vape thru it. You'll be glad that you did. If you're vaping and not feeling completely "satisfied," just keep vaping til you do. If that doesn't happen, then just enjoy the great flavors(assuming you're not vaping tobacco, and even then, maybe it is a great flavor... just not for me), and remember that you're adding years to your life by not giving in and smoking. I know I'm not really the right one to be saying this since I'm still smoking, but I thought maybe it would be helpful. Also, it really helps to not have people around you who smoke and don't have a problem giving them out like candy. I live with my girlfriend who smokes, and while it's definitely not her fault at all, she gives them to me. She wouldn't give them if I didn't ask, so it's still my fault. But I wish she'd vape too. She tried it but doesn't like it and can't explain what about it she doesn't like. But the point is, because they're around, and the person who has them is willing to give them out, it makes it so much easier for me to smoke. I wouldn't go out and buy a pack myself at this point.
  14. Why do we need these to be regulated? So what if they're inconsistent. Then don't buy pre-filled cartridges or cartos. Even if you do, I'm sure Nicotine could kill you in a high enough dose, but long before you get to that point, you'd feel a headache, and if you're too dumb to stop vaping for a while at that point, then you would have done something equally dangerous and stupid eventually anyway. You can't blame an inanimate object for a mistake made by a human being; that's just ridiculous. I'm all for no sales to minors(for the most part), but I don't want any regulations beyond that, with the exception of maybe some sort of quality standards in terms of cleanliness and accuracy of advertised ingredients/required listing of ingredients. The problem, though, that I see with regulating anything beyond no sales to minors is this: It would seem to be a rather large pain in the butt to try and go to every juice maker's place of making said juice to make sure they're doing things "right." My guess is they'll probably require some sort of license, or they'll make it so that only the government or tobacco companies/pharmaceutical companies can make the juice. One way or another, they're gonna try to make this more expensive and give us more hoops to jump thru. I don't want people poisoning each other with bad juice, but I don't want the other extreme either. Some sort of happy medium would be nice, but I figure what we'll get will lie somewhere nearer the latter extreme. I want to clarify something here. As I said, I'm all for not selling e-cigs or juice to minors, for the most part... What I mean by "for the most part" is this: I don't want kids getting addicted to nicotine because of electronic cigarettes, but at the same time, if they're already addicted to analog cigarettes, then I would MUCH rather have them use these instead. And in all honesty, I don't see it as such a big deal if they DO get hooked on nicotine via e-cigs and never touch analogs. That would be much better than smoking the analogs first, right? I don't really see the big deal with it, but I know sales will have to be restricted to adults only, just like analogs. That's okay with me. I just don't want them taking away my flavors or tainting juice to bring the industry down. The FDA contains a lot of crooked people more concerned about money than health.
  15. I got my Riva kit for $36 shipped from www.vapor-ize.com. The Riva is essentially the same thing as the eGo, made by Eastmall. $51 isn't too bad, so you might wanna go with Totally Wicked, specifically because you can get cheap atomizers there. They have 5-packs of 510 atomizers for $30, which comes out to just $6 each. Most sites I've seen charge $9 to $12 for a single atomizer.
  16. Hmm... that might explain why cartridges don't work too well for me either... But when I use PG, I tend to get this sort of sick feeling. It happened with my blu prefilled carts, and it's happening with this menthol juice that came with my Riva kit. I never get it with any of my vapor renu 100% VG. I don't know if I have an allergic reaction to PG or what it is, but it's not very pleasant to me.
