I was at a local B&M that also does very well online and was talking to one of the owners. He said that they're going to be cutting out some of their flavors that aren't big sellers to limit the number of applications they'll have to make and holding "workshops" for people who want to learn to build or DYI before the stuff really hits the fan in Feb. (He's doing this by word of mouth and in store notices)
Although he can't and won't be touching anything and it's more of an educational process. I hope he's not going to get in trouble for it. On the flip side though, it's really nothing different than watching a youtube video just live.I have to respect his motivation to help people stay off analogs.( I also think it's brilliant because I'm sure he'll have the FDA fear factor of  losing the right to vape and have new stuff to sell his stock.)
I know I won't be shopping online if I have to send a picture of myself holding my ID to anyone. I'm stocking up and praying for a reprieve.

I agree the data needs to be updated.
One thing to think of with the configuration of the batteries is that with a regulated mod it really doesn't matter.  As you know, on a series mod your amp value is the that of the single battery (2-20A batteries in a series has approximately 20A capacity @ 7.4V) with a parallel mod you spread the load between the batteries (2-20A batteries have a 40A capacity at 3.7V)  The funny thing is the math works out the same for both - 75W/7V*1.1=11.79A pulled from the batteries in a series mod & 75W/3.5V*1.1=23.57/2 cells = 11.79A in a parallel mod.
Now something I really need to figure out is how a triple 18650 mod works.  Are these regulated only?  I checked the RX200 the other day and they are wired in a series, so you have 11.1V available.  The DNA 200 is the same way with a lipo pack or.  How would one correctly calculate the battery draw on it.  I have always calculated it like the normal Variable Wattage mods, but am not 100% sure this is correct.   It does have a 2 completely different circuits, but, I don't know...
TC does add a layer of safty and complexity to a mod.  In preheat you might exceed you max amperage draw for a split second, but with all of mine it quickly regulates the power (watts) quickly down to maintain temp.  So your amp draw should be much less, but this has never resulted in a longer lasting battery, for me anyway.
Sorry, I go all nerdy at the drop of a hat!
I really can't explain why your batteries would degrade that fast.  I have not had many batteries that have "gone bad" on me.  In fact most of the time, they just die.
I feel like you will like the HG2s much better than what you have. The 30Q is exactly the same as the HG2 in my opinion.  (there are differences, but  I have found that due to the popularity of the HG2, I could pick up the 30Qs cheaper

I just use TFA's regular sweetener. 3% mostly for the fruity mixes. I don't want a "candy" taste to my juices. If you prefer sweeter, try 5%.

And that is "manufacturing" according to the FDA's new definition of the word.  The last time I checked, changing spark plugs or oil in a car with an identical set of spark plugs or an identical blend of oil was considered maintenance.  The same should hold true for retailers.  If a person is physically or mentally incapable of changing out the 1.5 ohm coil in their Subtank Mini with a coil that is identical in every way and was physically manufactured by a different company, (i.e. another 1.5 ohm coil from Kangertech), or that person is physically or mentally incapable of opening their tank to fill it with their favorite liquid (from a bottle they already own), then that should be considered maintenance, not manufacturing.
Some of these FDA regs make sense on the surface (excluding the extremely high fees associated with the PMTA process), but some of these regs are, in my opinion, a gross misuse of power.  Just because someone says you are permitted to do something doesn't mean you should.  And just because you do something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.  Just because the FDA says changing a coil or filling a tank for a customer is "manufacturing" does not make it "manufacturing".  Just my 2 cents.
I'll get off my soapbox now.  It's just that these ridiculous regs, along with all the misleading information, partial information or, (in some cases) full on lies, have me rather ticked off.

My 100 Kanger OCC 1.2 Ohm Horizontal coils (with white o-rings) arrived today from SlowTech...er... Fasttech...
The boxes were apparently stepped on or hit by a truck or two along the route from China, but the coils appear to be undamaged.  Five out of 20 of the blister-cards don't appear to have "Kangertech" imprinted on them, so they may be clones?  The rest are properly marked/imprinted.
At 68-cents a coil (and arrival in under 8-weeks from placing the order)... I'm not going to complain

