GeorgeF reacted to jasonculp in Lotus Jellyfish Box Mod
I watched Phil's review of it last night. It is amazing what some people think you would want in a box mod. Especially after the iStick mean calculation.
I actually think it looks cool, and has a big battery, but after reading about it .... no thank you.

GeorgeF reacted to fishguy1123 in Can someone point me in the direction for an upgrade?
I'd suggest you check out Pbusardos youtube video on the mvp 2. It will give you all the specs and show you how they work. I have one and love it! Sometimes seeing things in action is better then reading it.

GeorgeF got a reaction from Compenstine in New Nautilus BVC Coils
Just opened a new pack of Nautilus BVC's and noticed a couple of things.
1. The warning card that came inside the box.
2. The size increase of to juice holes
I have one in my Nautilus mini soaking right now with Fadora Vapor's new sample of Coffee w/cream and sugar.
So I get to test two products at once.

GeorgeF reacted to jasonculp in New Nautilus BVC Coils
I noticed that on the last couple boxes I bought. Do you think they have changed to cotton? I didn't get to test since I got them in and sent them right out in a PIF package...
Dang...if I would have read closer, it says COTTON right on the warning...

GeorgeF reacted to Christopher in Everyone with a smoker banner please post here :)
lol talk about a roller coaster ride eh?
Let me explain what's happening here for the tech inclined. We use a cache plugin that helps run the front end of the site (Store, Blog etc) Basically it should only cache items in our root folder and should ignore /forum/. However, it's not following the ignore rules like it should.
Vapor Talk has a CDN network these days that helps keep the forum, store, blog etc loading nice and speedy no matter your location. The forum and the front end both have their own cache plugins that help manage this. But, this one particular plugin is being a little b....heh...it's the forum let me rephrase, it's not doing what it's supposed to. At any rate I've notified the developers about the issue and they're going to release a patch in the next week or two. Remember this is developer time so it could take longer.
Once I have that update my ignore rules will start working and it will stop trying to simplify the /smokefree and /forums folder
When you see the smoker banner coming back it's because I have the cache module turned off. You'll notice this happens mostly at night. That's because I need the cache system offline while I update major core files. At any rate once it's fully fixed, I'll be sure to post back here and don't worry I won't forget our beloved smoke banner I'm also under some pressure by the board to finish up another sister site we're currently building So a few things here on the forum are on the back burner so I don't get the pitch fork.

GeorgeF got a reaction from DJ Colonel Corn in Vamo V6
Check the Kangside http://www.esmoke-ksd.com/cp_view.asp?id=192 web site. You may have a clone. Their website only has 3 units pictured. Stainless polished, stainless brushed and what looks like gun metal. the only markings on it are 20W/Vamo. They are VW only devices.
Their website even lists copycat sellers. FastTech being one of them.

GeorgeF got a reaction from Earthling789 in Can someone point me in the direction for an upgrade?
The istick and the mvp both have an internal battery with a micro usb charge port. Google each and you will see what each one looks like. Eleaf iStick 20w or 30w. Innokin MVP 2.0 or MVP 3.0. Look for reviews on YouTube. PBursado is a great reviewer, gets kind of technical with the reviews of all devices tested, but shows what to look for and watch out for.

Thank you all for the help, support and friendship! I have learned so much from all of you and have a acquired several new "tools" to help me make this a success. The first year in over 30 years I haven't smoked.

GeorgeF reacted to Earthling789 in IPV-mini 2 (70W) coming soon
Wow, that's odd... My IPV-mini is probably more accurate than (or at least as accurate as) my MVP, and definitely more accurate than my iSticks. The IPV tends to match my Eleaf Ohm meters, give or take rounding error. For example, I built a 1.42 Ohm coil for my new RTA tonight, and my IPV-mini reads it as 1.4 (accurate rounding), but my iStick reads it as 1.6 Ohms.
I thought the same thing... I really wanted a Sigelei 100W+, but realized I have a lot of juices that prefer <10W, so I could only use it with my RTA/RDA (which I would rarely break 50W with, anyway). I've not ordered the IPV-mini2 yet, but next paycheck there will be one headed my direction!

GeorgeF reacted to Earthling789 in Device Compatibility With Batteries of Various mAh
The mAh ratings are listings of capacity (use between charges), and have basically no relationship to "safety". 18650 batteries can be found in different chemistry, and each has their use, discharge rate, capacity, etc...
Here's the Cliff's Notes version
If you want long-life between charges, go for higher mAh ratings. One of the downsides to maximizing your mAh is you tend to limit your discharge ratings (peak and continuous Amperage discharge). THIS is where safety is gained/lost. If you are building coils or using devices 1 Ohm or higher, there is little cause for concern on the Amp rating of your batteries, as the majority of the ones on the market can handle loads down to 1 Ohm. When you move to sub-ohm builds/devices, where your resistance is 0.2 Ohms @ 4.2V (for example), your battery needs to be rated to handle a minimum of 21A. So, for sub-ohming, you want to maximize your Amp-rating first, and then try to find the highest mAh for your needs (for longevity between charges).

GeorgeF got a reaction from Tam in New Member
Welcome to VT. Biggest thing is don't give up. If one setup doesn't work for you, try something else. Different tank, flavor of juice, things of that nature. Stick with it and you will be on your way to smoke free and vape happy.
Five months ago I started an haven't looked back.
And Tam will back me up, you can't have too many back-ups and back-ups for those. The money you save from not smoking offsets the vaping budget.

Hey good news, while working on the other site I figured how why the smoke banners aren't working. We have a cache plugin that's leaking itself into the forum. Should be able to get it fixed by tomorrow
