  1. There's nothing really "wrong" with the blu, but most people find that it's not sufficient for them. It has very poor battery life(which can only be expected from such a small battery anyway), and the cartridges are absolute crap(very small capacity, very inconsistent due to varying amounts of filler material. They don't taste very good in my opinion either). The only way to get good performance out of a blu, in my opinion(yes I actually own one and I love it, but I love my 510 even more) is to either A: use blue foam in the cartridges along with some decent(3rd party) juice, or B: screw the cartridges altogether and just drip(306 drip tips fit the blu atomizer. you can get them from www.nhaler.com). If you choose to drip, be careful though. I haven't had any problems myself, but if you put too much juice in it, it will eventually work its way thru the atomizer and then into the hole in the battery, which will ruin the switch, meaning the battery will no longer work. Also, the blu batteries are sensitive and go off when the wind blows, or if there's a loud noise. In addition to this, the blu is way overpriced. $60 is too much to spend for what it is when you can get a Joye 510 manual kit for about $40, or a Joye Ego or EM Riva, which have manual(meaning you have to press a button to activate them, which, while not as convenient, is much better because they'll never activate accidentally like automatic ones) batteries that can last all day or several days depending how much you use them, for about $35-$60. If the blu only cost about $25 or $30 for a starter kit, I would recommend it. But it costs $60, and that's just ridiculous. I would recommend the Joye 510. Many others have probably already recommended a Joye Ego/EM Riva/Volcano Inferno/Modern Vapor Lux/whatever else that thing's called. I have no reason to NOT recommend it other than the fact that I have not yet personally used it. But from what I understand, it's just a 510 with a much larger battery. The larger battery might not matter to you since you're not a smoker anyway, but why spend more for less if you don't have to? Vapor-ize.com sells Riva kits for as low as $36 something with their thanksgiving/black friday 10% off sale plus coupon code "VB" for an additional 10% off. liberty-flights.com has genuine Joye Ego kits for $40. I couldn't tell you which is better quality or anything like that. Perhaps other members could help you out with that. Oh, also, for the good 3rd party juice, I highly recommend Vapor Renu. They're the only supplier I've tried, so my view might be biased. I'm a cheapskate/penny pincher. I try to pay as little as possible for anything while still maintaining quality, and VaporRenu.com is the cheapest juice supplier I've found. They have tons of flavor options, and a 30ml bottle costs only $6.99(or a little more depending on which options you choose for your juice). As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely amazing juice. And at only $6.99 a bottle, it gives you a great opportunity to try out lots of different flavors. Other sites charge up to $15.00 for just 10ml. If you want a flavor you don't see on their list, you can always send an e-mail and request one too. What I would do if I were you, in all honesty, is cancel your order if you still can. If not, send it back when it gets to your door. You're welcome to try it if you want, but if you use any cartridges, they'll subtract the cost of however many cartridges you've used from your refund, or they'll just subtract $25(the amount for the full "carton" of cartridges). In the meantime, if you can afford to, I'd order either a Joye 510 kit(Many places to get them, I got mine for $40 at www.mypvshop.com. They let you pick your battery and LED color, atomizer color, type of cartridges, and type of charger, where as other sites just give you whatever they give you. You can usually at least pick the color of the kit, but you can't mix and match. I don't know if that's important to you or not, and you might be able to find a kit cheaper elsewhere.) or a Joye Ego/EM Riva kit from one of the sites I mentioned. You could wait for your refund/order cancellation, but if you do you'll probably miss out on the sales they have going on right now. sorry for the wall of text... I hope this helps you, and if not you, at least someone else reading this.
  2. Thanks for all your help and advice. I went with Vapor-ize. With their black friday sale plus a coupon code, I got my riva kit for $36 something, and 2 5-packs of boge cartos for $12 something.
