I have never bought anything but 1 battery from a local B&M. I have heard too many stories about how incompetent they are. Take them back and get coils in your vaping range.
Sometimes you will have to pull up the center pin on your mod to get a good contact.

Flavoring, PG, and VG should still be available for at least 2 more years. Maybe even longer, they are still used for other things besides ejuice. 18650, and 26650 batteries will still be used for flashlights, and other things. The vape industry will not end we will just have to find other ways to get what we need.

FXRich got a reaction from jasonculp in Need some help I stick40 watt tc
It has been my experience that SS coils needs a little less wattage than Kanthal or Nichrome coils, for the same resistance coil. I may be wrong but that seems to be the case. I have no experience with the istick 40w TC mod, but the best way I have to unlock a coil is to press the fire button with no tank attached, the mod should show no resistance. Sometimes I have to do that with my Kanger 120w TC before it will ask if a new coil is being used. In power mode it should not ask if a new coil is being used. you didn't say if the ratio is 90% PG or 90% VG, if you are using 90% VG you may have a wicking problem. If you are using 90% VG a few drops of water in the tank will thin it enough to wick better.

I agree with @FXRich I really like the HG2 or the Samsung 30Q.
Before I make too many suggestions, I should let you know that it really depends on the Wattage you run it at.  Your coil resistance has little/nothing to do with the draw on your battery.  The Wattage/Joule setting determines how much amperage you are pulling from the battery.
If you are running it at full capacity (200+ watts)
I recommend you not using anything other than:
    LG HB2, LG HB4, LG HB6
They won't last long, but will be the safest choice.
If you are running 150 watts down to 100 watts:
    Sony VTC5A (not the VTC5)
    Sony VTC4
    LG HD2
    Less than 100 watts:
    Samsung 30Q
    LG HG2
    Samsung 20R
    LG HE2/4
I would buy them from one of the following:
    http://www.illumn.com/
    http://liionwholesale.com/
    http://www.rtdvapor.com/
    https://101vape.com/

I personally have a preference for the LG HG2 batteries, other people may have a different choice. They are a good 20A battery with a 3000mAh capacity, and work well with any tank, including the subohm tanks.
Always buy from a reputable dealer, and never buy batteries off of ebay.

I get my Nic base, VG, and PG from Heartland Vapes. I get my flavors from Flavors West. Heartland Vapes has flavors from all the major flavor manufacturers, also. Why I get my flavors from Flavor West instead of getting them from HV I can't answer, its probably the same flavor.

FXRich reacted to jasonculp in FDA Regs, pretty stringent, however, there is hope IMO
I tend to agree with you.  I don't think this is the end of vaping as we know it.  I am optimistic that most of us, who have been doing it a while, will be able to continue, at least for the next 2 years.
I am also optimistic because a lot can change in 2 years.  I think with support of vaping organizations we could possibly see some changes.

The groups I am concerned about are people who are just starting to vape, or those who are still smoking, who want to quit.  The regulations could severely hamper their ability to keep/start vaping.
I am also concerned for small businesses like @Compenstine 's  He will virtually be put out of business overnight just because it will be cost prohibitive for him to supply us with great products. ( I do think his DIY advice and services can survive, as he would be providing no actual vape products)

I personally will not be affected greatly by the regulations as I have enough supplies to keep me going for many years.  I will not have my normal juice, but I can DIY something that is vapable (with Comp's help).  I will also continue to purchase mods, tanks, replacement boards, 510 connectors, wire, etc.  I would have probably bought most of them anyway since I am an overpreparer, with shinyitus....

I think you are somewhat miss guided in your thoughts. It will cost me 8.5 billion to register every juice I have with all the variants. I'm just a small company with 49 flavors. The industry as a whole only brought in 5-6 billion for 2015. The numbers are facts and if just my one company needs more than the whole industry took in last year, then it will close 99% of them down. It is going to cost around 1 million per flavor per variant to apply for the PMTA and there is not a guarantee that it will even pass. Since 2009 only 1 product has passed the PMTA process and that was a Snus product. Big Tobacco are the only ones with the labs in place and money to push through the PMTA process.