I struggled with with this quite a while.  I was originally taught to calculate everything like a mechanical mod, but it didn't make sense.  How could a battery at 4.2 - 3.5 Volts supply 6+ Volts to the coil.  It took an "old timer", from another board, quite a few posts to get it beat into my thick skull...lol
The battery can't supply a constant voltage, but it will supply a constant power (watts).  You are exactly correct, as voltage drops, your Amps go up.  The difference at 75 watts goes from 19.84A with a fully charged battery (4.2V) to 23.81A with a battery at 3.5V.
I am like you, I really enjoy the nerd discussions.  Poor @Edna gets caught up in my OCD, Nerd Rant when she is just asking about how to extend battery life...lol
Bottom line for you @Edna is that if you are using a regulated mod and running 25 - 30 watts, a HG2 or Samsung 30Q batteries would be a great investment for you.  You will notice a difference.  I run a NEBOX at 25 watts.  With the HE2/HE4 batteries, I change them before I leave work (5:00) but with the HG2 or 30Q, I normally change them late in the evening around 9:00 - 10:00.  I personally keep 6 (or more) charged at one time, but I never know when I am going to have to jump and run out of town for work.

I'm using some LG HG2 batteries that are well over a year old, and they are still going strong. I have one battery that I know is over 2 years old, and is still a good battery. The brown LG HG2 batteries are 3000mAh batteries, and are rated at 20A, I run them in all my mods even in my 160w mod. I don't run high wattage, and they work good and last longer. The max your Pico will put out is 60w so they would be a safe battery to use.
I guess your Pico is 75w, should still be safe, unless you run a coil below .2 ohms.

Start with base mix of your choice. (I use a 50/50 right now)
    All flavors are TFA
    Raspberry 6%: Blackberry 8%: Blueberry6%: Sweetener 3%
Good after about 3 days, better in 6-7 days.

I am beyond paranoid when it comes to putting out personal info on computers. I know I put in the (almost) correct year I just left the month/day the same because I hate giving out any personal info like birthdates. I was born 45+ odd years ago so It wasn't because I'm under age

You're not! This is actually a great request. We have a large selection of drip tips in the retail store but online it's a bit tricky because often each DT looks a little different. Our Drip Tip Selection online leaves a lot to be desired. I'll see if we can't get some tips online

    Hi Edna,
Sorry about that. If you enter the age incorrectly it will redirect you to Google. Basically the correct age goes to the store and the wrong age goes to Google (though we can redirect to another site if prefered). Let me change the system to a checkbox method instead which might help

I'm still rocking the evic VTC mini.  I know, I know it's only 60w device. Well the truth is I rarely use half that and I pretty much live around 20 - 24w and I like it so.
I pretty much use the evic mostly (and I have a couple of them) and my tanks of choice are the subtank minis and the youde zephrus.  Back ups for those are my invader mini and IPV.

Lately I got a couple subvods and I am really liking these for short quick outings when I don't want to carry a lot of stuff. And my new Tesla stealth is never far away. It's almost too much.  I really prefer simplicity which I stay with pretty much one style of tank.  After all while it has become a mini hobby for me, mainly I'm just happy to be off cigs so I am eaasily satisfied without too much fuss over hardware.

Once the government does something its hard for them to admit that they made a mistake, and undo it. The best known example is the 18th amendment (prohibition), which had to be undone by the 21st amendment, the only Constitutional amendment ever repealed. I don't look for Congress to do anything because the current POTUS will probably veto it anyway. Just my opinion.
If it were not for the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, passed in 2009 the FDA would not have any control over tobacco products, and we would not have these new FDA regulations.

You think that's bad, I was vaping on a Vision Spinner 2 w/ An AeroTank for almost a year lol It wasn't until I visited some Vape Shops in Asia and the UK that people excited for me to come buy were like "SO WHAT ARE YOU VAPING!" I'm like "oh this" they'd usually go "oh....well that's ok I guess"
For me personally I started vaping to stop smoking, it's kept that goal. I have access to a ton of pretty awesome mods but I sort of like whatever works.

Over-cooking the juice usually makes it taste like crap... as for making it "harmful"... it shouldn't affect the chemistry, even if you boiled it... other than oxygenating the nicotine, which causes it to break-down (lower) and become bitter.  I''m also sure your juice turned very dark.  Some flavors (especially natural fruit flavors) will become rancid if they've been overheated as well...even leaving them in a hot car for a day will make them intolerable to vape.
Hopefully it wasn't a big batch... but if it were me, I'd toss it because the flavor will most likely be bad, the dark color will shorten coil-life, and the nicotine will be lower and have a bitter taste.