  3. if it leaves behind harmful chemicals, then why do they use it to sterilize things, and why would you use it as an antiseptic for wounds? I've only ever noticed a residue left behind by ethyl rubbing alcohol(and a terrible taste), but not isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Also, what chemicalS? The only thing in it is isopropyl alcohol and water. That's only one chemical. In fact, most tap water would contain more chemicals than the alcohol anyway. There's at least fluoride and chlorine in most tap water, not to mention calcium and lime. Fluoride and Chlorine aren't good for you either. And I rinse my atomizers before using them after soaking in alcohol anyway.
  4. well the way I see it, if it's "broken" and needs to be thrown out, how much damage can I really do by trying the rubbing alcohol? The worst I can imagine is it'll taste bad or just not work, but it will already be bad anyway. If it works, I extend the life of my carto, and if not, well then I just throw it out, which I would have done anyway. Rubbing alcohol is only harmful to humans if ingested, and it evaporates faster than water, leaving nothing behind.
  5. I'm like the energizer bunny regardless of whether or not I'm smoking. However, when smoking, of course, I run out of breath a lot sooner. That's okay, that just means it's time for her to get on top instead...
  6. Has anybody ever tried soaking them in rubbing alcohol? I know that works for atomizers, but will it work for cartos as well? I know they're still cheaper than analogs and atomizers, but I'm a big cheapskate and like to get the most out of everything.
  7. Thanks for all the help. I ordered from vapor-ize. The Riva came to $36 something, and I got two packs of boge cartos for like $12.
  8. Okay, sorry for double posting, but I can't seem to figure out how to edit a post. Maybe I can't cuz I'm a newbie or something, I dunno... but also, I forgot to mention, I'm trying to find the cartos and kit from the same place to make it easier and to save on shipping. Vapor-ize.com seems to have what I need and it's fairly cheap, so I think I'm gonna go with them, unless there's a reason you guys can tell me about that I shouldn't.
  9. First off, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum initially. I forgot there was a section specifically for newbie questions. Secondly, I looked at the vapor talk store, and sorry, but I'm a cheapskate. I'm looking for a riva kit at the lowest cost possible, so I was checking out vapor-ize.com. Other than liberty flights, which, oddly enough, has decided to jack up the price on their riva kits(even though they're STILL out of stock), this is the cheapest I've been able to find them. Is there any reason I should be wary about buying from vapor-ize.com? Also, are these the cartomizers you're talking about? http://vapor-ize.com/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=51&category_id=17
  10. Okay, so I'm looking to get a Riva kit so I don't have to fumble with a PCC in the car like I do now with my 510. I'm also planning on getting cartomizers because I hate cartridges, and from what I understand they're more convenient and hold more liquid. I never use carts, I only drip right now, and dripping while driving, while possible, can be difficult, and I don't really want to wreck my car cuz I'm trying to drip. So... I know NOTHING about cartomizers other than the fact that they are a cartridge and atomizer in one little package. What's all this stuff about ohms and whatnot? What's best? I don't want anything low resistance. I only use regular 510 atomizers now, so I want whatever's closest to that. I want whatever's easiest/most convenient(I heard on ECF about condoms and syringes for filling, I just want something I can drip into with a regular dropper bottle, if that's possible) and most reliable/lasts the longest. So... What would you people suggest to a complete carto newbie? Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned, since I already have a 510, I'm planning on getting a 510 compatible riva kit, so I'd need 510 compatible cartomizers... unless you can give me a reason why 901 cartos are better. My whole plan here is to have all interchangeable parts if possible(I also have a blu cig, which is compatible with the 510).
  11. Hello, everybody. So I know about liberty flights and their Riva kits for $30, but I was wondering if anybody else knows about another site that has them for the same price or close to it because they're currently out of stock. I already own a blu and a joye 510, and I'm looking to buy a Riva kit and cartos to use in the car. I drip exclusively at the moment, but fumbling with a PCC and dripping while driving are a pain. Also, I'm a cheapskate, so I want the lowest price I can find. So far, that's liberty flights.