  17. I have no idea what "flavor enhancer" is. I only get 100%VG juice, and yes, VG produces more vapor, PG produces more throat hit and supposedly more flavor, but I wouldn't know. Also, vapor renu gives you the option of double and triple shot for the flavor, meaning they add extra flavoring to the juice. I always get double shot. A bit of advice though for vapor renu. I've noticed with my vanilla coke juice I got from them, I really don't taste any vanilla in it at all, and another user on this forum told me that's how all their vanilla juices are, very weak vanilla flavor... so if you must have something with vanilla in it, don't get it there. I don't know why, I guess whatever vanilla flavoring they use just isn't very strong. I highly recommend Bavarian Creme and Chocolate Eclair. Also, Cotton Candy and Pina Colada. Butterscotch is great too, tastes JUST like those generic round butterscotch candies that come in a yellow wrapper. Rootbeer is also a good flavor, but VERY intense. It's intense almost to the point where it burns your throat similarly to a cigarette, but not in a bad way. For those looking to replicate throat hit to help them quit smoking, rootbeer is a good option in my opinion. Eggnog is good, but the nutmeg overpowers the other flavors in it, making it almost taste like chai as opposed to eggnog. Banana Coconut is good, but I'm not a huge fan of banana. Their cola tastes just like cola, just don't get vanilla cuz it won't make a difference. Bubblegum is alright, but not sweet enough in my opinion. It tastes just like this bubblegum mouthwash my orthodontist told me to use when I had braces as a kid, as opposed to actual bubblegum. Also, if there's a flavor you want or you wish to combine several flavors to make a new one, feel free to e-mail Jason, the owner of the site. He takes requests. You'll notice next to some of the flavors(specifically Chocolate Eclair and Caramello) it says "submitted by Magus86 ECF." That's me. There are also submissions from others as well, so don't hesitate to ask. And I hope you enjoy the juice you get from Vapor Renu as much as I do. I can't believe some of the prices people pay from some of these online juice vendors, but I've never tried them either. I'm perfectly happy with Vapor Renu. I hear the whole "quality, not quantity" thing, which I understand, but I have no problem with Vapor Renu's quality. Maybe if I actually tried another vendor's juice, it might change my mind. I just can't justify paying 2 or 3 times as much for juice, no matter how good it is. Maybe I'm just a cheapskate like my dad... Oh well. Like I said, I hope you enjoy it.
  18. Okay, so I got my boge soft tip cartomizers yesterday, and they seemed to work well enough initially. I quickly noticed, however, that they seem to be VERY inconsistent and now annoying. Considering how large the cartomizer is, and assuming that the filler goes the whole length of the cartomizer, there's no way that I filled it completely. But somehow, the filler looks moist, the juice doesn't seem to be soaking in anymore, and if I try to add more juice, it pools. So I guess it's full, whatever, that's not the issue. So I go to vape on it, and I hear a gurgling noise and/or barely get any vapor. I just sucked juice into my mouth. I'll maybe get a few decent drags, which require priming this thing like crazy, and then it's like out of juice... This isn't any better than cartridges. I get about the same number of drags if not less than I would with dripping before I have to top it off, and I'm wasting battery power trying to get a decent hit off of this thing. I feel like I'm vaping on my blu... No, scratch that, my blu works better than this(at least when I drip with it) I don't get it. At this point, the only advantage over carts with these things that I can see is that it's slightly less messy and tedious. What could I possibly doing wrong here? Is 100% VG juice(that's all I use) somehow not "compatible" with these things, or what? It seems like the only way to go for me is either dripping or a wetbox at this point. I know I hate cartridges, and I'm starting to hate cartos already too.
  19. I highly recommend Vapor Renu(www.vaporrenu.com). Their 30ml bottles are only $7.00, and they have tons of flavors and options to choose from. I've never gotten a bottle of juice from them that I just downright didn't like.
  20. I'd say it's not a good idea because the passthru itself costs like $25. You need cartos or atties, which will cost you at least another 10. With a kit you get double the amount of equipment, plus a wall charger. It's a quicker start, but more costly in the long run. Although the USB part does make it a bit more convenient.
  21. That will probably never happen, and I don't want it to happen. In order for it to happen, PVs would have to require a prescription, meaning the powers that be determine whether we're allowed to use them or not. That should NEVER happen. Doctors won't ever tell you to do anything that's cheap. I can't remember the last time a doctor actually told me to eat an orange, drink orange juice, take zinc, or any vitamin/mineral, for that matter. It's always robitussin, nyquil, or some stupid prescription drug. They never promote cheap health aids, and they never promote preventive healthcare anymore. It's really very sad... Don't get me wrong. It would be very cool for them to suggest vaping to help fight/prevent colds and flus, but NOT if it's done by prescription only, and it's very doubtful that this will ever happen.