Another way to "speed steep" your juice that's a little easier is to take a bottle of hot water (not boiling), and put your bottle of juice into it. Put the hot water into a Pyrex bowl and set it on the counter. This way, you really can't over cook/steep the juice because the water will cool on its own. If you need to, you can dump the cooled water and refill with hot water and repeat as necessary.

BTW, steeping in the microwave isn't necessary... but it is "fast", lol...  Floating the bottles in a warm water bath is also acceptable for accelerating the steeping process... but it is less about the heat and more about mixing... heating excites the molecules causing them to move, thus mixing the flavors through Physics, rather than physical exertion.  Thorough mixing when you're making them... using a vibration table, sonic cleaner, or magnetic stirrer works wonders for making a better blend.
I find (when I don't use my magnetic mixer) leaving the cap off, and putting them into an area that is warm (on a shelf above the stove, or in a room that gets a little warmer than the rest) works far better than "cooking" the juice... slow aging and daily shaking makes for a far better flavor, and depending on the juice, it will only take 2-10 days to fully "evolve" the flavor.

All good questions. You basically nailed it on the head. Those planning to stay and those who believe they'll pass PMTA are likely going to speak it fairly loud. If not simply for the fact it proves they managed to somehow get through the PMTA process which I can assure you is stringent. Those not willing to stick around will probably stay quiet for fear they'll lose customers.
On the flip side, some companies we've got wind are going through PMTA are staying quiet about it.  (These are the really big guys. There is no official step by step but they're using some more traditional methods to get a head start. They've got huge budgets) The main reason is that anyone who can obtain PMTA has a major marketing advantage, so, they really don't want to offer up any sort of support clues to the smaller guys on how to make it through the process. (The larger players). What this has really done is ensured big players, especially those backed by big tobacco obtain a de facto monopoly in the US. I've always had a feeling it'd likely go this way. Kill the competition through legality and regulation.
Companies like NJOY, Blue, etc are all very likely to move forward without much issue. They've been building up resources for years with huge supply lines. I'd imagine that some of the larger liquid companies who saved or invested their money are likely to stick around. But without knowing how much some of these guys made it's hard to say. For hardware companies like Kanger Tech & Aspire are planning to push through the PMTA process. Their biggest concern is that because they are Chinese based that the FDA won't work with them. Most however are eager, willing and financially capable of making it through all of this.
For us personally, we're not 100% sure at the moment. (Thus why there's a lot of focus on Vapor Talk Asia and Vapor Talk Europe, which is a shame because those are potential jobs forced away from here..) We've got our products already our for testing and we've started the pre application phase. We're still mulling some things through with our investors but Vapor Talk's Black Line alone could cost 6 million USD to push through PMTA - with no guarantee it'll pass. And it's only 5 flavors! the 6th being reserved for outside markets. (Prince of Jazz) If our application fails, we pay and repeat until the FDA gives us the greenlight. 3 runs could cost upwards of 18 million dollars. Incredible.
If you want to stay up to date on who is going and who is staying I'd suggest just staying on the forum. (ECF is another good source of info) I took a back seat role for a few years but these days I've hit the ground running and staying pretty well up to date. I'll start up video/podcasts shortly and will do my best to keep everyone here in the loop on whatever I managed to find out. Roger's in Beijing and usually keeps me up to speed on how little China is progressing with the FDA.

I love that little "Stealth" from Tesla... I only wish it were VV/VW.  If it were, I'd probably have four or five of them by  now
I found it does best with a 0.8-1.2 Ohm coil, with 1.0 Ohm being the sweet spot (for me).  I have mine with a Russian 91% at 1.0-1.1 Ohms, and it is working very well... but you are correct that it falls off quickly in the latter half of its charge...
I can live with the fall-off, though, because it makes up for that short-coming with it's size and I love the VTR-ish "protected" tank style... it fits great in my jacket pocket, back packet, or tank-bib-bag on my motorcycle.  The submerged/protected tank is the only reason I ever wanted a VTR, well, that and the fact they are great self-defense weapons, lmbo

I have a pretty good record of salvaging juices by changing builds. (or power).  It's amazing how different a juice can taste just making little changes in cotton or ohms (or power).  Sometimes I think juices get unfairly criticized (and that includes me!) simply because the set up is not right or differences in tanks and airflow.  And of course that's subjective too.

I'm not saying there aren't bad juices out there but I am saying some times the difference between hohum and great is a simple adjustment.