For right now not much, I have ordered another liter of 100mg Base for my DIY, which means I will probably have a 20 year supply since I use 4mg juice. I rebuild my coils so there isn't much to do there. I currently am using 5 mods that use 18650 batteries, also have 3 mods that are unopened, so I'm OK there. I also have 11 tanks that I use in rotation, and 6 more that are still in the box. Awhile back I got 10 extra RBAs for my subtanks, so OK on tanks too. The people that will be hit the hardest after 2 years are the ones that are just starting to vape. Keeping juice in the freezer will help on the shelf life, I have some nic base in the freezer that has been there for at least 2 years, and is just as clear as the day I put it in there. In my opinion you can either stock up or wait to see what happens, I'm kind of doing both. I can't see big companies like Kanger, and joytech throwing in the towel, they will fight back. I think the juice will be higher priced, and maybe the hardware, but the industry will survive this FDA mess.

Another reason I prefer a 100mg base is for ease of measuring, when mixing a 30ml batch of 4mg using a 100mg base you add 1.2ml base, if you use pure nicotine you would have to measure .12ml, which can be done with the right equipment but not something I want to do. Besides pure nicotine is hard to come by, but you can get it.

All the flavor maker has to do is declare on their webpage is that their flavors are not intended or recommended for use in ejuice, everyone will know different, but at least their legal responsibility will be met. If Compenstine wants to he may be able to write a book on how to mix ejuice, and will make a lot of $ off the sales. When one door closes another one may open.

After watching the video I posted, I decided to put my flavors to the calculator. As the regs stand, it would cost me $8,428,000,000.00 to keep all the options for all the flavors offered. I would have to have this amount ready within the next 2 years. That is just one company with 49 flavors and this is not including the testing that would also need done on these flavors. I have seen numbers that say the Vape Industry in a 4 to 6 billion dollar a year industry as a whole... If you think these regs will not kill the industry? Please think again.

That is one reason I prefer the mods that use replaceable batteries, I don't know how long a built in battery lasts, it might be a year it might be 5 years, but when it quits holding a charge the mod has to be replaced. The mods that use replaceable batteries that will not hold a charge anymore, only the battery needs to be replaced not the mod. With my single battery mods I remove the battery to recharge it, but my dual battery mod I just leave them in and recharge them in the mod. That way I don't have to keep extra married sets. Just the way I do it, and I know other people do it differently.

The only thing that changes after 90 days is the labeling, otherwise you got 2 years to figure out if you are going to quit vaping or not. Personally I believe if you are going to continue to vape after 2 years you should learn to mix your own juice. After 2 years the companies that invest the money to legally sell ejuice will have to raise the price to recover their cost. I have been mixing my own juice for 2 years now so I'm going to be OK.

And your opinion is well founded. While we're still in the early phases if and when we apply from our initial applications for US made VT liquids the funding source will likely come from outside investors as the cost is ridiculously high. Especially if there are multiple application attempts, that has to be recuperated some how. Without a doubt, those selling liquid past the 3 year window will raise the prices. If there are few companies left, there's also the "why not" as there isn't any other option for the consumer. I'm not saying this is something Vapor Talk would do but heck, look at the table industry as a perfect example. The start up costs to get an Internet company of the ground is huge.
But as some have pointed there is still things passing through congress and a lot can happen in a couple of years. But it will go by quicker than people realize. Let's just hope the outcome is one we try to control rather than sitting back hoping those in the know take care of everything. (Psst come to my house, I got the good stuff)
EDIT: Just for future readers, my random quirks aren't a lack of taking this subject serious. Just that it's so ridiculous I often keep myself going with offbeat, crappy humor.

Something tells me they aren't done with the rule changing yet, I believe our only hope is Congress or the courts, and I don't see congress acting on it until after the election, and most of the time these things take years in the courts. We have to have some patience, and wait to see what happens.