  22. I didn't read thru even the entire first post in this thread, simply because I had to stop and look in shock and awe at one particular comment. You said you think that the FDA cares about us and is in this fight for the health of the people... This is complete BS. I'm not calling you out, suggesting that you're dumb or anything at all like that. But they certainly do not care about us. If they did, there is no conceivable reason for them to do what they've been doing(seizing shipments, spreading all kinds of lies and BS about e-cigs being dangerous or potentially dangerous). We KNOW for a fact that cigarettes are TERRIBLE for us, yet the FDA allows them to be sold. Meanwhile, here comes a much safer alternative, and what do they do? They say that because they haven't been proven completely safe(wtf is 100% safe anyway?), that they should be pulled from the market until they can be proven completely safe, despite the fact that cigarettes, in contrast, have been proven 100% NOT safe, yet they're allowed to be there. This is all about money and complaints from either the tobacco industry, the pharmaceutical industry, doctors who get kickbacks, or a combination of all three. These are NOT marketed to kids. These are NOT nicotine-cessation devices. Despite the common belief that apparently adults don't like or deserve candy, THEY DO. These are also not drug delivery devices. What about 0 nic juice? And even WITH nicotine in the juice, if this is a drug delivery device, then so are cigarettes. So is a coffee mug. So is an aluminum can. We can be ridiculous about this and start calling everything that aids you in the ingestion, inhalation, or absorption of ANYTHING a drug delivery device, or we can just end the madness and give smokers a much healthier alternative to smoking that still allows them to get the nicotine they crave. It also allows them the option to actually quit because it addresses the hand-to-mouth action, it addresses the "smoke" aspect, and it provides lower levels of nicotine and even 0 nicotine juices. There are cigarettes with lower nicotine(or at least that's what I THINK "lights," which we can't call them anymore are), but there aren't any with ZERO nicotine. And now thanks to new legislature, if one were to try smoking lower nicotine cigarettes, it's much more confusing because we can't call them lights or mediums or whatever anymore. Gums, patches, and pills have a horrible success rate. Only the e-cigarette has a success rate higher than 20%(which is probably being incredibly generous to other methods of quitting), and it wasn't even intended as an aid for quitting. That's saying something. That's powerful. THAT is why all this crap is going on, because it is so great. The FDA sees this. The FDA knows this. Doctors know this. The pharmaceutical industry knows this, and so does big tobacco. The government wants e-cigs gone because they're losing tax money. The Pharmaceutical industry wants e-cigs gone because they're competition to the gums, patches, and pills that don't work. Big tobacco wants e-cigs gone because they're competition to cigarettes, and (some)doctors want e-cigs gone because it prevents them from getting as many dr. visits, prescribing as many drugs, and in turn, getting as many kickbacks. Basically, for every person that wants e-cigs gone, they have a financial interest in their removal from the market. It's THAT simple. And every single thing I ever hear about the FDA points to the fact that they absolutely ARE NOT for our benefit. They don't want us to be healthy. Keeping us unhealthy is what keeps their wallets full. Same goes for doctors and pharmaceutical and insurance companies.
  23. Oh, okay... so now being addicted to nicotine is a friggin' DISEASE? What about all the people that can't get thru the day without drinking coffee? If this is a drug delivery device, so are cigarettes. So is a cup of coffee or can of soda. This is really infuriating.. I can't believe what some people will do just for money...
  24. First of all, I say screw the big corporations. Secondly, it's not our fault if they made a crappy business investment. Why should we be forced to use their product just because they spent money on it? If I spend a ton of money promoting a piece of crap, do I deserve money in return for having spent it in the first place? No... so why should pfizer or any other pharmaceutical company be any different?
