Correct. I just want to try it with a parallel coil build and see how it performs

Your part right, it also the position of the coil. Instead of laying parallel to the deck it is set at a 45 degree angle to the deck.

That twisted flat looks good. I have a spool of 28ga I really don't do anything with. I guess I need to order some flat. I have just about accepted the fact I can't build an untwisted (parallel) coil. It looks like it was built by a very unskilled 3rd grader. (No offense to third graders!) It seems like the Tiger would have much more surface area, but I don't know how it compares in ohms. How does it compare to my dual coil 7 wrap of 26 gauge on a 3.4 mm pin compare. In other words is is more or less ohms/ft than a 26 gauge. I would assume less ohms/per foot because it seems like there is much more conductor there. Am I looking at it right?

I'm with you on working on vehicles. I've been doing a few little mods to mine. Its coming together though, next is long travel suspension. That should take up a weekend.

Can't find a pic of the engine bay. Damn

yes, you are correct, make a coil and leave one of the leads long enough to go through the center post and build another coil on the other side of the center post. The hard part is making a tight coil on the other side becuase you have to wrap it on the mod. Rip Trippers does a decent video on it.

i vape everywhere. I have yet to have a restaurant tell me to not do it. on a side note i am very less obvious about it in restaurants. no big clouds or anything but i leave my rig on the table for all to see, and often get asked about it by waitresses

These guys here won't steer you wrong! I have not been doing this long and know way more than most of the people in the local vape shops! I learned most of it here!

I totally understand on the bad cigarette taste! The last one I smoked was late one night on my wife's birthday. I was in a motel and went out to the car due to the fire alarms going off (false alarm) I really didn't want it, but it was the last one I had. It tasted awful, nearly sickening! I wrote the date/time on the pack and wrapped it up and gave it to my wife for her birthday. It has been a strong motivator!

    Good Luck!

Yes. It is all the same. The only things I find a little different is the things are not as linear. The electrical laws don't ever change, but more watts doesn't mean better necessarily. There is so many other variables that you can't plug into calculators, such as, atomizer type, airflow, wicking material, coil size and placement, juice PG/VG/Nicotine ratios and your individual taste!

Here are some of the calculators I use:

    http://www.steam-engine.org
    http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/

    http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms_law_calculator.php

There are also android and iphone apps too!

Good luck, keep reading, and ask questions! There are a lot of smart, and experienced people on this site that will always be glad to help. I can only hope to have a small portion of the knowledge of the people here some day!

    Welcome to Vapor Talk!

Yeah, it's a very personal thing. I love my twisted 28g coils. I also fell in love with parallel coils. parallel 28 always hits the spot.

I hate to say I have been a little lazy. I am still running the dual vertical on my TOBH I put the coil closer to the negative post which puts the coil right above the 3 air holes (on each side). I am running .4(something) ohms. I am using 5 wraps of 26 gauge around a 3.4mm pin. It has been great! I have not had much reason to experiment. I am sure I will when time allows. I really like the vertical arrangement. It seems to be a better vape than the horizontal coils of the same size/wrap. I really don't know why that is. Is it airflow? I have 2 of these atty's so I can experiment, I just am enjoying it so much, I may get some 0 nicotine, so I can vape it more. I may have to start buying this juice by the gallon!

I like my drip but, I like my tanks for when I'm on the go. I don't want to fuss with dripping and driving. It harkens back to dropping my lighter on the floor board and almost running off the road trying to get it. LOL There is also the unexpected bumps that make me miss the atty and get juice all over me and my lap or steering wheel.

It has been a long road of trial and error with different devices and then different flavors and then different builds and again different flavors...

Droppers have now taken over... I love my nautilus too much to forget it at home but the stillaires are taking over as reigning champ!

It's a whole other world! I had my doubts at first... But now falling back in love through dripping a flavor I thought could not be dripped has kicked me in the face and made me go off into the drip-side!

It might be a temporary thing. It might not. But god do I ever love this hobby of ours! I'm toasting tonight to all of us who have left the stinkies behind and have discovered a new dimension in vaping.

Honestly I miss my tanks simplicity! The taste and vapor production is killing though!

With this build, I think the focus should be on how the "blended" coils work with the std ones for balance of resistance as well as the potential shorts based on what the OP says the cotton wick prevents if I understand it right. IMO.

My friends run 0.08 and sometimes lower, so I feel pretty safe. Plus a 2 second hit just about fills my lungs up so I'm not running it tooooo much per hit.

I have already rewicked it. I didn't take a picture. It was similar to the way that Rip Trippers did it in the video above. I just pushed the rayon through the coil until it touched the bottom below the coil, then looped it over the screw on top and into the other coil. It really didn't work as good as I have it now which is about a 16th of an inch sticking up through the coil and the tail in the drip well. I think the airflow is better with the vertical coil. I was going to try to do the quad coil, but I don't have the time tonight.

The pictures are deceptive. The front of the coil looks pretty good. There are gaps in the back. I can't get my larger tweezers in to compress them. The coil away from the camera doesn't look quite as good. I tend to run out of patience and want to try it.
